Terrible restaurant and terrible service. Very rude manager. It was very pricey for the quality of food and service received.

What a fantastic experience. The food was amazing, the service was impeccable and the price was very reasonable. We wanted a fish restaurant and the menu was great. It was exactly what we were looking for. A good vibe in the restaurant and great atmosphere. We were very happy.

Went to Flute last evening, having arrived in Bath in the afternoon and wandering about wondering where to eat. Went in to check the menu..oddly there was only a Valentines menu being shown in the window, and met Attilla, who has recently moved from the Scallop Shell and who we have known for many years as we nearly always have lunch at the Scallop Shell ( also highly recommended) before doing to watch Bath rugby. My wife is virtually a pescatarian, and the menu fishy choices sounded interesting, so we booked. The restaurant has a reputation for cocktails, and while we did not try any, we did view a thrilling demonstration of a champagne old fashioned being prepared! The tempura batter on some tasty prawns was amazingly light..apparently a mixture of rice flour, tapioca flour and gluten free self raising flour . The Marie rose sauce was delicious My wife had a sea bass fillet with a creamy sauce and I had a seafood linguine..which were excellent. Washed down with a buttery Macon Village for £52 a bottle that is apparently the owners favourite. A shared sticky toffee pudding was light and delicious. There were only 5 people dining, which was a shame, but perhaps folk are holding back this week for Valentines Day..when Flute apparently has 65 people booked! Surely it should be an even number unless Bath has a ménage a trios tendency! The staff were excellent and the experience is strongly recommended. Try it!

Good to see that Flute is now concentrating on being a fish restaurant rather than the one time mix of bistro, restaurant and cocktail bar. Even better that we took advantage of their offer to double the value of vouchers bought. Starters were tempura prawns, scallops and dressed crab. All were excellent. Mains were the monkfish special and sea bass. Again, both were excellent. Cocktails and a few glasses of wine from their extensive wine list were much enjoyed. Service is friendly, efficient and not too formal. The manager clearly enjoys what he doing and does it well.

A casual and relaxed atmosphere. Our seafood linguine was very tasty and had a spicy sauce with it. Lemon tart was very good but could have done with something with it, such as a raspberry coulis or some cream. Staff were very friendly and attentive.

¡Flauta! ¡Reúnete o falla!

What an awful customer experience. We both had the burger which, as we pointed out on completion tasted sour and was rather hard. The waiter was indifferent to this and no apology was given, indeed his service was pretty off hand throughout. On going up to pay (also using our 2for1 tastecard), we were expecting the meal to be discounted or comp’d but not only did we have to pay the full figure but he had the audacity to add a service charge too. The restaurant doesn’t have an email address so we contacted them on FB messenger immediately on return home, we only live a few hundred yards away, expecting an early reply. By 1630 today we guessed they weren’t going to respond and called them. What then transpired was 2 tense and very unprofessional phone calls. In the first one he insisted we hadn’t complained, we had, and that we didn’t highlight it earlier, we did. He promised to call us back and duly did. He offered a further 10% discount saying that we’d already got a reduction through our taste card. We reminded him that’s a scheme they’ve signed up to and we pay a fee for and he just replied “well not everyone has it”. When we again reminded him that’s he had given poor service last night he got incredibly defensive and said “I’m not happy with you criticising my service, goodbye!” And hung up! Given his attitude we now feel we cannot return to this restaurant as there would not be an atmosphere where we felt welcome and relaxed. This is particularly disappointing given we have been regular visitors since they opened and indeed dined there on their opening day. Mostly this is a very decent restaurant but this member of staff is clearly misemployed in hospitality! As an aside, other diners were informed certain menu staples had sold out. At 8:30pm. This is not the first time we’ve overheard or indeed experienced this conversation ourselves.

Recommended spot for a fishy lunch.Take seats overlooking the walkways for watching the passeggiata in Bath. The sticky toffee pudding has to be the best ever.

Bath has so many restaurants to choose from but Flute appealed as the menu was a bit different. We had the sole burger and the seafood linguine which were both delicious. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was chilled.

First the positives. The staff are great. Attentive and friendly. The food is good. But, like so many Bath restaurants, far too expensive. 3 scallops £16. Very tasty but come on. We had Cocktails, house wine, starters & mains £280 for 4. £70 a head. Crazy prices for well cooked but very small portions. The concept is great and you can make it. But re think. Increase portions or reduce prices. If you don’t I’ll give you a year. Lovely food, but at the current prices we will not be back.

Last minute trip to Bath so really pleased we managed to book a table. Lots of fish options on the menu and as my husband and I love a good fish pie we both choose that. We declined a starter as fish pies are often rather filling. Did wait a while, however, that wasn’t an issue as the serving staff are brilliant. We were greeted by Liv on arrival who was very charming as was the newly in post manager Naomi and the guy, whose name I didn’t serving the drinks. However, the food wasn’t as good as we had hoped. I commented to Naomi when asked about the food that I preferred it with potatoes on top, and was told it was a potato puree … which actually tasted like a very thick sauce which made the dish drier than usual, The smoked fish overpowered the more delicate taste of the other fish, although there was a good amount of fish in the dish. Additional potatoes were ordered and came quickly so didn’t miss out on our potato fix! Would definitely visit again, would just try another dish as the front of house staff and the ambiance made it a very pleasant Saturday evening.

I’m travelling from Australia and have just spent a month in Europe where I have been repeatedly disappointed particularly with muscles but last night, sharing the seafood platter I was not disappointed!!! It was fresh tasty and of generous portions compared to other I have more recently! The service was excellent without being pushy, a great experience with friends! Thank you!

This was our first visit to Flute, and the welcome was warm and bubbly. We chose the fixed price lunch option of Foccacia, served with oil and vinegar for dipping. This was followed by Calamari, which were perfectly cooked and served on a light mayonnaise with a micro fennel garnish. The main course was mussels in a delightfully rich creamy sauce served with a large slice of crusty loaf. We chose two glasses of excellent Chardonnay to keep us company during our journey through the food. In all this was a beautiful meal served by friendly and efficient staff in a light and attractive environment.

This was one of the best fish restaurant's we have ever been to! We came to celebrate a family birthday and already can’t wait to visit again. The service was spot on, attentive without rushing us, we spent a few hours here enjoying the food and wine. We had the white Rioja which was delightful and said the cocktail menu looked brilliant and would be one to try next time. For starters we had a pint of prawns to share and they were some of the best prawns we ever had. We had mackerel pate which was delicious and calamari and everything was beautifully presented. For mains we had fish pies which were the best fish pie any of us had ever tried and came topped with a glorious king prawn. We also had the sole burger which was flawless and the citrus salmon salad. All the food was wonderful.

Really pleased with having no minimum order requirements when using 50% off any pizza as only my children want Dominos and previously I would have to buy quite a lot of food to reap any sort of benefits cost wise . The Food was delivered quite quick and apparently delicious. However, I ordered a half and half for my children. due to the way it was sliced and being different pizzas for each child , it turned out the portion size was unequal . The bigger child had less of the pizza than the smaller child. Also the younger child unfortunately had some meat on his side hidden under his extra cheesy side that he was not too impressed with. Something quite minor, however a huge deal to juniors and Toddlers Otherwise, we were happy, thank you

Restaurant was obviously really busy. The driver got our orders mixed up - not his fault as my order receipt was attached to the wrong bag. Changed it over after a phone call with the restaurant, but then found my order was missing an item. After all this, the food wasn’t great - not helped by the time it spent in the box on the back of a bike, I think the driver was delivering 5 other orders. Pretty sure this is the last time I order with this place. Shame.
