We just happened upon this restaurant and are so glad that we did. The tika masala was outstanding, as was the cheese Naan, the chai masala, popadoms, and strawberry and cream cheesecake.

There are many elements to moving home, but identifying quality providers of food has always been high on my list. So, when I finally relocated to Foulridge (near my home town of Burnley) I set out to find the best butcher, best baker and best restaurants of all kinds. Word of mouth and online reviews pointed me towards Four Elephants, a short stroll from my new home, although quality of food and reliability of service always come way ahead of distance for me. I ordered online, and after mulling over the pleasing array of options, decided on Sweet Chilli Paneer, followed by South Indian Lamb Garlic Chilli, Sag Paneer and Mushroom Pilau. I confess that I was delighted - and even a little surprised - by the very smart appearance and warm atmosphere of Four Elephants, and also by the number of customers at such an early hour (6-30pm). All too often, restaurant bars are afterthoughts, but this was cosy, very well-stocked, with ample seating, and run by an efficient and gregarious manager, which dovetailed perfectly with the adjacent dining area. I didn’t drink, as I’d ordered my meal for 7pm collection and the time was close, but even before my food arrived, I’d decided it was a pleasant spot for future visits. Back home, I was delighted even before I began my starter, to see that the chef had placed the chunky cubes of paneer in two neat rows on top of the sauce, as if I’d been dining at the restaurant. It’s long been said that we eat with our eyes, so to see someone taking such pride in presentation for a new customer’s takeaway was very pleasing. The paneer was excellent, the sauce was sweet and dense, and the onions and vegetables were in bite-sized chunks, so there was texture as well as taste. Likewise, with the saag aloo, where the chef had taken care to leave the potatoes as tasty mouthfuls, not the microscopic pieces regularly found in this dish. The main course was an equal delight, the lamb was tender (I assumed it had been marinaded) and the warmth which came through as I ate was subtle rather than overpowering. It’s rather sad to recall, but as I sat in my living room. I was saying how lovely the meal was … although there was no-one there to hear. Have since returned twice, been contented with all my choices, and sipped a pint of draught Kingfisher on those occasions to ensure my tastebuds were fully ‘awake’ for the pleasure awaiting them. Price-point isn’t crucial to me, but having eaten Indian food in Wolverhampton, Birmingham and Coventry in recent weeks, this was excellent value, and matched anything I’ve eaten in those cities for quality of ingredients and preparation.

I'm sure it can be quite challenging for your staff to look after a group of 9 adults but we were extremely well looked after by your very patient staff and the food was amazing. We have been visiting the Four Elephants for over 10 years now and never written a review before but I thought it was time to say that in all the time we have frequented this fabulous restaurant the standards have always remained high , the food is second to none and the staff attentive and friendly. It’s a little way from home but always worth the journey we always like to call when passing ether to use the restaurant or pick up a takeaway. I would highly recommend this brilliant Indian restaurant and will continue to visit for hopefully many years to come 🤞

We are staying Earby for Christmas and had a meal here on Christmas Eve. The service is very efficient and quick. The food was extremely good very tasty and beautifully presented. It was very good value for money and would definitely recommend to anyone.

First impressions were great,greeted and seated by warm friendly staff. Service was very good too but unfortunately the food let it down. Firstly served soft popadoms,not a good start,also the table opposite complained about theirs and sent them back. The mains arrived,four different types of curry but all tasted very similar with no flavour or texture. Everything else was fine,naan,rice chips etc but the curries really were very bland and it's for that reason we will not be returning. Shame really!

Don't go if you have any kind of food intolerance - the staff are seemingly incapable of presenting safe food and will gladly serve you food with known allergens in that they were alerted to when ordering and simply make jokes about it when the harm is pointed out to them, and proceed to charge you for the food they've served which causes health problems. Utterly irresponsible

First time in a few years since I last went. We was in a party of 6 family and friends. From the moment you step into the restaurant the service is exceptional. Nothing too much bother. The food was amazing cooked to perfection all nice and hot served on hot plates. We shall most definitely be paying more visits. Such happy smiling cheerful staff. We all had a fabulous night.

This was a takeaway, priced at nearly £40 for 2 people and most of the food was inedible. Soggy poppadoms, Bombay potatoes so hard inedible, nan bread like chewing elastic. Main courses ok but not much chicken in mine. The rice was OK. Phoned to complain only offered some replacement dishes. Too late, never again.

Best Indian Restaurant In The Area . Visited Again Recently And The food Was Excellent As Always . Staff are Very Polite And Helpful. I Cannot Fault This Restaurant.

One of the best restaurants around. Truly Beautiful food, some of the nicest foods we have had in the area and the views from the restaurant are amazing. We travel regularly from Manchester it's that good! We go at least once a month. Staff are always lovely and we can always expect hot and well prepared foods with no drama and no drop on quality.

I am vegan and gluten intolerant and this restaurant not only caters to my needs perfectly, but the food is truly beautiful. The staff are SO obliging and the restaurant is sparkling clean. Honestly some of the best Indian food I have ever eaten, highly recommend if you’re in the area and even if you’re not, it’s worth the drive.

Called with my partner and my son along with his girlfriend. Was a triple celebration as it was my sons girlfriends birthday, they had been together a year, and she had just past her driving test. So was hoping for this to be a fabulous night.Which it was, outstanding food and service. Popadoms and chutneys to start and I had chicken naga naga... delicious.All washed down with a cobra or 2.Fabulous evening, big thanks to all the staff !

We have been to the 4 Elephants restaurant many times and taken most of our friends there at one time or another. We have always had excellent service from polite well dressed staff. The food also has always been superb. Our friends envy us such a good Indian restaurant so near to our home. Would recommend them to everyone.

Haven’t been here for a few years and was looking forward to see if it had changed. Menu isn’t as comprehensive as it used to be, however, there’s plenty of choice and it makes a change to have different dishes than the standard fare at most Indian restaurants. Staff were friendly and I can’t criticise anything. Dropped a mark as the rose wine choice wasn’t great so drank a nice white instead.

Loses a mark for being, shall we say, a tad reticent at giving out the early bird menu. Which was more than adequate for our needs but if one of our party had not been here before we could have ordered the same meals at higher than required prices. Disingenuous.Which is a pity because the food is good, in decent portions. The view (should you be facing the front windows) has to be one of the best from an Indian restaurant in the country. Service very good indeed. Just that reticence...

We went on a Saturday evening and parking the car, enjoy the view! The restaurant was lively and chatty, a good sign. The ordering/bar area was a comfy place to sit and peruse the menu. Food was good, slightly limited choice but everything was well cooked and very tasty. Wine list pretty good and reasonable prices. Staff were friendly and attentive. Owner was very nice too! Look forward to going back soon.

This is by no means our first visit to this restaurant which in itself should say something. The staff are all helpful and they will even prepare something which isn't on the menu if you ask which we have done in the past. Our group consisted of people with differing tastes and each meal was served at the level of 'heat' requested. Have already booked the next visit!

Went with a group of friends from work, it was a Madonna tribute night. Staff we very welcoming and helpful, food was amazing and the Madonna tribute as was very good..... superb night all in all and would highly recommend this restaurant

My son and daughter treated me to a meal here for mothers day, it's the first time I've been since it's been the four elephants,and I have to say I will definitely be going again, the meal was lovely, from the starter to the main course, the waiters and waitress's were all very attentive, the service was quick, but we were not rushed in any way,despite it being mothers day and it being busy,overall a very enjoyable evening.

A group of us visited mid week for a birthday meal. Service was great and we were looked after well. Food was tasty and we would definitely visit again. We checked online and noticed a discount voucher on their Facebook page and when we mentioned this our bill was discounted which was a bonus. A good time was had by all.

We had a great meal starters very good the chefs specials were great quality for the main course. Lots of reviews say they were not happy but we had a great time.

We went for a Sunday buffet sat down and were given the menu, food and service were good but when the bill came they had charged us the standard price, when we asked bout the buffet price they said well you did ask for the buffet menu, excuse me we never got offered the menu!! over priced drinks very expensive. We thought we would try this place again as first time were not that good, well we ever be returning avoid !!!!!

We went for tea last night and was looking forward to it, as the decor is really nice and the Staff was lovely. But as soon as we was seated it was a disaster. The samosas arrived without any filling in, when sent back they came back exactly the same, also they brought the wrong drinks numerous times and when all the curry’s arrived, they forgot two of us. The food wasn’t tasty and for the price of it, was an absolute disappointment to say the least.

Returned to The Four Elephants after spending our family Christmas day last year which we loved.

Me and my partner visited the restaurant for only the 3rd time last Friday. Unknown to us party season had started and at 6.45 the restaurant was already filling up with large tables of works dos and a Elvis tribute was also scheduled to preform later on in the night. Dispite what was obviously going to be a very busy night for the staff we were welcomed by the owner who assured us he could fit us in and took us to a table and sat us down. Other couples were also sat around us in A quieter section of the restaurant. The staff were polite and took our orders taking time to check with the chef for allergy information. The food was outstanding and a credit to the chefs especially during such a busy night. If anything my main was a little hotter than I would have liked but Nevertheless very tasty and I have been assured by other customers since that this could be altered to a milder version on request. All in all a good value night and we will be returning!

This has been one of my regular Indian spot for a while. Food and service are always first class. Would recommend a try.

Staff were rude from the outset as we inconveniently ordered a small diet Coke and a large normal Coke from the bar. Whilst we waited for our food, the waitress came and asked if we wanted more drinks. A couple of people ordered drinks, including a diet Coke for our diabetic companion. Her drink arrived and was not diet, so we sent it back (another inconvenience for the staff who were very huffy about this). We got a replacement and then the waitress came over and said "you need to pay for those drinks now". We were baffled as this is not 'normal' in a restaurant. We were made to pay cash into the waitresses hand and told that if we want any more drinks, we must leave our table and go to the bar from now on.

It's a shame it isn't busier here mid week, maybe a mid week offer would be a good idea. The food and service was brilliant as always, never have a complaint.

Rang to reserve a table with a voucher and was told yes we could have a table that same evening which was a Saturday at 7.30.

Really nice guy behind the bar , very chatty . Food though was just very average . Tikka masala was just the same as a korma , way too much coconut .

As the title says good food lovely staff, well presented food and a nice atmosfear, we went with friends and we all enjoyed our meal, my wife had tandoori chicken, our girlfriend had saagwala, myself and our male friend had southern indian garlic chilli chicken, it was delicious, we all had poppadoms and mixed chutneys to start.

Visited the restaurant as part of large group of friends. The service was excellent...efficient and friendly. The food was delicious and served piping hot. Been to this local place a few times. Had family over and went there one night. The bill unbelievably came to £100 on the nose, I had a 20% off voucher which as soon as I put it on the bar, the manager began to waffle to the guy taking the money from me and then tried to attract my attention shaking my hand and making small talk. The guy came back with a new bill which was £92. Now you don't need to be a rocket scientist to work that one out. Anyway I didn't want to argue so I just paid and come away. Now I've been in again after work alone and ordered a lamb blussi which is under £10, 2 chapattis which are about £1 each, and a small coke to drink. The bill was £18.30. I don't understand why a nice restaurant serving decent food has to do it. They just spoil it for themselves. They have lost a good customer and a few more.

Been here many times but never thought to review it before. First of all we never re-visit restaurants unless they meet our standard. However The Four Elephants is excellent in every respect. The staff are always friendly and welcoming usually taking time to come and have a chat with us. The food is excellent, served promptly, plenty of it and very tasty. No complaints at all. When very busy, which it often is, it can be a bit noisy but that is to be expected and would apply in many restaurants.

On arriving there was an early bird menu, but we were told we could not have it due to us paying with gift vouchers. I explained the vouchers were paid for in cash so were the equivalent of cash but they wouldn’t let us have it. So we had the food from the early bird menu but paid a higher price. Then I tried to order a 2nd drink but the waiter said there was a problem & they couldn’t serve alcohol suddenly. The waiter didn’t know the reason why. But we could see alcoholic drinks being poured behind the bar and served to other people in the restaurant. We then came to pay with our £50 of gift vouchers but as they were split as a £20, £20, £10 they said we could only use 1 per visit. I said we had been bought the £50 of vouchers as a present for a meal out and why can’t we use them all. Eventually they let us use them. I also asked again why they suddenly stopped selling alcohol and he said they realised the license had run out. But that didn’t explain why they were serving some people. A very disappointing visit.

14 of us arrived on a Saturday evening,it's a good job we had booked a table, the restaurant was full, I had my doubts as to whether the food would be spot on given the numbers they catered for., but I had no need to worry We were all delighted with our choices and the service was excellent. Went for a birthday meal with family and friends. The food was good and the service also. The shocker was when the bill arrived. They had added an extra £100 to the bill and when questioned said it was a slip of the finger on the calculator. Not very impressed!

Popped in on a Sunday afternoon to an empty restaurant bar three people already seated in this barn of a place. I was asked by the Manager if I had a reservation. No, but somehow they managed to squeeze us in on one of the dozens of empty tables.

Enjoy eating here - prefer the take aways! Lamb chops are my favourite. Sometimes gets quite noisy in the restaurant as the acoustics aren't great. Would visit again.

I have been here a few times now the most recent for a works Christmas get together. The service, food, staff value for money was all perfect!! Excellent food and very welcoming staff, we were even given a voucher to spend with them as a Christmas gift. Would absolutely recommend this place to others.

Came here for a girls outing/Christmas do. It was brilliant! Felt really well looked after, the staff are brilliant! Thought it might’ve been a set menu with ‘safe’ things to chose from, but it wasn’t. No need to order starters as a selection was brought out, and then we ordered any Main from the menu which I was pleased about as I like to try new things...but I did end up going for a favourite of mine - the fish johl special which was excellent! Highly recommend. The Robbie Williams tribute act seemed to come on quite late, although as we were in a big group we were busy chatting amongst ourselves anyway. The act was very good! Really good night, enjoyed by all. Thank you!

Went xmas eve busy but despite that the staff where excellent and food tasty as usual. . I had the mums fish dish and a few pints highly reccomended

I've been here about 10 times in the last 2-3 years, and have never been disappointed. we even had a works Christmas night out last year in here, and could not believe the bill when it came back, we had starters, mains, desserts, loads of drinks, bottles of wine, and it came to just under £500 for 20 of us. I don't know if was discounted, or they never worked it out correctly, but for what we all ate and drank and ended up paying £25 each I thought was staggering value. The food is excellent I've never had a bad dish and I've tried about 7-8 different dishes and starters. They always instantly recognize me and treat me like an old long lost friend. I always get a free shot of my choice at the end of the night as I'm paying. The service is excellent and always friendly and with a smile. All in all one of the best Indian restaurants around.

The food here is great, we are regular customers for a dine in meal as well as takeaways. Over the past month we have been here twice, a table of 4 both times and spent around £100.00 per time. We have always thought it was a bit more expensive but we feel you get what you pay for. The place is really nice but the staff can sometimes be to much, clearing plates away before people have finished, rushing to get the table cleared up, i assume so they can get the table back for the next customers. This doesn't usually bother us too much.

The owner, manager and waiters are all friendly and attentive. Unlike so many restaurants, the waiters continually keep an eye on you and respond immediately to any request. The generous amounts of food are excellent, in quality.

We booked for a midweek meal at this lovely restaurant. The service was second to none and the choice available on the menu was plentiful. We eventually decided to have the poppadoms and pickle tray followed by 2 of the house specials for main course. The food was of exceptional quality along with very attentive service. Wow just wow - my new favourite place for Indian cuisine! There are so many tasty dishes on the menu. It's lovely inside and we were well looked after. We all enjoyed our food! It's well priced, and I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. I can definitely recommend one of the specials - can't remember the name but it was monk fish with a prawn bhaji side! So full of flavour and perfectly cooked! Perfect!

Called in on off chance early on a Saturday evening returning from Manchester airport. Very busy, mainly with groups and families, but found us a table. Service was good and friendly considering how busy the place was and prices were reasonable. Well worth a visit.

This restaurant is the most magnificent Indian cuisine I have ever visited. I travel the UK extensively and have never experienced such professional service, exquisite tasty food in my life. I am very particular in my food choice but this proved no issue with the staff at The Four Elephants restaurant. I love Indian cuisine and this restaurant is one that you should never ever miss.

Seven of the team decided to try a different curry house to our usual one in the Skipton area. The food and service was very good. Enjoyed the variety of the mixed kebab starter. Main course was reasonable and had a nice taste. Keema rice was fantastic. Thought the Chicken Tikka Korahi was a bit too oniony. Apart from that we had a good time overall!

Went with some friends on a busy Friday night and we got a table, the staff are extremely friendly and they have something different on their menus instead of endless pages of the usual curry dishes.

A weekend in Barnoldswick and we thought we would have an Indian as a change to the pub food we had the night before.

Although I did enjoy the food and there was plenty of it I thought it was incredibly expensive. We were also told that we had to pay all together if we were paying on a card. It took a good half an hour to be able to pay because 2 people needed to pay by card and couldn't put 12 people's bills on their card. A lot of messing about really.... I was expecting a lot better.

Have been stopping in the area for about two months and this was my first experience in a local Indian restaurant. Dined here with colleagues and was a very pleasurable experience. The food was second to none. The beer (Kingfisher) on draft and service was excellent. The staff were polite and attentive and you could not ask for more. The surroundings are modern and contemporary. Bit out of the way but easily reached by car or taxi. Well worth a visit. Overall a very enjoyable experiece

Went to a Banquet with a local club, great attention and great food, however a little on the high side cost wise and we had to remind the waiters about our change when we paid for coffee with a note!

I gave been to the four elephants several times and always enjoyed the food, the staff are helpful and pleasant. I would recommend trying the mixed starter and the chefs special.

Had heard good reports before going. Was very happy to see fish curries on the menu. Had a monkfish curry with a prawn bhaji. Very very tasty. Wine good too. Staff couldn't do enough.

This place may seem a little bit expensive, but they serve good quality food. They have a range of 'standard' curry house dishes as well as more interesting ones, including some lovely sizzlers served on hot (presumably cast iron) dishes. I had a lovely pulled lamb type dish there recently. Rice and bread are both excellent too. Service has been faultless every time I've been.
