This is the third time iam experiencing same trouble while ordering food from your restaurant. I always order the food wait for an hour sometimes you’ll deliver the wrong food or some times no food at all .

One of my item is missing I called to family choice, but they didn’t respond politely , and they refused to send it back

The masala dosa was amazing ! Gulag jamun and rasgulla were tasty and delicious but the problem with onion Bhaji it was messed up I don’t know how even though they packed in proper box

The delivery driver was grumpy and complaining about difficulty of finding the house. No other driver had any issues!

Less quantity of paneer in the biryani

I have order chicken kothu rotti today. Very bad quality.chicken is not freshly cooked( dry pieces). And taste is also not good , not at all satisfied with it. Quantity is also not sufficient for even one person. I don't recommend.

Despite being a bit fraction late , the amount of food for such a small order portion size was amazing im a big eater and the price also was good 👍

Ordered Vegetable Koththu Rotti & Egg Curry & they were fantastic. The rotti is a meal in itself, packed with flavours & the egg curry was rich, earthy, sour & hot, infused with curry leaves, delicious. Probably the best takeaway I've had in Cardiff.

Too spicy. Not family friendly order to be honest. I respect that it’s traditional cuisine but I won’t ordering again.

The taste and the quality of the food were good. Except for the fact that they ran out of the items that we actually ordered and we weren’t served with proper replacements, everything else was good. If they don’t have an item they should remove the item from the online menu so that there won’t be any difficulties for the people who order online.

Food was spicy and tasty but a bit dry could have done with some sauce. I got a call to say that one of my items was not available, the alternative was £8 cheeper but when I asked for a refund for the £8 I was cut off.

Really, really good food. Packed full of flavour and very spicy, everything I’ve dived exceeded expectations. The best Sri Lanka food I’ve eaten outside of the country itself, really couldn’t fault anything and can’t wait to order from here again. Would give 7 stars if I could.

Chicken biryani was very spicey and came with no curry sauce. 6 piece onion bajie was a bowl of bits of fried onion and no salad.

The chutney had gone off and was smelling foul. It wasn’t good at all

They didn't have two of the dishes, but did ring and offer swaps. So fantastic value and I've just had some for breakfast!

Excellent food and large portions for the price.

This order was wrongly supplied by the vendor. The mutton rolls were correctly supplied. The vendor was meant to supply Veg Rolls. Instead they supplied Spring Rolls, and tried to mis-sell these as Veg rolls. The two are very different. The vendor also supplied Kadlai Vadai instead of Ulunthu vadai. The restaurant had called soon after I ordered and had said they ran out of Ulunthu vadai- I agreed for this to be replaced by Veg Roll- this was also not done correctly ad I was supplied with Kadlai Vadai. I am quite aggrieved by the whole matter. Additionally, the order delivery time was revised twice (8.35-8.55 pm, then 9.05-9.25pm and then again 9.45pm-10.05 pm). The Just Eat app showed that the driver was waiting at the restaurant from 9pm- the restaurant staff denies this. The order was finally delivered at 9.48pm. The restaurant alleges that the driver was never there. Somebody is lying, and that makes me very unhappy again.

Original delivery time was 5.40pm. food came at 7.25pm. one of the box was open and food spilled all over the bag. Food was not hot too. Guessing the restaurant must have packed half of the food early and waited for the other half to be packed. Total disappointment. Never again from this place.

The delivery guy was rude. He kept the parcel out in rain near the main gate of my accommodation. I requested him to wait near the shed for 3 minutes, as it takes that much of time for me to reach the gate. He kept the parcel and was leaving.

The food was delicious !! By far, this is the closest I’ve got to an authentic South Indian flavoured meal in Cardiff. Loved it!

The food arrived late and, as a result, was stone cold. The deviled paneer was tasty but the lamb biryani was terribe-fatty, chewy mutton and dry rice. Really disappointing. Also, be warned, the spice level is high.

AWFUL. I am not sure on what happened to this restaurant. One of the dosa's was burnt. There was no salt in the chutney's. Not worth it.

Really poor food and not normal standard - apart from chicken curry - everything was really watery and tasteless. disappointed to say the least

Food tasted great, lentils were a little undercooked in the chutney, if food was hotter then it would have commanded a better score, the samba had leaked out in to the main container, chicken curry was very tasty, tasted as if they used a fish stick rather than a meat stock,. I rather enjoyed that though.

Honestly one of the best takeaways I’ve had in a very long time, fresh, tasty and such good value for money. The chicken Devil was delicious... hot though!! Would love a milder version on the menu as my tongue was on fire but it was so delicious I had to carry on eating lol!

This food was AMAZING! I am half srilankan and often go back to visit my family who all still live there and cook great srilankan food for me, but I still think this is one of the best meals I have ever had! So authentic and delicious. Thank you!

We ordered a vegetarian dish (stringhoppers) which was excellent. The chicken used in the dishes have to be the worst I've ever had - especially the one in the chicken curry. Kid you not it tasted like rock (clearly the chicken was frozen or out of date) and was hard to even chew. Unfortunately the lid on one of the curries wasn't placed correctly and had leaked.

Prompt delivery (They have improved on this & found my place without issues.) Courteous & safe delivery. Food very well packaged, clean & fresh, hot & delicious & portion sizes always great value for money. The curries could use a little less oil. Thank you for heeding previous feedback on reducing the salt. I'm not SriLankan but your food always satisfies my cravings for comforting & filling home cooking. In addition to my usual, I tried the chicken samosa & fried chicken curry, which were lovely & not dry. Highly recommend!

First thing, delicious!! This tastes like real authentic Sri Lankan food from back home. The food was hot and prepared to perfection. I cannot believe how affordable all the items were and the size of the portions were huge. I would highly recommend this place and I will definitely be ordering again! :)

We knew from reviews and from friends' experiences that Family Choice deliveries were often late. As such, we decided to order early (6pm) to allow for this. Just Eat told us the meal would arrive at 7.15pm, which was fine. At 7.30pm, Family Choice phoned to say the delivery driver had broken down due to a flat tyre, but that the manager was on his way to pick up the food from him and would be with us in "20 minutes max." We said this was fine and we thought it was great communication! We were happy to wait until 8pm. At 8.30pm, I phoned to ask for an update. Family Choice told me they'd check with the manager and call me back. They didn't, so I called again at 8.40pm. They laughed (at length) when I expressed frustration and then offered me a bottle of coke for my trouble! I said it wasn't good enough. They said, "the manager will come out now, so it will be 20 minutes max" - which is what they'd said over an hour before, so it didn't make sense to me. I reiterated that it wasn't okay and that I wanted a refund, which they refused to entertain. They eventually arrived just after 9pm, with free coke and wine (that we didn't want). The food was lukewarm and there was a piece of plastic in one of the dishes. We would have appreciated honesty from Family Choice - just tell us what the actual situation is! If they can't manage the orders, they shouldn't accept them. They are well known for this, it seems!

Good food, but delivery times have been terrible everytime I've ordered. Consistently late and over the estimated time by over 30 - 60mins. Disappointing given how good the food is.

Food took nearly 2 hrs, there were a couple of items not available and when I contacted the place to ask where the order was, after 1hr45m, there was no apology and they seemed surprised that I was even calling. Food isn't particularly good.

Great food. Pol sambol reminded me of home! This will be my regular go to place when i crave Lankan food.

The food was amazing!! Really authentic, fresh and flavourful, the only downside was the late delivery time. It seems like a small family owned business and authentic Sri Lankan restaurants are few in Cardiff so I’m willing to overlook that and will definitely be ordering again - just factor a long wait in mind when you’re ordering and you’ll be so glad you did! :)
