We had a lovely overnight stay at Farington Lodge Hotel - the food, service and the hotel itself exceeded our expectations. Very dog friendly.

We booked The Farington Lodge for the night our son and his wife got married as a present for them. They both said how amazing it was, so we thought we'd give it a try ourselves. It didn't disappoint. We only booked one night(a Saturday) but could have stayed more. The hotel was fully booked as there was a murder mystery night taking place. I was a little worried about this, thinking it may be a little noisy, especially when guests were retiring to their rooms at the end of the evening. But it wasn't. I had the best night sleep. It's such a quiet hotel. The location, rooms, staff, food and value for money were all amazing. There was one gentleman in particular,( we didn't get his name,an older gentleman) who looked after us at dinner , he was really good. He was so attentive without being intrusive . He really looked after us. Thank you so much, we will definitely be back

I'm writing this on behalf of partner Nick Fulcher. We stayed here 233rd and 24th Sept 2024. Hotel needs a bit of TLC. Staff were friendly and helpful however. Josh, restaurant manager (I think) was very good. Bedroom was good with nice view of garden and wildlife. But was really quite chilly. Heating hadn't been turned on yet. Bathroom was warm as it had a heated towel rail! Felt a little unsafe getting in and out of bath/shower as nothing to hold on to! But still think hotel deserved 4* as the staff made us feel comfortable there.

Came here for a work function but didn't stay over. The room was just right for us and we had some food on. The staff were lovely and couldn't do enough for us. I can't score the room in terms of staying over so gave a 3 out of 5 to be fair. The road outsides busy but the Lodge is set back away and you don't even notice once your within the grounds. The setting is really nice I was just commenting on how it would be good for a wedding venue when I walked past a room setup for a wedding!

Lovely surroundings. Service attentive, spot on. Room nice but very plain and was very dark, with poor net curtains and immovable standard curtains.

We held our daughter's wedding reception at Farington Lodge and could not have been happier with the whole planning process and the day itself. The staff were always helpful, cheerful and welcoming. Jennifer Crewe, the wedding coordinator, was always quick to respond to enquiries, and her expertise helped us to plan the perfect day. Everybody at the reception commented on the beautiful location, the friendly staff and the fantastic and abundant food. The room (the Jubilee Suite), looked fabulous and the facilities were all great. The photographer and his partner were well looked after, and loved the location for picture opportunities. Importantly, the Bride and Groom were completely happy with their big day, so we would not hesitate to recommend Farington Lodge as a wedding venue.

Five stars all round, a lovely hotel, beautiful gardens and the squirrels were entertaining(although difficult to photograph!) Breakfast was tasty and plentiful and the young waiting staff very helpful. The bedroom was very spacious and the bed comfortable. The hotel is easily accessible from the motorway but the environment is quiet and peaceful. We had an enjoyable 4 days at the hotel and would recommend.

I stayed here for 2 nights recently, while revisiting my hometown. My room was large and comfortable (though a little smelly when I first arrived - drains ?) and the staff were attentive and friendly. I only ate breakfast here, which was very good for the price. However the breakfast service ends at 08:30 Mon - Fri - which is far too early in my opinion - as the assumption is that everyone is there on business midweek. I was not working and neither were many of the other guests. This is more of a "leisure" hotel than a business hotel, and so guests should be able to enjoy a "leisurely" (i.e. later) breakfast - at least until 09:30am ! The grounds are lovely and the main hotel quite grand, though now rather tired and in need of a refresh. All in all it is very good value for money. I was disappointed however by the rather basic amenities provided in the room e.g. one, wall-fixed, "all-in" soap dispenser for face, body and hair; one plastic glass; only two towels and no face cloth; thief-proof hangers; and windows that cannot be fully opened (for "health & safety reasons" i.e. to prevent pilfering !) I understand this is a deliberate choice by the owners in order to keep costs and therefore room rates down, and they haven't raised their prices for a while. This is admirable but the very basic amenities are not in keeping with the style and grandeur of the hotel and its' grounds - it is not a Premier Inn ! I, and I'm sure most others, would be happy to pay a little more in order to cover the costs of these small 'luxuries'. An extra £5 - £10 per night would easily cover the costs of these items, likely improve profits for the company, and make for a more enjoyable stay for all guests.

Very comfortable room with excellent space for us and our small spaniel. Good facilities and able to take the dog with us to breakfast - in a separated dining area. Would certainly stay again.

Stay for 3 nights this BH weekend due to supporting a 2 day BBQ festival 15 mins away from the hotel. A really lovely building and some original features inside. From arriving and departing the team were so welcoming…. made sure you had everything you needed and are a real credit that should be praised. The breakfast area was superb, freshly baked pastries, fruit, yoghurt and cereal. Great choice on the menu, obviously both mornings I chose the traditional full English which was superb. I stayed in room 22 , lovely and spacious, a couple of good sized arm chairs, comfy bed and a good bathroom area. Highly recommended…. Well done all. Thanks and see you again.

The lodge was very conveniently located just off the M6. The room, executive double, was more than big enough with good storage and a lovely bathroom. The bar area was great and had a decent choice of drinks. Even though the hotel had a wedding on, they accommodated our small group in a quiet room for dinner and it was excellent. What made the whole stay was the staff. They were friendly and efficient, nothing was too much trouble. It was really nice to see a predominately young staff who appeared to enjoy their work and this came across in the experience we had.

First time stay, didn't know what to expect but blown away. Room was spacious and actually had the same number of seats for the number of quests, no need to sit awkwardly on the bed. Space enough to still play with the pooch. Staff were fantastic and went above and beyond to help us and spoilt our daughter, granddaughter and the dog.

I stayed at the lodge recently for a 2 night visit. I was greeted with a warm welcome and the room was immaculately clean and comfortable. The room was a good size, but the bathroom was huge. And I had a room key. An actual key. It was great as I could leave a device on charge while I was out. Such a novelty these days! The facilities were all appropriate for the venue - not too modern, but also not lacking anything you’d expect from a nice hotel. The breakfast was stunning. Fresh hot pastries, and locally sourced bacon, sausage left me rather full but very happy. All the staff were excellent - even the night porter was extremely friendly!!

Food arrived over one hour late, we had to keep calling. When the food eventually arrived it was a greasey mess. Fish completely overcooked, chips not great. We ordered gravy which was disgusting… complete waste of money.
