Went for roast dinner on a Sunday as a solo trip - Pros - 1. Good service 2. Dessert size was good Cons - 1. Overpriced roast dinner - £19.95 I think 2. Roasts appeared to be aunt bessies or something similar 3. Could do with another veg adding on as not much variety I’ve been here before and it was excellent and would return for the dinner menu but the roast dinner I would unfortunately not have again.

Lovely dog friendly pub. Went for late lunch after a walk in Royden Park. Ordered several "small" plates which were as generous as a normal portion. Every one well presented and delicious and served by a friendly member of staff who even provided dog treats.

We went to the Farmers Arms for a Sunday Roast. We were shown a table next to a riotous family celebration which was very noisy. We requested another table and we were given a table under a tv. We were asked for our drink requirement, which was quickly brought to us. We ordered our meals which were quickly delivered, perhaps too quickly because it was cold/tepid. We refused the meal and it was returned to the kitchen. The replacement meal was brought and was a more acceptable temperature but not of a good quality. It comprised a thin dry chicken breast, lots of carrots (acceptable) shredded cabbage (no flavour) roast potatoes which had a mushy centre with fibrous skin (not crispy) and inedible Yorkshire pudding. No stuffing No sausage. So not what I would call a Sunday Roast Lunch. We were given a discount of £4:00. Which in no way was compensation for such a pathetic meal. I would not recommend this pub for anything other than a drink.

Absolutely fantastic Excellent environment, especially the beautiful beer garden, friendly service (think our server was called Freya, she was so sweet and very helpful), great menu with lots of choices. We will definitely go again.

Haven’t been to this pub for years. Have now visited twice , Saturday and the Bank Holiday Monday. Pub itself is very nice , attractive garden area and a bit of equipment for the kids to play on. We thought the drinks were reasonably priced and the food too. What lets it down though , and I’m sorry to say this , is the staff, mainly the bar men. No greeting , no smile absolutely zero interaction. We spent considerable amounts on both occasions , and we will return , but maybe a little lesson in customer service wouldn’t go amiss.

I rang to book a table as it was the first time taking my partner out after a stroke in April and he is in a wheelchair. I was told I could not book a table as it was a first come service. We sat outside as it was a beautiful day , after being outside for a couple of hours we decided to go and sit on the decking , what a mistake with a wheelchair. The access was round the side of the pub we had to pull open a firedoor that was very heavy towards the chair and got stuck , then I had to get the chair over a door frame while holding the door. We ended up inside a tight area by the toilets to have to go over another door frame. My partner I'd 6ft 4in and being in a wheelchair chair quite heavy. Finally got into the bar to find a big step to get out onto the decking. A staff member asked if he could step out of the chair and step over the step then the chair could be lifted over. Well no he can't he's had a major stroke and can't stand or walk unaided. We then spoke to another staff member who just said oh well you will have to sit else where. Again we had to do the dreaded trip back to the outside. Very unfriendly wheel chair access Very unhelpful staff Very sad as this was our first visit away from the hospital since April. My partner is only 53 and just wanted to feel he was part of society again.

Decided to give the Farmers Arms a try for lunch as it’s somewhere I pass regularly and they’ve clearly made some effort with the place. To be fair it’s been nicely decorated and the gardens are lovely. However, from walking in the man behind the bar seemed uninterested, except when reminding me to pick a ‘tip’ option with the two pints I bought. Then, he did same again when we ordered food. We selected two club sandwiches from the ‘large plates’ section and assumed they’d come with a few chips if they were ‘large’. They didn’t, so for £13.50 all we got was a toasted sandwich. All told, more than £40 for two toasted sandwiches and two pints, with a grumpy barman taking his 15% tip upfront. With so many other options for lunch, I’d suggest you try somewhere else in future. I know I will.

Came here last night with my girlfriend as it had been recommended by a friend. It is very cosy place in amazing surroundings. The staff were very welcoming and polite. We both had a burger which were delicious and well cooked and presented. The Eton mess I had for dessert was freshly made and delicious too. Overall a brilliant first visit and will definitely return again.

We came here for a late birthday meal and it was a lovely experience all round. We were seated very quick and asked what drinks we wanted which were delivered very fast too! We ordered our meal with our lovely waitress Sabrina. Our food was delivered very fast about 10/15 minutes and then we were checked on multiple times which was amazing! Sabrina then very kindly helped us decide, when she was clearing our plates, that our 3 year old had eaten enough to go outside and play. She went above and beyond! Thank you to everyone!

Havent been to the Farmers since it was refurbished so decided to give it a try with my wife. Interior is really nice and like the new layout for the bar and service was really good. Food is amazing. Hot wings are the best in West Kirby and probably on par to the wings I have had in the States. I had a burger for my mains and my wife had fish and chips. Both meals were delicious and we have booked to go again!

Fine but another place now blatantly trying to get you to tip with every card transsction. It's just off putting and ruins a nice experience. Why do they do this.

We visited the Farmer’s on Saturday night and owing to the rugby on TV it was busy. We are regulars here so knew what to expect but the offer of two courses plus a bottle of wine for £25 per head was too good to turn down. In fact, it was our second go in the month! I had the Japanese prawns in tempura batter with a dip and it was yummy. Whilst my wife opted for fish and chips for her main course, I decide on the Farmer’s Pie. It turned out I had a choice of three, lamb, chicken and cheese and onion. Much to my wife’s surprise I chose the cheese and onion and it was such a good decision! The pie was superb, the pastry thin, the taste really subtle and with the carrots, mash and broccoli an absolute delight! I would really recommend the Farmer’s if you’ve not been and try the food, you won’t regret it!

Our first time here and we loved everything about it. Staff friendly and helpful. The food absolutely delicious. We had fish and chips and it was the best we’ve eaten for a long time. The food going to other tables all looked delicious. The restaurant was very welcoming and traditional style with a lovely open fire which was appreciated at this time of year. Looking forward to coming back here.

I went The Farmers Arms with my two daughters and our little dog. I decided to have a small beef roast as I am unable to eat a large portion, I had no fuss in ordering this (unlike a Toby Carvery) and I managed to eat it all which is unusual for me, just the right amount of meat, vegetables and gravy. This was the best roast I've had in a pub restaurant. We were greeted by the concierge with a smile and was directed to our table, then Yasmin welcomed herself and took our drinks order along with her recommendations for dinner, there was no annoyance from waiting on staff every 5 minutes, they were so kind and delightful to us, especially taking care of our little Yorkshire Terrier with a bowl of water too and making a fuss of her. There was also a singer playing from 1pm which is a really nice touch. I especially loved the log fire on a cold autumn afternoon. I will defiantly be going back.

The food wasn’t that good. We ordered Butter chicken and it was like there is a taste of cheese on it, I really didn’t like it. The biryani was good but not great. The tandoori was really good! Just for the owner: please if you can put yogurt with cucumbers on the side with the Biryanis like all the Indian restaurants do that would be great! Will I come back? Nah.
