I'd not been to Feast & Mishti since the pandemic, so was pleased to find that it hadn't changed much (although the price of the buffet had risen quite a bit). It still offer very good value, and as a non-meat eater there were plenty of different veggie curries (and fried fish) to select from. Staff are very good about replenishing the buffet; the trays are all quite small so that food is fresh compared to many buffets. There's a good range of cold starter dishes, as well as veggie bhajis and samosas; hot dishes include a wide range of curries as well as one of plain steamed veg; there's steamed rice, meat-free biryiani, naan (and they'll bring out fresh if that on the buffet has dried up), and a small selection of dessert dishes (including cold rice pudding and orange segments). The buffet price includes either a bottle of water or a soft drink (I was foolish enough to have a can of strawberry Mirinda, which wasn't very wise!) They don't have a huge number of tables, but have plenty of small ones so it's good for solo diners. Recommended.

Overpriced. Very poor service and food. We went as a big family for a birthday party and they kindly allocated us a group area - that was the only good thing. Food was 2 star - some dishes good some not . Starters were suitable for children as there was a variety. There was a biryani which was okay- after we had all finished eating they put eggs in the biryani which made no sense. The worst was the customer service, the waiter was constantly around disturbing us, especially around the food area. We felt he was watching us like a hawk for the amount of food we were eating. This was a buffet - the aim was to eat as much or as little as we wished- we don’t need a waiter hovering around. The waiter accused us that a member of our party had left after eating and that was not the case. A member had gone to pray and came back. The waiter also went around wanting to know the number of adults and children - then went around counting for himself. The poor attitude from the waiter made us feel like he was doubting us - like we would run off without paying. Honestly £16 a head was so expensive for such poor quality food. Really regret not going to a Turkish or something which would have most probably been cheaper and tastier. Do not go there.

I have visited before, but during covid. This visit was much nicer with a good variety of tasty food at a very fair price. The buffet was clean, well stocked, and topped up regularly. Enjoyed my visit and will return. This is not a fancy restaurant but a great casual eating place frequented by all. Recommended.

There’s always good side and bad side. Unfortunately some food was very bland specially their Kacchi Biryani (do not waste your money). Sadly 2 waiters were very rude but rest of them were very polite and attentive. Buffet priced at £15.99 per adult and £7.99 for under 7. Menu prices are too expensive, hence either eat buffet or else eat elsewhere to save your self from excessive expenses for no reason as there are so many other options available on the same street.

All food tastes old. As if it was reheated over and over again. Jalebi was fried in old oil (instant headache). Samosas were fried in old oil (instant headache). Waiters were just staring at us waiting for us to leave so they can clear the table. Fish - cooked from frozen. Tastes rubbery. Bortha - too spicy and tasteless. Shutki bortha was old. Food was very cold, not even lukewarm and charged a lot more than other (better also) restuarants. Owner/manager didn't receive criticism well - just negated and denied every complaint.

The staff customer service is very poor, charging whatever they feel like when asked. For example a few cups of tea , juice and x 2 mishti and kulfi came to 29 pounds. When asked why so expensive, I was told that the cost of 1 kulfi is 2.50 but if eating in it's double so 5 so we paid 10 pounds for just 2 skinny kulfi's ....when I questioned this and compared to a reputable chain such as Pret who charge 50p to eat in I was rudely asked 'Don't we eat out often ? implying we do not know anything' This was very insulting. To top things off they refused to offer any solution to us the customers even when we explained this was very unfair to their customers as no where was it written they would double the charge of an item (100%) if we eat in. It is the principle and I feel Trading Standards Authority need to be alerted on this outrageous practice.

Came here on a Sunday evening pre booked as a party of 12. There was clearly a big function on as the place was packed! It’s a small place at the front and opens up once inside to around 50 covers with the buffet selection in the middle. It’s £14.99 each for the buffet which is outstanding value. It won’t be for everyone but for the 12 of us big eaters it was perfect. Many of the party are Bengali which helped but the food is all self explanatory including chicken and lamb. Desserts as well. Super cheap drinks. It’s a bit rough and ready but the service very attentive and friendly. Nothing really bad to say and outstanding value for someone now so full!

We booked as a group for a work dinner event and found the waiters to be helpful, friendly and attentive. There was a large selection of food at the buffet and I found the masala tea to be just right for me creamy and well spiced. The food was great for those who like spicy food and there was attention to detail with herbs and spices. Thank you to the waiter who kindly took our group photo outside. We did have a good time. I would recommend this restaurant and would go back again.

Have visited this place when it used to be less busy. Usually, opt for the buffet deal. Today, however, decided to order from the main menu. Meat Buna and Chicken Jall Faizi. The staff was great. The food was mediocre. Having owned a family restaurant am familiar with the cuisine. The manager asked how my food was and I was honest. 'greasy, and half meat and bones' and his explanation was that this is the standard at his restaurant. Was not even offered reduction in the bill. How things change when you are making good money. This place used to be very quiet and recommended many in the past. Never again.

I have been in this restaurant for breakfast. We ordered 4 parata, 1 dhal baji, and 1 chicken curry, little bottle of water and 1 orange juice. We are very disappointed on how much they have charged. Chicken curry (only 3 small pieces of chicken) they have charged me £9. One glass of orange juice they have charged me £4. In total it came a bill of £28. There was no Menu where we could have checked the price. This is very unfair how they have charged on a small portion of chicken. Will never go there again!

6 of us mates pre-booked a table for iftaar, food was average with plenty of choice. However they put us on a table/seating fit for 4, all of us squashed our buttocks tight like in a can of sardines! The most disappointed part was, although we booked for 6 & one of our mates couldn’t attend, they forced us to pay for the non attendee too! £15 per head, so we ended up £90 including our invisible Casper friend! Rip off & blatant daylight robbery! Hope you become richer by thieving off from us!

Went here at three in the afternoon expecting a tired after-lunch experience but I couldn’t have been more wrong. This place was impeccable. All the food on offer was so tempting, hot and fresh. Standout dishes were the lamb ribs on the bone, the fish bortha and the biryani. Restaurant must be the best kept in Whitechapel. So clean, such nice staff and at the heart of it all beautiful food prepared and served with care. I’ll be back as soon as possible.

MORE AT TripAdvisor

Dear owner/manager We went to have breakfast to your restaurant on Friday the 20th of Aug at 11:00. We had very bad experience in your restaurant as staff were very reluctant to serve and finally the price was too high which is totally unacceptable. We had the following items - 5 parathas 1 naan 2 bowls of vegetable 2 piece rasogolla 1 piece kalojam 2 piece sponge misthi 2 small cup of teas 1 litre bottle water We got charged £2.00 for a rasogolla when box of 6 cost £3.00. A piece of kalojam can £2.00 ? Is it for real. My mistake was not asking the price of everything as I have been dining and buying things from Whitechapel area from long time time and know the average price of these stuffs. Hence I did not asked the price except paratha . Paratha costed us £1.50 each and the less oily one costed me £2.00. I don’t get it why it would £2.00 for the less oily one. How ridicules pricing it is ? A small cup of tea should not be priced £2.00 as you are not a fine dining restaurant. Even the branded coffee shop won’t charge that much for a cup of tea. When we go to dine such a place like yours should cost more than £1.00 for small cup of tea it’s simply call rip off . When we go to this kind of restaurant we don’t expect that you will charge £3.00 for one litre of water bottle. A small bowl of veg plus lentil curry was £4.99. Do you think it’s fair pricing? You should have some business ethics and fair trade policies otherwise I can bet, you will started to lose the business soon and eventually will get burst one day . I am not moaning because of the money but for dishonesty, I can afford to pay £40.00 for breakfast but you should not rip customers off by unreal pricing of your goods. If you think losing one or two customers will not affect your business than you are wrong, as I am going to tell everyone I know about your restaurant and your service. Even 10 people out of 100 stop coming to your restaurant that will start to make difference in your business in long term. I hope you will realise that making money is not only the ambition of a business.
