The food was disappointing and not as good as the reviews suggested. There were a few decent dishes and some that you would wish you hadn't ordered. Please be wary of the high review rate, as it does not reflect the actual quality.

Very busy on a Friday night with a mixed audience from families with children to couples on dates. We were unfortunately squeezed in between 2 families and got noisy from 4 sets of handheld devices used for games or videos. I never stop to wonder why the parents don’t give their little ones headphones so the rest of the place can have a nice evening. Starters were really nice, grilled octopus and burrata. Can recommend both of them. Carbonara for main was not good at all. It looked like the dish had been sitting around for a while before it was brought out with the sauce starting to dry. Not a lot of flavour, lacking both salt and pepper. The guanciale on my dish was all fat. I know that cut is supposed to be fatty but lightly fried 0,5 inch lumps of fat was just disgusting! I told 2 members of staff who apologised and promised to deduct something from the bill. That didn’t happen… Not the normal experience but unfortunately the one I’m now left with and I’ll give it some time before coming back.

Been twice to Cottura. I do think it’s good. Nice location, nice space. On our visit the other day, I had the bresaola and the pasta with crab sauce. The bresaola was lovely and the pasta was a good idea, largely executed well. It was just too salty. My mother’s mushroom pasta was also too salty. We’re not averse to salt or anything! I very rarely think any meal in a restaurant is too salty for context. The wine is also slightly too expensive for what it is. Also surprised me slightly that dogs are allowed in a restaurant of this style. I think we all are ok with dogs in gastropubs, but in a more white table cloth kind of place, it did kind of surprise me when the staff brought out a bowl of water for the dog (not an assistance dog by the way). I like the simplicity of the menu though and the food is certainly tasty!

Stumbled upon this lovely place last night, with my girlfriend, and we were blown away by the service, the ambiance and of course, the food - even the music was on point! It’s a case of when, not if, we’ll be back (very soon!). 10/10

Cosy atmosphere and tasty pasta dishes. The helpings are quite small and you have to have three courses to feel replete. Not cheap but pleasant for a meal if you are not too hungry.

First time at Cottura, food was good but it did surprise me the majority of the pasta sauces are either melted butter or oil, I’m a good cook so it wasn’t very exciting for me. The focaccia was excellent. House wine was very good too and reasonably priced (£27 per bottle). We were seated on the side close to the bar, it lacked atmosphere and was a busy corridor to the toilet and kitchen which was very intrusive. It wasn’t evident who was in charge, this was also a bit strange.

This is such a fantastic place - we sampled most of the dishes between us , each one tastier than the last. Wines very reasonably priced and most available as carafe - perfect for couples. Pasta doesn’t get any better than this!

Really nice addition to the neighbourhood … very nice menu, delicious reasonably priced food and professional service that is genuinely warm and friendly but not intrusive. Nice wines but could use a few in the £20-25 range as the least expensive are closer to £30 and above. Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is portion size of the ravioli which was more like a starter than a main. Portions were fine otherwise and I am sure we will return.

We were very surprised when we saw that an Italian restuarant, Cottura had moved in to the vacated Michael Nadra restaurant adjacent to the very good Italian Tarantella. My reaction was "Oh no,not another Italian"! But Cottura is a bit different and I am now so glad we gave it a try - eventually several times! The food is excellent, not least the Octopus salad and the Spinnach and Borrage Ravioli. Added to this, the dining experience is enhanced by the appropriately attentive staff. It makes such a diffence and Manuel, Simon and Alexandra have added a lot to our dining experience at Cottura. Not surprisingly, I gather that it is a family owned and run restaurant. We wish them every success.

We had an incredible lunch at Cottura today, and on the off chance of stopping by to squeeze us in for a late lunch, we were welcomed by Simon, who was really attentive throughout our meal, and you could tell he had passion for the food and restaurant, which was infectious. The food is so fresh, and we wished we had the time to stay longer to enjoy more dishes. We ate the focaccia, followed by beetroot, celeriac and clementine salad and both had the ox cheek Reginette - which was incredible. Thanks to both Simon and Shayda for making us feel so welcome and setting the vibe!! We’ll definitely be back!! 😊

So, i mucked up the dates for the restaurant we were going to and they suggested a number of restaurants nearby and mentioned there was a new Italian one called Cottura. We walked up to it and thought we would give it a go. We looked at the menu and thought it was a little limited BUT IN NO WAY let your self be put off by that. There are, I think,8 main course dishes and the two we had were out of this world. My wife's seafood dish had flavours coming out of everywhere, best dish we have ever tasted in any Italian restaurant. My one of ox cheeks was very good too. Apparently the truffle tagliatelli is even better according to all the staff. The staff were the loveliest staff we have ever met in a restaurant, so kind and charming, keen to advise or just chat. The meal was very reasonably pirced with 3 courses, a bottle of lovely Nero d'Avola and service charge coming to £100 Apparently it is a family run restaurant and that shows in the food and staff We will be going back very soon, I can promise that

Been coming here for 30 years and it never fails to impress with a wide range of traditional dishes and specialties such as fresh tuna, veal chop etc The main courses include 3 vegetables which is amazing value and the pastas delicious. The Christmas turkey meal was the best ever as was the veal chop in butter and sage. Daniel and his team make for a great atmosphere and they are especially kind to their elderly customers so good for the whole family. Pizzas are made by hand on the premises but no fresh pasta.

Lounge area and bar amazing, very cosy and great ambiance. Went there for a birthday meal and we all had the lunch set menu. Food was good and service was impeccable. Great wines too🍷
