Not long ago had my delivery and omg! Absolutely amazing food haven’t enjoyed a Chinese like that in a long time! Also the lady that took my order was so lovely, really nice talking to her what a fab lady! Absolute nutter🤪

OK so this is an update, last night me and my fiancée had a delivery from here. After being told the food would be an hour we settled into doing the thing that fiancées do together when there is time to spare 😏😉 so after 16 minutes of ignoring each other and staring at our phones there is a knock at the door and who is it but none other than the delivery driver with our food. So after a scramble to put away our phones we settled into our food, which was absolutely delicious. So delicious that I couldn't stop eating it and popped a button on my trousers and gave myself indigestion. The moral of this story is expect good food, don't get too busy after ordering food, and slow down eating.

Ordered food for delivery through Food Hub. It came exactly on time and was piping hot. Good flavour and nice portions. We will definitely eat here again. My husband said the pancake rolls were the best he's had.

Our family have ordered from this Chinese for many years, and we ordered a family meal for four people to be delivered, which included the family favourite 'crispy beef' for which we shared out on each plate, only to find that it had a strong chemical taste making it totally inedible, we can only assume the pan was not cleaned out of detergent before cooking and as a result our 13 year old son who consumed some was very poorly all night. We very rarely ever complain but when I called the lady in charge she seemed very unconcerned and just said next time we are in they will give us a free crispy beef. And the manager would call me back, which never happened!! Unfortunately given this experience we will not be returning to this shop anytime soon, and would suggest people check out the recent reviews before deciding on where to order from.

Ordered spare ribs which were lovely 😍. Chicken chow mein was the worst I've had in 30 years, chow mein is supposed to be beansprouts, water chestnuts,bamboo shoots with meat on a bed of noodles. I received a mulsh of noodles with overcooked chicken pieces. Fried rice was cooked to death, unedible. NEVER AGAIN FROM THIS TAKEAWAY

I'll be honest first time I used this place I vowed never again, but my daughter has never had an issue, so I threw caution to the wind last week, all I can say is wow, I've had a few Chinese takeaways in my time but the chicken fried rice and crispy beef were spot on .

Ordered online through their website, took money through PayPal, no food delivered, no answer on phone. 10 days later and they're refusing to refund despite proof of purchase. Absolute thieves. AVOID.

Ordered over £100 worth of food for a birthday celebration, order acknowledged and confirmed for delivery within an hour but order never arrived. When we drive to the shop to query, the shop was actually shut!!! Absolutely appalled by this service! You've taken our money but provided no food!!! Extremely disappointed!!!! Ordered £100 worth of food for birthday celebration with family. Waited over an hour and half for this delivery and received nothing. Phoned multiple times with no answer. Drove there and found that it was shut. Absolutely appalled by this customer service. Very unhappy (and hungry) customers. Will not be ordering from here again.

Called in for a meal to take home about 19. 30. It has to have been the worst Chinese ever. Chicken was like eating lumps of rubber, the rest was no better. Will never eat from this place again.

Food arrived quite cold but as we were dishing it up, it all looked like a glue type texture - very gloopy and food tasted like it too (that’s if it had any taste as it was all really bland). Texture on everything just felt really off. Never again, complete waste of money

Food turned up 35 minutes late, all food was cold chips all soggy forgot our drinks and poppadoms all broken into tiny pieces. I rang to ask for my pop was told no they could t deliver it and I would get a free one next I said there wouldn’t be a next time as all the food was cold and horrible and he said I could go and get my pop and nee chips I said the reason for delivery was because I couldn’t get there and he said nothing he can do and hung the phone up! Terrible customer service and the food was disgusting

Have ordered from here countless times over the last few months, good food at good prices. Never had an issue.

We are regular customers and order the same food every time, we had the same food last night and we had to throw most of it in the bin, the only thing we ate were the prawn crackers. The chips were cold and dry, chicken chowmein was cold with a few bits of cold dry chicken thrown on top, egg fried rice dry and cold and the chicken balls were soggy and undercooked and the sweet and sour sauce was a solid jelly not a liquid no more orders for you guys I'm afraid..

Have eaten a couple of times from here and it’s been hit and miss, staff have been confrontational and rude but tonight was ridiculous. A family member paid by card but when the driver arrived he advised no payment had been received and told me the amount. As I didn’t make the order, I didn’t realise it had already been paid for, so I paid him plus gave a £2 tip. We realised after eating that we’d paid twice and called to advise of the problem. The manager immediately dismissed us and hung up before we could even say what the problem was! He repeatedly hung up and told us he didn’t care! Eventually he stopped screaming enough to listen and asked for the order number which I gave. He then asked me for a description of the driver and told me he’d see when the driver returned. 40 mins later a young girl came to return the money. I get that mistakes happen, however the attitude of this man was disgusting, he’s an absolute psychopath. Food was also terrible, overpriced and bland.

Just had terrible customer experience from this takeaway. Paid by card, my daughter didnt realise and gave cash + tip to the delivery driver, (who said we hadnt paid). I rang the takeaway and before I could even explain the man on the phone said "we dont care" and put the phone down!!! 4 calls later my daughter explained what happened and demanded the driver bring the money back as its theft. We are currently sat here waiting. If we dont get the money back we will contact the Police. I work in the NHS and I have never had such bad customer experience. I wish I had seen other customer reviews before ordering. Will never go to this Chinese takeaway again.

Ordered chicken balls as upon biting in the texture felt weird on looking was evident the chicken was very under cooked never will I order from there again.

We have previously been loyal customers of Royal Palace, yes they have had the odd 'off night' where we haven't enjoyed the food but we have given them the benefit of the doubt. However, after this evening, I can honestly say we will NOT return. We ordered our usual, only to find that when we got home, the order was wrong. 2 dishes were incorrect. I phoned them only to be told that I must've given them my order wrong. I did not. My child has allergies and we can only order limited dishes because of this. We were given Egg Fu Yung and Chicken Chow Mein - which I did NOT order. Despite me saying that I did not have plain soft noodles in front of me, the lady on the phone repeatedly told me that I did. I did not. I asked to speak to the manager, and although I could hear them talking in the background, he did not come to the phone. She came back to the phone, and maintained that my order must have been given wrong and said that 'she did not know what to do'. My husband returned to the shop to hand back the wrong order and request a refund of the incorrect dishes which was initially refused. Eventually, we were given our money back for the 2 dishes that we paid for, but did not receive. Please note, the manager of Royal Palace made NO APOLOGY for the situation, or the wrong food that was provided which could've caused ANAPHYLAXIS. He did however, hurl abuse at my husband effing and jeffing the whole time. My husband did not speak to him in any similar way to retaliate, which he was able to bring to his attention. I am appalled and disgraced by his behaviour and that of the customer service received by staff. The person on the phone only said sorry after I had specifically brought to her attention that she had not even offered an apology. We will be reporting this matter to the Food Standard Agency and our local council. If you have ALLERGIES, please AVOID this chinese takeaway! They do not take the matter seriously, and when something does go wrong, they abuse you for even mentioning it.

Just not the best. Sweet and sour tastes of cinnamon and just not as enjoyable as a few of the others in Caerphilly. Not a patch on Pagoda in Castle View

Can’t even say I’d give the place 1 star but won’t let me leave review otherwise as ordered food to be told would be 45 minutes delivery turned up 30 mins later not bad but food was warm not hot must say I’ve never had such slimy greasy food from a Chinese ever! No taste to it curry sauce was you’re average chip shop curry and poppadoms must have come from ASDA n been warmed up pure disgusting never go here again only reason we did was our normal Chinese was shut my 8 year old daughter could most prob have cooked a better Chinese and she can’t cook 100% not Chinese chef most likely Dai Jones from up the road

Ordered a crispy beef with egg fried rice and curry sauces all in all quite nice . Will return for another go . Beef was nice and curry sauce unusual but tasty.

Delicious chinese/cantonese food take away, phone order in to pick up or just drop in,there is a wait in busy times or ring to have home delivery. Downside is paying as they only do cash , no bank cards . Girls behind counter freindly & good at their job.

It's an amazing chinese, the food is outstanding and the girls behind the counter are always polite and friendly.

We have had a few take away's from The Royal Palace , alway's piping hot and tasty. We collect and never been kept waiting more than a few minutes, staff are polite and courteous. Happy to recommend this place and enjoy the food.

Absolutely disgusting food. My food arrived and it was all rock solid. The salt and chilli chicken was like a rock, the chips were all hard and were like last night chips warmed up, the ribs were dry and it wasn't even hot. Phoned to complain and because I had eaten some they would not give me a full refund. Of course I had eaten some I had to eat some to discover how awful it was. So unhelpful with my complain. Will never order from here again!

Excellent food, not greasy or stodgy like a lot of other Chinese takeaways,delivery is a bit slow but worth the wait, so order early especially on Friday or Saturday nights.

This place is under new management. Used to be great now it’s the worse Chinese in caerphilly. Delivery driver lost his tempter because he couldn’t find the house. He phoned me and shouted “i’v been knocking for ages” so I said sorry il be there now and he hung up... i went to the door and he wasn’t there. So I phoned him back and said your not there he said “I am”. I said your obviously at the wrong House. He confirmed the address I said yes. Passed the phone to my friend so she could give me directions to the house because I couldn’t speak to him. He lost his tempter and called my friend a b*tch because he couldn’t understand simple instructions and then sped off and beeped. So we have no food and my friend got called a b*tch. Lovely. Will not be ordering again..

Ordered food, food took a while but I understand that it does take a while to find my address. But he rang and said I've been knocking for ages and my friend apologised and he just hung up on her. We went outside he wasn't there so we rang him back and he answered with a disgusting attitude. Every time I asked where he is he kept saying at the address and when I explained where to go because I got confused where he was he kept shouting at me. His attitude was appalling. He then said f**k you, you b**ch got back in his car and sped of and beeped to cause a reaction without delivering the food. I then rang management and she did deal with it in a good way but not professional. Got told that she has to get of the phone to cook my food not even an apology. By the way this place is under new management because I've never experienced this in my life. I am appalled from the way the guy spoke to me and also that I got told the manager had to get of the phone to cook my food. The food was alright not enough sauce but I put that down to they had to get the food to us quick because of what happened. I will not be returning again as I am so upset with what I got called as no customer deserves that I have been cutting hair for years and would never dream of speaking or treating my customers this way. I then asked if I can have anything of from my food for the inconvenience and I got told they can take of for the delivery which was 3 pounds!!!! If I had done any of this to any of my clients I would of never of expected them to pay for any service they were unhappy with. So I'm disgusted.

We have had a few takeouts from here. The chicken balls are delicious with the sweet & sour sauce. Its a clean takeaway & the counter staff are friendly.

We go here quite often. The problem we find is that it is not consistent, more often or not the chips are way undercooked .

Portions are a little small. Too many bean sprouts as opposed to the other ingredients. £3.85 for half and half noodles/fried rice is much too expensive. Apart from all that, the food is good.

Was told food would be an hour. I rang after an hour and they said it would be another 20 minutes, 40 minutes later it turned up. No apology and they had my number so there's no excuse really. Smallest bag or LARGE chips I have ever seen and it all arrived cold. £29 worth of Chinese and it was a pile of crap. Won't order from here again.

We've tried a few Chinese takeaways during the five years we've lived in Caerphilly & this is undoubtedly the best one. Great food, reasonable prices and always within the time estimate they give you for delivery.

Unfortunately this was a second in a row that my meal was ruined. Half the order arrived and when called back I was given two options. Have my other half of the order sent up or credit the money. Since I had to feed alk the people I ordered for I asked for the delivery. They weren't too happy but eventually agreed. By the time the rest arrived the other food was cold. Never order from this place again and although the girl on the phone was polite and tried to be helpful the manager/owner ? was a waste of effort. That's £30 down the drain.

I have been ordering food from the Royal Palace for a few years. Tonight the food was dreadful, it was salty, tasteless and to find a hair in my chicken ball was not pleasant! Delivery took 85 minutes despite being told it would be 1 hour. Very shocked to find out that the hygiene rating has dropped to a 2! Very expensive for poor quality, time to find a new Chinese.....

The royal palace is without a doubt the best Chinese in Caerphilly, I have never had a bad meal from here. The chips are proper chip shop chips, not like the rubbish hard ones you get from other Chinese restaurants. Worth collecting as its a very popular take away.

Wouldn't visit here again. Came here because our usual chinese was closed and hadn't realised. The flavours were really bland and everything just tasted the same on my plate. Bbq sauce tasted like water, sweet n sour sauce was like syrup. Only positive was that the Chinese pork was really tender but all the sauces pretty much tasted the same.

Hot but not much flavour, sweet and sour sauce was very acidic and not much flavour. Curry sauce was pale in colour. Wouldn't 're order although service was prompt and food was piping hot.
