Lovely Wednesday evening meal, pub was busy, service was fast, friendly and the food was mouth watering !

Always a pleasure going to the Fox, Great beers and staff.

Same products off menu, exactly same excuses as three weeks earlier - no stock control management

Great place, very homely, and the staff give a great warm welcome.

Great food and drinks. Avoid the prawn cocktail though as the sauce was watery.

We come here before taking our son to Bute lights every Christmas and we love it. He needs wheelchair accessibility and the team here are really accommodating and really look after us well. Food is gorgeous and there is a good range of beers along with 0% beers etc

Mike runs a tidy, welcoming and clean pub. The food arrived quickly and was tasty. Great local pub.

Had meal there tonight, food was good but portions really small. Disappointed as kids running around no parental discipline and staff not bothered. Dogs sitting on chairs. I appreciate it Christmas but young kids should be allowed to run around a busy pub.

Fab experience. The pub was looking lovely and festive. The food was really nice - including a delicious lasagne and salad, and fish and chips with a massive piece of fish! Great service, and order from your table was a real bonus. Thanks - will be back again soon!

I booked the Fox and Hounds for a U8s football Christmas party, with circa 45 people. The team were incredible from start to finish with the food coming out at a similar time and all hot. The table's looked great when we walked in, dressed very festive. I cannot thank the team enough for how they looked after us last night.

Lovely Christmas lunch with friends. Good value for money and friendly attentive( but not pushy) staff.

El 5 y 20 de noviembre, veinte Voluntarios que están trabajando para restaurar los jardines públicos cercanos para el beneficio de la Comunidad realizaron su AGM 2024 en El Zorro y Sabuesos. Como siempre Mike y su equipo habían preparado las mesas apropiadamente para nosotros y nos hicieron bienvenidos. Antes del comienzo de la reunión se nos trajeron bebidas y se nos preparó una deliciosa variedad de sándwiches adaptados a las necesidades de todos cuando concluyó la reunión. Todo el mundo disfrutó de otra ocasión agradable en The Fox.

When we arrived a dog had decided to take a shit in the end restaurant area and the place stunk. We moved away from the smell but why do you allow dogs in the restaurant? When the food arrived it was very disappointing and we decided we will not be returning to this pub.

Parada aquí para tomar una copa el sábado por la tarde, fantástico ambiente todo el personal que tan amable y acogedor, decidimos tener algo de comida (actualmente 30% de descuento) elecciones seleccionadas) y no me arrepentí de que tenía el kebab de pollo de pan plano y era pollo impresionante tan tierno, compañero tenía el macarrones y queso principal y era absolutamente delicioso, sin duda volveremos especialmente porque tienen una gran zona cerca del bar donde muestran los deportes y una zona de estar encantadora para tomar su vino en un soleado día de otoño.

We visited the Fox and Hounds as part of a larger party for a group social. We had booked in advance but staff were still very accommodating when we wanted to rearrange the tables to allow everyone to sit round one big table rather than smaller break off groups. They were very quick with the orders and getting food out, and price-wise the F and H are on par with other similar establishments with good quality food so am very happy with the experience. The group had a range of different dishes, and all members were very happy with their food choices and quality of dishes.

Arrived at Fox and Hounds Chapel Row St Mellons only to find I had accidentally booked for the church road Whitchurch restaurant. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and very kindly fitted us in. I cannot thank your staff in st Mellons enough for their efforts, efficiency and friendliness. The food was excellent as always. Will definitely be going there again soon

We are in most Sundays for a drinks and lunch and they staff are really friendly. Our lunch today was good tasty and hot, Tom nailed my Sticky Toffee Pudding. Keep up the great work 💪

Been going to the fox and hounds for years and is just generally a lovely place to go with family. Has a beautiful outdoor section perfect for the summer and a climbing frame that keeps kids entertained for hours. Five stars.

Food was very good my steak was excellent cooked to perfection staff extremely friendly ,polite and helpful lovely relaxed atmosphere, shame it was spoilt by the table behind us complaining very loudly about the length of time they had been waiting for their main course insisted tables that had arrived after them were receiving their meals first which was totally untrue, they were very rude to the staff which was totally uncalled for I applaud 👏 👏👏 the staff for the calm and polite way they dealt with the situation quite frankly I would have told them to F****OFF their behaviour was disgusting and they were very rude and totally out of order. WELLDONE!!!Fox and Hounds keep doing what you do we will definitely be back and will be recommending you.

Helpful pleasant staff, good food, quick service

Service and food were great. The staff accommodated quite a lot of us (including children) at the end of what seemed to be a very busy weekend, but most dishes on the menu were still available and we didn't have to wait long for our food. Bar staff were also very friendly and efficient. Thank you!

We met up with friends for a meal and a drink. The staff were attentive, gracious and kind.

Family pub. So expect children. A play area outside for the kids to play with plenty of benches. Some covered, some not.

Came in for a team meal, 16 people. Food came out quick and very tasty, thanks for looking after us 👍👌

Staff are always friendly and the food is always served quickly. Recently had the sirloin steak which was cooked to perfection. Toilets are always clean and well stocked. Dogs are allowed on hard floor areas and there is plenty of room for wheelchairs/ pushchairs around the tables although 2 small areas of the restaurant are up a few steps. There are big screens available to watch sports. The garden is clean and tidy with a small play area with climbing frame and slide. I recommend the sirloin steak, hunters chicken, chocolate cake and latte.

Had a wonderful evening at the fox, looked after by Will and the team. Fantastic choice of well kept ales on offer, as well as a reasonably priced food menu, the fish and chips in particular was one to order again on return

Food wasn't great,myself And friend couldn't eat much of our meals,told the server 'tom' and was offered refund or free desserts,desserts were exceptional,I'm hoping this was a 1 off. been coming here for years for food with no problems,hats off to tom who was exceptional from start to finish,a great asset to have working for you,very professional

We visited the fox and hounds on father's day, there was 5 of us dining, we had a starter which was fine and then our mains, 4 out of the 5 of us had the roast, when we ordered we were told that there was no chicken so we opted for the turkey, the food was brought out quite quickly and looked fantastic, plenty of meat with all the trimmings, however when we put the "gravy" on, if you can call it gravy, it was so bad that my 9 year old asked "urgh Dad why are you pouring water on your food!" Which ultimately ruined our meals, such a disappointment as we had spent over £100 on food and drink!!! We had every intention of complaining but didn't get the opportunity too as none of the servers asked how our meals were which I thought was standard these days.

Great atmosphere in beer garden with grandkids. Many seats need replacing as wood is splintering badly. I am rather surprised at good reviews for meals. Sadly we have not had good experience with meals there..on few occasions inc terrible sunday lunch. Management were happy to refund us but still disappointing not given quality edible meals.

The staff were friendly. The atmosphere was buzzing in the garden on a Saturday afternoon. They had a good selection of gins. For the price the food was good - the lasagne felt good value for money. The pudding was slightly overcooked at the base - tasty otherwise.

I had asked Mike (the manager) if it was possible to watch the European Rugby Cup Final in the pub last weekend and he set up a separate area in the pub - the rugby zone! Only a few of us were there as the FA cup final was on but it was just fantastic to be with fellow rugby fans , a few drinks and some food. And all for someone that he (Mike the manager) didn’t know! Staff are fantastic-never have to wait to be served! Definitely my new local!

I love this place and sometimes there food is gorgeous but once our twice it was not the best. It's always busy though and they cater to large bookings for celebrations. Nice beer and a hidden garden at the back which will be fab for us in summer.

Went with my family who were down from England had a fab evening my aunt and uncle had mixed grills which they devoured as they were so nice .my uncle loved the rev James . All the rest of the food was excellent as well .the staff were friendly and the service was brill . Well done fox and hounds excellent food srvice

i came here with a friend to night for late night food. i had fish and chips and a pint of Amstel which in total came to 18 quid i sat down and thought that seemed a bit dear so asked the girl about it aftter as it looked like she had overcharged me for the fish and chips as it came to 13.50 when on menu it said 9.50 she said its because in the afternoons its cheaper then in the night the price changes i mean why not keep the price the same at all times in any case me and my mate said we wont be going back here again terrible night not happy at all.

Sunday lunch was very disappointing! We visited 17th March for a family dinner and it was the saddest roast we'd ever had. The dinner featured hard vegetables - the carrots must've ben boiled for no longer than 20 seconds and some equally hard broccoli. The meat (there was no chicken - despite half chicken being on the menu but our table had the beef and turkey) was wafer thin and was accompanied by 1 small uncooked stuffing ball. The dinners were missing mash potato? and one of our party had no stuffing. For six adults we were brought over 2 tiny gravy boats and had to request more but the gravy was tasteless and watery and didn't have an ounce of meat juice in it. Overal the table were very disappointed with both the quality and quantity of sunday lunches served.

I had my 50th birthday in here back in February . I had about 20 people and we had the part which is cut of for parties. Absolutely perfect. Food was good , staff were good. Definitely recommend 👍

Lovely pub and very friendly staff. Great in the summer as there beer garden is really nice. Definitely worth a visit. Didn't have food, but what I seen it looks really nice.

Got to say how impressed I am for the young girl working Friday night . Her name was imogen and was literally everywhere doing all jobs. I come to this pub yearly to meet friends and watch the Six Nations Rugby. Staff are really friendly, great atmosphere really lovely pub! Plenty of screens for sport.

Joint birthday meal with family and booked well in advance. A bit disappointed as they had no fish and no steak pie atb7pm on a Friday evening. We chose alternatives but was once again disappointing as it seems both the Fox and Hounds and The Three Arches have let us down with the Fish and chips.. the food we had was ok but wondered why so early on a Friday evening they run out of Fish and Steak Pie??? Bad management maybe? Most people in the pub were drinkers for the rugby!
