Met with a warm welcome and was fairly quiet when we visited but is was an early week day afternoon, can imagine the place would get busy of a night as its not the biggest location and has a premier inn attached. The meals were as you would expert from one of these establishments, freshly cooked and well presented. Cannot fault anything and would deffo return.

No big surprises and menu with limited options, with a price higher than the competition with a similar and with more option menu. Good environment. If you arrived late from the office and needs a meal, it will be enough, but I don't believe someone would drive from home specifically to be there.

Staff are polite but the service and food is sub standard.

We ordered fish and chips from the lunch menu, after a lengthy wait they finally appeared - the young waiter was very polite however, the fish and chips were awful - hard greasy burnt batter and a forkful of fish !!!! - no wonder there was only 2 more people in there - avoid !!!!

Food was delicious. It was a busy bank holiday Monday and only seemed to have two staff on. Waited to be seated so long that we eventually sat ourselves as staff were busy on the bar.

Breakfast service absolutely shocking. Booked a table to be told Premier Inn take priority and to go find a table ourselves. Once seated waited 40 mins for someone to take our order, continental breakfast had nothing left, toaster took 10 mins! Once food arrived it was cold and sloppy, eggs hard! Heard many people say “let’s go to McDonald’s” that says it all.

Went for Sunday lunch.. But wasn't available.

Apparently they are changing to a new drinks menu, so they didn't have the ingredients for my mocktail. We asked for all the hot food to come out at once (child had a starter as a deal but we didn't) but they bought out a single piece of garlic bread first (child wouldn't eat it, we only ordered it because it made his meal cheaper) cue frustrated child asking where his pizza was. Child's pizza doesn't come with chips, just veggie side options, so it didn't really seem like much of a meal for a child, we had to order them separately, and they cost £3.19, which as a side for a child seems a lot to me, but they had no child's option for a chips add on. The child's pizza was burnt and rock hard, the child's pancake pudding was awful, completely tasteless. Our 3 year old just ate the chips and a sausage from his dad's mixed grill, with a couple of slices of banana. My nachos were nice, and my husband enjoyed his mixed grill, although the eggs were overdone and the onion rings cold and rock hard. Overall, quite disappointed as a family meal.

Went today for a breakfast. It was beautiful, cooked to perfection and served hot. Staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. We certainly had our monies worth with buffet continental and hot drinks. We stayed longer than usual but was made to feel very at ease. We will definitely be returning.

Food was GREAT. And service was quick and it came with a smile. The haddock and chips was as good as it always is. We will most definitely be going back again. It's one of our favourites. The Flagstaff and it's staff never disappoint.

We went here yesterday for the first time for breakfast. Greeted by a waiter, explained to us about breakfast , have to order but help self to continental. And pick out own table. Ordered our breakfast which was served within 10 minutes. Was not very hot, the sausages were terrible , did not have a nice taste and greasy. So did not eat them, another lady also said the same about the sausage. Continental was ok, no orange juice, but be better if pancakes could be warmed, as were cold and very dry. Sadly won't be returning. Waiter and waitress very pleasant

Ordered the trio of pies (lamb and mint, steak and ale and chicken tikka). Upon starting the second pie after finishing the steak and ale, it was the same pie again. I politely brought this to the attention of a member of staff and they took my plate away. Upon return, the second pie was removed from my plate, the last pie had been messed with and the same plate of food returned to me several minutes later with an explanation that went something like this “the chef said they come as a packet of three, what do you want me to do about it?” Of course, I wanted my correct order. Several minutes later the missing lamb and mint pie arrived on the side of the table (see picture). Shocking service from the chef which the waitress should have addressed with either a new plate of food or an offer of some form of goodwill, I won’t be returning.

Visited this pub 4 days of this week owing to work commitments. Ordered breakfast lunch and snacks each day, all of which have been delivered quickly, and were tasty and great value for money. The staff really are a true credit to this place, especially Jan and Janice who were extremely helpful and diligent. Well done on your hiring process @brewers fayre!. wi-fi not amazing but only kicked me out of video calls once per day which is not that bad!.

Food was horrible entered though hotel and paid full price then I saw the sandwich board outside advertising 2 mains for less than 1/2 price was not offered this never again !

This was, frankly, the worst dining experience we never had. Nic, the duty manager, is incompetence personified; the kitchen staff haven't a clue about timings and the wait on food was so bad, even other diners were asking where our food was! We arrived at 6:10pm and were surprised to see only three people on duty, front of house, to a packed restaurant. Nic, the duty manager, assured us that this was normal and they weren't "under staffed". The number of dirty tables, dishes left out and customers queueing for refunds and complaints should have been warning enough, but we were tired and hungry, and the young waitress was so lovely to us that my little boy, my wife and I were relieved to be able to sit and order some food. Queuing to order took around 20minutes but, by then, the restaurant was clearing from the rush so we weren't too worried. We were told it would be another 40minutes for food...but we'd committed already and hoped for the "under promise, over deliver" style of any good places. Nope. A further 10minutes later, someone came to say they'd sold out of my dish, so to choose an alternative and to queue up again to get a refund for the difference. 5 minutes more and my son's "starter" of garlic bread came out. "Great! Dinner won't be long!" Wrong. An hour later (I hope you are adding up the time here) they said they'd "bump our order up the queue". The fact the other people who ordered before and after us had been served and finished was more than concerning... especially as they'd ordered the same dishes as we had, so nothing we'd asked for, including my alternative, was unusual. Still another 10minutes and I'm done. I ask for a full refund, to which Nic says "Just wait there, I need to tell them to stop cooking your food." No, no you don't. You need to process my refund and let me get my very, very tired and hungry little boy across the road to McDonald's so he can eat something! After arguing with me about this, she eventually came to the till and processed the refund...£7 short. I had to talk her through her own receipt to show her how it was itemised and she still didn't get it. I ended up showing her the bank transaction just to prove she'd short-changed me. By this point, she couldn't work out how to refund the difference, so had to give me cash. Honestly, what an absolute joke. This place should be shut down and the staff retrained until basic skills are in place. I have worked for years in retail and in serving customers and we all have bad days, but this wasn't just a bad day, this was sheer incompetence and a total lack of care. If Brewer's Fayre want to improve their income, they'd do well to sell this branch to Harvester. Avoid here at all costs and nip to the pub down the road for food, drink and good service. Even the locals were advising us of that!

Couldn’t fault the waitress but when I complained about my chicken and egg I was told the manager would be informed….. didn’t see or hear from the manager afterwards. Horrendous service. Again waitress was great and wasn’t to blame

Amazing breakfast. Good black pudding and sausages. Staff were quick and really friendly. Chap at the till was really helpful.

The staff was quite rude; they refused to accommodate even a minor modification to my order, citing concerns about their inventory. Additionally, the quality of the food left much to be desired.

Had a sunday roast. Staff were amazing but food for once was not the carrots n Brussels weren't aldente they were raw but everything else was OK very generous with meat. Defo advise refillable soda

Staff are really great food and service spot on. We stayed In the prem for the night and had the offer with evening tea and breakfast. It was the second time we had done the same thing 👍

Shocking food I took it back and the lady had a shouting match with me refused to give my money I will never return spoken to like a child think everyone in the pub heard it did get my money back food the fish was horrible my boyfriend walked out

The food was nice but I couldn't order a sweet as they closed. It was soon after they closed the bar. This is due to January and February alterations by Brewers Fayre.

We ate here for breakfast this morning. The two young girls serving seemed very stressed, I'm not sure if they were understaffed. There were no pastries and the coffee machine wasn't working. There was also no one around at all when I tried to pay which led me to having to go next door to the premier inn reception desk. No apology was given. The breakfast itself is an ordering system rather than buffet. It was very slow unfortunately and my son was given completely the wrong breakfast. The quality of the breakfast itself was what you expect from a brewers fayre and cooked absolutely fine. The restaurant had a bit of a weird vibe/atmosphere, not sure why. We normally go to a couple of other local brewers fayres for breakfast and this one is definitely the worst we've visited. A shame as we probably wouldn't go there again.

Arrived with a table pre-booked at 2.30 pm, took a short while to be seated. On the receipt it shows we payed at 3.02pm. 3.35 they brought out kids starters (few vege sticks and crisps) and one of the kids mains. people who arrived 40 minutes after us got served before us with food. By 4.15pm we still didn't have our food and got a refund and left, had to go to McDonald's. The lady serving on the tills shrugged and said I've taken your starter plates away when I asked if they'd forgotten us Rather poor service and I'd maybe understand if it was busy, but it was only around 1/4 full. Oh, and there's no roast dinners.

Ordered our food 15:02 with 4 kids meals and two adult meals plus drinks. After over 1hr the kids had a starter each that was a few tortilla chips, dip and few veg sticks..... complained about the wait to be told our order might be a while due to the kitchen cooking steaks before anything else.... then by 16.15 and watching other tables receiving their orders even though we arrived a good 30mins before them..... complained again and asked for a full refund, to be told we would have to pay for the kids starters and our drinks.... asked to speak with the manager to be told there wasn't one on shift and they couldn't be contacted. Left with a part refund,4 very hungry kids and 2 hungry annoyed parents. Very disappointing experience 😞

Called in for a bite to eat and was really impressed by the welcome. The staff could not have been more helpful and knowledgeable, you were made too feel at ease. We had the two meals for £11.99 and could not fault them, well cooked and well presented and nice and hot. I had a pint of Doom Bar and my wife had a coffee which is refillable if you so wished. All in all top marks all round, will definitely be going back. Well done.

Found the staff to be disorganised. Not very attentive. A wait was mentioned for food when ordering but not an hour, after which we asked a member of staff and the food arrived. When it arrived most of it was overcooked, except the egg which had a runny white and my steak which should have been medium, was rare inside and burnt outside. I didn't complained at the table as no one really cares and they didn't wait for a response when they asked how the meal was. Just won't go back again, simple really. Not to mention only two drinks were ordered and my wife had to ask for one of them to be served.

Visited at breakfast time, good quality food and as much as you can eat. Only downside it's not a buffet cooked breakfast but you can order whatever you want from the breakfast menu and help yourself to hot drinks and continental.

We had a really nice lunch here. The food was very good and so we're the staff. We will make this a regular place to visit.

The lovely Linda was our waitress and nothing was too much trouble, she simply was amazing. a family of 4 ate breakfast before our flight at EMA unlimited amounts of cereal and toast, pastries juice and coffee. Linda tailored our breakfasts to what everyone wanted. We would definitely recommend for breakfast and come again ps kids are free

Attended here today for our annual family Christmas Eve breakfast and was really impressed with the food. You can order what you want and how much you want with either full English or from the continental that is laid out for you, just help yourself to all the pastries etc and drinks. The service was really good managing to accommodate a party of 15 and all the food came out in a good time. A special gratitude to the manager Chris who arranged things for us and a special thank you to Jan who was serving us, who was really lovely and very helpful. We will be returning.

Had to wait 45 mins for cold food ordered a medium rare stake and it was burnt we had a 40% voucher and they told us it was invalid me and any one that knows me will never be eating here ever again

The steak wasn’t medium rare as asked for we couldn’t use a coupon which expired on the day and stated it was inclusive the Sunday roast was cold there was no gravy , the carrots were rock hard , the peas were hard the mash was carrot and sweet potato which wasn’t described in the menu we had to wait over 40 minutes for our food very unimpressed and it wasn’t up to standard

Just enjoyed a perfectly acceptable Sunday lunch at the flagstaff.

Went to have breakfast with family members who were staying there. Hostile reception, surly waitress, mediocre food. Cramped seating.

Absolutely shocking. Waited 1hr and 15mins for food. No sincere apology, seems to be the normal, water off a ducks back for the staff. Definitely will not eat here again.

Table for 2 booked for 6.15pm on Friday evening, no starter ordered, Main meal arrived at 7.50pm.no apology when asked about it. Shocking service, will not attend again!!

5 of us travelled to the nec from hull it was an early start. We booked our table in advance as advised. We all went for the full English plus drinks. for under a tenner We had no complaints. But service let it down it may just have been very busy that day and had a staff shortage but we waited over an hour from setting down with our drinks to breakfast arriving. Would we go back yer probably as it is a once a year trip for us.

Not been here for a few years, called in as flght delayed coming back from Menorca. A bit tired in places, staff pleasant (except the girl in the suit, grumpy.) Food good considering it's out of a packet, 3 courses each and no complaints. Only thing there was no table service, and no tab, so each course and drinks had to be ordered each time at the bar, strange!

Took our twins here for breakfast in the autumn holidays while their younger brother was at playgroup ! . Great value as we had the unlimited breakfast which included a hot selection with plenty of choices, unlimited hot drinks, juices and pastries yogurts and so on. Great value at the twins were free, and really enjoyed it. Great value, food and the staff were very friendly. Only down comment was the language of 3 men on a table near 3 families. Overall was very good and recommended.

Made a reservation for a nice table got to checkin said we had a reservation and said sit where ever we orderd food got our staters ok then waited 55 minutes for our mains asked for the person to check on our meal well my fish was so dry could hear me cut the fish in half asked for the meal to be taken back this was for 2 x fish and chips so she took it away no apology nothing then came to us saying the manager would be with us in 5 minutes as she has to cover kitchen so then still waiting added the person I will go for a refund if it’s going to take any longer as the other two people all ready had finshed there’s when it did eventually came out the fish was smaller and again no fish but batter I asked for a refund then when I was taken to get my refund really hungry as we had not eaten all day saving for daughters birthday and she chose this place to eat no apology nothing at the till so bad service not one apology

Hi! I probably won’t go here again. I was staying at the hotel next door (which was great) to visit my family around April time, it was for a family members birthday. From what I can tell, my grandma was ordering food a couple of minutes before a certain deal kicked in, and rather than advising her to wait to order if she wanted the discounted prices , the lady told her she couldn’t have the lower priced items altogether. She also refused to honour a coupon my grandma got given for her birthday, I'm assuming my grandma was difficult about this and was probably annoying about it, HOWEVER, Before our starters came out she came over to ask us if we wanted any more drinks, I asked her if we could do that (as we’d been told multiple times they didn’t take orders from the table), and she advised me that of course she could. When I asked for another cocktail she asked me for ID. Keep in mind, I’m 23, covered in visible tattoos, and I’m staying in the hotel next door by myself. I didn’t have it on me because I’d come from Sheffield and forgotten it, so she told me I’d have no more drinks from her and was really combative with me. I’ve worked in nightclubs before so I get that if you don’t bring ID that’s your own fault, but she’d already served me a drink at this point , and only decided to ask for ID once she’d gotten annoyed at my grandma. I’d like to add another table two minutes later asked her if they could order drinks and she told them “sorry we don’t take drink orders at the table” Made the atmosphere extremely uncomfortable, I didn’t wanna eat what was in front of me, nobody did, nobody wanted to talk to anyone and I just felt like crying because why on earth would she come over specifically to start an issue? Basically ruined my day out with my family who I don’t see very often and I wouldn’t go back to this specific branch if they paid me. I don’t think staff should take out their personal issues with customers and specifically target people as she wasn’t even meant to be in the dining area, ALSO relevant just me and my boyfriend were drinking , he’s a year younger than me and she didn’t ID him.

The room was nice and clean. We had booked for a evening meal and breakfast both meals were nice but could do with more staff serving as we had to wait quite a while for our food after we had ordered on both occasions.

The place was closed an hour earlier than advertised- very disappointing.

Food was more than 5 star And the drinks are bottomless! 100% recommend it!!!

Went on a Sunday for a roast and it was not overly busy, waited 45mins for our food. The roast in general was ok, the beef roast looked much better than a standard turkey roast (see picture). The Caramel Apple Betty sounded nice but came out luke-warm, however the Profiteroles puddings looked nice. I am sure the other food on the menu is good.

A nice place to grab a meal when working away from home. Food was to a great standard and staff friendly.

Food was delivered ask for sauces and never seen the waitress again, no one asked if everything was OK! The coleslaw was off, won't fo back .

Arrived 3pm on a Sunday and was told that roast beef would be available in 5 mins. Kept being told our food was next but ended up waiting 40 minutes for admittedly good beef but soggy potatoes and undercooked Yorkshire puddings. Having also ordered a gammon and turkey roast, when it came my husband was informed that the gammon hadn't reached temperature and had to be thrown away. No attempt to make any gestures to compensate. We won't be stopping here again.

They do lovely food here, been quite a few times. Most recently went just for a drink with some friends and the staff were all lovely.

It's cheap . But they could do alot better .

Lots of staff milling around but unfortunately nobody on the bar and actually serving. If somebody does happen to be on the bar they don't move from the till so you have to manoeuvre around other customer to give them your money and collect your drinks. I know its only a simple thing but annoying when you've waited so long (up to 15 mins) to get served.

Very busy on a weekend morning, staff are trying their best but there doesn't seem to be enough of them. Waited over an hour for the food, when it came it was lovely 😍 Manager halved our bill but it was a bit of a let down to the start of the day 😅

Not big enough to seat a walk in on a Sunday night. We'd already driven from the Table Table 15 minutes away who wouldn't seat us either. What use is a pub if they can't seat walk ins. Whitbread are obviously no good anymore. Went to the nearby Wetherspoon instead where there are no issues.

Plenty of parking but don't forget to register your number plate when you arrive otherwise you will receive a parking ticket in the post

Hidden away in Ashby at J13 of the A42 is the Premier Inn and the attached Brewer's Fayre, behind the McDonald's. 3 hours of parking is included if you register your car registration at the entrance to the restaurant, and food or drinks are ordered from the bar. A wide array of foods are available, and soda drinks are available as unlimited refill. Burgers are available without bun (shown) to reduce carb intake. The lasagna is good as are the bbq wings.

Very slow with food and it wasnt busy

Staff were absolutely brilliant with our children, they went above and beyond. Excellent customer service.

no customers still had to wait 35 minutes for ready cooked carvery...food missing poor qualty.

Wouldn't eat here again and wouldn't recommend it.... Coke had no flavour took it back and was told that it's fine and that "draft coke doesn't taste like normal coke!" So dreadful I couldn't drink it. We then waited 45mins for two burgers (9pm so not busy) and when the order came it was wrong! They took it back and put it in a bun to make it a burger, despite it not being the goujons ordered!!

Was disappointed with my Birthday meal!! It was only warm and the Chicken was dry with brittle bacon on top!! I did mention it to the waiting staff ... usual love coming but I will think about visiting it again!!

Giving the 5 stars to the staff running around like mad because this place gets busy they need more staff two young lady’s are really good at their job never stop shame on the owners and managers not having more staff and leaving it to these two lady’s you will wait for a long time for your food just expect it if it’s busier nearly a hour for my food but you can’t blame the staff it’s the managers

We had a delicious meal today. Definitely recommend and lovely staff!

Had garlic mushrooms with sauce over cooked had to pick up by hand, very bland should have had a side salad with it ,then I had hunters chicken that was cold ,the bacan wasn't cooked, I no they only had one cheff on ,but that was no excuse none of us enjoyed our meal

50 minutes wait for mains and they weren’t busy. Lasagne burnt and overcooked when asked the waitress what it probed at was told with attitude 75 anyone can say that it’s on the food juvenile list I’m guessing more like 85- onwards it burnt my mouth I dread to think what it would have done to a child. We won’t be visiting again, waste of £50 plus money not deserved.

We eat here most Saturday mornings, I love coming here because it has plenty of healthy options I can choose from to fit in with my slimming world journey
