Tried this place for the first time in years after hearing it was under new management just to be deeply disappointed. Everything we had was very bland. The special curry was absolutely tasteless and the chow mein was very dry. The only reason Ive given two stars is because their pricing is cheap compared to others in the area

We had an absolutely delicious meal last night including pancake roll and chicken balls , there was no grease whatsoever on the food, didn’t have to wait long, very good value for money , very pleased indeed, well done 👏

Worst Chinese I have ever had! Curry and sauces were like water, crispy chicken was soggy, no taste at all. Would never order from here again!!

Ordered a meal to be delivered and all I can say it was VILE. Crispy Beef was lukewarm and tough, not an ounce of crisp. Chips were cold and stale with lots of black on them, Special Fried Rice and Chicken Curry both had to be reheated. Disgusting when my partner paid £28.70. This Take Away used to be brilliant, I for one won’t be ordering from here again 😤

Best Chinese takeaway in Caerphilly, period! Always pleasant on the phone, the delivery is fast and the food is so sooo nice! Particularly the chips and egg fried rice for me.

My wife and I enjoyed our take away which I was on time with nice staff. I had chicken fried rice and she had vegetable chow mein.

Since 'New golden house' the food has been lovely, can't fault it at all, delivery was fast, hot food, lovely curry sauce and no jelly meat, only 2 Chinese takeaways in caerphilly town including this one has nice meat. Will definitely be ordering again.

Recently ordered from here not realising that the owners have changed. Meat in the special fried rice very hard no taste to the beef in oyster sauce it more like a soup the rice was ok but overall it was below average.

Unfortunately we haven’t enjoyed tonight’s food. We’re limited for choice with lockdown. There was something very off with the sauces-sweet and sour and curry. The chow mien tasted funny and the chicken balls and pineapple fritters were dry. The rice was ok, but I expect better. It’s a shame because it’s always been alright before. Service was great.

First time ordering from here. Decided to order salt and chilli chicken, egg fried rice, chips, bbq spare ribs, bbq sauce and curry sauce. The salt and chilli chicken was like baby chicken balls, if I originally wanted chicken balls I would of ordered them, they also purely tasted of just salt. The chips were more like wedges, the oil hadn’t been drained from them correctly - I had to spit the chip out when I bit into it as it was full of greasy. The egg fried rice was hard and tasteless. Both bbq and curry sauce was like a jelly substance, far too thick and lumpy. The bbq sauce that covered the ribs were also the same, the ribs were mostly fatty and the meat that was left was dry. Will not be ordering from here ever again, very disappointed.

Not happy reheated chips and rice. Food was as dry as sand. Not eating from there again. It used to be a nice takeaway. Totally gone down hill.

The only Chinese I will go to in Caerphilly, a cut above the rest. Been going here for years and absolutely hate when Golden House has been shut and have made do with others, e.g pontygwindy road, castle view etc as it just doesn’t compare on quality. The produce is always fresh and cooked to order, not smothered in MSG or grease like most other Chinese take aways. The service is superb and delivery is always quicker than stated. Unbeatable.

Went to Golden House tonight first time back there for a while and not impressed opened the spring roll and there was a pool of grease on the paper the food was tasteless sorry not impressed.

So very disappointed that after years of getting takeaways from here, we were missing an item on our delivery last night, we called Golden House to advise of this and were basically told that I was lying because she had put it in the order. No apology given, nothing given for good will or loyalty for years. Disgraceful.

Ordered salt and pepper chicken, chicken chow mein bbq spare ribs, sweet and sour chicken balls and egg fried rice. Rice had barely any egg in it, salt and pepper chicken was okay but no garlic at all, chicken chow mein was just chicken with box of bean sprouts, chicken balls were big but overdone, bbq spare ribs were the worst you'll ever find, it literally tasted of water. Rang up to complain and just got an argument. 1/5 is too good

Was so looking forward to my food all night...then as I was dishing it out I tasted a bit...as you do!! Well it’s disgusting!!there is no flavour what so ever..I’m gutted I’m starving and I don’t want to eat it 🤬 never ever will I order food from here again

Had a meal from here recently as my usual was closed and the food was disgusting. Dry rice, soggy chicken balls and everything tasted the same. Rank.

Local Chinese on castle view closed as they were on holiday fancied a Chinese. Decided to go here big mistake the lady behind the counter was rude. The food itself was horrible, curry sauce in the tiniest tub I've ever seen. Chicken fried rice tasteless and very little chicken. Plain rice just came out in a lump. Noodles tasteless. Save your money don't get your takeaway here.

Really good quality food, super friendly staff and quick delivery. Would definitely recommend. The food was packed really securely and everything was just so fresh.

Staff were friendly, service was quick and they gave a good recommendation to try the salt chili squid (would recommend to anyone - was totally banging). Apart from that the food was excellent and the noodle weren't greasy.

After you've had one Chinese takeaway from 'The Golden House', I cant imagine why you'd ever chose to visit another takeaway restaurant in Caerphilly or Cardiff! Having been a regular customer here for years, I can say with certainty that the quality of your takeaway will be excellent! Yes, the chips and 'chicken balls', are average. But what this takeaway really specialises in, is proper Chinese dishes! Rice, side dishes, and main courses always taste wonderful! The delivery service is also excellent. Last time we ordered, we were told it would take 30 minutes, however, not 5 minutes after putting down the phone, our food arrived. The staff work so quickly and efficiently, and are always friendly to customers! The disabled access to this building is not good, as there are a few steps, and two step ramps up to the takeaway restaurant, however you can use the delivery service as mentioned before. There is a very cheap car park across the road if you are planning to pick up your takeaway. It is also in a convenient place for Caerphilly residents to walk to. The takeaway restaurant is in the centre of Caerphilly, and opposite the towns most popular attraction, Caerphilly Castle. This makes 'The Golden House' a perfect place to get a Chinese after your day out. I would go as far as saying that this is the best Chinese food I have had!

Chicken balls undercooked fried rice was stodge ,avoid try pontygwindy rd thats what u call a takeaway

Food came quick but was unedible, chips were reheated, noodles and rice swimming in grease, chicken balls had a tiny amount of chewy chicken in them, just fat and batter. I ordered a large hot curry which was £3.10 and it didn't come with the meal so I phoned and was made out to be a lier, was then told I had to wait until later as they only had 1 driver working and was hung up on.I phoned back an hour later and the lady had terrible attitude I was still told I had to wait. When it finally came it was a small mild curry not the large hot one I ordered. All in all the worst Chinese I've ever had. I was absolutely disgusted by how rude they were.
