Ferrymans Delicatessen in Carmarthenshire

I've been cycling around England, Wales and Ireland this summer and this is the single best coffee I've had, by a long shot! Is that a pun ?

What a find. Only stopped for a quick coffee but took the opportunity to grab lunch whilst we were there and very glad we did. A quirky picturesque little place to sit and relax, friendly staff and outstanding food. The deli is obviously popular with locals and visitors alike. Well worth a visit.

We visited the place the easte bank holiday, we had some sandwitches and drinks. The sandwitches were really tasty and the ingredients used for them very special.

This place is an absolute gem just out of the centre of Laugharne. Compact, small business, family run, it is a wonderful fusion of local Welsh produce and perhaps surprising but beautifully provided Spanish cuisine. The only way to describe it for me is proper home cooked food ( I had the meatballs) that I would happily order and enjoy in a top end restaurant. There was eight of us and we almost filled the place but not one person was disappointed with their meal. Point to note here, a number of our group are vegetarian, and they were very happy with their options. Give it a go if you are in town. The lovely people who run it deserve all the success they achieve.

Great little find. Small deli and cafe selling products and food with a Spanish slant. Had really fresh baguette filled with chorizo, cheese and peppers; my wife having the lentil soup with toasted bread. Coffees really good also. Despite the posting of a previous reviewer, we were welcomed and had a good conversation about the ways of the world at the moment. Highly recommended. These small businesses should be supported.

Sells a lovely unusual interesting mix of delicatessen supplies. Also has high quality very tasty fruit and vegetables, as well as a nice selection of cheeses. We'll worth a visit!

Probably the best place in Laugharne to go for a coffee - and cake. And a chat! I was particularly grateful that owner's mother gave me a lift to nearby campsite. Absolutely recommended!

Take a tip and venture past Brown's hotel to this cafe cum deli. The shop has a good selection of wines, beers, cheeses etc. There is a good selection of food to eat in or take out, and the cakes and coffee are always excellent. When the weather is kind, eat outside to savour the unique Laugharne calm.

Perhaps the most at home and welcome I have felt in any cafe / restaurant. The food was delicious, the stock of the deli was perfect, the beers were exciting and tasty, and Tom and all the rest of the staff were so friendly, which seemed to be a trend with the people of laugharne! I would’ve gladly come in every day if I could have, and I will definitely return in the future. Thanks everyone!

Lovely friendly cafe with great cake and a large tea selection.

Coffee and cake fine ,only to be spoiled by the lack of welcome. We actually felt like we were intruding in someones "private" space. Both male and female "owners"?were as miserable and dismissive as each other. We spoke to other visitors to the "cafe" later that day whilst walking who also felt the same. Last time we were there we were greeted by a different and very friendly lady. We definately wont be returning, we were actually glad to leave.

Found this wonderful delicatessen/cafe yesterday on our travels. The food, latte and chocolate cake were just amazing! Very reasonably priced as well. Definitely worth a stop in Laugharne, Wales xxx

This was just incredible!! Amazing home cooked food we had the chorizo amd chick pea stew with olive vread toasted sith garlic mayo [so beauitful and homemade] eith a side of olives. Most amazing herbal teas and friendly staff ❤️😍♥️

A lovely independent deli-restaurant selling Welsh and Spanish specialities. Very friendly staff, interesting interior and fantastic chorizo and goat cheese flatbread. Will definitely return!

What a great place. We went here for lunch today on spec. It's a lovely delicatessen and cafe with really good quality food. We had baguettes with sides of coleslaw which were all absolutely delicious and the coffee really great. Ginger cake after was top notch too. Delightful people too. Wouldn't hesitate to return

We called in for a quick look around and ended up staying for some brunch. My Partner had the HLT, which was impressive and I had the Serrano ham and manchego flatbread. All cooked fresh and very generous servings with superb sides. And quality coffee on top was a bonus. Highly recommended.

Very quiet, but ginger cake to die for.

Just popped in for a coffee and tea and was hugely impressed, lovely guy and produce, told me about the local honey we bought which was a lovely addition - highly recommend!

A pleasant place with home made cakes and friendly proprietors. Deserves more footfall, suffers from not being near to the main car park. Bought some lovely local cider there.

Great little deli / cafe. Owner was brilliant offering sound, unpretentious advice and not pushing for sales. Generous portion sizes. We had tomato and red pepper soup with fresh bread and a decent portion of local cheese. Our for a walk then back for homemade cake and coffee together with a few deli bits for the evening. Definitely worth a visit.

We visited Ferrymans on our return from Narberth, and had such a warm welcome from the team. They were so accommodating to my partner being Vegan and the food was delicious. We can't wait to return to Laugharne and we will definitely be popping in to Ferrymans.

We visited from London for the weekend and had the very good fortune of dropping in on this delightful place for lunch. The staff are super friendly and the food is excellent. I can’t recommend this place highly enough

We stopped for breakfast on a road trip around South Wales. The chef made us a feast of a vegi breakfast that wasn’t on the menu. It was delicious and the service was great. Lots of other food bits, fresh cakes and bread to buy in this lovey family run deli.

Great coffee and homemade cakes. Stopped off for a light lunch and it was very good. The only minor point is no dogs allowed inside, outside is fine but you can't always trust the welsh weather.

Very friendly family run business with a good selection of fresh fruit and veg eith homemade chocolate brownies. Lots of different cheese and meats to choose from and Tapas, coffee and lovely brunch meals served inside and options to sit outside.

I'm just stopping by to say to the lovely lady who bakes the muffins that the gluten free banana, peanutbutter and white chocolate muffin WAS really good and I'm sorry I couldn't review it when I was there. Also the BLT was insane. You guys really have the whole 'wholesome food' nailed to a T. Thank you, hannah and Rory x

Lovely café! Good range of food (in recommend the flatbread), friendly staff, great hygiene/safety measures, and the most thoroughly explained drinks selection (definitely try the cola!). Pick up some treats on your way out as they do lots of fun sauces and preserves in the shop too.

Every once in s while you come across somewhere that is just right and The Ferryman's Deli in Laugharne is it. Anywhere that stocks local organic halloumi on their cheese counter obviously knows their stuff and everywhere in the deli are excellent locally sourced products. What really makes The Ferryman's stand out is the food it serves. We ate on a Friday evening when alcohol can be served up to 10pm, (prior to the latest lockdown restrictions). There is a very good selection of tapas available to eat in or as a takeaway and the prices are very reasonable, especially given the quality of the food. There are just 2 tables of a maximum 4 people each within the main room, so good social distancing. Top quality food, excellent staff, good atmosphere, great value for money, a special place.

I cannot tell you how wonderful this gem of a delicatessen is! With Spanish theme, ran but a great local family, headed by Tom, just go there and try anything off the menu, and then check out the products on the shelves to take away. Felt so at home, would travel the 300 miles again just to go there!

We discovered this gem when on holiday in the area. First we stopped in at the deli but decided to have Friday night dinner here, as it was a tapas evening. Blimey! What a fantastic spread of tapas, compliments to the chef. And the server was fantastic, super friendly. Highly recommended!!

What an amazing little cafe. The food is exceptional and you will get a very warm welcome. We had a lovely chilli, a curry and a delicious stew. All three were absolutely delicious. Great value too.

Food was nice but waited a long time to see it. Waitress was lovely, smiley and attentive. My biggest gripe was the owner, he was rude to his staff and could be heard loudly swearing from the kitchen. We won't be back.

We stumbled across this place by parking further out of the village centre and we are very glad we did. Lovely owners, very relaxed and passionate about their produce. Tom the owner clearly enjoys loves his job and his food is a labour of love. We only came in for coffe and came back after a castle visit for late lunch, three soups where on the menu and which were all simply delicious and well presented, my wife went for a ratatouille and couscous which was stunning. His mother made a delicious ginger and coffee cake. Brilliant little find, thanks for the amazing food.

Very rude and unwelcoming. Went to call in today. The door was open and a gent was sat at a table having a beer while a lady was behind the counter. He told me “we’re closed for 15 minutes.” This was at 2 pm. Won’t be returning.

Lots of lovely food in here to include cheeses breads olives and meats. Some Spanish influences as well in food and wine. The coffee is gorgeous they sell the beans they use. Staff helpful and nice. There is a small coffee/tea cafe in there as well. Well worth a visit!

We were looking forward to trying this deli out but were very disappointed. We bought a couple of local cheeses but when we opened them it was clear they had seen better days they were dry and crusty. We also bought a jar of olives which tasted very odd so we checked the sell by date and found they were 3 months out of date. We took them back and were told by the owner that they would still sell them and we were dismissed with a flick of the hand. The customer service was appalling. Would not revisit.
