Finale Thai Tapas & Dining in Derby

This is the prettiest little restaurant I have ever seen. The food is delicous, with a wide menu choice and the service is friendly and meticulous. It's wise to book to avoid disappointment!

Myself and seven friends visited the restaurant on a Friday evening for my birthday. We all a variety of starters, mains and rice and wine. The food was lovely with good portions on all dishes. I had Thai green curry and egg fried rice it did not disappoint. We all had a lovely time. A small and friendly restaurant with great food and a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. We had pre-ordered our food and the staff were very professional and friendly when servicing to our table. I’ll definitely be returning to try something different. The menu is very extensive and caters for all dietary requirements.

Visited for my birthday based on a recommendation. Greeted straight away by a very friendly waiter who explained the large menu. The food is obviously cooked from fresh as there is a short wait for main courses. We all had different dishes and all three were fantastic. We agreed that this was the best Thai food we have had in the UK and reasonably priced. Brilliant!

I've been to Thailand many times, but this place does taste ordinary and doesn't allow add-ons，and If you're not white, I suggest you don't eat here. It's ironic that the receptionist was unkind to yellow people when she herself is dark-haired and yellow-skinned .

Raised voice in an extremely rude way soon after we suggested one of the dish might need some improvement. We felt sorry so suggested shall we order something else instead. Surprisingly she came back with sarcastic threatenings.

This is the second time we've been, and both times have been great. The welcome is always warm and friendly. The menu is large and everything we've had has been fresh, tasty and filling. Best Pad Thai I've had in the UK since being in Thailand! It's a cosy, smaller restaurant and somewhere we will be returning to again.

We have been to Finale quite a few times now. Every time has been a great experience. The atmosphere is calm and relaxed and the food is lovely. Great vegan options for me. We will be back!

So glad we finally visited, the food here is incredible! We had the mixed seafood platter to start followed by a prawn massaman curry which was all devine. Price was good, service lovely if just a tad on the slow side. Will be visiting again for sure!

What a delight this place is. We had been wanting to try it out for a while and we are so glad we finally did! We have not enjoyed a meal like that in such a long time. The food was amazing and presented beautifully. The service was also spot on. My partner is gluten intolerant and there was plenty of choices for him. As other peope have said, its a very small and intimate place and the atmosphere is lovely. We will be recommending to our friends and family and will also be going back soon to sample the rest of the delicious looking menu! Well done to all at Finale!

We had been meaning to try this restaurant for a while and were not disappointed at all. The setting is nice and intermate and the food was fantastic. For us, this is somewhere to revisit without a doubt.

Booked for a Friday evening and restaurant was quite busy , starters were good but just felt the main meals let it down a little Food seemed a little bland, I have been Thailand and food seemed to have been westernised a little Service was fine , if honest would make this as average to good

Amazing freshly cooked food to order in a rather small quaint little place. It's vert easy to walk past, hidden away but it's a gem! I would strongly advise booking!

We have just got back from Thailand and having had such a lovely time we were desperate to try and recapture some of our experience. The food here is really good and the service is excellent. Can’t wait to come back. But also, really need to go back to Thailand!

Visited Derby to meet an old mate and found this place on TripAdvisor. It certainly is intimate. Beautiful, interesting building, lovely service and great food! What a find!

Our first visit and definitely won’t be our last. A very intimate dining experience. The food was delicious. Presented well and hot. Service was friendly but not fussy which is what we like. Thank you for a wonderful meal.

Had a fantastic meal very friendly staff all our food was fabulous very well cooked and presented the chef definitely knows how to use spices it’s only a small place but definitely worth a try if you like Thai food there were plenty of gluten free options as one of our group was gluten intolerant also they cater for vegetarians and vegans we will definitely be going again absolutely excellent

Food is absolutely delicious, the massaman curry is my personal favourite, along with the hot and spicy chips. The lady host can not do enough for her customers and kept my wine glass full the whole night. So nice to have a unique family run business, oppose to a soulless pub chain ect. I went with my partner and another couple and me all felt the same. Hoping to order a take away at New Year.

If you're looking for a bad review then I suggest that you look at the other nonsense that has been left below. I can honestly say that Finale is the best place in Derby. I feel so sorry for the wonderful owners who have to read the rubbish that some half-wit drunken has left. This establishment is refined, the elite among us eat here early doors so that we can avoid these types. The service, food and atmosphere are to die for. It is empty late on a Saturday evening because of such morons. The place has a massive list of loyal customers to survive. They do not need the likes of you for your custom. I do hope that the owners see me reason for dropping their rating down a certain percentage. The most clicks are on the negatives and not the positives, that is unfortunately the way of the world.Bless you, I wish you every success.

Really good choice of food, beautifully cooked and served. Small inside so service prompt. Several things in place such as vertical plastic partitions between tables, everyone encouraged to use the hand gel on arrival and plenty of soap and paper towels in the bathroom made us feel very safe from risk of infection. Good value for money. This was our first visit but it certainly won't be our last

Had a take away delivered. It had a mass manufactured look and taste - hard to describe the latter but the chicken in particular did not taste fresh.

This is a small restaurant with a good menu. Food beautifully prepared and presented. Tasted good as well Friendly and efficient service. I like spicy food...beware ...their "hot" is definitely "hot"

After seeing the great reviews we booked this lovely little restaurant for our evening meal last night & we were not disappointed! We both had the chicken panang, steamed rice & a pad Thai to share. Everything was cooked to perfection and beyond tasty. The service was wonderful & we were shocked by how decent the bill was considering we also shared a bottle of wine! We are not local but if we visit Derby again we will be returning to Finale.

Lovely little Thai restaurant. Had the tapas menu which was superb, wonderful spicey and varied meals. Only a small place but the staff are very good. Give this place ago.

The place is very small but cosy. First time trying Thai food, we went for the tapas so we could try a few different dishes. The food was very flavoursome! The service was very good, really polite waitress and very attentive. We will definitely return.

Had a wonderful meal here on the 16th August. We started with the seafood platter and I had a Thai vegetarian curry for my main with sticky rice with my wife having a beautiful sea bass dish and coconut rice (I think her rice was a better choice tbh but mine was nice). Skipped pudding as we were stuffed! Liked it so much I think we’re going to take the kids there this weekend- sorry for anyone else that’s there at the same time!

I recently booked this restaurant for a birthday meal with my boyfriend. When you walk in it’s not quite what you expect. But the food and service was brilliant, couldn’t fault it. All came in at a very reasonable cost as well. Love finding little independent restaurants like this.

We ordered a selection of the tapas dishes, 3 each which was slightly ambitious for us! All the dishes were packed with flavour and enjoyed by all. Service was very friendly, only the interiors that are a bit cold and leave the overall atmosphere a bit flat.

Ordered the vegetarian spring rolls and gree curry with egg fried rice. Excellent meal, great ambience and service. The only quibble i might have is the size of the portions were a bit smaller than they could have been.

I've had a lot of Thai food, including from this spectacular woman from a small village in Thailand who just laughed at me before cooking delicious food. Despite the paranoia, I ate it. It was amazing. And Finale's food is as excellent as hers was. A lovely, relaxing ambiance brings down the walls you erect during the day before an assault of taste is launched against your tastebuds. I keep coming back here, and you should too. If you've never tried Thai and find yourself the person in the group pooh-poohing coming here, get over yourself and just go.

I ate Thai food once before & hated, years later I was tempted to try it here. Glad I did. So different to my last experience. Delicious food and a delightful relaxed setting. Will come again, I'm converted!

I stopped going to Thai restaurants years ago in Derby because they just weren't any good any more until now. Been to this place 3 times in the last 2 weeks and boy it's so very good, tasty and consistent. One of the best asian restaurants in Derby, a truly hidden gem!

We met friends here for dinner on a Friday night... all though the restaurant was full, it still had a lovely relaxed atmostphere and the service was great. We were not rushed at all. I had the chicken satay to start and then the Thai green curry and coconut rice for my main, it was delicious.

First visit to finale and wasn’t disappointed - quaint little restaurant, food was amazing and so fresh tasting and the lady whose served us was so friendly. Would definitely recommend

My first experience of Thai food, this place is amazing we had chicken satay and fermented sausage starters, mains were king prawns with cashew nuts and duck in Thai green curry with noodles and coconut rice, cannot fault the food or service, a lovely little find will definitely be returning.

My wife and I eat here regularly. The food is always good, well above average and it is a small restaurant with very gentle and kind staff. I would recommend it for dates and couples as it is a tranquil setting to talk and with good but not overloud music.It is much better than some of the more flamboyant thai restaurants I have been to.It is easy to walk past without noticing it. I would recommend it, give it a try

We visited this restaurant as we were keen to try out a local non-chain restaurant. We weren’t disappointed.

Once again a really enjoyable meal in a small, quiet, restaurant in the middle of Derby City centre. Four of us had a beautiful meal, all of which were different mains. A very attentive waitress couldn't do anymore for us, giving details of spices and how some of the menu is made. I would recommend this Restaurant to anyone who enjoys Thai, and we will be returning as soon as possible.

I visited finale Thai with friends on entering the restaurant it was a little small but beautifully presented. The lady who served us was really polite and very good, everything that was brought to the table was explained to us and the service was faultless.

Great food and freshly made! This place is a little lovely and cosey! Great value! definitely recommend! The green curry and Tom yum soup is delish!!

It’s Not what I expected, but it was clean. We had the set menu, my meal was fine.... but my partner meal had 3 pieces off chicken in the red thai curry. When I questioned the waitress she was adamant that there should be five, she ran to the chef to get it confirmed and came back and told me there is definitely five! She didn’t do anything about it, then she was slightly rude! WONT be returning.

There were four of us. We were seated by the door. The space was drafty. The bar and stairs (used to retrieve and deliver food for the entire restaurant) were in the space we were seated in. It was distracting.

The resturant itself can easily be walked past from the outside. Inside is equally small but i liked that it was cosy. I had a beef massaman curry with sticky rice, it was delicious, it was full of flavor the beef had a blush of pink and was really soft. We also had a beef pad Thai again was delicious. I cant wait to return and try more of the menu. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for great thai food and service

Booked finale thai for a birthday meal after reading the reviews on here. Gorgeous, intimate setting in the middle of the strand. The food was amazing. Menu clearly marked with allergens and vegan options. The masaman curry was the best I have ever had. The lady that served us was lovely. We had 2 drinks each, starters, main and shared rice and the bill came to about £50. I have already recommended the finale thai and will definitely visit again.

Ive not written a review in years but the food was so incredibly good last night I feel compelled to post a review. A romantic little restaurant. Attentive service. Food cooked to perfection and probably the best thai ive had. The duck and beef were both “blushing”, the calamari was soft with a perfectly light and crispy coating, fishcakes so beautifully fragrant..i could go on but you get the gist. If you’re considering going, you wont be disappointed

We accidently came across this restaurant. What a gem it is. We were shown a table by the window. It is very clean and the lady who served us was extremely polite welcoming and efficient. We had the 2 course special £14.95 each which included a drink. I cannot praise it enough the soup I had was really delicious and a good portion size. I had a green thai curry that too was so good and my husband tried the sweet and sour both had heaters to keep them warm and it's served with steamed rice. The whole restaurant has a warm clean feel about it and would recommend. Would certainly return.

Had a lovely meal in this small intimate restaurant where the service was impeccable. The price was reasonable.

Fabulous food, attentive service in a spotlessly clean room. We enjoyed starters and main meals. They were superb. No condiments on the table, not required. The balance of flavours were perfect. When I am back in Derby I will definitely return and strongly recommend this excellent restaurant.

Last min booking on a Saturday night. Food was way better than expected. Sweet and sour chicken was so fresh. Will be back!

Not been for several years, where we lived in Derby and returned on a weekend back. Food as brilliant as it was back then. Perfect romantic evening in a quaint little building, the atmosphere is a lot different to most restaurants. The lady (the owner) runs everything downstairs on her own brilliantly (I don't know where she gets the energy from).

I highly recommend chicken satay, the food is made with love and with very affordable prices, the barmaid's treatment is incredible, a place where you are very comfortable

Great food and nice atmosphere went with a group from work for our Christmas party ate early then went on for drinks.

A group of us ate here early doors. From the outside it looks like Hansel and Gretel’s cottage. We loved the intimate atmosphere as it’s a small restaurant. The service and food were faultless. One of our party was vegetarian and she was equally impressed. Would highly recommend a visit and we’ll definitely go again.

We really enjoyed our meal here at this lovely little restaurant. It was quiet at the time we ate, which we don't mind.

Nice little place we visited, quite quaint , perhaps a little small as you did feel you were almost easting at the same table as the fellow diners. The food was tasty, however I did feel is was probably 'watered' down so to speak on the spicyness. Portion sizes were adequate and would definitely visit again if in Derby again.

We visited this cosy little restaurant for the first time this week and can't believe it's been in Derby for 7 years and we've walked straight past it. The lady in the restaurant was friendly and as we were the only people in the restaurant for the first 1/2 hr she was telling us all about the history of the.restaurant and her family which we thought was lovely . We had a couple of beers and a bottle off red and white wine a mixed platter to share , a Massaman curry ,jasmine rice and a pad Thai and the bill came to around £70 which we thought was reasonable. The plates all came out hot which we do both prefer and the food was gorgeous. As it was a Friday night there were quite a few tables taken but we weren't made to feel rushed and sat in the restaurant chilling out with a glass of wine . We both thoroughly enjoyed the night and will be back x Thank you

I visited this restaurant for the first time this week. The food was tasty but I wouldn't say it was extra special. There was not a huge amount of meat in the curry either. It is a nice cosy setting though and the service was good. If you like Thai food and at in Derby then I recommend a visit.

We visited this little restaurant and what a little gem , the lady made us so welcome , the food was to die for , little tapas starters and all the main courses were freshly cooked and delicious , some yummy deserts for after too , well worth a visit

Despite a major overhaul on the menu, this place never fails to impress. Punchy bold flavours, healthy options and cheap in reality. Keep up the good work.

The food here is of a good quality. It's tasty and there is a lot of choice. The staff are friendly. The service was a bit slow but we were there on a busy Saturday. Small restaurant which is romantic but is slightly ruined but the fact that there isn't much privacy. Managed to fit us in last minute.

I should have read the reviews on this site before going to this restaurant - also should have recognised that on a Saturday evening the place was almost empty ( one table of 5 persons just leaving and then only three of us in).There was no authenticity to the place - only signal of being Thai was the music on a repeat reel.The food when it came was bland, watery and tasteless - the duck seemed like it had just come out of the freezer and hardly defrosted - tasted rubbery and nothing like Duck. Thankfully the portions were very small so this allowed us to eat up then settle the bill and get out quickly. Cost of £70 for about £5 worth of food - will never go to this restaurant again.After reviewing previous report on this site I expect to be told by the owners that this is all my fault - and the restaurant is perfect - but take it from me if it were perfect it would not be empty on a Saturday evening ??????

Having visited Thailand on many occasions our search for a restaurant that gets anywhere close to authentic Thai food in Derby continues. We ordered chicken satay which had very little flavour of peanut and the Sriracha wings which were ok, but didn't remind us of Thailand at all, more like frozen Chinese chicken wings from Sainsbury's. Then on to the mains. Red pork curry.. no discernible Thai flavours of kaffir lime (makrut) or Thai basil just a basic red curry sauce that I know I can get from the Chinese supermarket in town and then add my homegrown basil. We also tried the Panang curry and that tasted more Indian than Thai. Service was good but the atmosphere was stuffy and uncomfortable to say the least. I can understand how someone who has never been to Thailand would think the food was tasty. But it's not Thai and if you think you are getting food like this in Thailand... you're in for a shock!Sorry to say we won't be returning. We were hoping for so much better. Zaap in Nottingham is the only place in the area I have found that comes close to authentic food.

Overpriced, food was very bland. Can't even say it's average, tasted like everything was from a jar. Seafood was frozen and chewy, £31 for 4 jumbo king prawns...... Never again!!

Intimate little place but tastefully done. The food was very good, tofu was a bit disappointing but then it is tofu. Curries were lovely and good service. Will return.....

First visit to Finale Thai, and it won't be the last.We visited on Friday 10th March with a couple of Friends and we all cleared our plates which consisted of;Starters 1 x Prawn Spring Rolls which came with salad garnish and your standard nicely decorated Carrott. These were served very hot, crispy with a lemon type sauce dip.1 x Chicken Spring Rolls again hot, crispy with salad and a spicy chilli dip1 x Chicken Satay peanut sauce1 x Chicken Wings in spicy sauceMains2 x Weeping Tigers which were served on a sizzling plate, the beef was tender and very lean. I chose mine to be Hot, which wasn't that bad my friend went for VERY Hot.My wife chose Prawn Tom Yum soup for a main which came in a smallish bowel, she did have a side of spicy chips which was just as well. The soup was very nice and Spicy and the chips did what they said and we're very fluffy, we all dipped into them The other friend had a Chicken Thai Curry and again the plate was left spotless.The food was 9/10, decor 10/10, the atmosphere on the evening was quiet but we made up for it, the service from the owner was 10/10, a very nice lady.If you want to avoid the hustle and bustle of Thai Dusit give Finale Thai a visit you won't be disappointed

I visited with couple of friends and was very impressed. The food was wonderful: very meaty spare ribs followed by chicken masaman curry (mild but delicious) accompanied by coconut rice which was gorgeous. The whole evening was very relaxed, the service was pitched at exactly the right level, and the white/cream décor is lovely. Unfortunately we were the only customers in there on a Friday night, I hope this isn't the norm as I wouldn't want to see them close due to lack of customers.

We took two very good friends for the first time and were not disappointed. Everything was brilliant from the attentive staff to the beer and especially the food. We had the upstairs to ourselves. Would highly recommend. The price reflects the quality of the food.

The place itself is fairly small with only around 18 covers. There was only 2 tables in when we were there, given the size of the place and it being quiet the service wasn't the fastest. I found the menu a little long winded, with the same dishes on multiple times throughout just with different variations of meat/vegatable fillings. We ordered the hot and sour king prawn soup, at around £6 with only 2 prawns and a couple of mushrooms it was tasty but over priced. Same again with the spring rolls, tasty but only 3 small rolls at £5 seemed overpriced. Rest of the meal was tasty we went for the Thai curry. Overall the meal was tasty, could do with being better priced, or better portion sizes and probably best not to advertise as Thai tapas when it's just your typical Thai restaurant.

Decent food, big portions, wide range of set menus. the staff is really friendly and the place is not too busy. Not the best Thai I have tried but I would come back again

I have been to Finale many times over the last year and have enjoyed each visit. The lady who works there (the owner I think) is very friendly and welcoming, the restaurant is a nice place too. I am not the most adventurous of eaters so I can only really comment on the Thai red curry, which is great. The prices here are very reasonable and I will continue to visit regularly for my red curry :)

The restaurant itself is really sweet and the atmosphere was good.Unfortunately the food wasn't great. My chicken was obviously a frozen fillet and the portions were very small.Staff were lovely.

We had a meal at Finale this evening. The food was gorgeous. We hadn't booked beforehand but we're lucky enough to be seated in the upstairs dining area and had it all to ourselves so it felt like private dining. We had a sharing platter for a starter which was delicious and tasted so fresh. I had a seafood medley meal as a main which was full of squid, clams, mussels and prawns. It was delicious. My husband had weeping tiger with pad Thai which was a sizzling steak dish. It was gorgeous too. As mentioned in previous reviews - the portion sizes are not huge. That tends to be the trend with Thai food but the 2 mains were sufficient to fill us.The service was very good. We will certainly be back again but suspect that next time our children will force us to bring them too!!

Ate here tonight from the set menu, wasn't massively impressed by it. Starters were tasty enough, but the mains were disappointing. The red curry tasted like it was from a jar, and the portions were tiny. As a bigger eater this didn't suit me. The restaurant was very quiet which wasn't a problem in its self, but should have told us what we needed to know before we went in...

My husband and I recently visited Finale. Close to the town centre and tucked away but don't let this put you off.The food was very good. Excellent vegetarian choice served with quiet efficiency .I hope we will return very soon. Impressed!

Myself and my partner visited this restaurant early on a Saturday evening, we hadn't reserved so we were lucky to get a table as it is a small restaurant. At first we were going to opt for the early bird set menu which is very good value but the choice is slightly limited (as you would expect for less than £8.00 per person fro 2 courses) as the main menu offer lots of choice which all sounded delicious we choose from there. The food was lovely, the restaurant had a nice calming ambience and the staff were excellent.It was great to find a decent Thai restaurant in Derby as we love Thai food but have always struggled and ended up going out of town, will be recommending to friends and family

Quite a small restaurant which gives it a lovely atmosphere. The food is the best Thai I've ever had and the hostess is perfect. I recommend this place over and over. Most recent visit was for my birthday but have been several times before and will be again.

Finale Thai is in a class by itself. This was my second visit, a group of us had dined there about a year ago. The restaurant itself is very compact and quite relaxing. Soft music, polite attention and wonderful food. There were five of us and we ordered individually. Dishes ordered ranged from sea bass, and vegetarian chili,to lamb and pork. The presentation was nice and the flavors were all as good or better than expected. The chef here has a gift and an obvious love of good food. This is a great place for a memorable meal. Good for business but I'd like to bring my wife.

Friends took us to this bijou restaurant in the centre of Derby which we had no knowledge of. The venue is of a modest size, but tastefully laid out with an extensive main menu and early bird options as well. The food prepared from fresh ingredients was beautifully presented, which will obviously take a little time to arrive. We all had a variety of choices for starter, main and sweet and enjoyed all the meals in a leisurely and unrushed atmosphere. We will certainly visit again and can recommend this restaurant which certainly provided value for money.

Went for the early evening (pre 7pm) menu and had good two course, well priced menu. Delicious red vegetable curry then had coconut ice cream and sorbet on a hot day. Perfect. Went early so it was like private dining.

We have eaten at Finale 3 or 4 times. The food has always been lovely. The restaurant is small and relaxing and the service excellent. In addition, it is great for vegetarians and vegans. The menu categorises the options very effectively. I would recommend to anyone who loves authentic Thai food.

Visited Finale Thai with my boyfriend. Nice quiet Thursday evening. It was my partners first visit and first take on Thai food. He absolutely loved it. This place is just beautiful and very well managed by the owner who is also the waitress. She's very friendly and very welcoming. I don't blame her for defending her restaurant cause she produces nothing but gold. If you go during busy times understand that there will be wait and it's not something to under rate the restaurant for. I showed my friends pics of the lovely place and the food and they can't wait to come and visit. Will come here more often for our dates :). Good food, good portions too, good service and a lovely atmosphere, what else would you want :).Thank you xx

The food is really really good, the staff really friendly, there was quite a long wait to be served but the quality made up for it.The only going that wasn't good was the terrible canned musac which spoiled the ambiance a little, real thai music would be good maybe but not some generic thai covers of western songs, this isn't meant to be negative but constructive because this little gem is well worth a visit.

Came here with two friends and my husband. We both had a set menu between us which was for two but when it came we all thought there wasn't really a lot of food. It was almost like a taster menu. I don't eat a lot and even I thought there wasn't enough food. Food was really tasty but disappointing portions. My husband got a take away when we left!

Fascinating restaurant in tiny house, I love this place. Food cooked fresh from order and tastes amazing! Authentic Thai food and plenty to chose from. Great options too on early bird menu which is a cheaper option!

I went with my boyfriend and we had a lovely meal. The food is fantastic; I recommend the green curry! The waitress is kind and efficient

I LOVE THIS RESTAURANT.Great Customer Service. Beautiful Decor and EXCELLENT YUMMY FOOD! Since I have found it, I can't keep away, great for a Romantic evening out with your loved one and to have dinner with friends. Love It!

DO NOT be fooled by the reviews. This is not a vendetta. Worst public service our party have ever recieved in our lives!!! Appauling behaviour front the owner/waitress. Mediocre food. Bad behaviour spoiled friends birthday. Ended in tears. This owner is not a nice persons she'll never thank the good reviews on backlash on the negative

Before I begin my review I encourage any potential customers that are planning on dining at the establishment to read the managers responses to any reviews that are even slightly negative on trip advisor- it makes it abundantly clear how closed minded, rude and unwilling to accept any criticism (even when constructive) they are. If you don't like the food or service, don't bother trying to say anything! I choose to book a meal for my 28th Birthday at this restaurant as I always like to try new places. After walking past one day and thinking how it looked the type of small business that can be a rare gem (particularly as a lot of my friends own small businesses that thrive on word of mouth) and we are all fans of both Thai food and tapas I emailed to reserve a table on 26.2.16. On 5th March 2016 (my Birthday) we met next door for cocktails at 6.30pm before we arrived at Finale at 7.30pm (the time I had booked the table). As I walked in the door I explained to the lady that met us that I had reserved a table under my name for seven people but unfortunately one of my friends was unwell and could not make it. We were seated at a table that was cramped into a corner (particularly as the restaurant was empty apart from my friends and two tables on our arrival) but we were optimistic about the meal and good reviews we had read for this establishment. After twenty minutes we had all chosen what we wanted to eat/drink with still no sign of any waiting staff. After a further ten minutes one of my friends manged to get the attention of the sole waitress (who we found out later is also the owner). We asked if we could order and she asked where the 7th member of our party was and I explained again that she was unwell and would not be able to come for the meal. The waitress then took our orders. When our mains arrived one order was incorrect. My friend, who cannot eat prawns in a curry due to allergies, received a prawn based dish (the duo when she had ordered the trio). At this point the waitress began saying that my friend had ordered wrong, despite me and my five friends hearing what she had ordered. Not wanting any fuss we asked if the meal could be changed as my friend would be unable to eat this dish, the waitress reluctantly agreed (after causing a very awkward atmosphere) and said it would be ten minutes. The other people in my party had received their curries etc and had to wait for their rice, at which point my main was watery and luke warm at best. It wasn't until we had all finished our mains that my friend was brought the correct dish she had originally ordered. When the waitress came back, after a considerable period of time to collect our plates, she asked how our meals had been. My friend who had received the incorrect order organically said it was a shame that she had to wait so long that all her other friends had finished their meals before she received hers. At this point the waitress/owner became very rude and obnoxious, she said that the customer is not always right, and was so rude to me and my friends that other guests began looking over at our table. We asked to settle the bill because at this point we just wanted to leave and it was so obvious that this business owner had no idea what "customer service" meant. She was so disrespectful that I had to go out side to get some air as I felt bad about inviting some of my closest friends to this restaurant where they were verbally abused by a woman who was quite happy to take our money but was unfriendly (if not openly hostile) since the moment we walked in. In no way did we want any money back or a free meal, just a bit off courtesy or an apology for messing up our order (and my birthday meal) would have been nice. But that woman had no manners and when I returned from outside to collect my bag from the table she actually slammed the restaurant door in my face, shouting that we should go to an alternative Thai restaurant in the furure. From the moment we arrived the experience at this so called restaurant went from laughable, to awkward, to completely unacceptable, then horrific. And in response to the managers previous comments to reviews- how dare customers laugh and have a good time in her restaurant... what would she like??! It must have been a rarity to have people having a good time in there. It could have ruined my Birthday but we made the best of it and went out afterwards and had a good time.I STRONGLY RECOMMEND YOU AVOID THIS PLACE AS THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS APPALLING AND ABUSIVE!! AND THE FOOD DOES NOT MAKE UP FOR IT!

Delightful little place tucked away near the museum. A little off the beaten track, but well worth the visit. Very tasty Thai food, served in very nice surroundings by pleasent Thai lady who will stay and chat if you want when it is quiet, or just silently serve you if that's what you want.
