This place is a good bit out of the way in the Royal Deeside area, but it’s well worth seeking out for a tasty breakfast or lunch. We stopped off on a Sunday lunchtime. As usual, it was busy. But thankfully, having been here several times, we knew to book. Saw some disappointed looking people who hadn’t. The food here is consistently great. The firm favourite for us, is there soup and panini combo. A true bargain for just under a tenner. What’s so great about it, is that the soups of the day frequently change. On this day, I had the carrot and coconut, my wife had the tomato and basil. Both were fabulous. Bursting with flavour, as we have come to expect. My panini with tomato, pesto, and mozzarella, was delicious. My wife’s roasted vegetable and hummus one, just as tasty. The service here is excellent. The ideal balance of friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. It’s a fairly compact place, with space on the ground and balcony levels, as well as decent sized outdoors area, for summer days, and people with dogs. This is a firm favourite for people in the know. But be sure to book in advance.

Really nice looking place but … the layout of the restaurant areas is absolutely terrible. The shelving with gifts etc is intermingled in with the eating areas which causes a big issue with being to just browse at what’s on offer on the shelves. Quite claustrophobic in areas and I personally would not like to eat my probably overpriced food whilst people were trying to look at gifts litterally inches from Me .. all in all made me feel quite unnerved..

A small group of us arrived at about 1045 onna Saturday. It was busy but we were invited to take a seat outside. The waitress came over fairly promptly. The group 4 coffees 3 rolls and a cake. The coffees had been drunk before the order came. The cake then came. We were joined a good 25 mins later by 4 others who ordered. One of their irder came before ours!. In total 45 mins to wait on a sausage and bacon roll. Unfortunately not time we have on a regular basis. Also quite pricey

Visited for coffee and cake. Lovely choice of cakes and scones. I wanted a cheese scone and informed that none were left but immediately I was given a choice of what was available by the very friendly staff member. If we had been there for more than a quick snack, the menu looked very good. Farm shop tempted a few purchases. Definately recommend a visit here.

What a find! We were heading home, and looking for somewhere for a coffee or bite to eat. There was a signpost to a coffee shop, and we came across the Farm Shop. There is a well stocked shop, selling lots of unusual items – beetroot pasta, quail pate, etc. But the crème de la crème is the restaurant. The food was out of this world! We had lentil and tomato soup; a bacon roll (tasty bacon with a home made roll), and finished it with raspberry frangipane, served with ice cream. The frangipane was lovely, fantastic pastry, and the ice cream was the creamiest I’ve ever tasted. If you’re in the area, make the effort to find this Farm Shop – you won't be disappointed!

It was difficult to choose from the daily specials and regular menu. Soup can be served with a sandwich, bacon breakfast roll or sausage roll. What options! The food was tasty, and the bacon sandwich was well filled with crispy bacon. The accompanying salad to the quiche and panini was tasty and innovative (not a squirty coating of cheap dressing slathered onto limp salad, like in so many places). The farm shop was filled with tempting pictures, soft furnishings, books, cards and fresh and frozen produce. I would definitely return.

We are both in our eighties. We selected Finzean Estate Farm Shop as the place to head out to from Aberdeen for lunch on what was for us a special day in our married life. Having been there several times before, we knew what to expect by way of food and service, and so could travel out there by car with confidence in what still remain tricky road conditions in places. The lunch menu is always interesting, and our most recent lunch there was ideal for this time of year, with a choice of home made soups and some interesting hot rolls (with flaky pastry) to go with them. Such was the quality of what was on offer that the pricing struck us as being fair and reasonable. The service was, as always, excellent. We were made to feel very welcome. 'Tea Room' sounds a bit twee, and a touch limiting. I can see why the meal facility is not called a restaurant, but it is entirely possible to make lunch time choices there which are both filling and fulfilling. Limited choices, but also choices with a difference, interestingly compiled, well presented and strikingly fresh. The ambience suits us well, and the surrounding countryside is lovely. We were very pleased with our choice of venue, which achieved for us all that we had hoped for and expected. We will certainly go back.

Very disappointed, we arrived and were told that lunch didn’t start until 12.00. We were happy about that as we had no rush, we were seated and told the table was needed @ 13:00! No problems as we were only in for lunch! We ordered the mushroom soup and a coffee and scone, the coffee and scone arrived first which we thought was strange but never mentioned it, the soup arrived which looked lovely but on tasting it there was no seasoning, I know seasoning is a personal thing but the soup had no flavour either! Staff members passed on a couple of occasions and never asked if everything was ok, as the would have noticed that my wife only took two spoonfuls and put it to the side! I tried but found it had no taste or flavour so once the bread ( which was really nice) was finished I couldn’t finish me soup! On going to pay I was not asked if everything was good, which is normal when you go to pay! The coffee and scone were very good This was very disappointing visit from the initial welcome to the soup! Having heard and been recommended by friends we felt let down by the complete experience.

Hadn't booked but managed to get a lunch table on Wednesday for two with a highchair for young Gavin. We adults enjoyed excellent soup and a sandwich that was good value. Gavin had his own snacks as he is only 18mths old but he tried a few spoonfuls of both the celeriac & parsnip soup and the carrot and coriander soup and was duly impressed. Premises are clean and the staff were efficient and friendly as they have been on previous visits. Just wish Finzean was less that 190 miles from our home so that we could enjoy it more often.

Was not disappointed, this is a lovely cozy cafe/ restaurant serving delicious hot food. There is n every day menu with soups, sandwiches panini’s cakes and scones etc., and also a daily blackbird which was offering fresh homemade food. We opted for the homemade Stovies. This was a lovely big portion of hot steaming Stovies full of lovely meat and potatoes with delicious warm beetroot on top and homemade oatcakes which were also delicious. We did not opt for any afters, however will certainly return to try their tempting cakes and scones! My friend could not eat all her Stovies and when paying our bill the lady at the fill kindly asked if we would like to take what she left away in a takeout container. This was a kind gesture and was eaten for supper time in the evening. Nice service and friendly staff with a lovely farm shop selling lots of fresh local produce. Not far from Ballater and the hiking trails at the Muir of Dinnet, it's definitely worth the very pleasant journey. There's a farm store stocked with locally sourced veggies, meats, home baked bread, pastries, jams and pate' of many varieties, including quail! We waited what felt like an excessive period of time to place a simple order of two sandwiches and two drinks. The food - decidedly average and overpriced - was served fairly quickly but with no drinks. How difficult can it be??? Out of good grace and maybe some embarrassment we were not charged for the drinks. To add to our annoyance, my other half waited several minutes for the till assistant to finish her chat with a friend before being able to pay. Won’t be going back.

I'd been hoping for a scone with cream and jam, but sadly only cheese ones left by 4pm, so my friend and I opted for the coffee cake, which was delicious. Service was friendly and prompt. So we had only a bacon butty at 11.35 as you cannot even get the yoghurt breakfast. Was not allowed to order a sandwich as the girl waitress said no orders to be taken until 12pm. I believe this cafe/shop is owned by the Fizean Estate. And there was a big extension put on this summer. I do not know the size of the kitchen or why the rules are in place but it seems very odd. Stopped here for lunch last weekend and as usual it was lovely, We had Leak and asparagus quiche and a ploughman's, the quiche was great, but a bit small for my taste but lucky I went for the ploughman's as it was better with a selection of cheeses, pickles and breads/oatcakes, I would of liked a bit more breads and less of the oatcakes but what I had was very tasty.

I have been to the Finzean Estate Tea Room and Farm Shop before, but used this occasion to revisit with my wife and elderly mother-in-law for lunch. I just love the atmosphere. Usually busy (so best to book if you can), despite its location in the depths of the beautiful Deeside countryside, the welcome is always warm and friendly. As well as a great place to go for lunch or afternoon tea, the Farm Shop is well stocked with local produce including fresh vegetables and eggs, chilled and frozen meat and ready meals etc. I can never resist the opportunity to buy venison and game, as available.

Having spent the day at nearby Glen Tanar estate we decided to stop in past for a coffee on the way home! On taking my 5 year old out of the car I noticed he had picked up a tic on his neck! I had no idea of the correct way to remove it, so I asked the staff if they could advise! Wow...they were more attentive and caring than any hospital! Without exaggeration every member of staff offered some sort of help from getting their mother to drop off a tic remover to getting a local nurse to have a look! In the end one very kind member got it out to not even a peep from my 5 yo!

We were so impressed with the quality of the ingredients, the friendly service and the lovely surroundings. We were both tempted by the players, one fish and one meat and were suitably impressed.

A visit to Finzean Farm Shop & Tea Room is a must. Yesterday we enjoyed a delicious 'Afternoon Tea' with family & friends to celebrate my birthday and everything was simply perfect. The location is stunning, the service was attentive and very friendly and the superb array of savoury & sweet delights were beautifully presented and absolutely delicious with the option of refills of tea & coffee when required. One friend is gluten free and was delighted by the tasty selection they had created for her, by far the best she'd every had. 5 star perfection, we will all certainly return very soon.

First visit here today & definitely won't be our last! Delicious lunch served by genuine, friendly, efficient staff. Sandwiches on quality bread with an unusual but very tasty salad & crisps. Seriously good scone with curled butter (haven't seen that for years!) & yummy jam. Absolutely top notch!

Have been visiting Finzean for the last ten years and never disappointed. It's a lovely welcoming stop for us on the way further up Deeside. This visit we were short of time so could only manage a drink, which turned out to be the best hot chocoalte we've had in years! Also bought some delicious fresh produce and gifts. Not the cheapest place you'll find but for this level of quality it's worth every penny!

Some lovely fresh local produce available such as vegetables, home made soups, all sorts of meat, meals and pretty much anything you can think of. Definitely worth a visit.

It’s worth a trip along south Deeside as the scenery is nice and the Dee is a lovely river. It’s even more worthwhile if you visit this tearoom and farm shop. The food is very good and it has a nice fresh atmosphere.

Lovely little cafe, run by volunteers. We went in for a light bite. They have a gluten free selection, which is ideal as Mrs B is coeliac. Tea came in a real tea pot 😊 Food was really tasty and reasonably priced, service very friendly. I thoroughly recommend dropping in.

A wonderful lunch we did not plan the visit and they were able to accommodate us. A great choice was available to meet a variety of needs. We opted for the fritters (black pudding and haggis) as a starter to share. This was delightful. The main courses were equally good with mother in law having beef lasagne whilst the Hunters chicken beckoned me. Well worth a trip

We are now regulars at the Seafield Arms as it is so good. It was my birthday and where else would we go for a special meal. This time, we tried the surf and turf block. We were not disappointed as the seafood and steak were cooked to perfection. As well as the fresh local vegatable selection. The hotel manager had to get up at 4am to get the lobster. That is dedication to perfection. Our friend had a sirloin steak, cooked to her satisfaction. Our daughter had the mac and cheese and was more than happy. The girls finished the meal with sticky toffee pudding and creme brulee. Yum Yum. The service was professional and very friendly. We have a concern, what will we have to eat the next time as it is all so good.
