If you are looking for a good fry up with lovely staff this is it!!! The food is great and fab value!!! EVERY member of staff is amazing and can't do enough for you :) With a DOG FRIENDLY conservatory this place really does tick all of our boxes... can't wait to go again!!

Staff first class and polite, had a few breakfasts here lately and could not fault them. Decided to have a dinner Lamb was beautiful but left the veg, struggled to cut it and no flavour roast spuds not very warm and hard on outside, It is a shame as the last time i came so will not return

Don’t judge a book by its cover. Really nice food, big portions and great menu. Just what you need for a nice meal. It’s nothing fancy to look and you may need wellies to dodge the pot holes outside but it’s worth it. Only comment would be to have more space getting into your chair as it’s very tight.

Have visited here a few times and the breakfast is consistently good. The staff are friendly and the diner is clean.

Well worth a visit if you are looking for a place to have a family lunch or breakfast, The manager and all staff are very accommodating and even if busy will make sure there is somewhere for you to sit ( not usually that easy for a family of 2 adults and 3 kids) No problems parking either as there is a huge car park just outside. Never had a bad meal here and very reasonable prices.

went here as a group for a "full english" as we reguarly do at various cafes in the area. We saw the great reviews and decided to give it a try. I have to say we all thought it was pretty average.

Although this diner is not the most attractive looking place from the outside, the food available is wonderful, especially the puddings.

One if those odd moments where my wife and I both had some time free - impromptu lunch date - not disappointed! The decor is simple, but clean and spacious with plenty of parking. Service very good, plenty of choice on the menu. We both opted for the steak and stilton pie - beautifully cooked, and a proper pie! Well filled. Great value for money. We shall return - just to try the breakfast!

I was recommended this place by a friend. Well, there’s tonnes of parking, a great menu and the food was excellent. I had two visits, one was a fry up and was lovely, the second was a Chicken and ham pie which was very nice. Wife had lover and bacon which was very nice with nice size portions. Staff were excellent, polite, clean and very helpful. 10mins before closing, a guy walks in and orders a full roast. No issues or tutting a lovely diner delivered. I’ll be back!

We were recommended to this restaurant while my car was being fixed in Wickford it is situated opposite the golf course and sits just off the road so you might miss it but do pay it a visit the restaurant is situated in a barn effect with plenty of parking we were greeted by a friendly lady who served us drink and took our order which arrived very quickly piping hot I chose egg,bacon,tomatoes,black pudding and mushrooms and slice of bread my wife had the veggie option the food was very good no problems and the service was great definitely visit again

This place never fails to deliver, another excellent meal at fairways with the normal friendly service!

Good food at great prices. Whether a traditional fry up or a Sunday roast the food is always great and large portions.

My boyfriend highly rated this little gem of a place and how right he was, I am extremely fussy for breakfast food and I absolutely loved all of mine. My boyfriend had the Mega breakfast and he loved it, I made my own breakfast and it was brilliant. My new personal favourite for breakfast

This is the best cafe ever; with a fabulous fry up and choice of meals including a delicious lamb shank roast dinner, and many, many, many more choices.

It's not what you call upmarket..But the staff are lovely and the food is excellent.. Try their steak and kidney pie with roast potatoes and veg! What I call a real wholesome meal.. Haven't had one like that for years..been here quite a few times ..can't fault it!

Always get value for money here, food good and plenty of it, staff friendly and helpful.would recommend to anyone especially those with a healthy appetite.

Anyone travelling along Hullbridge Road may well have noticed the big posters advertising the fact that Fairways Diner now serves traditional Pie and Mash so i thought i would give it a try recently.

Had pie and mash this morning great food and the service from a very polite lad call nathan always a must when passing 👍👍👍

Fairways are serving Pie and Mash at lunchtimes on Saturdays and very nice it is too. Good food and service. Would recommend.

Just visited fairways diner for Sunday lunch , lamb rump roast absolutely lovely , excellent value for money best by far , great service excellent staff first class food .

I have been to this cafe many times for B/fast and Dinners there has never been a problem. Went today with my brother for lunch, I was very disappointed ordered Steak and kidney pudding with roast potatoes and veg, where to start !!!! Veg hard roast spuds over done and steak&Kidney pudding their was hardly and steak and pastry was hard.My brother said the same except his Chicken was OK.Apparently a new Chef has just started !!!! All the staff are helpful and friendly, i think i will give it a miss for a while .

I have been before and had large,but cheap quality, breakfast. It has been ok for the money. Today i tried jumbo cod with chips. It was a microwave piece of fish,mit screamed a steamed when i put vinegar on it, never seen that before. It was grosly overheated by microwave. It tasted terrible, i never made an issue with them as jumbo breakfasts are ok, as long as you accept that they use the cheapest ingredients available. It seems a bit overrated for a greasy spoon, maybe because they got an alcohol license. Never mind, if i want a cheap bacon breakfast fine, if i want food, i will go elsewhere. I was considering trying the pie and mash saturday special, i do not think so now, my microwave is not that powerful.

(Amy Jo Johnson) The Fairway Diner, Hullbridge I'm always on the lookout for somewhere new for a weekend breakfast, and had read good reviews of the Fairway Diner in Hullbridge, so one wet Sunday morning I gave it a try. The Fairway sits opposite the Rayleigh Golf Club, on Hullbridge Road, hence its name. It's located in a compound that looks to have once been a garden centre, but I may be mistaken, there's a large annexe across the front. I have to say, it was packed when I arrived, but I found a table and was promptly attended to. I ordered the 'Pig Out Breakfast' that comprised "Egg, Bacon, Sausage, Burger, chips, Beans, Hash Browns, Tomatoes and Mushrooms" with a slice of bread & butter and a mug of tea.I should have checked the menu more closely, when it arrived as there was no tomato or mushroom, and it's hash browns or chips. That said, it was all freshly cooked and tasty, a burger for breakfast was a new one on me, but it was all okay. Service was friendly and efficient. The place was still busy as I left. I might try them another time for Pie & Mash, but I'll give them a miss for breakfast.

Very friendly staff, great choice of food. The authenic pie and mash on saturdays is the best i have tasted out side of the eastend with REAL liquor. All at very reasonable prices. Pay a visit soon.

My parents used to go here every Sunday for breakfast, and whenever we visited we would be there too. Such great value and just simple basic, honest food. Only ever really had the breakfasts so can't comment on the rest, but the breakfast never disappoints!

After wining a raffle, we received a ticket for a three course lunch for two at the Fairway Dinner in Hillbridge Road, Rayleigh, Essex, and what a surprise we had, the service was excellent, the food was great and everything was a great experience and a big thank you to the dinner.

Excellent food friendly staff who offer great service excellent value for money. My family have been here quite a lot and have never had a fault the variety of food is excellent and the portions are large. The staff are very welcoming will be visiting again

My whole family have been eating breakfast here for years. Never had a bad experience and would always recommend anyone to go there for breakfast.

Visited the Fairway Diner today and was pleasantly surprised by the spacious outdoor and indoor seating facilities. The owner/ manager was very attentive and several staff members asked if we were being served as we waited for our drinks to arrive. The tea was warm and the latte was clearly out of a sachet but it wasn't a problem.Our breakfast arrived on what can only be described as bin lids the plates were so big. We were in for a treat and stuck right in. We paid 9 pounds for the breakfasts and we're worth the money. I didn't know if id visit again. Let's see.

We booked this restaurant for our family of ten, for Mothers Day lunch,we arrived on time and were immediately shown to our reserved table and our waitress soon arrived to take our drinks order followed by our orders for lunch from a large and varied menu. Our mixed family group opted for various choices all of which arrived beautifully presented and our plates brimming over with food. The food was piping hot and portions to say the least were huge. Following our lunches the majority of our party despite feeling more than bloated from the amount of food we had just eaten again opted for various desserts from again a very large choice, the pear and apple crumble being the favourite choice which I must say was not only again a very large portion but was absolutely delicious, fantastic food at a very reasonable price, great service and although the premises are not pretentious you will have to go a long way to find better value and better food,

We have been here a few times over the past few years and have NEVER been disappointed. The food is always delicious and the staff are always friendly and polite. Today was no exception.We are at around 1145 and it was steadily busy and yet the staff were still attentive. We ordered 2 veggie breakfasts, 1 milkshake, 1 tea and a coke. We also ordered a milk for my son and they warmed it no issues. The food was delivered quickly and was hot and tasty. Say no more. We had never previously ordered a dessert but today we did. 1 apple and cinnamon crumble with custard and sponge jam pudding with ice cream. Again.......delicious.The total price was £27 so pretty damn good for the food you eat.It's funny because if you look at the diner from the outside you'd would not be wrong in thinking this place looks underwhelming and not a place to eat.........How wrong you would be. #1 in the area.....spot on.......#1 in Essex? Maybe.Brilliant food, brilliant price, brilliant staff......brilliant.A line from The Terminator springs to mind......I'll be back.

Something really different, basic surroundings , friendly , great food and service and fun, highly recommended.

We've been going to Fairways for years. It is without a doubt the best cafe around this area! Everything on the menu you is tasty, well cooked and huge portions! If you have been for breakfast...you really should try it!!

I have been coming back to this diner for more than 16 years now! Always treated to great food and good friendly service. A good range of breakfasts to suit all tastes and levels of hunger. Pudding range tempting if you have enough room left in your tummy. Also great for times when you fancy a salad or roast and a catch up with friends. Summer or winter, this place is a low key gem. Come as you are and leave satisfied.

Good quality food served promptly and presented with care. This eatery thrives on consistently serving the same high quality food time after time. I have been eating here for years and aside from the high prices there really is nothing else to complain about.

This place serves the best breakfast in essex. From the all day to the mega, its real home cooked food, great portions, friendly efficient staff, i feel stuffed and satisfied whenever i visit.

You will not find a better breakfast in Essex .Its always consistently good and cooked fresh and washed down with a steaming cup of char you can't go wrong.

I'd heard good things about this place, wasnt quite expecting it to be nestled amongst shipping containers and other strange things, the place was lovely and clean and airy, the staff were exceptionally friendly and nice and the "Mega Fry up" (apprx 8 quid) was fantastic. next time i want to try their pie and mash!

Had an excellent 3 course Christmas meal with friends yesterday , staff helpful and attentive - nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely be returning - very soon!

A smashing establishment built up on word of mouth alone- breakfasts are a work of art and not lacking in size one bit. Once you have had a mega breakfast here you will be disappointed wherever else you go. A must-try!

Probably the best cafe in Essex! Staff are so nice and the food is delicious! Normally have the fry ups on a sun morning, but the mixed meat salad I had a couple of weeks back was lovely too!

You need to book or you will not get in {very popular}. The food is good, plenty of it and good quality as the owner has been in the food trade for a very long time. Very pleasant interior for what the building will allow.

First visit to the Fairway after reading the reviews. We were not dissapointed. Staff were friendly and jovial and our breakfast was excellent. Food was plentiful and hot and reasonably priced. Will definately be returning to try the homemade lunches. Try it.

Thank you for a fantastic afternoon! I requested to use the conservatory for a baby shower and it was lovely. They let us put up balloons and banners, were extremely attentive always checking to see everyone had enough to drink and everything was ok. The food was great, totally perfect. Thank you!

We are always served first class homemade food.The menu is extensive, the portions generous, the food delectable, the service friendly and quick.You will never eat alone here as it is a popular place to eat.If you are in the area make sure you eat here in this unpretentious diner, as we do.It is situated in a small industrial/ retail area.It is opposite the entrance to The Rayleigh Golf Club.

We regularly visit Fairways and every time we are served up a fantasitc proper English breakfast. Excellent friendly service. Great value !

We have been coming here on and off for the last 7 years, the staff are always very welcoming and helpful. The choices on the menu for such a small place are enormous as are the sizes of the meals. Have eaten here from breakfast and lunch and cannot fault anything. Only thing that would improve this place would be a redecoration to bring the main inside resturant up to date as it is very old fashioned, but this is the only thing that needs improving.The staff in the kitchen do a brilliant job as do the waitresses.

I went to fairways over the weekend and the place was booming! Great food, great staff and the chef is fantastic! The desserts are amazing. The bosses also made time to have a general chat. Weirdly enough i also see them serve someone's cat. The best place in the area by far.

Great place for a late full English on a weekend .. Hot food with mugs of tea. The place is a cross between a garden shed and workmans cafe ..but it does have a strange charm about it !! The staff are warm and friendly ... You certainly come away full ..well worth a visit

During the children's two weeks Easter holiday. My family and I decided to try Fairways diner which we had often seen as we drove past. It was very busy but the friendly staff quickly found us a table and gave us a warm welcoming. We got served very quickly and the food was very hot and delicious. Our family enjoyed it all and then we saw the cool cabinet filled with all fresh, homemade cakes and desserts Which we couldn't pass by and we had to order some to try.The Oreo cheesecake was very well decorated and tasted delicious that we wanted more. The children had the toffee popcorn cheese cake which had caramel in the middle and my husband enjoyed his apple crumble with custard. We left full and fully contented, they will be definatley seeing more of us in the future.

During the Christmas festivities I took the family out for breakfast to give my sister-in-law a break. We only popped down the road to have one of the best value for money breakfasts around. Never judge a book by its cover couldnt be more true as it applies to the Fairway Diner. Dont be put off by the replica Del Boy yellow Reliant in the muddy car park. All the regulars are known by name and if its your first time you will get a warm welcome. The service is quick and the food good, at a reasonable price. Plenty of time to chat to the owners if you are not in a rush. Its a family run business that has been there for years. I put its success down to service and value for money. A simple formula for success.

Wow weeee,,,, wot an amazing Christmas dinner I've had this year at this diner,,,,it was my first visit there, as was staying with friends in Rayleigh,Essex,,,,,definitely recommend it for Sunday dins, breakfast and brunch or even lunch!!....food is amazing and deserts very scrummy,,,,will defo return to this warm welcoming cafe/diner,,,perhaps in the summer when I'm visiting again,,,,staff work hard and always friendly,,had a well good time , thanku.....

Went here with my mum and one year old daughter, expecting a little greasy spoon workmans cafe and finding a warm, welcoming, friendly cafe, great service, amazing prices. I had a bacon sandwich and mum had a sausage sandwich and two cups of tea and some toast for my daughter, arrived hot, fresh and tasty and the bill was less than a tenner. Lovely owners and amazing looking home made desserts, will definitely be back for one of those.

We use the Fairway mainly for breakfast at weekends. it is the best, hottest, fastest breakfast in Essex. The people who run it work really hard and are allways polite. Only problem is that it is a bit dark and could do with a lick of paint. Well done on running a great caf.

Located in a muddy car park shared with a variety of small businesses ranging from sand and ballast to pet food the Fairway Diner appears from the outside to be a collection of portacabins and awnings. Do not be put off. Venture inside and you will find a warm welcome for breakfast or lunch with all the basic comforts catered for.Arrive hungry, the portions are large but if you order more than you can manage a box to carry home the rest will be provided. Licenced, so if you fancy a beer with lunch this is not a problem. The desserts are fantastic and all homemade. A daily specials board adds a little variety to the menu too. If I go with my dad (aged 97) they even find a cushion for him to sit on as the chairs are not padded. It's a mixed crowd here, girls from the stables up the road, passing workmen and ladies who lunch all seem to gather here.I shall go back often.
