Went along for the first time as we were given a gift voucher. It was amazing. Everything we ordered was lovely just like being back on holiday.. staff were all friendly and service was great. We both had 3 courses . Kleftico was beautiful and lots of it with fantastic potatoes. Will be back.

One of the best Greek food I have ever tried. It was tasty, perfect atmosphere, enjoyed the food. Tried chicken as well has veg Greek wraps which were absolutely delicious. Tried cold coffee which was not that great, hot chocolate was good enough

Great food, lovely staff. The only negative was, that there wasn't pepper and salt shaker on the table.

A pleasant dinner in a nice establishment. Reasonable price quality. Good service and very welcoming atmosphere. The varied grill is a great option. We had dinner without a reservation, almost by miracle...and it was January...Reservation is recommended.

The Rosemary potatoes are to die for! lovely little place!

Have been here twice now and I am always happy with the food. Fresh, tasty and nicely presented. Good wine choice and really enjoyed their passion fruit margarita. The staff are welcoming and I love the interior

Fava is absolutely amazing, one of our favourite Greek restaurants in Edinburgh! A great selection of mezzes and lots of vegetarian options, the house wine is really good, everything is absolutely delicious, and friendly and helpful service as well! Highly recommend it, we keep going back because the food is fantastic.

Went to Fava today with my brother and sister.What a lovely Greek Restaurant.Food and staff were Excellent.This is the third greek Restaurant I have been to in Edinburgh and by far the best. Also great to be served by native Greeks,not like the other to greek Restaurants I visited.poli Oreo.. Bravo Fava staff for great service.

Service was great and very fast. The food delicious but not the best. I ordered falafel gyro wrap which was a bit dry. They could have put more sauce or tomato.. my husband ordered chicken gyro portion and he liked it. We also had mix dip (it looks like mix meze) with pita bread - it was super delicious. I forgot to take photos of our main foods but I am sharing mix meze plate 🤌🏼🤌🏼

Nice atmosphere and good service, but I don't find food that good or authentic. Greek salad not what I expect and oily chips. No classics like spanokopita etc.

Everything about this place is perfect. Food, staff, service, atmosphere. The lamb is wonderful, starters, red wine, coffee... everything I've tried, I've loved..Try it, you won't be disappointed.

We went Fava to celebrate our friends’ birthday. Everything that we ate was delicious (especially mousakka and lamb) and service was very fast. Stuff was also great. Also you should definitely end up with their amazing desserts.

The food is 10/10 We came here after a cold day in the snow and wow it warmed us up and was a lovely meal. The starter was amazing, the main was amazing and the desert was amazing. Highly recommend.

I ordered a dish with chicken and pork, but since I don’t eat pork, they gladly replaced it with extra chicken, which not all places will do. The food was high quality, though I wish there was a bit more salad and sauces. Overall, a very positive experience!

Limited menu. At 7pm there was no pork left for gyros! Kleftiko was not as I have had before, it was a lamb shank and not cooked with potatoes but the flavour was good. Overall disappointed and wouldn't go again.

Not great, especially for people with dietary restrictions. Menu isn't very descriptive, with dishes including cheap elements that aren't listed to bulk the plates out. I'm unable to eat potatoes, and asked to swap the potatoes for some green leaves or veg. They refused, which is really unkind, and told me the only swap they would be willing to make was to fries - weird suggestion for someone who has just told them they can't eat potatoes. On arrival, the meat platter was a bit chewy, the gyros a bit bland. Wouldn't go again or recommend it.

Albanian-owned restaurant offering a Greek-style menu. The owners operate several other Edinburgh restaurants, like La Casa and Mia Italian on Dalry and Leith Road. Don’t expect an authentic Greek dining experience here; the prices are high, the quality is mediocre, and the service feels rushed and impersonal. There are many better Greek eateries in Edinburgh.

Food is nice enough although I have definitely had better gyros and the fava bean dip was lacking in flavour. Service is fast but I'd rather the restaurant focus on improving the quality/taste of it's food. Could be so much better.

Great restaurant with authentic Greek dishes however it was very noisy and that spoilt it for us as an older couple.

Nice restuarant, we ate courgettes, calimari, Gyros, mixed grill and dessert. Service is good and restuarant is nicely decorated inside. Courgettes and gyros rea⁷lly good. Mixed grill was ok maybe just a bit too much meat! Dessert we got the chocolate cake which was good. Would go back

Since we still had some time before our return flight, we spontaneously decided to stop here - and we weren't disappointed at all! The service was extremely friendly and the cozy ambience of the restaurant contributed to a relaxed atmosphere. For starters we enjoyed the best mussels we have tasted in a long time. For the main course we chose a portion of gyros, which was wonderfully fresh, authentic and deliciously prepared. The price-performance ratio was also absolutely right. We can highly recommend this restaurant!

I arrived early by myself and was given a warm welcome. Even on Tuesday evening the atmosphere was buzzing. The food was great and reasonably priced.

Absolutely loved our visit to Fava tonight. Food, restaurant and staff were superb and although I didn’t have any this time the cocktails were a huge hit! Will definitely be back…soon. Gorgeous.

Excellent Greek dish, we had chicken and pork gyros. The portions are certainly smaller than a doner kebab but the quality is really excellent. Well-cooked, non-greasy meat

My family and I had an excellent time at Fava nice and casual, everything else top notch.

Fava - NO VAVA ! What atmosphere ? No Greek decore, no greek music to transport me to Greece, frankly I could gave been in any modern high street resturant in anywhere in the world. We felt pressured and rushed to order ... mains only to keep space for desert when mains Kliftiko x 2 arrived the plates were ice cold ...sorry guys but a cardinal sin to serve a hot dish on cold plate. I asked for extra gravy / sauce ...was told there was ..but by my eye was the same amount as on my friends plate ... served on a bed of Potato "puree"... why not call it what it is ..mash... esp as it is stolen lamb ..be more rustic than fancy snd get it wrong ...ie ensure the pototo is completely mashed .. I had chunks of solid potato in the mix ..... Dissapointed with my main and the chatter so loud we didnt stay to try desert or finish with a coffee ... all round ... an expensive and dissapointing mediocre meal. 65 pound bill could have strerched to 90 emwurh dester and coffee and possible nightcap .... Fava not a resturant id rave yo my network about.

We were a party of 8 and the restaurant was full when we were seated. It had a fabulous atmosphere - a real buzz. This on a Wednesday night before 7:00 pm! The staff were great, very attentive, friendly and gave excellent recommendations, explaining the dishes perfectly. The food was amazing, we had a selection of mezes dishes for the table. The fried courgette with red tzatsiki one of the many highlights. I can't wait to go back.

Was recommended this place by a local and it certainly lived up to my expectations. Both the food and the service were excellent. The tzatsiki was fantastic. I would highly recommend the lamb which was excellent. Definitely give this place a try it you are in the mood for some great geek food.

Ouzo, which should have been served cold, was hot. The portions are generally very small, I went with high expectations, it cannot exceed the average.

Food was amazing and so was service. They were incredibly fast in serving our big table even though they were super busy. The baklava was to die for and the gyros portion for that price was huge. We got a a wide selection of dishes from the menu and everyone LOVED the food. Definitely one of the best Greek places i've bern to in the city. Can't recommend it enough!

Not particularly good although the place was busy on a Thursday evening. Waited ages at the table before being able to make our order, starters for four arrived but in 3 distinct phases, just plonked on the table, meaning some had almost finished before others had started. Wine ok but on the expensive side. Mains a disappointment. Mash was watery purée, lamb kleftico shank ok however the moussaka wasn't authentic at all, no layers of aubergine, potato and courgette just a hot pot topped with sauce and probably microwaved. Greek moussaka has thinly sliced vegetables and meat layered with sauce overlaid and cooked in an oven. Baklava was good. Service was appalling, we were just left and had to ask for everything, so poor we removed the service charge from the bill. Can't believe this place is so popular.

Food wasn't great: my gyros was lacking in flavour. I was also served a disgusting pint that tasted like vinegar. To be fair to the staff, they sorted the drink out quickly, but it put a real dampener on the visit.

Since we didn't have a reservation, they could only sit us at a table for about an hour. We used the time to share several starters, all of which were delicious. It was busy and therefore quite noisy, but the service was friendly and quick.

Having a Greek partner, we always find going to greek restaurants very hit and miss - especially when you're used to the real thing. However, Fava is very much a hit! Beautiful food, feels very fresh and authentic. 5* from us.

Had a really nice meal here, favourite was the portakalopita (I think that is right) huge portion but a box to take home was appreciated. Only bug bear is added service charge, personal preference is to give cash or choose an amount but this is pre added.

Very nice greek restaurant in the Haymarket area. Good food, nice service, a little overcrowded at times but that’s because of its popularity. Definitely recommend a visit when around.

Very busy, but service was slow and I thought food could have been better.

I've been here a couple of times now and every time it is superb. I came last night with my partner and had a couple mezedes to start and then the mains. Great tasting Greek food, great service, and beautiful decor in the restaurant. 100% recommend!

Beautifully decorated interior. Service was attentive. I had the grilled fish main course. Probably the best grilled fish I’ve had in Edinburgh. I would definitely return for this. The orange cake was far too sweet.

This is a bad review because the place has gone downhill. They used to offer authentic Greek food (like kleftiko) but they have now gone European with a goal to do volume vs quality. Similarly the deserts are down to 3 (of which one is not even Greek) vs the selection they had before. It is a pity

Very underwhelmed by the food… hummus was bland, pitta bread was soggy, the chicken was dry and the calamari average. Lovely restaurant and nice staff but unfortunately won’t be returning!

Came last Saturday for lunch.We we're told about I, and told to try. Didn't disappoint. Was a fantastic meal from start to finish.The starters through to the sweet. The service was very good too. Will definitely be back..

A stylish Greek restaurant. It seems to be one of the restaurants run by an Italian owner who also runs the pizza shop next door, as well as nearby Italian and Japanese restaurants. All stores have stylish interiors. This store is always crowded. I ordered a mix of grilled chicken and pork recommended by the staff, and a shrimp dish, and it was delicious. I thought it was a bit salty, but the atmosphere was so nice that the taste of the food was even more delicious. I feel like that.

I was looking forward to dinner here after reading the menu and good reviews, but it was honestly so average. The food was fine, but not outstanding (although the saganaki was rather disappointing; what we were served was basically a deep-fried piece of cheese which was bizzare and far too expensive). We were also served our food just minutes after ordering which made us feel rushed, but then waited almost 40 minutes for staff to check on us and provide the bill after we finished our meal.

Made the reservation in advance of our weekend in Edinburgh with friends via their website, two of our party arrived on time, unfortunately we were stuck in traffic and were 15mins late. The staff told our friends that the kitchen would be closing at 8:30pm, & kept rushing them to order, when I made the booking for 8pm this wasn’t advertised as the case. We arrived at 8:15, were handed menus and told to order, a few minutes later we were offered drinks. The starters came and the staff were trying to clear the plates before we’d even finished! The food came out & was disappointing, lumpy mash, no vegetables with the chicken, no sauce with the mussels & woefully small portions. Once the food was out no one came and checked on us, two young ladies started cleaning, emptying bins etc & the guys all sat down to eat, we weren’t offered any desserts or a second drink, I even had to get up and ask for the bill. Booked because of their good reviews but was very disappointed. Maybe if they shut at 8:30pm on a Sunday they shouldn’t take a booking for 8pm!
