Fortune House in Caerphilly

They were 45 minutes late. I rang the restaurant and they clearly didn’t start cooking it until after i rang, when it was meant to be arriving. and when i asked the delivery driver why it was late, he was very rude and just said ‘nothing i can do about it’ and walked off! no apology or explanation. The food however was very nice and very hot.

Every order we’ve had from Fortune House exceeds our expectations! Piping hot, delicious, and plentiful. Plus reliable. All the components of a great restaurant which makes us loyal customers. Thank you

I spent £32 on king prawn curry which was so bland and virtually tasteless. The prawns were over-cooked. The prawn fried drive was the same and so was the sweet and sour chicken. Haven’t tried the hot and sour soup yet. Don’t waste your money guys.

We order from these guys time and time again. Always fresh, hot, on time and the ribs and house specials are THE best in Caerphilly. The delivery staff are always lovely and polite and we tip to show appreciation. Keep this up for 2025. Happy new year All. Thank you

We ordered chicken with green peppers and black beans. They delivered beef instead, which was very chewy.

Food was delivered warm - not piping hot - received delivery in a cardboard box possible why food came lukewarm

Take other people's advice and avoid the chicken balls and poppadoms. Chicken balls were soft and doughy inside and not crispy at all, and the poppadoms were very stale. They also delivered sweet and sour chicken Hong Kong style instead of crispy shredded chicken in honey sauce which was a massive disappointment. Satay sauce didn't taste like satay. Only plus is that they swapped sweet and sour sauce for barbecue as requested. Won't be ordering again though.

Ordered our food over an hour ago rang the restaurant told that they were waiting for a delivery driver but our food was ready. We called back to be told the food wasn’t made they were waiting for a delivery driver. I called to cancel the order less than two mins later to be told the food is now on its way. After being made within 3 mins. Absolute joke! Person on the phone was rude and blatantly lied. Asked if the food was great to be told it’s hot. Makes no sense

Never in my life tasted anything so vile. Felt like I was eating a cat. Disgusting. No flavour one bit. Sauce like water. !!!!! Avoid at all costs !!!!!!!

Another delicious meal, duck and spring onions is amazing and so are the salt and pepper king prawns 🍤 this is only 2 dishes out of about 6 or 7 and all of them don’t disappoint… definitely my go to takeaway A+

After spending almost £50, the food was not only an hour late, but they also didn't have the decency to make fresh food, and instead re-warmed it. The chips were like cardboard. Would not recommend.

Delivery time was a while. When food was delivered it was dry as the curry is already on the meal, where it had been sat waiting to be delivered the sauce had dried up. Had to make curry sauce from home to fix this. Usually have a better experience than this with fortune house. Disappointing.

I was due delivery at 8:20, that time came and went so I sent a msg via Justeat, to be told there was now a new time irrespective that my order was supposed to be on the way. that time also came and went , I rang the restaurant who were of no help. my food finally arrived at 9:26. It was like warm and my son had left for work without a meal. I'm really not happy as I now have two meals left over. I could have and should have saved my money

Absolutely beautiful chicken noodle soup the chicken was tender and the soup flavoursome.

Standard Chinese really - nothing special, nothing terrible except we weren’t a fan of the ribs. Also, minimum order for delivery is quite hard to hit for 2 people so spent a lot. Does not come with free prawn crackers.

Sweet and spur sauce container was open and leaked all over other dishes

Didn’t receive my food on time and when I phoned restaurant 3ins after my expected delivery time that was in just eat they said they haven’t even prepared it yet

Had a message to say food was on it was 40mins later said delivered on the app it wasn’t! I called to see what was going on they told me there had been a mix up and it be 10’mins! 10mins later still nothing called they said they Cook. fresh and deliver asap ! When the food finally arrived 2hours after ordering it was warm not hot I don’t think it was fresh I think it was the original! Shame Iv always used them and always recommend them on this occasion I’m disappointed!

Best Chinese we’ve found in the cearphilly area, took us a while trying the different options etc! Not the cheapest, but worth it for a nice treat!

Bland curry not a lot of taste to the rest of the food, very disappointed will not be using Fortune House again!

Ordered based on positive reviews, however food was not the standard we expected. Singapore noodles, pram toast, ribs and salt and chilli chicken were great, Crispy chicken was soggy. All of the batter came off and disintegrated into garlic sauce, leaving slices of chewy chicken breast. King prawns in garlic sauce came coated in soggy batter. Didn’t describe it as coated. Chicken balls were soggy, uncooked batter on the inside. Sweet and sour sauce was missing the sour! Doubt if we’ll order agai

Awful, had ribs, bbq sauce and noodles. Was the saltiest thing ive ever had. Wasnt hot. Poppadoms were clearly not fresh, tasted old and stale. Even the coke cans we had were room temperature. Will never order again.

Ordered food from here quite a few times but tonight's food was disgusting arrived freezing cold Ordered spare ribs and beef chow mein vile ribs were dry and full of fat and the meat in the chow mein was the same nearly choked on the meat it was that tough and dry I couldn't even feed it to my dog that's how bad it was the only good thing was the prawn crackers over £30 down the drain never again

This has to be the most disgusting food I've ever had from here, Crispy duck was just a pile of grease & fat with very little duck. Prawns were also awful, no crispy batter, soggy & very greasy, house special, well you could have swam in it! Would advise to stay away from this place if that's how they send food out

The worse food I've ever tasted,one mouthful of their satay chicken and I was being sick in the sink, absolutely foul

Great food every time, never disappoints.

Been ordering from here for years but the last few orders have been greatly disappointing. The crispy beef is chewy and the curry sauce is lumpy. They clearly just reheat food which is why you get non crispy beef and lumpy curry sauce which explains the super fast delivery times.

Once again absolutely delicious, this is the best Chinese takeaway I have ever tasted. The food is always hot and and the flavour in each dish is an absolute delight.

Food was fab as always but ordered chicken in satay sauce and had beef in satay sauce delivered. It was still lovely so didn’t see the need to try and get it swapped

Sends Wrong food then when you complain no English spoken .rude girl on phone makes you repeat constantly doesn't listen to you ,then tells you as you they will give you a free one next time .so I'm left without a meal will not deliver a replacement as they are unwilling to replace the other part of the meal as it's cold waiting for replacement

Eta was 7pm till 7.20 then 7.20 till 7.40. Turned up at 7.55pm

Ordered food at 5.30 was told it would arrive at 7.25. At 7.30 we were told that the food was on its way and would arrive by 7.50. At 8pm I called for an update to be told that my food hadn't even be cooked as delivery's are not as important as collections and that I should have some patience. Appalling customer service

Ordered the cookie dough and chocolate crepe, absolutely delicious, warm and plenty of it! Delivery driver was lovely- food arrived in 20 mins from ordering. Both myself and daughter very happy. Thank you for our Saturday night treat:) we will be ordering again ! X

I ordered on just eat because I had no cash to go in. I didn't realise it was the takeaway next door and I paid over the odds. They don't take cards only cash inside shop.

We visited the other but ordered through tha app tha services was very very very rude I will not be buying anything form here for was calf staff argumentative and don’t hold up the cakes they put in the just eat app I will in form my family and friends to do the same Not long again a neighbour of mine neatly died from hun cooked pork !! He was very I’ll and in hospital

Not the best this time around which was disappointing. Never had an issue with the food here before, it has always been really nice but this time around tasted funky, smelt, soggy and over cooked, has put me off ordering for a while

Delivery was fast and everything ordered was there, the quality of the food wasn’t great though and it was quite cold and oily.

Not ordered from here for years so thought I'd give them a try again. Ordered peking ribs that came in bbq sauce and the sauce was like water. Crispy salt n pepper chicken which was only half the portion that you get elsewhere. Curry sauce was very sweet I didn't like it. Prawn crackers were chewy and not crispy they definitely were from yesterday. Overall unhappy I would not order from here again!

Food was disgusting I had to throw it all in the bin a horrible taste on all the food I use to order from here regularly but gone down hill I have tryed to get refund from just eat nothing I will be contacting trading standards to sort this out

They missed my sauces and brought them 40 mins later which meant the food was cold. Tried to microwave which I shouldn’t for £50 meal but it was then rubbery. What a waste of £50 gutted was my kids monthly treat with this cost of living crisis

They changed my delivery time and when the food did arrive it was so cold it was inedible. Offered me less than a third of my order back as a refund for cold inedible food that I had to throw away. Disgusting service. Will never use again.

Ordered crispy chicken in lemon sauce. The whole dish was soggy and went straight In the bin. The whole delivery was cold and had to reheated which ruined it. The chips tasted as if they had been microwaved several times. The beef in the chopsuey was as tough as old shoe leather and also ended up in the bin, even our dog turned her nose up at the beef. Will not be ordering from here again and will not recommend to anyone

Had a message saying food had left the takeaway. I live 12mins away. Food took 45 minutes to arrive. Stone cold. All of it. Everything had to be reheated. Very expensive food, which I had to cook again anyway, essentially meant I ended up paying twice. Will not order from here again.

Called the restaurant twice to see where our order was as it had been out for delivery for over 30 mins, it finally arrived after placing the order an hour and 40 mins ago, the food arrived cold as well. Won’t be ordering from here again.

Food arrived early was hot and very tasty. Have ordered from Fortune House a number of times now and it's been good on every occasion.

Food was freshly cooked, tasty and piping hot, what's not to love on a Friday evening following a long hard week in work. Would order from here again for sure
