Hands down the best fish and chip shop in south Herts! We travel from Cheshunt. However, and not to be funny, but I wish the other staff members could be taught how to skin a fish when the owner isn't about.

I live in hertford and it's worth travelling the extra few miles as they are the best fish and chips for miles all cooked perfect and at a good price the only down side is you may have to wait but that's not a problem I've never had any bad food here just go here if you want lovely fish and chips you won't regret it.

Absolutely lovely fish and chips, and here’s the thing, the gherkin was the best gherkin I’ve had since I don’t know when! I’d forgotten a gherkin could be so juicy and fresh. Well done. Ps I like gherkins

Been coming here for years - a bit on the pricey side, but worth it for the quality fish and chips. Sometimes they get busy so you might have to queue briefly, but I believe you can order ahead. No parking, but 200 yards away is a public car park so easy to park. Good variety of fish on offer here - nice and fresh, always cooked well. Can definitely recommend as the best in Ware area.

Unfortunately I got severe food poisoning from scampi that wasn’t cooked properly. I didn’t notice until halfway through eating it. 100% sure it was from this place and just leaving a review because I don’t want it to happen to others.

We have been using this takeaway for years because the fish is always of good quality. The chips are OK and the service is usually swift and polite. One recurring downside is that they only take cash and no credit cards. We've all become so used to using cards for every small purchase since the pandemic, it would be helpful if they accepted them.

Been going a few times before and tonight was quieing 10 minutes before closing and then was told was shut at 7:55 I thought fair enough but was then laughed at by one of the staff, then proceeded to the only other fish and chip shop in ware and received great service and they will now be getting my order from now on.

Thought fish was expensive, que was long and service slow. Finally got a large fish ( well they said it was large) swimming in grease. Not very enjoyable I’m afraid. I won’t be going back again.

Quick service as 2 fish were ready cooked., large portions of haddock and not too expensive. Parking nearby. No telephone orders on Saturday.

Takeaway fish and chips. £4.50 deal at lunchtime for seniors. They always tell you the name of the trawlers from whom they bought the fish and the variety of potatoes that go into their chips. Changed hands fairly recently and priced have risen z bit. Quality pretty good most times we have visited. Recommended.

This is a really decent, classic fish and chips. The locals all seem to love it and have been visiting for years. You can only collect but we've been here several times and it's always been constantly good. They alternate the battered fish available and they also sells scraps for those of us who like the old school ways. Usually a 5 minutes queue here out the door at peak time. Good value for money as we usually get a large chips, medium cod, two saveloys and a battered sausage for £10.95. Would recommend this for a classic fish and chips.

My family and myself have been going here when it was called Fred's for over 50 years! Me over 25 years! Now called wrights we still only use them for our fish and chips etc,we have never had a bad experience!

Decent chips, although I do prefer the Sea Tree, which is just round the corner.

Fabulous fish and chips. Always a queue as it it so good. Friendly service. Have been having fish and chips from Wrights for years.

Shop service is poor. Queue is constantly out the door due to small size of shop. Don't have to worry about queue jumpers the staff just choose to ignore you and serve the next person.

Consistently good quality, tasty food. I worked here as a kid over 30 years ago, it's still owned by the same family so I know their food standards and cleanliness are the same. I would recommend this takeaway to anyone.
