Ordered 2 pizzas and an ice cream. The order arrived late, despite being pre-booked, and the quality of the food simply wasn't good enough to justify the spend.

Ordered for delivery, over an hour late and wrong order! Food was extremely cold and the driver said it was only his second shift. No excuse!

Ordered online and it took 1 hour to arrive, even though we live 2 minutes away. I ordered a normal cheese pizza, and by the picture it looked lovely. The cheese was hard and in one slab on top of the base, I literally peeled the disgusting cheese of the pizza in one go. The base was dry and very thin. The only nice thing was the lotus milkshake, even still that was very sweet.

Absolutely appalled. Ordered a strawberry and nutella desert pizza after a long day and was given a half and half banana and strawberry pizza. This wasn’t an issue until after I told them and they proceeded to PICK the banana pieces off (no hand washing bare in mind) and hand the pizza back to us. They didn’t even pick off all the pieces and as someone who is disgusted by bananas I didn’t dare even take a bite. Appalling service. Ruined my week. Final straw.

Was delighted to see an alternative to Dominoes open up in Barnstaple with it's artisan appearance. Our first experience on 7 Feb was really positive - whilst they cost a little more, we were impressed with prompt service, and the quality, taste, and appearance of the pizzas. The only downside was that one of the pizzas offered the ability to add Chirozo, which we wanted but the option wasn't working. When I asked why, the answer was "it's a head office decision and they decided not to supply chirozo" which seems strange because the company is a franchise, so those decisions surely can be made locally. And the next day, I also noticed I had a little tummy upset but being ECV, that's not rare so I thought nothing of it. We were really keen to order from Fireaway again to support a new local business, and see them thrive, so a couple of weeks later after a days redecorating, we ordered exactly the same pizzas as the first time. However, our second order was a disappointing - it was not quite as well presented as the first and seemed very slightly under-cooked, but OK. We also added a couple of cannoli to the order. It wasn't clear how many cannoli you get per serving (5!) so one would have been sufficient as we then had 10 cannoli to eat. They didn't have the flavour we ordered (pistachio), so substituted without notice with another, and gave us a can of Coke (which sadly neither of us drink) in recompense. And the next day, we both had upset stomachs. Again, we didn't necessarily attribute it to the pizzas and decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. Our latest order, last Friday, however, was a disaster. I decided to go for the Margarita this time to avoid any possibility of stomach upset. If you look at their menu (image attached), the Margarita looks very appealing with plenty of tomato base, fresh basil, and buffalo mozzarella. What arrived (see photo) bore no resemblance whatsoever, and looked like a basic supermarket frozen pizza sprinkled with few dried supermarket herbs down the middle and not a tomato base or basil leaf in sight. Also, it was clear that both pizzas had been burnt on the crusts - especially my husbands, which was black. Thankfully, neither of us suffered any stomach complaints on this occasion, but previous experiences had made me wonder about hygiene and hand-cleanliness. Sadly, following this latest experience, until such time they up their game with quality assurance and consistent ingredients as advertised, we will definitely not be buying pizzas from Fireaway again. Back to Dominoes with their consistent quality control. Shame really...

This is an absolute favourite! Never fails to deliver, with lots of choices and super home made dishes. Family approach but equally about food and the whole culture of enjoying good food!
