Great pint of the Holt's beer range, and a warm welcome.

Really like this place, reminds me of how pubs used to be. Very much a no-nonsense place to enjoy a drink. Bar staff are dead friendly too, always good for a chat.

Lovely atmosphere , clean and definitely worth another visit.... IPA is gorgeous .

The girls in our group were so happy that they could stand at the bar supping Holts Smooth and play 501 on the darts board. Look at my other reviews to see where I've been!

Went in recently for a round of darts. Ended up receiving a round of patronising abuse by a “senior” at the pub. Sadly, frequented by Gammons. Viva la Gen Z

It's a local of mine and I know the staff and the people in there who are friendly but as it's a holts pub not keen on the beers and prices

Cant say much for the pub itself, your typical holts bar, with your like furniture regulars. Frank, the landlord is quick to dish a barring out, c*nt would Barr his own mother if one of his precious regulars took a disliking to her.

My first choice as service great and staff serve me quickly and correctly.

A standard Holts pub, more suited for the older person, but you can have a good time the people are friendly

It was so nice to be back in the Forester's, it's been a long wait but was definitely worth it! The atmosphere was as friendly as always, there was plenty of banter between friends and even strangers, everyone was happy to be out. Masks were worn, there was hand gel and space inbetween tables. The barmaids were looking after everyone via table service and were doing an amazing job even though the pub was busy. Looking forward to our next visit already.

Typical Holts pub. Basic but tidy and clean inside. Usual great Holts beers on draught and in bottles. Very reasonabley priced. In fact dirt cheap compared to some places. Dark mild on hand pump which is a rarity nowadays. Tasty as.

Came in for a quick drink to shelter from the wind and rain it is what you call a proper pub nice and cosy and serves a nice I.p.a what more could you ask for

Love going in on a Saturday as all horseracing 🏇 is on. For racing fans a must, not bad ale either, especially the diamond an gold 👍🏇🥂

Always a relaxed and friendly experience. Beer always on top form. Kath and Frank are brilliant at keeping out the riff raff (other than myself). Best pub in Prestwich village!

Bar staff are great, beer is nuts and bolts(it's holt's) karaoke on a Sunday night is unrivaled, but there's always this gurner in there with an Irish girl telling me I'm a nice guy

Proper Holts pub. You know what I mean..... Apparently my uncle was the landlord here many years ago, so it was probably in the 50's.

Love the speed quiz on Tuesdays and the karioke on Sundays is entertaining. Nice bunch of people.

The good old Foresters. The first ale house I ever ventured into in 1985. You cannot argue with the calibre of the beer tasters in this place.........they'd beat you up! The bitter has a wonderful malty but slightly fruity taste upon the tongue(well it does if your eating Opal Fruits at the same time!) My young son asked if I would take him to see some horses....so I brought him in here to watch the racing! I asked a friendly looking fellow if he had picked any winners? He looked at me and said 'no,but you can pick any window!' The landlady was nice and cheerful though,she only threatened to slit my throat once! On a more serious note though,this is a good watering hole for people like me......alcoholics! I lit a cigarette in the lounge and the landlord rushed over to me and said'You can't smoke that in here.......get in the vault with it!' They even have pockets on the pool table! Great night,good beer,good company and good night.
