Favourite Chinese Takeaway in Caerphilly

It’s the first time for me trying this takeaway and I was very happy. It was fresh and piping hot on delivery and arrived a little early. Thank you Favourite Chinese Takeaway, I will definitely be ordering from you again.

My chicken balls mayaswel have had no chicken in them. It was all greasy batter and the food was near enough cold

This took over 2 hours from the order. Due to arrive 19:35-19:55, arrived 20:45. Had to call the restaurant twice. Food arrived EXTREMELY cold. Requesting a refund for poor food and shocking wait.

I had food from there tonight it came to the door nice and hot it's was lovely food

Piping hot and really tasty food, also thank you very much to read and honour my note! The sweet and sour sauce amazing, the chicken balls crispy and light, crispy beef and chicken just enough crispy and not dry at all. Definitely recommend!

my food was an hour late and cold.

Special fried rice was egg fried rice with 3 slices of each meat, chips where small and old , satay sauce so watered down you could see through it, missed itemes off our order, they did come back and bring them but it was an hour later

Ordered a munch box. Took an hour and a half to come. Had no crispy chicken in it. Called them to let them know and was told the chef said he put it in. Being made out to be a liar. Wasn’t offered anything in return or an apology. First and last time ordering here

Veggie option excellent, difficult to find beancurd meals, so very happy with that. Food was right on time and piping hot. Everyone enjoyed their meals

No crispy chicken in my munch box

Chips were old and could tell they were from the day before, very small portion. The spare ribs were also cold. Gravy and chicken balls we’re nice though

Definitely wont be ordering again, the chips were quite clearly microwaved and the chicken curry i ordered was 80% carrot, i had no idea the curry included veg as it was not stated and it didnt taste like a curry you’d put on a chinese

didn't even taste like a curry, was sweet, barely any sauce so ended up eating dried rice

the curry sauce was awful! glad my box meal came with separate sauce, the barbeque was was way too salty, so ended up trying to eat dry rice chips and chicken balls, which wasn't the best experience.

This the review I left 3 years ago. Still as good as ever. Best Chinese in the area. Tried for first time with new management. Collected from premises. Ready 15 mins after ordering on a Friday evening. Lovely food. Really fresh. Light sauces, not the heavy gloop you so often get. Salt and pepper King prawn really crispy. Friendly staff.

Chicken curry wasn't great but chilli beef lovely

Sorry to leave such a negative review but this food was of the poorest quality imaginable, considering this is your livelihood I would have expected something edible in the very least. I’ve heard of sun dried tomatoes and apricots but not chips and chicken balls. Sweet and sour sauce was just boiled sugar and vinegar and the curry sauce was just as sweet, no spice at all. Sorry I know ingredient costs have spiralled but so have your prices so the standard shouldn’t suffer. Very poor.

pancake rolls excellent. curry was a little watery in consistency and chips were not freshly made. otherwise enjoyed the rest of our meal.

Takeaway - Easy ordering and quick delivery. But majority of food tasted like a whole bottle of salt had been dropped in there. No real flavour to any of the sauces, really thin consistency. Sauces that should have tasted sweet just tasted of salt. Couldn't finish the food due to the amount of salt. Won't be ordering again.

Chicken balls were a thing peice of chicken covered in a really thick batter, it wasn’t my cup of tea. The bbq ribs, the ribs were proper meaty but it didn’t taste like bbq. The fried rice was terrible, the chips were the worst chips we’ve ever tasted. The veggie spring rolls, they were nice! And so was the chicken chow mein, bit dry and rubbery but okay. Won’t be ordering again, sorry.

Food was disgusting chips and meat were like rubber the special fried rice was more like an egg fried rice hardly any sauce in it. I wouldn’t give it to my dog to eat would not order from there again

Delivery was good, chips dry and not much sauce in the black bean sauce, just a snip on the food needs to be looked at, a good portion and free prawn crackers and fortune cookie, will try others before coming back if it improves

Amazing food! Really recommend the salt and pepper box and the rest of our meals were delicious. Shame it was a busy NY Day and the delivery took longer than expected

Food came Cold I bought 2 pancake rolls for £3 and it came like 2 mini spring rolls! The sauces were like water and tasted like water also! All around disappointed after so many good reviews I read!

Food was nice hot and on time the only problem was there was very little meat in the roast duck chow mein and in the house special frid rice.

Sadly, Very disappointed. Chicken and beef curry was packed full of onions and carrots, and mushrooms, very little curry, very little flavour. Curry sauce at £2.50 a small pot very bland. Chips were over cooked. Special fried rice bland. The ribs were very nice. Our first time using this Chinese take away , costing us over £40,we were expecting much better. Despite having full address details, driver got lost and was at the wrong village! Will we use again, don’t think so.

Spent £56 here last night and threw most of the food in the bin. Rice clumped together, crispy beef was hard as rock, shredded honey chicken was really chewy and the sweet and sour sauce was disgusting. Won't be ordering again!

I had the pleasure of ordering takeout from Favourites in Blackwood, South Wales, and I must say, the food was outstanding. The flavors were authentic and absolutely delicious. I ordered a variety of dishes, and each one exceeded my expectations.

Food was very poor. Ordered at 4.45, food delivered at 5.15,so delivery was good. Very small bag of warmed up (not freshly cooked) shrivelled chips, water thin, sweet and sour sauce and green coloured curry sauce. First time using this Chinese and it will be the last time.

Half a duck for twenty pound was overcooked and burnt no meat on it timing was also fifteen mins late this Chinese is normally my favourite but today it was dismal

Probably the worst Chinese we have ever had. The duck was dry and tasteless. The sauce was inedible. Sweet and sour chicken didn’t take right.

Are local Chinese was closed but my daughter wanted a Chinese meal for her birthday. Chose this one based on reviews and it was lovely. The chicken fried rice was amazing and flavourful! Good amount of meat in the dishes too. Curry sauce was great, lovely chips. Everything taste great and empty plates all round. Thankyou.

I have ordered from this takeaway before and food has always been lovely, so was very disappointed this evening to find the quality of the food at a very poor standard, ordered 1/2 crispy duck with pancakes to feed 4 people, it was that overcooked that we only managed to make 5 out of the 12 pancakes and the rest was inedible, the chicken chop suey dish was very bland as was the chicken fried rice, the only tasty thing was the crispy chicken wings in chilli sauce, overall a waste of the £44.80 paid

Very disappointing, munch box was mainly chips & rice, all other items were overly greasy and the ribs had next to no meat, so poor quality for £17. And pancake rolls were tiny and had little filling. At least it was delivered hot. Only ordered from here as our usual was closed, won't be ordering again.

After waiting over an hour and still no sign of food had to ring the shop, told they were extremely busy (on a Tuesday?!?) promised we’d be the next delivery… another hour and it finally turns up where driver also had the wrong address. Food was average. First time trying them out - won’t be trying again.
