Fishermans Catch in Redditch

Just popped into get pack of chips and sausage. NEVER AGAIN. Chips were disgusting. May have been from dinner time? Unable to eat.

I ordered cod and chips to be delivered from here a couple of times during the first lockdown last year and they were good. However, I ordered a cod and chips meal last Saturday and it was inedible. The cod, I would debate that it actually was cod, was grey in colour and definitely not fresh, the chips were hard and cold when I received the meal. I telephoned the shop to complain and was told that the meal had been freshly cooked and was perfect when it left there, customer service skills were non-existent, I was told that there was really nothing they could do except perhaps deliver again after 9pm but there were no guarantees that they could do that because they were so busy. I did get a refund from Just East who I had ordered the meal through. This has left a very bad impression and I definitely cannot recommend them, I wish I had looked at the recent reviews before ordering. Perhaps they are under different ownership?

I ordered some food online today to pickup from this restaurant Appalled to find that none of the staff in there, including those cooking the food were wearing any face protection Is it any wonder that Coronavirus is spreading so fast Disgusting Had to throw my food away as it made me feel ill at the thought of what might have been coughed on it

asked for an order on just eat the person told us food was on way out an hour later rang again food wad on way out nice lady rang again some jumped up thug shouted and belitlited my girlfreind to the point of crying her nerves are not the best most of time as suffers with anxiety all over a few chips as he went onnbout not speeding the driver up he coukdent and wouldent and stuff just a bully i say to you urge you not to use avoid chips were cold food was so bad these people were liars and bullies avoid avoid

Worst chippy ever. Would rate 0 stars If I could. Just don't bother. I called the shop and wouldn't get an answer until about the 5th time because they pick up the phone and hang up on you straight away. When you eventually get through, they are just so rude on the phone - shouting at you and then hanging up again - they really just don't want to hear your order. When you get your order through either online or actually with the shop it takes ages to get there and their system of paying and ordering is shocking. I was charged twice for my order and only got a refund back 4 days afterwards after countless phone calls, emails and text messages. Nobody was even interested in my order or complaint. Avoid this chippy at all costs. Absolutely shocking.

Lived in Redditch for over 60 years and that was the worst take away i've ever had.The majority of the food was coldthe ' large ' chips were no more than a handfulthe ' cod ' wasn't cod it's hard to say what is was And the Kebab meat made me feel illnever ordering from them again.

Straight in the bin, not worth the calories. I would rather eat a wuhan bat than eat another one of there cardboard tasting chips. Hard, undercooked chips all dried out, as though they have been sitting there since before the lockdown. I will never eat there again. Honestly its so bad. This is my mrs account, i dont normally write reviews but this one was so bad i had to warn people.

Hi, We are so disappointed tonight, we placed an order for various meals including pizza, chips, chicken etc.... The food we had delivered was OK... just OK,,,, nothing to shout about. The pizza was tasteless and very rubbery. Chicken was very very greasy. But the main issue was the appalling customer service,,,, we had food missing, when we called them they were not bothered one bit, basically told us abruptly that no one could bring out the missing food and we should have enough with what was delivered. They spoke terribly to both my Wife and then me. Please ensure a credit is issued for the missing food and the chicken which we had to bin,,,,, if we do not get confirmation of our refund we will have no choice but to do a charge back on our credit card,,, the charge back will be for the full amount. We have already contacted our credit card, they have advised us to contact you in the first instance before they proceed with the charge back.

Waited two hours for our food to be delivered. Rang up twice in that time to be told “it’s on its way thanks bye” and hung up on without getting a word in. Absolutely disgusting service and awful attitude from the male staff member who answered the phone. Will never be using this company again. Worst experience to date.

The chips were crunchier on the inside than the outside - definitely well under cooked. The curry sauce was nice and chicken not bad. we only went because Andy's fish bar was closed - it reminded why we don't go there more often.

Being handed food the chips were definatly recooked and the batter on the fish was soggy instead of that fresh crispy crunch. I do not intend to eat here again

absolute rubbish stomach upset in the making late at night praying on drunk people only I was not drunk and designated driver , ordered sausage and chips curry sauce . the sausage was bearly warm but apparently only just cooked . manager shocking no words disgusting 🤢

I ordered food on the company website at 8.32pm Sunday 5th Aug 18. 2 kebabs and a kids meal. It's now 9.55pm and still no food. Called them up to be told they was just rapping the food up. No way it takes so long to do two kebabs and a kids meal. They clearly have no clue on time keeping even when they are quiet and in general don't care. Take money and offer poor service in return. Never use them as I won't again.

Went in and seen the dirty floor and how dirty not only the floors etc are but the clothes etc the staff wearing. Staff look like they haven't washed in days.. dirty, smelly and rude. Walked out because of this

20 minute wait for fish and chips, the guy serving put his hands all in my chips once they were finally being dished up. Once got home opened food to see the portion was tiny. Not even like the quality made up for the quantity, batter was all soggy, fish was mushy and the kebab was again, tiny portion. Will never go back. Place is dirty, customers were walking away was they weren’t even been acknowledged.

Ordered around 7pm. Not told there would be a wait. Ordered, waited 10 mins. Told manager I had to leave to catch a train. Given 1 pound less in my refund which was slammed on counter with no apology. Appalling service, won't be trying their food, shame!

This place is a mess we ordered it arrived late and was not our food so rang up and sent a new order which was received however we were due to this offered a free of charge of our regular meal next time we ordered as we were loyal to them until...I ring up to receive this promised meal i get an angry person saying i lie to be frank and even asked if I am homeless as i need food not how it works I'm afraid sign of bad communication and language.AVOID unless you want a sad day.I no longer go there now a full on joke!!!

Yet another disappointment from somewhere I have always had good takeaways from every order recently has been wrong and cold on delivery we ordered tonight a donner kebab and kebab meat and chips in a tray, I always thought that a donner kebab came in a Pitta but not tonight I had the biggest portion of meat I have ever seen which was so dry very disappointed x

I personally really like the food from here. The man that works there always cooks the fish fresh and the chips are always crunchy. I've never had takeaway though but for fish and chips I think best in redditch

I've used the fishermans catch for years but didn't realise how good the delivery is - I don't even need to go up town to get a cracking pie and chips with curry sauce and couple of beers with family or the gf or lads or whoever!

Had a lovely meal at this family run chip shop - Gav recommended it to me from David Lloyd and it was well worth the trip!

The chips, the fish, everything is lovely, well cooked, clean place too. We are on a diet atm. We will visit again asap!

I had Cod Row and Chips here yesterday and It was outstanding Quality and the Chips Were Amazing. The Owner really looked after us. He made us feel very welcome and he is a really nice man. We know his son Gav and it was a pleasure to finally meet his dad. I highly recommend this place. We really enjoyed our lunch.

Took an hour and a half to come. Was cold. Completely wrong order. Finally got the right order another 40 mins later. Tasted vile. Will never use again!!!

Food arrived an hr and half late and was wrong. Food was cold and then portion size was pathetic..advise people order from another place as I'd never go here again.

Typical Pakistani restaurant not worried about the quality just how much they can scam off you cheap products over inflated prices

We came for fish and chips just before Christmas, and they were some of the best I have tasted. The serving staff were friendly and our food was thoroughly cooked. If you've never eaten their food, please give it a try and like us you will return again and again. Exc

Absolutely Awful!! They served my boyfriend chicken meat in a green furry mould naan bread!! I've Never seen anything like it! The fact it wasn't noticed before serving is the most awful thing ever! As it was the most noticeable thing ever!!

Used them for first time last night. Phoned to place order for four meal deals for home delivery. Person who answered phone could not understand or speak English very well, took many repeats to get across. Was told delivery would be 40 minutes. After an hour I chased the order and was told it is being bagged now and will be delivered within 5-6 minutes. A further 35 mins later it was delivered- no apologies just a request for £24.20. When we unpacked the bags, there was one can of Pepsi missing, no salad for one meal and only 3 of the 4 portions of chips ordered. Unbelievable! Biggest bunch of no-hopers pretending to be a top take - away ever. And as someone else said in a review, worst burgers ever bought. I am convinced that the patties are not made with beef. Will never use them again !!!

not big fan here but been few times more when i was younger used be a lot better then . worth going see what you think as every one tastes are diffrent

Just had 2 burger and chips delivered. Having just eaten the meal i can confidently say it was the worst burger my wife and i have ever had. I would like to challenge the owner to eat one of his burgers and tell me if he managed to pick out ANY flavour from the whole meal. With no exaggeration there was absolutley NO flavour in the burger or seasoning placed in the bun. Why would anyone sell something so none discript and expect repeat business.Will i order again?????? NO CHANCE.......

Other than the over saltyness of the chips and other products this chippy isnt too bad for quality and price and atleast the grease and salt helped with the hangovers after a hard night of drinking!

If you are looking for chips....youve found them, sometimes good, sometimes bad, but its always there....so its convenient

I just to use this chippy but moved away from the area. I came back and decided to go to Fisherman's catch, I was disapointed to see how much it had changed, it looks cheap. Anyway, I was suprised that on a friday night, there wasn't any cooked food in the glass heater. I ordered and found the food over priced and the amount of chips not to mirror the pirce paid The one good thing I have to say is - The curry sauce was amazing. I wouldn't return to this chip shop.

Been looking for a decent chippy in Redditch since Crabbs Cross Chippy closed earlier in the year been using the Flying Fish in Astwood Bank but a bit far out so decided to try Fishermans Catch. Fish was cooked fresh on order and was excellent quality. Fish from chippys in Redditch is very hit and miss and here it was most certainly a hit.Will definitely be returning as it is closer to home and good quality food.

Went There last night around 11.30pm and town seemed really busy but chippie was near enough empty.But i was hungry so ordered chicken and chips.I Was very worried when I saw the chicken being microwaved first.Got back and chips were okay I would say 3/5 but the chicken was appalling very dry probably due to the fact it had been microwaved first.I won't be going here again and facility needs updating.

I have pasta and salad quite often as I am working away from home. This is a good local business in a town with a number of national companies but not much in the evening.

Always had a good reputation for choice and quality years ago when I lived in Redditch, this is still true, Highly recommended

when we want fish & chips we go to Fishermans Catch The fish is always cooked to "order" so be you will have to be paitent, but the wait is well worth it ,,,,,,,,great Fish& ChipsAll Ways freshley cookedI would like to point out to the managementNEVER put hot fish & chips in a polyetheylene carrier bagThey with make the PE sweat and if you travel a long way the fish & chips are soggywhen you poen themGet PAPER BAGS ONLY ....

The Fisherman's Catch used to be a half reasonable chippy, but it has gone downhill of late. I wouldn't bother to go there unless I was starving hungry and it was the only place open.

since new owners took over the place has gone down hill food is terrible tried a couple of times no change

Food is tod I would say to never eat here go over the road it's a dam good chippy and staff are great

I found the fried fish and chips traditionally presented and especially tasty.

A very poor experience. Lukewarm, dry chips with lots of burnt bits mixed in, soggy fish and a 10 minute wait and whoever runs the place clearly doesn't care. Sad, but the art of decent fish and chips seems to have been completely lost in Redditch. The only positive about the place is that the fish and chip place opposite is, unbelievably, even worse than this!

The food was ok, however I was not that impressed witht eh quality of the food. It was edible, the food seemed like it was just kept warm, there are much better chips shops around Redditch.
