Really quirky place which is well worth a visit. Came with family and it's got a fantastic atmosphere. Staff are so friendly and helpful and the food was excellent. Will definitely visit again

We have been wanting to visit here since we saw it on TV. We finally made it today and were delighted with out experience. The range of drinks is simply mind boggling. Wonderful!!. I could have stayed there all day sampling the drinks. My favourite was the Orange and Bergamot. Mmmmmmmm. We had lunch. Food was great. Very friendly people too. We hope to return soon.

Unique and friendly temperance bar-come-cafe in a centrally-located historical building near the historic town-centre with a hefty range of local cordials in bottles AND optics, served in still, fizzy or hot variations, as well as some superb cakes (and savoury lunch bites) and rather formidable looking milkshakes. We sampled seven taster drinks ranging from the sweet, the sour(ish) and the herbal, before plumping for hot blackcurrant and liquorice cordial and leaf tea, bolstered by a slab of superb victoria sponge. Very welcome on such a chilly day. Friendly staff, kid-friendly (they have a few toys) and a very steep set of stairs up to the additional seating. Previously featured in a few publications and by the Hairy Bikers and a worthy destination if you fancy non-alcoholic bevvies after a day on the moors or the ELR.

My girlfriend and I have just visited this lovely little Temperance Bar in Rossendale. It was my first time here and I must say I'd come again as often as possible. The food is fresh and homemade, the drinks are to die for. We came for breakfast and a drink each, everything is reasonably priced for the high quality. The atmosphere is homely and the staff are lovely! We were greeted at the door and were served quickly and with a smile! 10/10, would recommend to anybody looking for a quiet gem in the heart of the North!

Just called in for ice cream, 4 flavours which firstly was disappointing, when we left with our pitiful icecreams I was treated with hairs and dust in the tub!!! Disgusting

Nice cosy atmosphere. Coffees a bit small, but nice and hot. Sourdough toast was very good. Toilet could do with some TLC.

My favorite place in the world.

Met a friend for a pre-Christmas meet up and my wife and travelled from Cumbria. I really enjoyed the food and pleasant staff but the rhubarb and custard shake was stunning and gave me a lot of happy taste buds. Hope to revisit again soon.

I actually ordered some cordials from Mr Fitzpatrick's, which unfortunately were damaged in transit. Contact Mr Fitzpatrick's, Abbie from customer service, arranged to send me the replacement order. I had previously become aware of Mr Fitzpatrick's as I received some Cordials for a birthday, so this was me, ordering for myself. Checking out the choices available, I was delighted to see Sarsparilla, which I haven't had since my childhood, many moons ago. Of course Dandelion and Burdock and Ginger Cordial were obvious choices for me, oh to be a child again! I cannot wait to get into them all. Great service, Great Cordials. Well done Mr Fitzpatrick's

Lovely food in a quirky environment.

What a lovely little place!!! The staff totally made this visit with how friendly they were. They let us have little tasters of the cordials before we bought them with was a fab idea.

Since childhood I went into this shop when we went on holiday now I don’t go down very often. But to get the products on line is fantastic promptly delivered. We’ll packed. Now got our daughter. Addicted too

This review is for how they dealt with my online order of cordials from their website. After emailing to advise my order had not been received the office staff dealt with my issue very quickly and professionally with a replacement order being sent and received within 1 day. Any company can have issues with deliveries using Royal Mail etc but the sign of a good company is how they deal with issues. Thank you everyone for sorting this. Very impressed.

My mum and I had a lovely hot lunch at Mr. Fitzpatrick’s. The staff were extremely helpful and hospitable. And the drinks we had were delicious.

Just got back from a lovely lunch out here. I haven’t been for absolutely years so it was nice to revisit. The manager (I think her name could be Kimberley but I’m not sure!) was brilliant. Very friendly, helpful and attentive. The food was lovely, especially the waffles. The barbie waffle my friend had was a work of art! The cordial spritz was a great touch as it felt like we were having a drink but with zero alcohol in. I got a box of the cordials for at home too they were that good. Just a really nice, chilled out atmosphere, full of history, that brings fond memories of being a kid back. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area. Thanks ladies!

I've wanted to go here for a really long time and was so pleased to realise we were staying near the area. The drinks were amazing, so much choice and loved that there were some cordials that were good hot as well as cold. First we ordered a great, tasting selection- I think we had perhaps 8 drinks, 6 cold and 2 hot. Perhaps my favourite drink I tried- which I ordered a full drink of- was a root beer (which I am generally a big fan of) but everything was good. There were so many things I'd try on the menu if I went back- including innovative milkshakes using the cordials, crumbles, all sorts. The staff were friendly, polite and attentive and the place itself is a really fun building- when I first stepped in I didn't realise there is seating upstairs- so if it seems too busy make sure you check that. A brilliant alternative for people who don't want to drink alcohol for whatever reason- wish there was one in every town.

Went for milkshakes which were delicious

I was quite excited to visit as I’d previously seen it on ‘The Hairy Bikers’ TV show. First and foremost it’s unique and has historical connections to Lancashire. The staff were so friendly and polite. It was full inside, so we sat outside and spent time reading the menu from front to back. There are so many options to choose with Vegan and Gluten Free options also available for the drinks and some foods. I was given a free taster of the Ginger Beer which was delicious. I enjoyed a ham, cheese & tomato sandwich. ( Gluten Free Bread available on request)and had a ‘Bounty in’th County’ Milkshake (soya milk available) which contained ice cream and half a bar of milk chocolate Bounty, topped with cream! Naughty but so nice, in fact it was outstanding. Inside the shop they sell old fashioned sweets along with bottles of vintage drinks which can be Sparkling, still, hot or Aqua Spritz. They cater for children, adults and have many options. It was worth the 60 mile round trip, and afterwards we walked along the cobbled , Bank Street which has a good variety of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. Almost all parking around town is free for 3 hours by displaying a disc (clock). Without doubt we will return.

After reading TA reviews we took the grandchildren for a treat. They seem to enjoy their waffle based desserts but my review is regarding the adult food we ordered. I ordered the stew and dumplings with peas The peas had been over done , in the microwave ,and had exploded and I was left with mush and outer shells . The stew and dumplings was tasteless and a very small portion for the £7.95 charged. My girlfriend ordered soft poached eggs which came out as hard poached eggs, these were sent back and the replacements were no better. We wouldn’t return or recommend .

Absolutely wonderful! Amazing ice cream and milkshakes. Fresh, inventive and interesting array of cordials. Hot and tasty comfort food like Lancashire hotpot. Wonderful and quick service and really nice setup. The building itself is unchanged since it's glory days and reminds you of simpler times. Good allergy catering and vegan options available. Polite and cheerful staff and dogs welcome. A must! We'll be coming back for years! Mere words could not explain how amazing this place is.

We love the cordials and tonics at Fitzpatricks. Massive variety of flavours and an excellent alternative to going for a coffee or a beer. Friendly staff and always service with a smile. A bit of a wait on hot food, but happy to relax for longer as there is a great atmosphere.

Was looking for somewhere a little bit different to go en route to an overnight stay near Accrington for my birthday. Looked on trip advisor for somewhere 5 star What a fabulous little place. Staff and one of the regulars were very friendly indeed. food and drinks were fabulous. Would definitely go again. Highly recommended.

Visited today for the first time, staff extra friendly and made us feel really welcome! We was sat outside under the lovely heater but soon moved in side when there was room! Had the festive sandwich which tasted amazing! Will definitely be returning! Keep up the good work!!

I'm so glad to see Fitzpatrick's still here after all this time. My congratulations to the owner for doing a great job in maintaining the character whilst keeping it viable in these challenging times. It's an absolute must to visit. You can't go to Rawtenstall without having a sarsaparilla or root beer at Fitzpatrick's. It's a unique place and long may it thrive. Thanks for the chance to revisit a place from my youth and relive some happy memories.

Very glad I had time to try the temperance bar while in Rawtenstall. The building is quite small but I found this quite charming; I was seated upstairs by one of the windows. Staff were very helpful and chatty and the food and drink was excellent - I had a tuna cheese sandwich and raspberry and lavender cordial, the latter of which I particularly recommend. Unfortunately I had a bus to catch so I had to leave in a bit of a hurry, wish I could've stayed longer but it means I'll definitely be back when I'm in Rawtenstall again! Especially so I can try one of those amazing-looking milkshakes...

Enchanting enjoyable lunch out Visited on Bank Holiday after Christmas. Limited tables inside meant we were offered table outside straight away. Under gazebo with patio heater directly above so no hardship at all. We'd walked up from ELR station - short walk after hearing about the place on FB Ordered toasted sandwiches , fizzy dandelion and burdock and a hot lemon and ginger cordial. . Fresh tasty food , experience added to by the choice of drinks. Purchased bottle of lemon and ginger to take home. Lovely place that welcomes dogs inside - we were asked twice if we wanted to move inside but as a dogleg couple more than happy to admire dogs at other tables. Cakes and speciality milkshakes looked amazing - maybe next visit?

After reading reviews I really was disappointed with this place. Table booked and not one member of staff came to take our order, after 15 minutes we approached the counter and ask them to take it. We then waited nearly 50 minutes and still not...

All I can say is just WOW 😍 each and everyone of us enjoyed our order, staff were great, lovely location and very reasonable prices !! We will be back to test out more of the menu 😋 xx

I’ve passed this place many times and always been curious as to what it does, then one day I decided to stop of and give it a try. It’s a lovely little place with a huge selection of soft drinks, sweets and good food. The options will bring nostalgia to those who will remember some of these old beverages and sweets, but the young will also enjoy many of its offerings too. Would highly recommend visiting if you’re in the area, you won’t regret it!

Truly a little gem to have in your town. Always a warm welcome, with a fantastic team. Treats galore, with scrumptious cakes, sundaes, waffles, milkshakes ect and some yummy warming savoury favourites to enjoy. A highly recommended visit. Been here a few times, never fails to impress... milkshakes are a work of art , the cakes are brilliant, even the cheese sandwich I had was tasty . Priced well, they even have a street side gazebo. Staff friendly and helpful.........especially Hattie.......deserves a 100%...
