Fat Toni's in Stroud

The pizza was fantastic— However, the service was another story. Our pizza actually arrived before our drinks, and there was some confusion about our vegan order. It’s possible the staff members were new, but that just highlights the need for better training. Also, be prepared for the cold—this place could double as a walk-in freezer. If you're planning to visit, don’t leave your coat in the car—you’ll need it!

We went for a pizza lunch three times during our month in Stroud. The first time the pizza crust was under-cooked considerably. The second time the pizza was excellent with plenty of toppings -what we expect from the place. The third visit however the pizza arrived with blobs of toppings here and there, practically bald.

Fat toni's stroud is closed down. They are not answering the phone. For online orders they take your money and then reject the order and refund the money

Great pizza, lovely service. I would recommend going for a huge pizza with seperate toppings to share rather than individual as my individual this time was soggy and unappealing. However, we have been multiple times and shared a large and it has been delicious. Lovely choice of beers, local as well. Delicious.

This is a great pizza place. The staff are welcoming, the food uses good quality ingredients, and the owner is passionate about food, done right and is authentic in what he is doing. Too many places of this size knock out bland, anglicized pizzas. These are Italian in their approach, simple ingredients that do not need to be in your face to be flavoursome. I always chose a margarita for my first visit to any pizza place - if they can do that well, the others will most likely be good as well. The standard sized pizza on hand stretched sour dough was a generous size, the large is a monster, at least 20" and a really impressive beast. They do something really sensible with the large pizzas, they treat it is quarters and you can have different topping on each quarter. Unless you have an unhealthy sized appetite, these large ones are for sharing the quarters approach reduces the risk of arguments and maximises the opportunity to try different toppings. The whole place is clean, well presented and feels good. What really impressed me was the fact that this place not only serves good honest food they do it with honesty and integrity. The group on the table next to me were also newbie to the place and they order two of the large. This was a mother, grandmother and two small kids. The Owner spotted that this was likely to be too much food and rather than cashing in on the order he sent over the large pizza serving board to show how big they really are. Needless to say, they reduced the order to one large and a standard. I left before they finished but I am beating there was at least half the big pizza left when they were stuffed. I will definitely be returning when I am in the area. Thanks for a great meal.

Hmmm Let me tell you a story.... Ordered food for a takeaway at 17:40 - told collection can be at 18:42 so an hour to get the food ready. Three Pizzas a garlic bread and some pesto mayo. £50+ Arrived at the pizzeria at 18:35 - At 18:44 told another 5 to 10 mins. 19:00 Still waiting - but kitchen does not seem busy 19:10 Order arrives - given a £20 gift voucher - Thinks must be for the delay. Get home - phone call - "You didn't pay enough" "???? I paid up front" "Not for the gift voucher" "I didn't ask for one I thought it was because you got my food over 30 mins late" "No - please send me a picture of the torn up voucher" "!!!!!!" So poor service and an irritating attitude. Not a happy family!

Such a lovely meal and excellent service from Roy. . Gf and vegan pizza for my son was excellent and the pizza we shared was HUGE and delicious. We will 100% be going again.

Great spot to share a large pizza. Excellent choice of toppings. Nice friendly staff. Hand stretched dough which you can see from the tables which is nice.

10 of us had an evening birthday party here. Great time - quality of the pizzas, comfort of the venue, and the friendly & efficient service. Outstanding - we really recommend this restaurant. Class !

We were recommended this Pizzeria by a friend, and were not disappointed. We had walked past the previous night - Saturday - and it was crowded out, but on the Sunday evening it was very quiet - mainly takeaways, I think! The three of us shared a giant 20" pizza with the different toppings - an excellent idea so we could have most of what we wanted and sample two other varieties! It was a pity there wasn't a salad option, but our pizzas were wonderful - full of flavour, beautifully cooked, by far the best we have tasted in Stroud.

Incredible sourdough pizza (We had the Noah's Ark), fantastic service and just a lovely atmosphere to have dinner in. I couldn't recommend enough and will be returning asap.

Fabulous! This place is just what Stroud needed. Interior is very modern with not a hint of red check anywhere. Service is fast and everything is fresh. Food was great, generous with the toppings. Will be going back soon. One criticism though....put the prices of the wine on your menu.

Clean, well presented restaurant and we were greeted warmly. Varied selection of pizzas that were all enticing ! Managed to decide and it was literally the best pizza I’ve ever had. The toppings were generous but not overbearing (walnut, Gorgonzola, artichoke, pesto); everything tasted so fresh and the base was crisp and delicious. I can’t wait to try out more ! Nice sounding sides LV offer too. There were quite a lot of children there (including ours) so it might be nice to add a children’s menu. The wine (Pecorino) was excellent also. All in all fully recommended.

Have frequently used the delivery and collection service of Fat Toni’s before and have always had a great experience. When we found out that they had opened a new restaurant next door when knew we had to visit. The service was excellent and the food great as always. Nothing better than having pizza fresh out of the oven Will definitely be visiting again soon.

I love this place, and even better now that it has an actual restaurant....my previous best pizza was in Sicily, and this is right up there with it. The ingredients are what make it I think, and the prices are very good. I can't believe people would go next door instead, to the "dice" for stodgy, horrible pizza!

Always go to Fat Toni's when ordering a takeaway pizza. Even better now that they have a new restaurant in Stroud where you can eat in and relax. Pizza was perfect as always. Not forgetting the Wholley Gelato ice cream for dessert! Absolutely delicious! Can't wait to go again, would highly recommend.

I was pretty excited about trying the pizza due to the fantastic reviews. The staff were good, the wine was delicious and the restaurant was actually slick, clean and cosy. The only fault was the pizza. It was pretty bad. The cheese tasted cheap, but the worst thing was the dough. The dough was very tough, like eating clay. I think they cook the bases before hand and reheat them with toppings on top. Im not sure but it certainly seems that way. I’ve had better pizzas from Tesco

Very excited to order Fat Toni's pizza. We ordered 2 large pizzas and they were such a disappointment! We had to put them in the oven to actually cook properly and reheat as they were soggy and cold. Vegetarian pizzas had good toppings but the meat ones were very basic. Considering we paid over 50 pounds for them, total rip off. Very disappointed as when Fat Toni's first opened they were always amazing, won't be ordering again.

Wrong order received again and was cold again, arrogant bloke on the phone who couldn’t be bothered to sort the issue out. Had to get a refund from Just Eat and ordered a dominos instead.

Overpriced, undercooked, took ages to be cooked and genuinely think this place takes the fast out of fast food. The service here is worse than dominos next door with one simple difference, dominos tastes way better. The place was chronically understaffed and not up to a standard that sets an impression you would expect from somewhere that so say offers authentic Italian food.

Ordered a Vegan Margarita and Vegan Cheesey bread, easy to order on line and was ready at the agreed collection time but the garlic bread was so salty it was inedible and the pizza base was so soggy it was unpleasant. We ended up paying £37.00 for 1 slice of garlic bread and 2 slices of pizza each, the rest went straight in the bin! Very very disappointed.

Seen this posted before. When phone ordering for collecting and asking when reedy and told 10 minutes. Actually they don’t start making it until you arrive - so still waiting, and one not happy partner in car……hopefully the quality makes up for it.

Ordered via Just Eat. £35 for 1 pizza. After 90 mins I rang up and was told the app was faulty and even though the money was taken, they hadn't received the order. I emailed Just Eat and ordered food elsewhere. The pizza then turned up completely cold with tinned mushrooms 🤮 so they obviously had received the order and were talking nonsense. Awful food, really expensive for the quality and wasted fortune ordering another meal as they told me a load of nonsense when the food was so late that I called to chase it. Horrendous

We spent over £35 for pizzas which were nearly cold, hard and chewy. We will not buy takeout again. Very disappointed that I did not even receive a reply to my email about it. An apology would have been good and kept my custom.

Great tasting pizza and excellent value for money. It is our favourite take away in Stroud. Speed of delivery does depend on how busy they are, but pizza is always hot when it arrives.

Small but great menu, with something for everyone. Starters really tasty and the main depth of flavour gorgeous. Great wine by the glass. Service was effiicient and friendly.

Took just under two hours to deliver our almost £80 order. Need to sort out time management and customer service. Pizza’s were awesome but 2 hours is ridiculous, particularly with no warning at the time of ordering.

Was told it was an hour wait for delivery which is fairly standard for them. I've eaten here a few times before so reconmended it to my family. We ordered and after it was 45 mins late phoned up (not easy as phone always busy), they had got the address wrong but didn't bother phoning to ask or check. Terrible customer service, didn't offer to make it priority or help just "would you like a refund", unfortunately won't be trusting them again with a order that matters when I have freinds/family over.

Firstly their website was playing up so rang up, placed order over the phone and my card number was read back to me over the phone including code on back clearly within ear shot of others. This is unacceptable. Was told payment accepted so waited an hour for the pizza to turn up and was presented with a receipt that said declined to a card that isn't even mine. The bank clearly showed the money debited so had had to report the transaction as fraud so I hopefully get my money back. No pizza was given. I have had to use a competitor to have a pizza now as I have been messed about for over an hour. Was fobbed off with excuses by the manager who said he was too busy to ring me in case of problems and “lesson learned” and “must have been someone else's card that was declined” you have now lost a very regular customer because of the stunt that was pulled tonight. I would now sooner pay more and have the not as nice to eat dominos than be ripped off by someone who's business you have been loyal to since they opened.

Siempre escuché grandes cosas sobre Fat Toni y finalmente decidí intentarlo. Mi novio es intolerante a la lactosa y siempre lucha por encontrar lugares que hagan pizza con un queso decente sin lácteos. No tengo intolerancias y, aunque la pizza que teníamos no tenía lácteos, estaba absolutamente deliciosa. Sin duda, una de las mejores pizzas que tuvimos en mucho tiempo. Coberturas generosas con una base crujiente y delgada. Definitivamente vamos a ordenar de nuevo.

¡Acabamos de visitar el nuevo sitio de Fat Tonis en Stroud y la piza era encantadora, pero la chica que tomó nuestro pedido luego procedió a poner ingredientes en la pizza sin guantes, luego se limpió las manos en su camiseta y volvió a manejar el dinero y escribir pedidos!

Al igual que con cualquier otra entrega, es mejor que recoja y se lleve a casa para comer rápidamente. Se ofrecen 2 costras de masa agridulce, ambas buenas. La salsa básica es lo que uno espera en una pizza al estilo de Nueva York de calidad. Las pizzas básicas del menú son buenas y el orden personalizado de sus ingredientes le da exactamente lo que desea. ¿Hay mejores pizzas para comer en el área de Stroud? Several visits have always provided authentic Italian pizzas with a lovely, thin, delicious base (though they do offer the thicker Americal bases if you prefer). Best take-away pizzas in the area.

Home away from home and we wanted a pizza ... this isn’t some chain rubbish this is arrive and place an order and wait for your pie. You can do online ordering but we showed up and a few minutes later had a nice pizza

I have travelled to Italy many times and I can honestly say this is an Italian Pizza! Forget others if you live in Stroud! The large pizza is plenty for two people... the ghost jam is sweet and hot. We had a large Yankee and regular Dante level 4 ... too much food so plenty of left overs! Stone baked base was lovely! Thank you ... lovely treat!

I love Fat Toni's pizzas. The bases are delicious and the toppings are sublime. That they deliver where others fear to tread is the icing on the (pizza) cake.

Fat Toni's need to be good with several other Pizza outlets on their doorsteps, and they are. Wonderful range of options and all the toppings and variety of bases that I've tried taste amazing.

Oh Dios mío, prueba un Fat Tonis si te gusta la pizza. Es tan sabroso, no soy un fanático de la comida rápida, pero esta pizza es tan auténtica y deliciosa. Nos sentamos y comimos el nuestro en el coche ya que olía tan bien que no podíamos esperar hasta llegar a casa.

Si te gusta tu pizza cerca del estilo de Nueva York, Fat Toni's es. En el lado negativo, a veces contestan el teléfono. La mayoría de las veces no lo hacen. Hay que ir allí para pedir y esperar. Son rápidos, pero la corteza no está completamente cocida como debería.

We had a large 4- way pizza (4topoings) delivered to our door at super time and so fresh.

My Arthur likes to tell me every time we visit that he once visited Ischia. It’s deeply annoying. Fat Toni’s pizza is still, however, absolutely the best around.

Have wanted to order from this place for years so finally got around to it. The delivery was excellent and well under an hour, but then we did order early in the evening. I forgot to tip the delivery person so I feel bad about that. The pizza was absolutely enormous.

We always order pizza here but I thought because delivery is at least 1h 30 mins we are going to collect it from the shop and it was exactly the same , even saying we are gonna collect it by 8 it was late , and the chef broke the pizza and he had to bake another one , just terrible service.

Another order from them (probably our 5th in the year) and as always the food was spot on. We new that there would likely be a drlivery delay but there always is a wait on a sat evening.

Can't fault the pizza here, especially if you go for the double toppings option. I've have had about 5 from them so far and they never disappoint. Great crust, fresh toppings, all freshly made. Probably the closest thing you'll get to a real Italian pizza in this part of the UK. Highly recommended, especially the 20", which you can split up to 4 ways if you like, for better value than 2 medium pies.

Fabulous pizza. Exceptional quality and some are the size of a small duvet!! Lots of choice and always cooked to perfection. Delivery has always been consistent and within the given time parameters. Efficient and professional taking phone orders. Love the pizzas and has always been constitent.

I ordered pizzas for the family 2 x Large (very big) plus one other and although the taste was good they arrived stone cold and chewy, this is the second time we have ordered and both times the delivery took two hours and no apology, in essence over priced and over cooked avoid.

Pizzas are usually great but the deliveries are getting slower and slower. So far been waiting 1.5hrs, called 20 minutes ago to chase but still not arrived. Wont be ordering from then again. Shame

Ordered a small pizza and waited 2 & 1/2 hours altogether before cancelling our order. We rang and they reassured our pizza would be 5 minutes, so we waited on the street in the cold for an additional hour. No phone call. No pizza, not even a refund. Nothing. Extremely poor service considering the price. Not worth the time or money.

Really great take-out pizzas. Perfect for lazy evenings in front of the TV or for entering groups of teens.

Went a couple of weeks ago and as this is the second disappointing visit we won't be going again.

We keep going back but this will probably be the last time. There's nothing wrong with the pizzas but we've ordered pizzas with different toppings for three or four occasions and they're just not different enough. When fat tonis first opened the pizzas had fresh ingredients and really seemed like something new. However, you can order two different toppings and they look identical apart from very minor details such as tiny pieces of frankfurter or miniscule pieces of ham. Four levels of hot pizzas seems to be identical pizzas with the hotness coming from how much chilli jam you put on top. Where's the fresh basil and other fresh toppings gone? Just looks like a standard pizza with cheese nowadays. Used to be a cut above dominoes but for the money they cost I'm not sure they're worth it.

Unassuming, perfectly suited for Stroud, if you didn't know it was there you probably wouldn't have noticed but onece you know you can't help but notice, perfect pizza everytime, the mother they use is supposed to be 500 years old, we had the crispy sourdough pizza recently snd it was something else, couldn´t recommend it enough!

San Fran sourdough bread base, and totally fab toppings - a little piece of Tuscany in Stroud! This is an awesome place.

We have had many fat Toni's pizzas and it never disappoints. Iberian is always a good choice and the sour dough base makes it extra delicious. Service is always spot on, prices are very reasonable but delivery can sometimes take up to 1.5 hours on a Saturday night but it's still worth the wait. Recommend to all!!

Everyone says it, and they are to be believed, this is the best pizza you will get in the area, truly wonderful and delicious. It may be more expensive than the local kebab place, but the quality and flavour is 10x better. My partner doesn't like pizza but will eat one from Fat Toni's. Cannot wait for the sit down restaurant to open.

Staying in a holiday cottage in Stonehouse we weren't sure what to do for food on the first night we arrived, and luckily there was a menu for Fat Toni's at the holiday let. The selection of pizzas offered is extensive and delicious, and the delivery service quick, efficient and very friendly. Such good value for money, I would definitely use again when in the area.

Since Fat Toni's opened I do not get pizza anywhere else - iunless I make it. The sourdough base is tops, and my favourite is the Quattro Stagioni. The customer care is the best ever.
