I went in today my order was very basic I had a cone of chips, scallops and a saveloy the saveloy was cold and tasted disgusting so I took that back in straight away and they did give me a refund after giving me several funny looks. The scallops were alright but the chips were so undercooked and actually inedible if I had known this at the time I also would have returned those.. 🤮 never again.

Popped in yesterday after it had just reopened one of the men seemed like he didn't have a clue what he was doing stood pressing buttons on the wall I assume to use the fryer... we had nuggets upon walking to the bus stop my lad was eating his nuggets for him to tell me on his second nugget that they didn't taste right so I had one. Which I bite in to to find it wasn't fully cooked so that put us both off the rest of the food possibly won't be visiting again there was no warm welcome no hello nothing I used to love this chippy

Hands down, some of the best food I’ve had recently! They use the freshest ingredients and make sure each dish is done the right way mouth watering lovely food staff of Fantastic the owners are fantastic I would highly recommend this place to anyone cannot weight to order food from this place again amazing hands down you are truly amazing

Just been there about 40 minutes ago along with my son for the first time, the staff were very friendly & the food was delicious. You get a great amount of food portion too, would definitely recommend.

Ordered a large bag of chips and they were really good, not too dry or soggy, just crisp and fluffy, highly recommend. Staff also very friendly and welcoming.

First time I used the place since the new owners took over The second I walked in the lady was friendly polite and very attentive, I also got a warm welcome from other two guys working there as well, The chippy also looked very clean and tidy even the back area looking through the door from the chippy I had chicken kebab burger and chips, both was cooked well, a good temperature, the burger was well filled to pointed I could not pick it to eat it no bad thing, I just ate some meat with fork, then easy to pick up ! Definitely back was 100% happy with the service and food

Lovely lady working here, always go back for her. Very attentive, food is nice and I love the new additions on the menu.

Ordered our food and had to wait for curry sauce, they left the other food we ordered on the side. They said 3 minutes for curry sauce and after nearly 15 mins it appeared then after a 5 min walk home the food was cold and the chips were limp and soggy.

Always good food and pretty fast service, prices are a little high but their meal deals are not bad. New owners now, seems a different place, I will have to reserve judgement for a while!

I’ve always used this place as it’s local to me. Since it’s been taken over it’s nowhere near as good. After the meal I fetched today, I’ll never go again. £1.30 for a minuscule pot of peas( not the normal polystyrene pots), the doner burger had so little meat on it the first and last bites were just bread. The portions for the price were awful. The chips usually do two people but there was nowhere near enough. Had to give my son my few that came with my burger. I’ll travel two miles to a proper chippy. At least I know I’ll get what I pay for.

Bad customer service. Bugs in the widow my toddler was killing ants and bugs in the window. Window display is dirty. Adverts with prices on are all around the shop faded and just stuck up with tape. Advert on the website states offer of chicken fried rice £1 per customer. Husband went in to order for ourselves and the children and was told everyone needed to be present as we waited in the car. So we all got out the car and went in with the children they refused this and said that it's only 1 per family. Wasn't originally told this when went in 5 minutes before Staff member was arguing and rude then ignored me when I tried to speak to him regarding this. Wouldn't recommend and 100% will never return agin. In response to your reply.. 6 portions were ordered not 7. The promotion of Facebook states 1 per customer it don't state 1 per family like u said so isn't a case of reading advert properly maybe you and staff should because it says 1 per customer. Not at any point did any staff explain there wasn't enough prepared was just happy to argue even when shown what the Facebook offer stated when it clearly says 1 per customer. The shop has bugs all over the window and is dirty this needs to be looked at as while waiting to order food the first thing u see is dead bugs.

Heard such good things for the fish thought we would try. Firstly the women that served she asked how long the fish would be and the guy said 2 minutes and she wrapped the chips then and the Currey sauce both were cold when we got home. We asked for the fish lightly battered, the batter was thick and not cooked through most of the batter was stuck to the wrapping lots of water came out the fish and was very rubbery. We may have gone on a bad day as heard lots of good reviews just wants good tonight. Also I noticed the lady put the wrong condiments on a scallop and then add it back into the food container,

New owners and not great . Pie was dryer than a nuns flange . And the chips were unique to say the least .

Omg . U can tell it's new owners .. and funny thing is one who served me daughter was checking the receipt and said to her ," nothing worse getting home n something is missing from the order .. guess what .. she came home and my chips were missing 🤨she ran back down for them and they give her the chips .. mmmmm 🤨was dry .. not so good as usual...and not realy much food for the price... Used to be really good with the old owner .. WOULDN'T BOTHER WITH THIS CHIPPY NOW . 🫤

Wow just wow so expensive and so little food. The food wasn’t even the best. a cone of chips that didn’t even fill my 5 year old . A kebab that was suppose to be a large more like a small !!!! Absolutely shocking daylight robbery never again will I return or even pay the prices and I’ll advice others not to either ! Called to complain and was told new owners they have been told Number of times that there servings are to small by the old owners who have trained them but apparently they don’t care!!!

Tried fairfax chippy today and wasn't disappointed at all. Chips were lovely. Southern fried chicken wasn't dried up and the fish was really tasty. The ladies behind the counter were really attentive and happy to help. Will definitely be returning!!

Fairfax is not our local chip shop. But my Dad and I. Will always go every Friday. We can guarantee great food and service. A warm welcome on arrival

I bought my parents mini fish and chips at lunch time today. They really enjoyed the hot freshly cooked fish and chips. My mum said the fish could have been crisper but it was so lovely and fresh that she ate the lot!

Always a lovely welcome from the friendly staff. Food delicious and hot and very reasonably priced.Never had a reason to complain. Just glad this chip shop is located where I work and not where I live as I'd be tempted to eat from there more frequently.

Gone right down hill won't be using again, Fish is either rock hard batter or dripping with grease.

Went here on 2 recommendations and wasn't disappointed. Had mini cod and chips and curry sauce, the fish was cooked well and batter crispy, chips nice and crispy to 😊 its all really reasonably priced to. The staff are friendly and welcoming, the shop is pristine clean and organised.

Been this chip shop many times every time the food has been perfect all the staff are welcoming helpful and friendly I rate this place as one of the best chippys in Birmingham portions are great fish is amazing all round 10/10 highly recommend

Brought chips and asked for chilli and mayo half the bottle was on the chips only ate 5 then chucked them , chips tasted under cooked or re cooked nope didn't like at all

The fish I received was really dry I even asked for it to be fresh but I’m guessing they are fine with serving dried up fish that’s been out for ages . Chewing into the batter felt my teeth could not even bite into it and the fish inside was really dry there was no signs on moisture at all. This broke my heart so much as I herd good things about this business they have given fresh food before but it’s become a regular thing getting dried fish . If you want to keep your good reputation at least cook to order your fish for the customers please .

bought my family dinner from here tonight and we are all pleased with what we recieved , best chippy in the area would defo recommend to family and friends , lovely owner and staff , and the food is really good best ive had , the food was that good it left me wanting more lol , got one happy family with full tummys 😂

I got more than I'd bargain for. Excellent food cooked to perfection, friendly staff, clean environment, fantastically low price. A real and genuine complement. Would definately visit again and highly recommended.

My boyfriend went to the chippy today, got there at 4:28, the man of the shop was being funny and said not open until 4:30, so finally when he asked for mini fish and chips and as the woman asked what he wants on it he said he would phone and find out and he said the woman yelled and asked again so he yelled back I'm finding out for you... I'm sorry but as my boyfriend has got hidden disabilities and 2nd time going to that chippy (2nd time without me) I'm furious at the way they treated him, lost our service now, we live 20 minutes away and used this chippy for years now, not now, not after that service. He is trying to calm down along side me as a person also with disabilities, it hurt me knowing that someone could be rude to someone.

This has been a family run chippy for a very long time..staff are lovely.. food excellent.. people come from many surrounding areas and always have done..

Me and my wife visited the chippy on the 23 January, and we are very pleased most of the time, however on this occasion, the fish I had was quite soggy not very nice, my wife ordered a chicken kebab, it was dry and burnt to a crisp, also there was lamb meat in it, which she does not like, the chips was ok but overall very very disappointed. PS Tried to review this on trip advisor but strangely does not recognise the chippy or the post code.

Batter and fish not cooked to my taste or expectations compared to elsewhere. Its busy and popular enough though. Not my kind of thing sorry..

Still a good chippy but it's gone down hill a bit the batter on the fish looks like it's been there for days, chips are hit and miss of late, and the last five meals I've had gave me a bad gut

Hi I like Fairfax fish fry chip shop becouse last saturday We went to my brothers house fairfax road so I had chips there and the atmosphere of the chip shop is nice

Always a good feeling after a visit here. I don't go often just when I am in the area. Shop is always spotless and the staff/owner are always welcoming and friendly. I have never been disappointed with the food or service here.

Love the food here , i stopped away 4 a while cos quality went down ( wish prices would ) but its improved again

Absolutely love this chip shop. Everything is cooked to perfection. We've never had any rubbish food from this chippy ever. They also take phone orders, so my husband can have the fresh roe he loves so much freshly cooked. Lovely friendly staff, very polite and helpful, especially when I can't decide what to choose!!! The staff are always busy keeping the place clean and tidy and is always spotlessly clean.

Just had the worst fish and chips we have ever had! At a cost of nearly £8. We got fish that I couldn't cut through the hard batter. I ended up snapping the fish in half to share with my other half. He had made a special trip there as said they were the best in the area. Dreadful ,dreadful food. God knows how long that fish had been sat there. He wanted to go back and complain.I won't be pleased if we are ill from eating the little we did. We won't ever go back. Shame on you serving inedible food.
