Favourite Thai in East Staffordshire

Family celebration, we ordered our drinks and meals, the starter came and it was enjoyable, we then waited for our mains, we waited and we waited!!! I asked a waitress if we could have some prawn crackers while we waited, they never did arrive. The table next to us came in after we had eaten out starters, they ordered food and there starters came out, they were then asked did they want the main meal or did they want to wait a bit, we were still waiting for food, and as we have a diabetic in the family this is not great, still no prawn crackers either. We continued to wait patiently, but it was getting ridiculous, so we got up and left. We won’t be returning, we will go to the Baan Thai which we usually do.

As our previous favourite Thai restaurant in Derby had closed we had tried a couple of others in Derby but were not impressed enough to return. As our first ever Thai Food was in Burton on Trent 40 years ago I did a Google search for the area and found two, one was closed for a holiday so as we knew the Town Center we tried the Favourite Thai. On entry we were initially the only customers early on a Thursday Evening. We were shown to a lovely window table by a staff member. My wife and I selected starters we knew plus two mains with noodles and rice. Lovely meal and great service we will definitely visit again. We recorded the meals by number so we can try some different mains next time. The premises reflect the Thai Theme with a nice layout inside the premise, although it was not busy the ambiance was lovely as were the staff.

I have been unsure whether to post this review because it was a personal experience and not the quality of the food as such. We were a large table of 14 adults and had chosen our starters and mains. I chose the the tofu starter followed by a mock duck dish. Starter was lovely and tasty. When the mains came out I was given my dish with the server telling me it was mock duck. Everyone else was receiving their meals and we all started eating. After approximately maybe 20 minutes the waitress came over and said she was sorry but I had been given the real duck and NOT the mock duck! I have not eaten meat for over 33 years, since I was 13, so this was extremely upsetting and shocking to me. I had eaten over half of this meal!! They were very apologetic but this should never have happened, or even been possible to happen in the first place! As I said I haven’t eaten meat in so long I had no real recollection of the taste or texture (I ate very little meat before giving it up for vegetarianism) so I assumed I was eating a plant based mock duck meal. I have to admit I was not keen on what I was eating but did not for a second think I had been given a meat meal, I just thought it wasn’t something I’d not have again. This was genuinely really upsetting and I’m still shocked at how it could even happen. I was not told if it was a chef error or server error but I sincerely hope it wasn’t a kitchen error as I would hope they strongly follow allergy processes within the kitchen which would mean separate utensils, pans and preparation areas as well as colour coded handles etc A very small but easy thing to do would be to serve all vegetarian/vegan dishes on different shaped plates as I’ve seen in other restaurants. For example, if all meals are served on round white plates it would be an option to serve vegetarian dishes on square white plates to avoid confusion from the kitchen to serving staff

Went with 3 other friends for a double birthday celebration and can't WAIT to go back again! We all had different meals and all four were excellent!! At first, when you start to taste your food, you think "Ooo, this is spicy, right on the limit", but after a while, you realise that once you swallow, the heat becomes less and the full flavours of your food just explode.....Honestly!! All four of us have eaten out many times, but this place is the best by a country mile!! OK, the décor might need updating slightly, but the prices are reasonable, the staff are knowledgeable and attentive, and the food is out of this world. You will not be disappointed........

Loved this place for years, nice & spicy, love the Tom yum soup, all the curries, spicy (think Singapore) rice, som tam salad is gorgeous! some nice wines. Go for all my special treats.

We dine at this restaurant one a month on average. Every time we go we always worry that the food might not be as good as the last time. But we have never been disappointed. The food is excellent, the staff always greeting you with a smile and provide excellent service. They can't do enough for you there. We came yesterday with friends and 5* visit yet again. Thank you to our favourite restaurant

We went on a Wednesday night early, we were the only people in there. The service was none existent, the food was average, portions were small and its not cheap. This used to be a good restaurant but the two servers were clearly far too busy chatting hidden in the back corner to care about customers. We will not be back.

Called in on the off chance seated quickly and politely. Food was excellent apart from the sizzling beef x2 which was so hard it was like the soles of a shoe, did mention this to the server but no offer of replacement, so in hindsight order anything but not beef and you will be grand.

We were pleasantly surprised! Despite the surrounding area, and dated decor, the staff were nice. The food was tasty and satisfying. We had tempura prawns with sweet chilli sauce to start which was very nice, and then a Pad Gra Prow for main. I’ve had better as usually the sauce is thicker, darker and sweeter, but the spice levels of everything was brilliant. The best dish we had was the chilli beef rice as it was so tasty! Excellent value for money. 4 stars

I have been here so many times but tonight was so busy in the restaurant. I am so happy to see local family-run restaurant doing really well. The food is very tasty as always, the service was great. Highly recommend Thai beer with Thai food. Looking forward to see you all again very soon. Keep up the good work!

We were here on last Saturday evening. It was really busy in the restaurant and did not expecting a good service here but it is 5 stars. There are only 3 people running about on the floor to service all the customer and very impressive. The food was very tasty and fresh. The portion was very big compare to restaurant in the area. Singha beer is best combination with Thai food. The atmosphere was fantastic, the Thai music was not too loud. We sat by the window and quite away from other people. I would highly recommend for a visit if you love authentic Thai food. Chicken satay and salted and pepper squid are the best for us as starter. Green curry and steam seabass were also good choice. Keep the good work my Favourite Thai Restaurant.

Firstly we have been regular patrons of Favourite Thai since it opened. Under the previous owner who retired a couple of years ago it was truly excellent in all respects and I considered it my favourite restaurant in the UK. We have celebrated numerous birthdays, Valentines and anniversaries there. When the owner retired a manager was appointed and initially it was much the same. Don’t know who owns or runs it now but having not visited for some months last nights experience was truly shocking. First the famous Favourite Thai sharing starter. Gone was the fabulous Thai crab cake and carrot salad to be replaced with a range of fried items all in the same shade of beige and including that most traditional Thai item - a battered onion ring. There were also two small spare ribs in hoisin sauce so not exactly Thai. Next our favourite: sea bass with mango, chillies and Thai basil. Normally this is sea bass in a light tempura butter with a salad of sour mango, cherry tomatoes and onions, chillies, coriander and basil with a lime based dressing which cuts the batter. This was two pieces of cod which appeared and tasted like they had come from the local chippy with mango on top but no tomatoes, virtually no onion, no discernible chilli or basil and two coriander leaves. The taste was overwhelmingly of cooking oil and the mouth feel was vile. The fish would have been ok with a side order of chips and mushy peas but was about as Thai- m tasting as my husband’s socks. The Pad mee noodles are normally full of spring onions and bean sprouts and dressed with fried chopped garlic. There was no garlic and virtually no vegetables. Just a dollop of very greasy noodles that -what I ate - sat on my stomach like lead. The real shocker though was the service. We were offered one drink at the beginning and nothing else throughout the meal. Service used to be superb with complimentary water and prawn crackers on every table. After finishing as best we could the disappointing mains we sat back and waited for the dessert menu. Puds here used to be lovely and frankly I needed something to take away the taste of cooking oil. The lady who seemed to be in charge came over took the plates and said - with no word of apology - “do you want anything else because I need this table?” Our answer was “no. We will have the bill please”. This was £60. For the first time in my life I didn’t leave a tip but I will leave you one: avoid, avoid, avoid.

The restaurant is very dated and in need of repair inside and out. It has a very rotten odour inside. The food is very average and quite expensive. Drinks are also expensive. The owner and staff are very rude and really should be more careful what they say about customers as their slanderous comments could land them all in court!

I had a takeaway from there, one of the dishes I ordered was Stir fried noodles with beansprouts and spring onions. It was tasty though very greasy, however, there was hardly any beansprouts or spring onions in it. Delivery was very quick.

Here with family on Saturday night. Great, friendly service from the moment we walked in until we had settled the bill and left. Superb food for every course and good value for money. Will definitely be back again

I had heard very good reviews and was looking forward to my first meal from Favourite Thai, The food was delivered by Just Eat and arrived quickly and was hot.The mains though were very greasy, poorly prepared and bland. The onions and chicken were in huge chunks, had the mushrooms and flavourings been forgotten? One meal was sufficient for 2 people, whereas the other was tiny.An expensive experience not to be repeated.

Excellent food and service. Would definitely recommend. Squid was to die for. Authentic Thai cuisine

Ordered online tonight for my wife’s Birthday. Ordered the meal for two. Wow. Turned up bang on time and food was red hot. Amazing choice of food , so tasty .Faultless. Even got a special extra dessert for the wife’s birthday as a bonus. Well done Favourite Thai. Beautiful

Ordered for my boyfriends birthday, both really looking forward to the meal as we've eaten here before for our birthdays (couple of years ago) and thought the taste and quality was very enjoyable and good value. The recent order was a totally different experience!First I'll start with what we did enjoy about the meal, the Thai jasmine rice was nice, the ped pad khing was tasty and the thai dry aromatic chicken curry was tasty but was described to have a thick sauce which it really didn't... It tasted very much like a red Thai curry but I like that so can't complain too much I guess!The other items were really not great. I'll start with the tempura battered vegetables. We've had these else where and they were amazing - they're supposed to be light and crispy but here at 'My Favourite Thai' they just batter them as a chippy would a sausage. Thick, hard, crunchie batter which is lacking in flavour and over powers whichever vegetable is in there.... Most veggies are unidentifiable due to the thick coating. Not nice.Next, the Kanoom Jeep (prawn and minced pork dumplings) now this was a big dissapointment for me. I expected to see some morcel of a prawn in them, or something that resembled minced pork. Nope. It tasted like the worst, processed sausage... It was spongey, thick and just wrong. I paid over £5 for 4 of these disgusting things. They went to our dogs.We also ordered tempura prawns - we love tempura as you can tell! What did My favourite Thai serve us?? Breaded prawns... With 2 onion rings that had never seen an onion in their lives. Oh so bad.Lastly, pad kee Mao gai (rice noodles stir fried with egg and chicken) - congealed, sloppy, the rice noodles were like over cooked pasta. They were spicy just as they described but they had no other flavour. Me and my partner left pretty much all of those. They were not appetising in the slightest. I couldn't stand the texture!I'm sorry but we will not be returning! I felt like we didn't get what we were offered and the value for money is just NOT there.

I had two duck dishes, noodle and a soup. 56. PED MA KHAM (Duck with Tamarind Sauce was my favourite and I would order this again. Also had Roast aromatic duck. This was duck meat only and no crispy skin which is the part I like best.Staff were polite and friendly. Suggest instead of email confirmation when your order is ready for pick up a text message would be better.

Food generally not up to standard of previous owner ship. Had the crispy duck in plum sauce - used to be succulent and@ rich. Last nights was fried to a cinder and dry. Would have returned it but a cold wet night too much to face. Partners dish OK. A pity as this used to be our favourite restaurant in Burton

Four of us ate here on Saturday evening and we had a lovely time. The service was excellent and the food was perfect. We all had a variety of dishes and they were all excellent. COVID safety measures were all in place and we all felt very safe.Thank you!

Beautiful food and great service Here as a party of 8 and received wonderful service throughout the meal. The food was stunning with every member of the group really enjoying the starters and main courses. Set meal B was an absolute delight

Do not pass this restaurant, it has an absolutely fabulous menu and all authentic food. Smiling service. Four had two completely different nights meals. Night one was individual choices, night two was a collection of starters for each to pick through. Over both nights I consumed more squid than in a lifetime, brilliantly prepared. Very high on my list for the future.

Our first time at this restaurant and will definitely not be our last. The mixed starters were very tasty especially the ribs. We had a selection of mains to share all were hot and cooked perfectly. Service friendly and quick. Can’t wait to return!

First time back since pre lockdown. So missed this place. Booked a meal for myself, husband and daughter. Had our temperature taken on arrival and hand sanitizers by the door. One way system in place and tables well spread out. Felt totally safe, food and service excellent.

We were so happy with the food and service which is outstanding even they were really busy on tuesday. It was our first time for Thai food but i think i will be a regular customer now. The staff is very friendly and helpful as they help us to choose the food. We love Thai beer, Singha beer. You have to try it yourself and i can confirm that you wont disappoint it.

We went last night and really wished we hadn’t. It was in utter chaos. The staff were looking at each other in confusion and seemed to be spinning around on the spot not really knowing what to do next. It was massively overbooked meaning that everyone had to wait in excess of half hour to be seated which lead to standing in the restaurant, inside the lobby and queuing outside. Social distancing was blatantly ignored not just by staff but also by patrons. I didn’t feel this place was overly clean or safe. Yes as other reviews mentioned someone was very ill outside the toilets/restaurant and bar. It was cleaned but I don’t think properly as the smell lingered well after the event. Feel so sorry not just for the person taken ill but those who had to witness and sit nearby. The food was very good but it was marred by such an unpleasant experience. I would never go back. The manager of this restaurant should be ashamed of themselves.

I am still in shock following the meal we had at The Favourite Thai this evening. For starters, the restaurant was incredibly busy with queues out of the door - usually this is a good sign when visiting a restaurant however this evening it meant that service was incredibly poor and we felt a very cold draught as we were seated in front of the door which despite asking numerous times was never closed. The food was fine when served however after we had just finished the last mouthful of our meals, we witnessed a fellow patron projectile vomit multiple times just in front of the kitchen doors as he was en route to the toilet. Rather than stopping service to throughly clean, waiting staff simply walked over the many piles of vomit to continue to serve food to customers. We were celebrating my husband's birthday this evening and I can honestly say this was the worst meal we have ever sat through. Whilst getting some fresh air after witnessing the vomiting, I strongly advised the queuing customers to go else where. I would rate the experience of this restaurant 0/5 if the app would allow.

I used to love this place. The only reason I haven’t been so much is because my partner isn’t keen on Thai food. I did not realise there was a changing of the guard here. What happened next did not help this cause! We had a table booked for 4 people. Got there for 7, everyone was queuing outside (bearing in mind this is mid Storm Francis) to get in, and we finally got told to come back in half an hour. We then went back in half an hour, queuing yet again outside. Four very rude people then pushed straight through to the front and inside and the staff tended to them straight away instead of telling them to go and queue like everyone else (we were booked in before them). Then, whilst queuing outside, someone vomited on the floor near the kitchen door end. The staff were still walking through that area whilst serving the tables instead of just all getting it cleaned up. People then started to walk out which is about when we then left to go eat elsewhere. Hopefully some of the other 20 or so people queuing outside did as well. Absolute chaos, totally overbooked, with no control over the situation.

We were visiting the local area and decided to try this restaurant. It was easy to book a table for 2 at short notice. When we arrived our temperature was taken before we were shown to our seats. All staff were wearing face masks. We opted for tamarind duck, beef in red wine and egg fried rice. Food was quick to arrive, as were our drinks. Portion sizes were generous. The bill came to £33 with 2 alcoholic drinks. We weren't asked to do track and trace, but can only assume they took our number down when we called to reserve a table.

I chose a takeaway from Favourite Thai as my 50th birthday meal as we love the food so much. We both said it was the best takeaway we have ever had. The online ordering and payment system is so easy and efficient. The restaurant then confirms receipt online, showing the time it will be delivered. The delivery was perfect. The driver was so polite and lovely. Cannot fault the food. Ate it so quickly didn't have time to take photographs. We had thai and prawn crackers, chicken satay and vegetable parcels, then jungle curry, tofu and ginger with vegetables and fried rice. Absolutely beautiful and now we know we can have takeaways will definitely be back. Thank you so much and hope you and your families are all safe and well.

Over last four visits to collect family takeaway we have almost always had a miscalculation with pricing but a few pounds only and quickly corrected when we pointed it out. Error always higher!This time collecting a big order for 5 of mains and starters my wife went in as I parked nearby.she left reading glasses in car and lady showed bill in Thai.request was for almost 87£ then when queried quickly revised down to 79£ which my wife knew was still wrong as I had calculated cost earlier.eventually I went in and after checking by line we paid correct amount of £66! The odd rounding up or down small error is one thing but this is taking the ......Seems almost as if it happens on a regular basis.Anyway food is ok but not exceptional and there are other good alternatives for Thai in Burton.We will not be rushing back any time soon.

Great food, which is what we have come to expect.We had a set menu for 4, with every dish being great.We had made a reservation for 8pm and it was was quite disappointing that we were taken upstairs and were the only group of people sat there.Lovely food, but not the best atmosphere as we were on our own

Best Thai I’ve had in a very long time!There were 5 of us for my fiancé’s birthday meal and it certainly didn’t disappoint!We had the mixed starter for 5 to begin with (this is a must if you wish to try a bit of everything).For mains I had the roast Duck pae-nang with sticky rice, my fiancé had Chicken Thai Green curry and the others had crispy duck with egg fried rice, fish Thai yellow curry with sticky rice and the special curry, which for the life of me, I can’t remember what it was called.All of it was fresh, fragrant and extremely flavoursome and one of the more authentic Thai meals I’ve had in the UK.I also mentioned when booking the table, that it was for a birthday and they put banners up and a few balloons. At the end they all sang happy Birthday and gave us a complimentary pudding, which was a nice touch.Service was exemplary and they couldn’t do enough for us, which makes the whole dining experience, that bit more pleasant!We’ll most certainly be going back!5*

This place has exceptional Thai food. If you are in the Burton/Derby/Lichfield area - visit here. We have eaten here for last two years and always very good, Recently taken over and tonight's meal was stand out good. Bravo

First time for a few months and the restaurant has had a face lift since our last visit. Feels more welcoming and cosy. Food was amazing and reasonably priced. This is our new go to Thai.

Was impressed with the Trip reviews and decided to give it a try as my mate now prefers his Thais to his Indians ! We were not disappointed. Right in the heart of the town centre with parking virtually outside. We just had a Massaman and Green Thai curry with plain and egg fried rice. The portions were generous and the taste was superb. Couple of Thai waitresses were spot on with the service. All in all it deserves its high ranking on Trip Advisor.

First time here and we will definitely be returning. We tried the set menu and the food was amazing fabulous, friendly and helpful staff. Couldn’t do enough for us. The food was so tasty, aromatic and beautiful.

Had a meal here for partner's birthday tonight. Staff made us feel very welcome (like part of the family) The food was excellant and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. We had prawn crackers, Thai spicy salad, chicken satay and for mains, a jungle curry and a mushroom and cashew nut dish in spicy sauce, with rice. I said that it was my partner's birthday and arrived to find balloons and a banner. The desert also came with a candle! :) We understand that the restaurant is under new ownership and would thoroughly recommend. Thank you for a lovely evening and we will see you soon.

We have been coming to the Favourite ever since it opened. We are very sad to see Charait leaving and moving on. I have lost count how many times we have eaten here: as a family of 4 or just the two of us. We have never had any cause to complain - the food has always been very good to superb and the service fantastic. We wish you and your family all the best.We hope KP can keep up the good work!

We were staying in Burton on Trent supporting our football team. We did not book at this restaurant, but wandered in. We were made extremely welcome, with a table found for us straight away. Staff were all friendly, helpful & attentive. The food was absolutely delicious! Everything so fresh & cooked to perfection. We could not fault anything & would eat here every week if we lived in the area. Thoroughly recommend. Best Thai experience ever. Thank you.

Let me be honest - i wasn't expecting such an amazing meal. As a business traveller staying in the town overnight, i often choose to eat Thai so i've eaten at a fair few around the country but none have ever come close to the quality of this restaurant.From the moment i walked in, i was made to feel welcome.

We visited on 27th July and were seated upstairs. This was our second visit I would have preferred to have been informed that the table was upstairs when booking as I have a mobility issue which made this not ideal.

Have eaten here many times. The food is always superb and the service is always unbeatable. The staff are all so helpful and friendly. On the day of my last visit I lost an item of jewellery and to my surprise they called me to tell me they had found it.

A really nice Thai restaurant in the market place serving piping hot food that was really tasty. We had one of the set menus, with mixed starters of chicken satay, fish cakes, prawn toast and duck rolls plus salad followed by a good choice of main courses. We had Green Thai curry and a chicken chili stir fry. Service was via, I assume, the owner who was polite, enthusiastic and energetic. He was also efficient but watch out for the marshmallows!

Loved it. The service was fab and the staff were so friendly. Would highly recommend. Hopefully going again soon .

Booked a table for six online really easy to do,had a confirmation from the restaurant to confirm quickly.Nice greeting on our arrival seated immediately staff couldn’t do enough to ensure you were ok.Good and varied menu,food arrived quickly and hot staff regularly checked if ok would recommend a visit.

My husband and I decided to try the Favourite Thai restaurant as a change from our usual curry house. We were greeted by very friendly staff and given a choice of seats. The restaurant was quite busy and had a lovely atmosphere, it was also lovely and warm. I have noticed other reviews saying how cold it was, but not last night.

The staff are just amazing I have been for my anniversary and my birthday both times they made it special. I had a free pudding both times. They even put banners on the window we were sat at sang to me and brought me a candle. The food is always displayed amazing and there's so much of it. We can eat a lot and we can never finish it. Always try their starters the stewers are so tastey and the fish cakes are a must try. The thia green curry is to die for. This time I had the peanut curry was yummy just sweet. This all came to about 46.50. With 3 pints of orange juice.

Excellent food as always but the restaurant room temperature needs to be warmer especially during winter and when seated close to the windows.

The food was amazing as always but this was tainted by the heating not being on and the chairs past their best.

Visited on a quiet Sunday night with just us and a birthday party on opposite side of room.

Visited here for lunch today and the food was amazing. The gentleman was so friendly and couldn't do enough for us. I would definitely recommend visiting. We had the lunchtime menu which is 2 courses for £9.95 and it was delicious . We will definitely be visiting again

First time we came.. to see if as good as Baan Thai, where we go a lot. I would say they are on par. Great attentive service, but they were very quiet. Good quality food and value. We enjoyed one of the set menus.

I average at least one visit a week to My Favourite Thai and I love it! I go mainly at lunch when they have a main and drink for £6. Amazing value for such ace food. On this occasion i went with my wife and three children and everyone enjoyed it. I had the egg noodles and they were delicious. The kids also had noodles whilst my wife had a very satisfying soup. As well as the food, the staff were lovely too.

I can always recommend the Favourite Thai, whether it be for a family meal or catch up with friends. The food is always exceptional and really friendly service.

Best Thai food I’ve ever had by far. New favourite restaurant!! A must to all. Had a set menu B for two people,as wouldn’t know what to order, comes with set starter selection. Carnt recommend enough!! Also saw they do takeout two.

We went here recently and did not book a table, luckily there was a table free even though it was busy. overall the staff and food was great . no complaints whatsoever. The food was presented lovely and hot!

We went to Favourite Thai for lunch today, after what has been an age! We have missed Chairat (the owner) but as with everything else, life can get in the way.

My family and I have just come back from THE best Thai restaurant in Burton-upon-Trent, and I would go as far to say it is the best restaurant overall in the area. The quality of food is outstanding and so tasty you just want more and more. You can forget your "all you can eats" when the quality of your meal gets anywhere close to what you get here at Favourite Thai.

Went to visit the National Memorial Arboretum and ended up looking for a nice place to eat and we chose Thai food. We found this little place, it wasn't flashy and is modestly decorated Thai style and the Staff were very friendly and we really had a good time and good laugh. Food was incredibly good especially the starters, they were superb. The Staff were ever so friendly and welcoming they make you feel at home even though we did not have reservation. Pity they don't have much selection on draught beer and the bottled Thai beers are a bit pricey? All in all we had great time and enjoyed the food immensely.

My wife and I were in Burton on Trent to attend a friend’s wedding close by the following day. Not knowing the area we consulted Trip Advisor find out what restaurants were available and came across Favourite Thai high on the list, so we headed out to find the place.

We have been regulars at favourite thai for some years and it still hits the spot with lovely food and service and look forward to many more cracking thai meals here in the future,keep up the good work regards carlos

Went last night an had a taste of the new pork curry from the north of Thailand (sorry cannot remember the name) it was beautiful, tamarind based, not something I had tasted before, but will again. We will be back for more!

We visited the Favourite Thai again and were certainly not disappointed. The delightful staff are always so courteous and welcoming. We visit so often that they even remember what drinks we have.

Just got home from the most amazing banquet meal. Thoroughly enjoyed every course. Staff were friendly and very attentive. Would highly recommend this restaurant

Such a welcome on arrival . The food was better than ever delicious . The atmosphere was warm and friendly staff are very caring checking things are all ok though out the meal . All aspects of our visit was enjoyable .we all highly recommend a visit but then we are all big fans of Thai food and the Thai people there food is warming and comforting and the people are warm and friendly . I had crispy duck on crispy noodles with a side of vegetables. The duck and crispy noodles were drowned in a rich, thick sauce, which is usually something I'd enjoy, but this really didn't taste good. Someone else had the same dish and had the same complaint. This spoilt the dish.

If you like Thai , my favourite Thai is the place to go , staff friendly, wide choice of meals, nice environment great food.

We have been visiting Favourite Thai since just after it opened and it has maintained the highest standards throughout this time. It was a very busy Saturday night when we visited this time but the service and hospitality were as efficient and warm as ever. The family who run it were friendly and welcoming as always.

Meeting up in my home town of Burton-on-Trent, our friends booked the Favourite Thai. From the moment we arrived to our departure, we were extremely impressed. Extremely efficient & polite service, delicious food and an impeccably clean restaurant. Highly recommended.

I visited here on 16/06/18 having been before once with work before, I decided to take the girlfriend as we both really enjoy our oriental food. I first want to say that the owner and his staff are such great personalities and we were seen to and taken care of extremely quickly that I had already decided I’d be coming back if the food was even okay... this is because when it comes to eating out nowadays, there are lots of places to go and that serve good food, but when the staff go the extra mile to make your visit feel really enjoyable and fun then that is what for me separates where I want to go back to visit and where I’d rather look for a new experience.

This Thai restaurant is certainly one our Favourites. The food is amazing. Spare Ribs and chicken satays as a starter were absolutely delicious. We all had different mains which equally were as tasty. The soft noodles really are the best!!! Portions are of a good size, and prices reasonable. This is a Thai family business who are so so friendly and make you feel very welcome. Just get yourself there if you haven't had a Favourite experience you certainly won't be disappointed. We can't wait to return for our next Thai experience.

Soups are amazing Curries delicious and the staff down to earth, friendly and polite. Service prompt. Have been here many times and will come again.

Another fantastic family meal at Favourite Thai. Personal favourites: duck in tamarind sauce, hunglay pork, green chicken curry and chicken with sweet basil. All delicious and very authentic. Chairat and team are superb hosts.

I took my family here for dinner last night. We have been here so many times before and I continue to be impressed with the food and service.

Decided to give this place a try after trying another Thai restaurant in town but not enjoying it and I'm so glad I did. We went mid-week which actually was busier than I thought. The service was excellent and the food was delicious! The menu offers a great selection and we ordered way too much and couldn't finish it all but it's definately a place we're looking forward to going back too

Such good food.. all delicious and very generous portions. Thai platter starter was all great. Green Thai chicken curry and Thai basil beef stir fry were yummy and authentic. The chefs special roast duck is to die for! Finally, the staff were super friendly and the perfect balance between chatty and amsusing. 10/10 - absolutely smashing!

What can I say?! This restaurant is fantastic. The ambience is great and the service is excellent and very attentive. The waiters can't do enough for you. The menu is extensive and the dishes I tried were delicious. I had sweetcorn fritters and sweet chilli sauce to start (a personal favourite) and it was crisp and delicious with a nice kick. Definitely on par with the best I've tasted. For mains I shared a tofu green curry and a tofu massoman curry. Absolutely excellent and the portions are great. The egg noodle dish Pad Mee was awesome if you like food with a real kick (I do) and the coconut rice is heavenly. All the food is well presented and the coffee and jasmine tea at the end of the meal finished it off nicely. We were a party of 3 and we ate and drank loads but the bill was very reasonable indeed. I cannot fault the place and will definitely be going back :)

So friendly and helpful at this very busy restaurant, the food was delicious with good portions and reasonable prices. Well worth the visit we will be back.

Arrived here after a long day at Alton Towers and found this the right place for a lovely meal. We were a group of 7 and had not booked, but room was made for us upstairs and it was nearly like private dining. Service was very friendly and patient. The red curry was the best I ever had but none of the other dishes really disappointed. Shame it’s so far from where we live, would not mind coming back!
