They need to shut this place down. Yes nice family but it’s done. Everything is outdated from The decor to the food , cleanliness awful. Worst Ice cream ever, tasted stale like freezer burn with instant coffee specs in it. Total place needs revamped

I've been a loyal customer of this family run ice cream shop for quite some time, always looking forward to enjoying their delightful flavors. Unfortunately, my experiences have been marred by consistently rude service from one particular staff member— the lady who owns the shop with her husband. Every time I visit, I can't help but notice her stark contrast in demeanor. Just today, for instance, I walked in and saw her beaming with joy while serving a white elderly gentleman ahead of me in line. It was almost as if she was putting on a show, chatting animatedly and making him feel special. However, as soon as he finished and it was my turn, her entire expression changed. The smile vanished, replaced by a frown, and I was met with nothing more than a half-hearted "What do you want?" There was no genuine greeting or warmth, just an icy reception that left me taken aback. After me there was a young white boy, which she greeted again with the same enthusiasm asking him about his holidays and proceeding to have general chit chat. This isn't an isolated incident; it's a pattern I’ve observed during my multiple visits. Her attitude raises questions about her biases—whether she's simply unfriendly or has a deeper issue with certain customers. It certainly feels as if she is either racist or Islamophobic, which is incredibly disheartening, especially in an area I grew up in and prides itself on diversity and inclusion. On a brighter note, I must commend her husband who also works at the shop. He is exceptionally lovely and always treats everyone with kindness and respect. His presence is a refreshing contrast to the her, and it’s clear he genuinely enjoys his job and values his customers. While the ice cream is certainly worth a visit, the rude service from this staff member has left a sour taste in my mouth. I hope for the sake of her business she takes note of this consistent behaviour and considers making changes, as it could significantly improve the overall experience for customers and the retention of some of the most loyal customers of the shop. Overall she’s not a very nice person and we live in 2024 the world is changing she contributes to all the horrible things going on in the world. It would be nice to be greeted with a smile human to human!

Where can I start? I have been coming here since i could eat ice cream, and it has never ever dissappointed. Such lovely staff and the best ice cream ever! When I get asked what I want to do that is based in chiswick fouberts is always apart of my plan it is affordable and so worth the price!

Pizza was a bought/premade factory pizza base. It seemed like they had bought a pizza from waitrose (a very cheap range) and put some extra cheese on the top. Very bland. Service was very nice, but the elderly woman was actually quite rude. We got bothing but dirty looks from her, the other staff were all very very nice and accommodating.

Visit this quaint Italian hermit for ice cream, desserts, or other Italian food. Don't forget to try their fresh orange juice as well.

12.05.24: Omg, the Que says it all… that this place sells the BEST ice cream and so many flavours. I loved it so much I returned for seconds an hour later. This will be my go to and they do Lemon Ice Cream 😍🤤 Thank u 🫶

The worst coffee & hot chocolate we've ever had.. Was bad when I tried the coffee a year ago but thought I'd try It again as maybe my first experience was just a bad day/time? No.. It's actually gotten worse. Was disgusting & cheap. A great shame..🫤 Gave us headaches.. They weren't even reasonable In price. Fouberts Is great for some things but unfortunately coffee/hot chocolate Is definitely not one of them! Think I'll just stick to the odd ice-cream here & there In the summer..

I live in Miami and every time I’m in London, I comment to Foubert’s! Best Ice Cream in the world! The Café is nice inside. Recommend Pate and Toast for Breakfast. Hotel room is always clean and warm. People/service is very nice. Great place!

Delicious ice cream and beautiful sitting area. There are toilets I'm especially fond of their rose water ice cream, highly recommended. A worthy treat. It has pretty wooden boards, comfy seats and lovely green lamps. Very atmospheric

Its very good and famous place their ice creams are very good taste, good Italian restaurant with heart warming owners.

I have lived in Chiswick for 8 years and only used this place once or twice for there lovely ice cream but just never really had the chance to come back until today,it’s a very cosy old school type cafe,the chicken soup and the chicken casa were delicious as was the apple and ice cream,great chefs,and lovely young girl working and ran by a lovely older couple,will definitely be coming back soon.

I find that a sneaky ice cream after a particularly taxing day, makes the world alright place again. I love Fouberts. Homely and unassuming. A place to have conversation or simply watch the world go by. ASMR for my soul.

I went here and said “it looks nice- is it made here?” , the owner gave me a rude patronising & defensive reply with an angry look: “WHAT?!!!!! OF COURSE IT IS!!!!!” as if everyone should know. Odd response. It was just a question.

Best Italian ice-cream in Chiswick

The old female owner of this ice cream place was extremely rude and disrespectful. She insulted me in her language under her breath and shouted at me to pay in front of other customers. I can’t help but think it was due to my headscarf as all other customers there were treated much better. I greeted her with a smile and nothing but kindness and was met with cruelty. This place doesn’t even deserve the one star rating.

The food and the atmosphere of this place is amazing. It is calm and friendly.

Whenever in Chiswick my family and I always dine here. The food is amazing, so authentic!

Delicious Italian gelato, a wide range of flavours and the owners are very friendly and nice.

Food is horrible. Pasta is pre cooked and it is like eating a gum. Service even worst.

FOUBERTS is the ONLY ice cream shop/cafe YOU should visit in CHISWICK. My mother used to go there every Sunday after church. I remember pressing my face up to the glass and looking at all the different colours and flavours. I was 7/8 years old at the time and I'm going back to the 1970s and this place is STILL HERE!!! (I used to live in DALE ST.) I am now 53 years old. My FAVOURITE is RUM and RAISIN mixed with a scoop of COFFEE FLAVOUR. The cream is DELICIOUS and as SMOOTH as BUTTER. I PROMISE YOU, YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED. and YOU WILL DEFINITELY BE GOING BACK FOR MORE.... 🤣

The food is affordable and good. The staff is friendly. First time trying the coke float and it was a great experience. Would go again if I am in the neighbourhood.

Delicious ice cream, will definitely be going back for more. £5 for a large cup which was quite a generous amount. This place is a total time warp, expect wooden interiors and a general old fashioned vibe. They accept card, which is helpful. And it stays open late, I visited after 9pm on a bank holiday 😊

We Came to this little place one afternoon with my husband and two small children. The place is dated, but I love it! it has "Happy days" style seats. Characteristic and very welcoming and familiar place. We had two coffees, very good, a tiramisu and a chocolate ice cream. Maria was very kind and helpful with us and spoke good Italian. It's not an expensive place and we had a good time. I think next time we'll try the much-advertised “stufatino”.

Popped in from the rain for an ice cream in the evening, the place was quiet but a very friendly welcome and I was invited to stay sat inside after I finished, to shelter from the rain. Very reasonably priced and lovely atmosphere - a lady told me as she was leaving that she has been coming here since the 1950s!

Foubert gives excellent value for money! The host, nice old couple. The breakfast, delicious. Rooms, clean, very neat and tidy.

Definitely ice cream and not gelato, convenient location near to Turnham Green tube station. Better gelato places nearby - but if you are looking for a few scoops of ice cream it’s not bad.

Foubert’s is just off Chiswick High Road and is famous for their ice cream in this area. We tried the pistachio ice cream to go which was lovely and very creamy. Definitely worth a visit.

Scoops a lot smaller now... Used to be a our favorite place. Not any more.

Feel scamed. Good flavours. Used to go to this place for years, but this time came with my husband and the sizes of both of our ice cream scoops were like for babies. Paid £8 and feel completelly robbed. No wonder there is no customers in the shop anymore.

Unfortunately won’t be coming back there. Rude staff. I asked for 3 flavours ice cream. The lady asked me to choose the size of the cup. I chose middle size. Then she makes rude comments that I cant have 3rd flavour there. There are better places in the area.

What a beautiful experience! I went in today, for the first time, after I fancied a pasta I saw on the menu. Hearty fresh homemade food that tasted just like grandma's when I was a kid. After so many disappointments when it comes to finding tasty traditional Italian food around London, THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO! Can't recommend it enough. I'll be a regular very soon, and there's plenty to try, from snacks, proper mains, and ice cream you'll only find here. Fantastico. Grazie mille!

What a gem! Welcoming, relaxing and brilliant fresh vegetable soup. Perfect place to spend some time reading, having coffee or a glass of wine, and seeing lots of locals come and go.

Family owned, unique and quaint superb ice cream, it's Italy in Chiswick. Everyone goes here young, old, family, couples, you can seat if you want. It's good!

What an amazing find! A truly authentic Italian place, with great atmosphere, friendly staff and fantastic gelato! You have over 20 flavours to choose from, some of which are absolute classics, but there’s also quite a few that are a bit more adventurous (rose water!). Good luck deciding what you’re having. The owner, a lovely gentleman in his eighties, is still running strong, and chatting to him only added to our experience. Highly recommended!

The BEST ice cream in London hands down! I’ve been going regularly since they were further along the high street, and though they’ve downsized, their ice cream remains the same delicious quality it’s been since the 80s. A real treasure, highly recommend.

I love the ice-cream here. There are other competitors in the area, some are creamier, some are sweeter but I find the flavours here are better. They don't rely as much on cream and sweetness but the flavours of the ingredients shine through. I can taste the roasted hazelnuts in the hazelnut flavour and the coffee flavour is more intense than others, probably the best coffee ice-cream I've had!

I would never consider going for ice cream elsewhere ever! I've been coming here since a children's mix special was 30p! Three generations of my family have been raised through these doors come rain or shine! If you haven't bribed your child with a Fouberts are you even a real Chiswickian?
