Restaurant was very busy but our waitress, Maria, made our experience a happy one. She was very friendly. Fast service and great food!

Absolutely love the food! the steak is made to perfection and the garlic mash is so creamy. Free ice cream in the end - just what you need to finish this amazing dinner. Maria our server was very friendly and did everything to make us feel special. Will we come back? That’s a big Yes!

We didn’t have a reservation but were able to get spots at the common table after only a 30 minute wait. Our server was fantastic. She explained the menu items and cuts. We ordered 2 Wagyu steaks and one flat iron. The truffle Mac and Cheese was amazing and the beef fat fries were decision. We had extra mushroom sauce with our steaks and dipped the fries in it. There is also a nice selection of specialty cocktails.

We recently enjoyed a delightful evening at Flat Iron Spitalfields and the standout of our experience was Elio, our server. From the moment we were seated, Elio went above and beyond to make us feel like VIP guests. He greeted us with a warm smile and was incredibly attentive, making sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Elio’s knowledge of the menu was exceptional. He guided us through the different cuts of steak and helped us select dishes that suited our tastes perfectly. He even recommended a wine pairing that complemented our meal wonderfully, which added so much to the dining experience. Beyond his professionalism, Elio’s genuine warmth and enthusiasm shone through in every interaction. He was attentive without hovering, checked on us at just the right times, and made sure every detail was taken care of. It’s rare to find service this thoughtful and personal, and it made our night truly special. Flat Iron in Spitalfields Front of house Peter was so welcoming, friendly and accommodating with my request to sit downstairs. Dan looked after us and was super customer focused nothing was too much trouble. Nicole and her colleague were really helpful too 10/10

Steak restaurant that serves... Steak. Mix of private and shared tables. Also had a cozy downstairs seating area. Simple menu. Well executed. Spinach was just OK. Other sides were very good. May experience a wait on some nights. Wait at the front bar for excellent service and cocktails.

Started evening out with my friend last night with drinks in flat iron! Amazing Margarita and Drunken Mule. After a bit of time we realised you can get free ice cream there after having food. So wanted to say big thank you to Maria for being so kind and giving us ice creams when we asked even when we had only drinks! And now we definitely will come back there again to try your steaks and to get more ice cream 😋

A big thank you to our server Elio, who went above and beyond to make our experience enjoyable. We came for a small birthday party, had a couple of cocktails and a lot of food. He helped us with drink choices and walked us through the menu. Our glasses were never empty and his knowledge of the menu was top notch. It makes a huge difference in a dining experience when you have a server as attentive and knowledgeable as him.

flat iron is my newest obsession!! my friend and i had a lovely post-work dinner. i got the scottish bavette with truffle mac & cheese and she had the flat iron steak with bone marrow garlic mash. we both loved our steak and our sides. we also both had a Tommy’s margarita which had hibiscus which i had never had before, it was really good. our total came to about £34 each and the free soft serve ice cream was such a nice touch. we will definitely be back!

Usually a great cheap eat but yesterday’s meal was entirely salty! The steak was cooked to perfection though, and service and ambience is always brilliant, so we did enjoy our dinner- just left very dehydrated! We also walked in and were allocated 3 seats on a communal table- but the spacing is super wide so I’d recommend committing to the communal table. you’re so far apart, you don’t register the other guests on the table

Perfect dinner! Elio was awesome and made sure we were looked after.

Small portions even though prices weren’t that expensive for London. We had to ask for water glasses 3 times. No checks back, food was lukewarm, we ate it as we were hungry and we didn’t want to wait any longer. Waitress bumped in my seat multiple times that I had to move my chairs to the side. Not even an apology. Not the greatest experience. I have to say the ice cream was really nice.

Amazing first experience. Attentive service and great food with steak cooked perfectly to your request. Mashed potato was so creamy and delicious and the free ice cream at the end made for the perfect finish!

After waiting for a table, we were seated at a bench I could barely squeeze into with my stuff. Even though it was a long table with many seats they decided to seat an annoyingly loud Essex couple next to us. The steak came cold and the chips covered in oil. A waste of £55. Would have happily walked 30 minutes to Covent Garden Flat Iron if only I knew.

It is one of the best places that serve meat in London. They only have one burger and pass it to Zeez. The mac and cheese is very amazing and I need the recipe so that I can live. The steak is very delicious. After lunch they gave us free ice cream.

I would like to say the atmosphere and service was exceptional, very professional and quick. The only disappointment was the portion sizes, small steak which was not well seasoned. The sides are also minuscule, served in shallow dishes. Had to reorder another steak and side of Mac n cheese, despite eating two steaks, two sides of chips and a side of bone marrow mash between two. Personally, I think the sides should be larger, oh and the sauce!! 1.50 for a small measley pot (Petri sized dish) of bernaise and peppercorn, the free ketchup and mayo were served in a bigger pot?! Apart from the portion sizes, which do need to be reviewed, it was tastey.

Came here for dinner a on the 6th October with a friend. To queue at the door isn’t what you want when you have a booking. The interior of the restaurant is lovely, but it is very loud & dim- not the kind of place I’d bring my mum. The food was delicious- I could’ve eaten it again. You might think it’s cheap but after eating it I was still hungry, which I shouldn’t be after eating a steak. The free icecream at the end is a nice touch. The staff were friendly and attentive but it did feel like a mission to simply get us in and out. We were only inside for half an hour.

This is my favourite spot to go in London for amazing steak and service at such an affordable price. The staff are always amazing and Oliver made us feel so welcome and even recalled me from coming in before. The personal touch this restaurant has is so warming and makes the experience a 10/10 every time. They have amazing cocktails and all of the sides are delicious and go so well with the steak and the ice cream at the end is the perfect way to end the night.

We went to ask for a table, and the waiter took down our phone number, and texted when the table was ready. In the meantime, we went to hang out elsewhere. What a great system! The staff was really friendly and helpful, and the food and wine were absolutely insane. The atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable. I recommend!

Amazing steak! This is my third visit to Flat Iron and I have to say it is consistently good. The free popcorn to start is a nice touch to graze on while perusing the menu. The menu is quite limited but this means they are really good at what they do. We had a train to catch and told them we only had 30s to spare. They said this was no problem and made sure to come and take our order promptly. Food came out really quickly and they made sure we got the bill and paid quickly too. The free ice cream at they end is a lovely way to end the meal. This flat Iron is about 5-10 mins walk from Liverpool Street Station so perfect for a pre-travel meal. Prices are very reasonable for London especially as you won't buy a starter or dessert.

3rd visit to a flat iron steakhouse and still up there with best food and great prices. Highly recommend

Great food and drink. On this occasion: unpleasant and aggressive service. Staff deliberately barged us at the bar and we overheard them speaking negatively and swearing about us to colleagues. Had we known we were in the way, we would have moved. I have been to this restaurant previously and the experience was brilliant. It was a shame that I felt unwelcome this evening.

I've never had a bad experience at Flat Iron. But this time was just another level. Food impeccable. Cocktails - good price and well made. Ambience 🔥. This is the first time we went to flat iron and the whole experience was amazing. All of the staff was very friendly and efficient. Gabriel was our server and he was really great with us. The food was quick and delicious, and the restaurant had a very relaxed vibe.

Great food at a really reasonable price. Small steak but that's reflected in the price. If you want it bigger then get it off the specials. Chips really nice. Beware they add tip and an extra 10p to charity so the price is more than expected.

This place is very affordable & quite nice. The food came out quickly. The wagyu steak of the day was a bit cold but everything else was hot- chips, macaroni cheese with truffle & the creamed spinach. The staff were lovely. I know this is now the norm here in the uk & other parts of the world but the service charge is a lot. You do have the option of having it removed though. Cocktails were ok. Not amazing but ok.

What an amazing local gem, first time trying Flat Iron and now we get it! Everything about this place is great apart from...the meat. Went there twice, got the fillet and it was really chewy. When I cooked a taste the difference fillet from Sainsbury's it was miles better. Shame..as the service is excellent, sauces and chips great and love the place.

I've been to Flat Iron before, only in London Bridge, so this was the first time in Spitalfields for me. This time I brought guests who hadn't been to FI before. We all thought we had a sensational experience!

I have the steak of the day with the house chips and the aubergine speciality. The meat was really good, I doubt you found something better around. The aubergine was great as well. I hope to come back soon and try the other meat specials

The Flat Iron signature steak seems to get smaller with each visit which is an issue. The main issue I had today is the 'optional' service charge/donation. I asked for it to be taken off. I was asked was it due to the service, I said "no". I was then asked more questions, I said I just wanted to take it off. Then the person came with the card machine saying sorry for the service issues. I said there were none, I just didn't want to pay the optional charge (as written on their menu). They said we take it off to due to service issues. I said no, it's an optional charge.

We always come here and the food is amazing, for me and my girlfriend it’s a very special place. However tonight we sat downstairs and it was so hot it ruined the whole experience. Could barely eat the steak we were sweating so much. We really enjoy eating here often so would like to hear back from the staff. Thanks Ben

We were there 3 times Once just for a drink outside, twice for dinner. Nice service, perfect steaks & delicious side dishes/burgers & drinks. Rustic atmosphere, but a bit cramped and loud. Reservation can be useful if you are looking for a special place, otherwise you will be seated after a while. There is still a rustic room in the basement. But very nice - a small soft ice cream for free when we say goodbye. (Unfortunately there are no desserts on the menu) Gladly again.😊

Does what it says on the tin! Quality flat iron steaks extremely well priced with a decent choice of sides. This is an excellent option if you are looking to spend a good time with non vegetarian friends or colleagues
