Went for the Christmas buffet during the first Santa sleepover weekend. I was expecting the worst based on previous reviews, however was pleasantly surprised, it was a nice carvery style meal, well cooked gammon and turkey, lots of choice of veg and a pleasant choice of starters and desserts. Some of the items a little undercooked, but on balance had a good meal. Staff could have cleared tables more quickly, and drink prices very high for the quality.

The food was OK but not the greatest. This seems to be a bit of a theme throughout the hotels. We had breakfast here, sausages were pretty dry, and so were the pancakes. The only bonus is that it was all you can eat.

I wasn't expecting the best of food, and took the reviews with a pinch of salt. However, the food was awful. Only thing edible was the chips. Expensive place where only the chips was okay. If microwaves meals are you cup of tea then go for it. Tables and chairs sticky and wobbly also - not great with a toddler.

£40 for the dinner buffet for one adult and a 7 year old... and that didn't include any drinks. The food was not the best, kids pasta was freezing... Everything just seemed as cheap as they could get it. I only encountered one staff member that actually had a smile on his face, the rest looked like they were serving time against their will. Drive 5 minutes away, there are some amazing wee pubs that do amazing food and far cheaper too.

NOT WORTH THE MONEY!! I had looked at the menu to see what they had and we decided to book a table, the check in staff where nice and friendly, as we sat down the waitress asked us if we’d been here before but as the music was so loud, screaming children etc we couldn’t hear her. For our first round we had a mix of food such as tomato pasta, Yorkshire pudding, charred buttered corn, noodles etc. The noodles were mooshy, the Yorkshire taste frozen and the pasta was cold. The corn was the on it nice part. For the second plate we decided to try the chicken which was a pleasant surprise. For the variety and quality the price was outrageous. Almost £30 per adult just for “ convenience”. To spend £55 on a buffet excluding drinks for mediocre food and unpleasant atmosphere we feel our money was wasted and regretted paying when we saw what was to offer. So So disappointed, definitely wouldn’t come back.

We went to Alton Towers and had an amazing stay, then decided to reserve this restaurant for dinner, and it was truly a let down of our whole stay, starting with the service, food, quality and prices. I’ve read all the negative reviews, and thought to myself “how bad can it be, come on it’s a buffet”. Well, truly my advice is how ever bad do you think it is, multiple that by 100! The very few choices of dishes served were inedible, and lukewarm at best. The children’s nuggets were as hard as rocks and dessert options were actually laughable, they had lots of jelly, pots of what looked like some sort of puddings and the ice cream machine was of course broken. My son and I spent less than 15mins in there after spending over £60 for food and as drinks are not included we had to pay for it separately. As we stayed in the Alton Towers hotel our breakfast was included but trust me it was not any better! Avoid and spend your money elsewhere!

Shocked at the decline, previously enjoyed dining here with my kids over the last 7 years. Now an all you can eat restaurant - charging an arm and leg for food that is bland and tasteless (trust me I sampled a few and this is in the 'adult' section), poor quality processed food. Won't be returning, I hope that the other restaurants here haven't suffered the same fate.

Food has continued to drop in quality. Food was warm at best, and the selection had deteriorated , making the restaurant not worth the money, in my opinion. I come to stay multiple times a year, and I'll not be returning to this restaurant in the future.

Asked by the staff at the door if our party had any allergies. Informed them I had an allergy to citrus fruit. I'm aware this is an uncommon allergy, so usually a staff member checks what is safe to eat. The chef came from the kitchen and stated "We have no citrus fruit in the kitchen, ma'am". Walked over to the buffet and the first dish I saw was chicken, covered in chilis and slices of lemon. Given that there is very little choice of other places to eat at Alton Towers, and it was already quite late, we ended up staying there and I very carefully ate what I knew would be safe. There didn't seem any point in asking for further information since the person in charge of the kitchen is wholly unaware of what a lemon is. Visited 2 weeks ago with 2 adults. Paid nearly £30 per person, drinks NOT included, so ended up paying around £80 for a very poor food selection. The quality of the food that is available is also fairly mediocre, and most of the time it was cold, so had clearly been sat a while. Wouldn't recommend to anyone under any circumstances, avoid at all costs.

I highly recommend you DO NOT go here. Food was lukewarm, variety is minimal and quality of food in general was poor. At the time of writing this we are actually here. We were just charged just over £60 for 2 adults and a 3 year old. My son is a fussy eater and when we do eat out me and my partner tend to share bits from our meals with our son as he eats so little. No where upon booking did it say it was an all you can eat and a standard charge! I worry for families on a tight budget that have saved for a long time to come here and when turning up to be told the cost are highly likely having their planned budget effected drastically. When speaking with staff they told me you should of looked properly and i could of eaten elsewhere. However when getting emails the resort encourages you to pre book your evening meal as they can't guarantee you a place elsewhere. So.... I did what advised, thinking little of it and looking forward to our stay. I spoke with CHLOE who gave no resolve no sorries no nothing. She told me i should of declined going to eat there and sourced another restaurant at the resort. Chloe seemed to lack the understanding of my complaint but also the fact people travel from all over to come here, many arriving by tea time like we did and by that time will no doubt be very hungry and just want to eat. Not mess around sourcing some place else for food with a tired child in tow. Ive submitted a complaint about the restaurant and chloe. Im really disappointed. Id be interested to know how many complaints they get and what action they actually take to not only resolve them but also change what theyre doing. Since going ive had a dig at reviews and many many people are saying the same as myself. I also wonder if they even bother checking their reviews and feedback. Its not good. The hotel itself.... Lets just say i barely slept a wink from the noise and the drains from our bathroom had quite the pungent smell

I'm at Alton Towers now & we went to Flambo Jambos for dinner last night. I did read the reviews first & there are a lot of negatives. Despite this we gave it a try anyway & was pleasantly surprised. Yes the prices are high, but it's Alton Towers & to be expected. Theres a decent selection of foods, small but adequate selections of different cusines, Indian, Chinese, Carvery, Peri chicken, Chilli con carne, a kids corner consisted of chicken nuggets, sausages, plain fries, fish fingers, beans, plain tomato pasta. My favourite part, the salad bar, a dessert station & a whippy ice cream machine. There's a bar where you can buy drinks separately, or you can ask for glasses where you can fill up from the water machine. There were 9 full tummies & no complaints. The only thing I'd say is none of the waiters/waitresses came to ask how everything was, no biggie it was busy. All in all a pleasant experience.

Absolute rip off, almost £30 a person and the selection was about 1/3 of what it should be. Food itself was not pleasant at all. Drinks are not included and there is not really much choice of drinks for young kids, very disappointed, I also had witnessed a customer complaining and the staff making rude faces behind his back. DO NOT EAT HERE. Ridiculously overpriced for what they offer. No longer offer soft drinks in the price. Selection of food is terrible, basic salad, awful curry, dry pasta and frozen yorkshires with breakfast sausages in as toad in the hole! Only thing worth eating is the 1/4 chicken- and £27.50 is a hella lot of money to pay for 1/4 chicken! Save your money and go find somewhere off park to eat!

We ended up eating here because everywhere else was booked up. On a Sunday. I expected prices to be quite high but £27.45 is per adult is just absolutely ludicrous without drinks too!! I expected lots of choice for that price but it was very limited and poor quality. Enjoyed a bit of the quarter chicken which was nice. Other than that, can’t comment on the rest. My son age 4 (£13 something) had about half a nugget and some chicken. The food prices really did spoil an otherwise lovely experience! We visited for dinner with two young children. I had read the reviews before so I was pleasantly surprised we had a nice meal. Yes it's expensive for what it is but it worked out better value for us than eating in the windmill. You can see the waterpark through the windows in the restaurant. The food was fine and there was a big variety including a kids section. There is a salad bar and some other healthy options. Some food was better than others and it's not top quality but lots of options and the curry was really nice. The only issue was that there weren't enough staff to clear plates and the tables are really small for 4 people so it all gets very cramped.

Flambo's offer a wonderful all you can eat buffet of an evening, from Chinese, Mexican, Indian, Italian and the "traditional english" kids choices, there was something for everyone even a decent salad selection. The food was hot and tasty and made you want to go back for 2nds and 3rds! The all you can eat evening cost us around £28 per adult and £13 per child (rounded up!) Drinks were extra. We were pleasantly surprised by the good quality food and good selection. For a resort-hotel this was by far the beat value and best food on offer. We stayed at the splash landing hotel and booked here for our morning breakfast - which again was ace. Good selection of hot and cold breakfast and plentiful. Granted the coffee machines were a bit dodge, but cannot fault the food nor the friendly staff! Giving one star across the board here because I can't give zero... Our ‘experience’ at Flambo's Jambo’s. Two adults, two children (four and two) came to £65.80, for what was essentially a selection of frozen food heated up (and gone cold again). Granted, the salad bar was okay – maybe on par with a harvester. But there was one member of staff assigned to serving ice cream cones (why?) – they guarded that tub with their life. There was plenty of other things the staff member could have been doing e.g. cleaning up tables, collecting plates, topping up the food or even serving at the ‘carvery’ (for which not once was there anybody there to carve when I went up – probably just as well mind). I can't emphasise enough just how bad the food was and how overpriced it was, but don't worry - you get a 'free' drink... It’s so frustrating to have been ripped off so badly when you’ve already paid to stay at the hotels there. I accept a mark up on food because of the nature of the thing, but it’s actually cheaper to eat IN the park itself. Crazy. My complaint has been handled poorly, post trip, with only a half baked (much like the food) apology offered.

*** Food Poisoning *** What a nightmare! Ate here with my wife and 2 young children after visiting the water park at around 6pm. I thought it was overpriced before I even laid eyes on the food, but having two hungry children we thought we’d give it a go. What a mistake! After picking what I hoped would be edible, we left feeling rather disappointed. At the time we just put it down to a bad experience and not to visit again. 5AM the following morning I was woken with the worst food poisoning symptoms. This would be my life for next 12 hours! The only consolation was that my wife and children had not ate the same things so they were spared the ordeal. We were supposed to visit the main theme park on the same day the symptoms started. Having spent a considerable amount we attempted to salvage what we could as my children were so excited about visiting CBeebies land, however, this proved to be a step too far, we abandoned the attempt after about an hour and left for home. I’ve logged a complaint with Alton Towers and also the food standards agency. I don’t hold out much hope of seeing a satisfactory reply back. I wish I had checked past reviews out before, as a simple search shows there have been a number of similar cases after eating at the same place. Please don’t eat here it’s not worth the risk or the price of the meal itself!

Me and my flaming stayed over in the Splash Landings hotel for 1 night. We were turned away at The Rollercoaster Restaurant- No space and were fully booked for 2 weeks in advance. We went to check in at the hotel and decided to check out Flambo’s Jambo’s on what they could offer to feed a family of 4. After reading previous reviews, we weren’t holding our hopes this was going to be any good. We dined here for dinner at 1700 and breakfast the following morning at 0800. Price - The prices differ from dinner to lunch buffet. A large hike in price difference for an adult. Kids price you get an unlimited refill drink. Adults however, you have to purchase them separately. Still, for the price, you can’t go wrong when it’s unlimited refills. I must add, I dined here at 1700. Paying for 4 of us, just shy of £73! Staff and customer service - You pay at the counter before you head to the entrance where a staff member shows you to your table. Staff at the pay counter, she was okay but I felt she lacked a little enthusiasm. The team in the restaurant, I can’t really fault them. The speed they work at to keep tables cleaned is excellent. We weren’t regularly checked on by the staff, kind of left to sit down and help yourself to it all. Same goes for the Buffett breakfast. In general, staff were happy, friendly and helpful. Cleanliness - Areas are kept clean as often as they could. Not really slot of mess at the food or drinks stations. Excess plates were cleared from our table regularly to stop too many from piling up. General area of the restaurant I can complain about cleanliness, it was to be fair… just kept clean and maintained. Tables - These were small. Sitting 4 of us on a small table, one at each end was a squeeze. Especially with drinks and plates on the table, there wasn’t much room. Unless you’re a family or party size of more than 4, be prepared to be sat a small table. This is really a negative review about tables, I just felt a larger table would of been a little less of a squeeze and better. Now to the main part… Food - I did read some of the previous reviews before dining here. In my opinion, my expectations were a lot better than read. I have attached a photo of the 2023 Menu, this of which is a wide range of food to offer. Staff asked before being seated if there were and allergens or intolerance so they could cater to our needs, which there was none for us. All the food was delicious. The kids ate a number of plate with lots of different varieties. Me, oh my. I ate so much I pretty much ended up into a food coma as I rolled back to my hotel room. Firstly I tired the Chilli Con Carne with rice, also along with the Chicken Tikka, and a naan on the side. This was lovely and tasty, a little spicy but still delicious. I also tried the roast carvery section, having a steak and vegetable pie (Not on the menu) The pie was lovely! I also had lots of other bits, but more of a mixture plate of things. Desserts - Tons of cakes and gateau’s to select from. Freshly cut fruit salad. On the end is the icing on the cake (excuse the pun). There was a kitchen staff member stood at a freezer serving scoops of Carte Dor ice cream, in a cone or a tub. Not many flavours to select from, but who doesn’t love Carte Dor ice cream. Overall, I would recommend Flambos Jambos. Food was delicious and extremely filling. Even though extortionate on price, (Where isn’t in Alton Tower?) you leave here with full stomach and satisfied. Reason for a 4 star and not 5, there was a few things I could pick up on for improvement, but that’s just me being really pedantic. In my opinion, go try it for yourself. Don’t go by the other reviews like I did.

Usually love flambos!! Today was absolutely awful. Paid extortionate amounts for a “Christmas dinner” the only Christmassy thing about it was the live Christmas music coming from upstairs with very questionable vocals. The food was stone cold, and tasted like it was a freezer meal. Chicken wings were still slightly pink inside and pork belly was like jello 😵💫 chips were alright, cauliflower wasn’t fully cooked and cheese was watery, gravy lukewarm and clumpy and pasta bake was very over cooked and mushy, sauce was definitely very cheap and watery. The dessert section consisted of about 4 things, the sticky toffee pudding looked dry, the cheesecake had been mushed and touched by children, fruit was nearly empty and mushy, Donught was alright but a bit dry. The staff couldn’t care less and when faced with criticism just looked disgusted. Certainly won’t be coming back, save your money and get something you can actually eat!! Stayed in the hotel and reserved a table for breakfast both mornings. It was deeply "ok" but probably in line with what you'd expect from a breakfast buffet in this type of restaurant. On the first morning we could only see lemons in the fruit section (the second day there were at least apples and oranges). The selection was definitely limited though (no fried egg, no oats or museli) but what was on offer was generally fine. Also on the first morning there was a pea on one of our seats presumably from the night before. Really didn't affect anyone's breakfast but doesn't scream thorough cleaning regime.

However, you're a captive audience so they take advantage. The vegetarian options are low, and not very nice. Veggie lasagna is weirdly sweet, vegetables are a bit too al dente, cheese and tomato pasta is mush. Garlic mushrooms the best option. The curry goat is fat and gristle but nice sauce. Dirty floors, very expensive, & low quality buffet. It’s obnoxiously loud with the themed music mixed with the live music upstairs, & the random balloon popping near the entrance to the buffet.

Went there twice for breakfast. Nice theming but the rest was very disappointing. Small choice and what was there was definitely poor quality. Pancakes were very dry, everything looked like it was frozen and tasteless. Even scrambled eggs were pretty bad.

Shocking food. Paid £69 for 3 adult buffet plus have to pay for drinks separate. The food was terrible. The only decent edible thing was the beef on the Carvery if you was lucky enough to get a slice from the middle, but there are no roast potatoes no Yorkshire puddings just new potatoes and frozen vegetables 🙈 Now to desserts Nothing had a label telling us what it was they all looked like cheesecake. There was no ice cream machine as it wasn’t working but did let you have lollies also watermelon sugar sweets. It was just really weird and would not recommend that anyone waste there money.

Awful, absolutely atrocious. Having to pay before you enter the restaurant (in a completely separate queue to the queue for the restaurant) plus ordering your warm wine before you’re even in is something I’ve never seen before. (£80 for 2x adult meals + bottle of wine). No beer at the pay point so you see men walking up and down the stairs with trays of pints for their dinner. Once paid you then queue for the restaurant as they don’t let you in without a receipt of payment. You’ll also need to chase 3-4 people for a glass for the wine you bought 20 minutes ago. Onto the buffet which is not really much of anything. They say it’s a Caribbean restaurant and the only Caribbean dish is rice and peas, also plates or cutlery are hard to come by. My only advice is to book ahead for one of the other restaurants, order room service or have a service station sandwich. On a positive note - the live music upstairs is fab.

Food over cooked, dry and not enough choices. Price was expensive for what it was. Desert again not enough choice but when you try a cheesecake it tasted like it was just de-frosted Would not go again

Buffet meal, quite expensive for adults but the food was fine for one visit. Selection of a few mains, starters and desserts. Also a kids section, Carvery was good and bottomless drinks included 😋

Im always dubious about a buffet, and unfortunately its because of buffets like this. It is £23 a head and it was utterly shocking.....!!! First off: no bread and butter • A salad bar that was hardly a sald bar (salad leaves, cucumber, onion, tomatoes) • Not alot of choices or options and what was there was bizzare. • For a hot buffet.....it wasn't!! • The actual quality of the food wasn't great. • All the desserts looked like they had been fingered by children. (2 cheesecakes, 2 cakes, 2 tarts, assorted ice creams) • An extra £3 for unlimited refill of only 4 drinks, 3 of which were diet....?! • The restaurant is right below karaoke, so don't expect to be bale to have a conversation. And to top it all off some of the food had been sat out for so long on the hot plate, that I witnessed the chef dumping water or oil into the pots to refresh them. I wouldn't even bother, Gordon Ramsey couldn't turn this restaurant around in a week let alone 48 hours.......utterly, utterly shocking. P.s I really REALLY wish I would of taken photos.

Starting off do not come here if you are vegan or pescatarion, the menu is limited and miss labled on the site. When ordering breaded garlic mushrooms that are stated vegan on the menu the manager tells us they are not vegan as they contain egg. When we asked to remove them from the order we were told that we cant remove them from the order but we can change it for a salad which cost £2.50 less. We are still charged for the £6 mushrooms. When the food finally came out after a OK wait time we had to wait for the staff to confirm that the cheese on the vegan food is vegan as it was not stated on the menu. I would highly suggest to eat before leaving the theme park as there are a lot of vegan options around the park. Quick update for 12 hours later.... do not order the chicken.

Unusual and interesting menu which is a bit different from the typical food you'd expect from a theme park hotel. Staff were friendly and enthusiastic, and dealt with any queries efficiently. The food itself tasted very nice. The portion sizes were a little inconsistent - ordered a 'side' of ribs as a starter, which was very large compared with the main (Goat Curry) - which seemed a bit small. However the quality was great. Would definitely come back again.

Reserved a place here for a 7pm evening meal. There was a slight queue and delay before being seated. Staff were really good, friendly and helpful. Food and drinks are ordered through a link and brought to the table. It is possible to call over a member of staff who can do it manually if you don't want to use your phone or have allergies. The ordering service is good enough and it does give you a fairly decent time estimate of when it will be delivered. Prices are a little steep - £15 for a burger, but it's what you'd expect for a hotel restaurant. The food itself looked lush and tasted good, like others say on par with a Harvester. The burger was slightly dry but the Jerk pit 1/2 chicken was delicious. The puddings are ordered separately or they would have arrived at the same time. Chocolate fudge cake was nice, but not as nice as it looked and the key lime pie was generous. Overall it's worth a visit, just know what to expect and don't be disappointed.

Booked a table at the time of booking the hotel and water park at £250 with Merlin Premium passes, for 7.30pm. When we arrived at the hotel early at 1pm I did not expect to be able to check in, but to use the loo and look around. Was happy to be able to check in early. I had said at time of booking that it was my sons 14th birthday and he is a massive theme park fan. I reminded them at check in and the receptionist said as we had a dinner booking she would do something for us. Bit disappointed that our room was overlooking the back service area and not the water park, But we were in. When we got to dinner it was not clearly signposted that you had to pay first and so having queued to be shown to seats we were then jump queued by the people behind us who turned and payed and then were seated at the better tables by the water park view. We paid £20 per head per adult, £15 for the 14 Yr old and £10 for the 10 year old plus £22 for wine and then slushies only to then be given cups for complimentary soft drinks. Our table was close to the service exit and next to the kitchen door. I thought there might be a balloon or something so suggest it was his birthday but nothing. I told the maitre D and he had no idea what I meant but said he would find out and come back to me. He did not! The food was really cold and not much choice we had to use the baby food microwave to heat it up for several minutes and whereas they overfilled our daughters plate i had to keep saying a bitmore, a bitmore. The table is so small it barely fits the 4 plates and cups on it. The smaller piece of key lime pie I have ever seen! Really not worth the money for dinner sitting in a corner and ignoring that it was our sons birthday. He had been warned by friends that it wasn't worth it and I wish we had listened especially as most of the pubs surrounding are offering the eat out to dine out discount.

Eat here at your own risk. Overpriced, disgusting food you wouldn't feed to your dog. We've just been there for dinner and couldn't stomach the food. The bit we did eat has now caused the four of us to stand queue for the loo! Don't do it.

Dreadful, aweful, horrendous are just a few words to describe this 'food' place. Exotic feast!! Are you joking!! £20 per adult, £10 per child for food you wouldn't serve at a school, prison or where Oliver Twist lived!! He certainly wouldn't say 'please Sir, can I have some more'. How difficult is it to boil a carrot or cook a chicken curry? The 'food' is bland, tasteless, the choice & quality are terrible. I will never eat a dinner here again. Haven't had the breakfast yet (its included in the price of staying here). Will let you know....

I stayed here a few years ago when Splash Landings first opened and was well impressed. I am here now and the entire experience has been horrible especially the buffet here. I paid 9.99 for my child and 19.99 for myself. The buffet had sausages, chicken fingers, spaghetti, fish fingers, chicken wings, and chips. There was also a soup, a few cold salads and some lettuce and tomatoes. Nothing on it was worth even the 9.99 much less the 30 pounds we paid for what basically is a microwaved kids menu. What happened to this place? *Staff here are sound though

What have they done? Taken a brilliant around the world themed restaurant and turned it into a rubbish pizza and pasta place. Charge you top dollar for nothing more than you get in the park! Very disappointed and I only ate there because I didnt know in advance, otherwise I would have got a take out. Just another opportunity to cut costs to raise the profit. Bad call!!

i had to give 1 star but this is being very generous to Alton Towers. we have been coming here at least twice a year for many years with flambo's being our choice of restaurant but after the new cheap menu with very little choice we were charged just under £10 for my son who's 4 and only wanted a few chips total rip off, after speaking to the excellence team they like to praise themselves for the new menu stating the menu is a result of customer feedback, personally i feel the Alton towers is run by accountants who want to save a penny anywhere they can, even if its at the expense of its customers ,the costing cutting is a resut of the smiler incident with many more cut to come i'm sure. mark brennan room 107 11th june 2018

Overpriced, premade food. A £1 Tesco lasagne tastes the same, but doesn't cost you an arm and a leg. They even asked us to pay for our just turned 1 year old who obviously wasn't going to much of anything at all.

Had a meal last night, staff were nice but for the price the meal wasn’t the greatest..,after ordering the meal took 5mins felt like they wanted to rush us..meal came before our drinks which you’d want your drinks before.£19 for a burger when it wasn’t even that warm. £9 for pudding, far to expensive for what you get.

I ordered a cheeseburger pizza I don't know what I got was even what I ordered there was no burger sauce on it. It was cold qnd nasty I know it was freshly cooked but it tasted old and stale I've had so many domino's pizza before so I know this wasn't like it normally was. The staff can't speak English and was quite hard to understand what they were saying. Worst domino's I've been to NEVER AGAIN
