Good food, staff are friendly and attentive, reasonably priced.

We called in for breakfast, sat there for 25 mins totally ignored while taking other people's orders, got fed up and got a refund and left. People be aware the service is absolutely rubbish, please give the place a big swerve, worse place I've been to 🤬🤬🤬🤬

Absolutely love this place, served by Derren & Shane, had a beautifully cooked platter and wings, food came out and the pride in the presentation was amazing. I hope these reviews get noticed and the team are all aware of the hard work they all put in to the establishment. Thank you!

Has got to be the worst service and food in a very long time. 90 mins for cold food. Already watched another table complain about COLD food so thought they would have addressed the issue. I asked after 80 mins on how longer it would be for our food, was told it was on way. When it arrived YES you guessed it COLD. The manager did give a full refund but that's not the point. Was a big ticket item 6 adults 2 kids. Never going again.

Came here for dinner with the family… Took about 10-15 minutes for our starters to arrive at the table.. while waiting for our entrees, we overheard other tables complaining about cold food.. would think the problem would be taken care of. We proceeded to sit and wait another 1.5 hours just to receive majority of our food luke-warm and one ICE COLD burger. Kids were the last to receive their food and TOO hot they had to wait to eat it. Ended up walking next door to McDonald’s.

Staff couldn't be more help after having to drive from another Premier Inn over 30mins away after we were told that no food was available due to staff shortage

Outstanding experience last night for our meals and breakfast. A big party of 11 of us and everything went without a hitch. The front of house staff (Zak, Shane and Derron) were attentive, friendly and a credit to the company. We come every year for a joint birthday family gathering and this has been by far the best experience. A big thanks to you all!

Grim! Ordered Prawn Cocktail. 10 mins later...no prawns. Chose the Calamari instead. Pic on menu shows a plate with about 12 pieces of golden crispy coated Calamari, ramekin of dipping sauce and a slice of lemon. No! I got a burnt offering of cremated something in burnt oil. Inedible. Told the pic was illustration!

We found the staff very polite however this is the only one positive comment we can make as the food was absolutely shocking! My husband ordered soup as a starter. He waited quite some time and when it arrived it was stone cold. He complained and then had to wait another 20 minutes before the soup came back hot. My husband then had scampi, chips and mushy peas and it was the worst meal we have ever been presented with. The chips were very poor and such a tiny portion. The mushy peas were a tiny dried up dollop and the scampi was very poor quality, more coating than scampi and very over cooked. Such poor quality food and such poor value for money. Shockingly so! I had pizza (thought this to be a safe option), it tasted a little different but I ate it and paid the consequences that evening unfortunately being unwell. We both had desert, as still felt peckish, we had the sticky toffee pudding with custard and even this was terrible, the pudding was over cooked/heated and extremely tough and chewy, with lukewarm custard. Hence to say we cancelled our table for breakfast and shall not be returning. Coincidentally whilst we were there, we overheard other complaints regarding the food, one man saying the food was very poor quality. We were told by the waiter, that there is nothing they can do as the food and portion size is allocated and monitored and cannot be changed. There was no offer of compensation as a goodwill gesture. The waiter was polite and apologetic but overall very very poor service. Not one to be repeated!! Since returning home we have read other reviews and it is quite apparent that nothing has been done to improve the quality of food and your service. How disappointing from your management point of view when customer service should be a priority. Your Menu does not give a true representation of the food being cooked and served. We shall certainly not be visited any other Brewers Fayre or recommending Brewers Fayre to friends and family. The problem with your food needs to be addressed if you want to avoid such negative reviews.

Lovely place, great staff and foods very good!

Poor guy serving wasn't his own and rushed off his feet but he did his best and the food was fine. Great to have frew refilling coke and coffee.

Not the most scenic location but once inside it's fine ,friendly staff and good value food

We arrived late after a long journey, James was excellent, he ordered our food just in time to meet the 9pm last order rule. James gave us excellent service, my husbands mixed grill was good but my gammon tough and fatty, I requested a runny egg and it came cremated. The chef said he doesn't fry the eggs and only cooks the gammon he was given, not the response I would expect. The furnishings were old, seats ripped and not very clean.

I have been going to this pub for nearly 2 years now. Had some lovely meals and Christmas lunch last year.. however, I went on Sunday 22nd September 24 ordered the Sunday roast, and it's the worse dinner I have ever had, no parsnips, the roast potatoes were mushy and I had 3 tiny pieces of Turkey, I was disappointed, told the waitress she came back with 2 small pieces of Turkey covered in gravey!! Sorry but I asked too see the manager not the usual manager I see there.. he didn't seem to be bothered, his excuse was they were running out of dinners!! Then don't take orders for them... another gentleman also complained and there was a lady who was also disgusted In her Sunday roast..

Very reasonable and tasty fare in a convenient spot. Friendly and attentive service from Nicole and Shane. Only drawback was the 'pub' spot was standing room only unless you were dining in.

Came here tonight for dinner. Food was very poor. Daughter had a child’s macaroni cheese which was tiny and tasted horrible. I had a chicken burger and chips with a dollop of coleslaw. For £13.50 it was bad. Fairly decent bit of chicken stuck between two tiny baps. The real issue with this place, as with many places, is the pathetic amount of chips bit on the plate. How much do potatoes cost??! Talk about tight. Please don’t go hungry, we went across the way to McDonalds for dessert. When we spoke to the waitress she admitted the chip portions on all our dinners was small but ‘there was nothing she could do about it’ Needless to say won’t be returning.

Excellent value for money and I would like to say a big thank you to Shane who was very pleasant and amiable during my stay at The Premier Inn. Its not easy as a female dining on your own and Shane was very friendly and polite.

Been at Donington Park all day and was heading to my digs in Swadlincote. Thought I'd swing by here for food. Very glad I did! Staff very friendly behind the bar. Food was piping hot and cooked to perfection! Steak was exactly how I asked it to be. Had some bad experiences with brewers fayre but this has restored faith in them. Would recommend to others if passing. I turned up at 16:40pm and was seated no problem. Atmosphere was good. Thanks 👍

We've been for breakfast a few times recently and it's been absolutely bang on! Everything cooked lovely, the continental always well stocked, and the staff are fantastic. In particular Nicola has been so lovely the few times I've seen her, great with our daughter, attentive and just generally kind. There's also a man who I think is maybe a manager who is always upbeat and welcoming, we love coming here for breakfast.

Met with a warm welcome and was fairly quiet when we visited but is was an early week day afternoon, can imagine the place would get busy of a night as its not the biggest location and has a premier inn attached. The meals were as you would expert from one of these establishments, freshly cooked and well presented. Cannot fault anything and would deffo return.

No big surprises and menu with limited options, with a price higher than the competition with a similar and with more option menu. Good environment. If you arrived late from the office and needs a meal, it will be enough, but I don't believe someone would drive from home specifically to be there.

Staff are polite but the service and food is sub standard.

We ordered fish and chips from the lunch menu, after a lengthy wait they finally appeared - the young waiter was very polite however, the fish and chips were awful - hard greasy burnt batter and a forkful of fish !!!! - no wonder there was only 2 more people in there - avoid !!!!

Food was delicious. It was a busy bank holiday Monday and only seemed to have two staff on. Waited to be seated so long that we eventually sat ourselves as staff were busy on the bar.

Breakfast service absolutely shocking. Booked a table to be told Premier Inn take priority and to go find a table ourselves. Once seated waited 40 mins for someone to take our order, continental breakfast had nothing left, toaster took 10 mins! Once food arrived it was cold and sloppy, eggs hard! Heard many people say “let’s go to McDonald’s” that says it all.

Went for Sunday lunch.. But wasn't available.

Apparently they are changing to a new drinks menu, so they didn't have the ingredients for my mocktail. We asked for all the hot food to come out at once (child had a starter as a deal but we didn't) but they bought out a single piece of garlic bread first (child wouldn't eat it, we only ordered it because it made his meal cheaper) cue frustrated child asking where his pizza was. Child's pizza doesn't come with chips, just veggie side options, so it didn't really seem like much of a meal for a child, we had to order them separately, and they cost £3.19, which as a side for a child seems a lot to me, but they had no child's option for a chips add on. The child's pizza was burnt and rock hard, the child's pancake pudding was awful, completely tasteless. Our 3 year old just ate the chips and a sausage from his dad's mixed grill, with a couple of slices of banana. My nachos were nice, and my husband enjoyed his mixed grill, although the eggs were overdone and the onion rings cold and rock hard. Overall, quite disappointed as a family meal.

Went today for a breakfast. It was beautiful, cooked to perfection and served hot. Staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. We certainly had our monies worth with buffet continental and hot drinks. We stayed longer than usual but was made to feel very at ease. We will definitely be returning.

Food was GREAT. And service was quick and it came with a smile. The haddock and chips was as good as it always is. We will most definitely be going back again. It's one of our favourites. The Flagstaff and it's staff never disappoint.

We went here yesterday for the first time for breakfast. Greeted by a waiter, explained to us about breakfast , have to order but help self to continental. And pick out own table. Ordered our breakfast which was served within 10 minutes. Was not very hot, the sausages were terrible , did not have a nice taste and greasy. So did not eat them, another lady also said the same about the sausage. Continental was ok, no orange juice, but be better if pancakes could be warmed, as were cold and very dry. Sadly won't be returning. Waiter and waitress very pleasant

Ordered the trio of pies (lamb and mint, steak and ale and chicken tikka). Upon starting the second pie after finishing the steak and ale, it was the same pie again. I politely brought this to the attention of a member of staff and they took my plate away. Upon return, the second pie was removed from my plate, the last pie had been messed with and the same plate of food returned to me several minutes later with an explanation that went something like this “the chef said they come as a packet of three, what do you want me to do about it?” Of course, I wanted my correct order. Several minutes later the missing lamb and mint pie arrived on the side of the table (see picture). Shocking service from the chef which the waitress should have addressed with either a new plate of food or an offer of some form of goodwill, I won’t be returning.

Visited this pub 4 days of this week owing to work commitments. Ordered breakfast lunch and snacks each day, all of which have been delivered quickly, and were tasty and great value for money. The staff really are a true credit to this place, especially Jan and Janice who were extremely helpful and diligent. Well done on your hiring process @brewers fayre!. wi-fi not amazing but only kicked me out of video calls once per day which is not that bad!.

Food was horrible entered though hotel and paid full price then I saw the sandwich board outside advertising 2 mains for less than 1/2 price was not offered this never again !

This was, frankly, the worst dining experience we never had. Nic, the duty manager, is incompetence personified; the kitchen staff haven't a clue about timings and the wait on food was so bad, even other diners were asking where our food was! We arrived at 6:10pm and were surprised to see only three people on duty, front of house, to a packed restaurant. Nic, the duty manager, assured us that this was normal and they weren't "under staffed". The number of dirty tables, dishes left out and customers queueing for refunds and complaints should have been warning enough, but we were tired and hungry, and the young waitress was so lovely to us that my little boy, my wife and I were relieved to be able to sit and order some food. Queuing to order took around 20minutes but, by then, the restaurant was clearing from the rush so we weren't too worried. We were told it would be another 40minutes for food...but we'd committed already and hoped for the "under promise, over deliver" style of any good places. Nope. A further 10minutes later, someone came to say they'd sold out of my dish, so to choose an alternative and to queue up again to get a refund for the difference. 5 minutes more and my son's "starter" of garlic bread came out. "Great! Dinner won't be long!" Wrong. An hour later (I hope you are adding up the time here) they said they'd "bump our order up the queue". The fact the other people who ordered before and after us had been served and finished was more than concerning... especially as they'd ordered the same dishes as we had, so nothing we'd asked for, including my alternative, was unusual. Still another 10minutes and I'm done. I ask for a full refund, to which Nic says "Just wait there, I need to tell them to stop cooking your food." No, no you don't. You need to process my refund and let me get my very, very tired and hungry little boy across the road to McDonald's so he can eat something! After arguing with me about this, she eventually came to the till and processed the refund...£7 short. I had to talk her through her own receipt to show her how it was itemised and she still didn't get it. I ended up showing her the bank transaction just to prove she'd short-changed me. By this point, she couldn't work out how to refund the difference, so had to give me cash. Honestly, what an absolute joke. This place should be shut down and the staff retrained until basic skills are in place. I have worked for years in retail and in serving customers and we all have bad days, but this wasn't just a bad day, this was sheer incompetence and a total lack of care. If Brewer's Fayre want to improve their income, they'd do well to sell this branch to Harvester. Avoid here at all costs and nip to the pub down the road for food, drink and good service. Even the locals were advising us of that!

Couldn’t fault the waitress but when I complained about my chicken and egg I was told the manager would be informed….. didn’t see or hear from the manager afterwards. Horrendous service. Again waitress was great and wasn’t to blame

The staff was quite rude; they refused to accommodate even a minor modification to my order, citing concerns about their inventory. Additionally, the quality of the food left much to be desired.

Had a sunday roast. Staff were amazing but food for once was not the carrots n Brussels weren't aldente they were raw but everything else was OK very generous with meat. Defo advise refillable soda

Staff are really great food and service spot on. We stayed In the prem for the night and had the offer with evening tea and breakfast. It was the second time we had done the same thing 👍

Shocking food I took it back and the lady had a shouting match with me refused to give my money I will never return spoken to like a child think everyone in the pub heard it did get my money back food the fish was horrible my boyfriend walked out

The food was nice but I couldn't order a sweet as they closed. It was soon after they closed the bar. This is due to January and February alterations by Brewers Fayre.

Arrived with a table pre-booked at 2.30 pm, took a short while to be seated. On the receipt it shows we payed at 3.02pm. 3.35 they brought out kids starters (few vege sticks and crisps) and one of the kids mains. people who arrived 40 minutes after us got served before us with food. By 4.15pm we still didn't have our food and got a refund and left, had to go to McDonald's. The lady serving on the tills shrugged and said I've taken your starter plates away when I asked if they'd forgotten us Rather poor service and I'd maybe understand if it was busy, but it was only around 1/4 full. Oh, and there's no roast dinners.

We ate here for breakfast this morning. The two young girls serving seemed very stressed, I'm not sure if they were understaffed. There were no pastries and the coffee machine wasn't working. There was also no one around at all when I tried to pay which led me to having to go next door to the premier inn reception desk. No apology was given. The breakfast itself is an ordering system rather than buffet. It was very slow unfortunately and my son was given completely the wrong breakfast. The quality of the breakfast itself was what you expect from a brewers fayre and cooked absolutely fine. The restaurant had a bit of a weird vibe/atmosphere, not sure why. We normally go to a couple of other local brewers fayres for breakfast and this one is definitely the worst we've visited. A shame as we probably wouldn't go there again.

Ordered our food 15:02 with 4 kids meals and two adult meals plus drinks. After over 1hr the kids had a starter each that was a few tortilla chips, dip and few veg sticks..... complained about the wait to be told our order might be a while due to the kitchen cooking steaks before anything else.... then by 16.15 and watching other tables receiving their orders even though we arrived a good 30mins before them..... complained again and asked for a full refund, to be told we would have to pay for the kids starters and our drinks.... asked to speak with the manager to be told there wasn't one on shift and they couldn't be contacted. Left with a part refund,4 very hungry kids and 2 hungry annoyed parents. Very disappointing experience 😞

Called in for a bite to eat and was really impressed by the welcome. The staff could not have been more helpful and knowledgeable, you were made too feel at ease. We had the two meals for £11.99 and could not fault them, well cooked and well presented and nice and hot. I had a pint of Doom Bar and my wife had a coffee which is refillable if you so wished. All in all top marks all round, will definitely be going back. Well done.

Found the staff to be disorganised. Not very attentive. A wait was mentioned for food when ordering but not an hour, after which we asked a member of staff and the food arrived. When it arrived most of it was overcooked, except the egg which had a runny white and my steak which should have been medium, was rare inside and burnt outside. I didn't complained at the table as no one really cares and they didn't wait for a response when they asked how the meal was. Just won't go back again, simple really. Not to mention only two drinks were ordered and my wife had to ask for one of them to be served.

Visited at breakfast time, good quality food and as much as you can eat. Only downside it's not a buffet cooked breakfast but you can order whatever you want from the breakfast menu and help yourself to hot drinks and continental.

We had a really nice lunch here. The food was very good and so we're the staff. We will make this a regular place to visit.

The lovely Linda was our waitress and nothing was too much trouble, she simply was amazing. a family of 4 ate breakfast before our flight at EMA unlimited amounts of cereal and toast, pastries juice and coffee. Linda tailored our breakfasts to what everyone wanted. We would definitely recommend for breakfast and come again ps kids are free

Attended here today for our annual family Christmas Eve breakfast and was really impressed with the food. You can order what you want and how much you want with either full English or from the continental that is laid out for you, just help yourself to all the pastries etc and drinks. The service was really good managing to accommodate a party of 15 and all the food came out in a good time. A special gratitude to the manager Chris who arranged things for us and a special thank you to Jan who was serving us, who was really lovely and very helpful. We will be returning.

Had to wait 45 mins for cold food ordered a medium rare stake and it was burnt we had a 40% voucher and they told us it was invalid me and any one that knows me will never be eating here ever again

Just enjoyed a perfectly acceptable Sunday lunch at the flagstaff.

The steak wasn’t medium rare as asked for we couldn’t use a coupon which expired on the day and stated it was inclusive the Sunday roast was cold there was no gravy , the carrots were rock hard , the peas were hard the mash was carrot and sweet potato which wasn’t described in the menu we had to wait over 40 minutes for our food very unimpressed and it wasn’t up to standard

Went to have breakfast with family members who were staying there. Hostile reception, surly waitress, mediocre food. Cramped seating.

Table for 2 booked for 6.15pm on Friday evening, no starter ordered, Main meal arrived at 7.50pm.no apology when asked about it. Shocking service, will not attend again!!

Absolutely shocking. Waited 1hr and 15mins for food. No sincere apology, seems to be the normal, water off a ducks back for the staff. Definitely will not eat here again.

5 of us travelled to the nec from hull it was an early start. We booked our table in advance as advised. We all went for the full English plus drinks. for under a tenner We had no complaints. But service let it down it may just have been very busy that day and had a staff shortage but we waited over an hour from setting down with our drinks to breakfast arriving. Would we go back yer probably as it is a once a year trip for us.
