Faircross Fish Bar in Barking and Dagenham

Food was nice but portions are very small and staff were rude! Also I find the place very overpriced.

Delivered small chips instead of large rip off at £6.00 for large. It is very noticeable. Chips quickly itself has badly gone down, mostly hard and some soggy.

Terrible! The only reason I went to the shop is because favourites (the takeaway opposite the road) was busy. The shop was empty, which should have been a no brainer. My biggest issue was with the battered sausage it was literally rock hard. I felt like I was chewing through wall paper. Never again!

We have ordered from Faircross Fish Bar many times in the past and have always been very impressed with how hot the food is. On this occasion I'm afraid to say that the chips, sausage and saveloy were just luke warm at best and had to go in the microwave which ruined the texture.

Bit disappointed, chips were like end of the barrel (binned most) sausage in batter, the batter was so hard and still pink in the middle (binned) But the kebab meat was nice hot and tasty…

Too expensive and worst food. Avoid.

Second time ordering and again 10/10 the cod and chips was first class - very fresh and fish lovely and white.

Chicken Shish was slices not cubes of chicken & was dry.. Fish batter soft. Fish inside was ok.

Cod and chips first class as usual.

Ordered from Uber and low and behold over half my order is missing plus the measley amount of chips you get for £5 is shocking

Tried other places but this is the best chips in the area. Proper thick cut chips, not soggy or floppy. Others just disappoint me.

ordered a donor kebab and received donor meat with a little chilli sauce and an uncut pitta bread. Not ordering a kebab from here again...chips were great as usual though.

I ordered Doner kebab . Very generous portion had good taste only mistake I made I ordered it with garlic mayo but would have preferred it to be in a pot and not all over meat but still happy with choice .

Have been using this shop for a while & for the first time an item was missed off of the order, a portion of small chips. Which I wasn't very pleased about. But otherwise food arrives hot & is really lovely & tasty

They make the most excellent chips, the best I have tasted in a long time. Their Lamb shish is tender and not rough. Thank you for a meal I actually enjoyed. I recommend & I will definately order from here again, as long as they do not change the chips :)

Giving a poor rating due to asking not to have sauce or onions in the food and still arriving with sauce and onions all over it …. And this ain’t the first time the first time I let it go but it as happened again otherwise the food would’ve of been perfect. So very disappointed that someone don’t bother reading requests.

Food was as delicious as usual unfortunately there was hardly any salad in the kebab.

A bit disappointed tonight. Fish good and hot but chips barely warm and almost rubbery like …. Like they’d been sitting a little while. Not up to their usual hot and crispy chips but this is unusual for them.

Undercooked chips and dry meat.

Fish was over cooked was re cooked. Batter was so hard, couldn’t eat it. The walley was soft, was old. Disgusting meal for £19. 25. Would never use you again.

Large chips cost £5 for hardly anything. Check Chubby Friars L chips and you will see value.

Worst chips ever! The right amount this time, but ‘old’ tasting, poor quality, full of eyes and black patches! Have actually never seen anything like it! This was really disappointing (and yes we have pics!). The chicken & mushroom pie also did not taste rights and was watery… this has put us off 😖

Does the job if a little expensive. I would order again but leaving it a while as other takeaways are cheaper.

3 times now they have forgotten fish from our Uber eats delivery. Last time I had to order a can of coke for them to deliver it and claim back the cost of the delivery. This time I called and was told it wasn’t their fault as the cars weren’t their’s. When I said well it wasn’t the drivers fault that the order wasn’t complete and asked what they were going to do about it he hung up on me. The food we “did” get was over cooked, the sausage in batter looked like it had been sitting around for a week and the chips tasted like they had been cooked in stale oil. I sincerely warn everyone not to use this shop. I will never use again. 😡

I had to repeat myself to the member of staff the batter sausages were very dry and for the price 4 battered sausage and salad that came up to £6 that is absolutely disgusting in any form of way it wasn't clean it was very dirty

Been going here for 8 years as it’s my local, gone massively down hill. You can tell by how empty it always is. Ordered fish and chips today, tiny fish soaked in a lot of batter, unseasoned batter. Got it home and started eating and the fish absolutely stank. The chips were over cooked and hard, I believe the oil hasn’t been changed in some time. Never again, given them far too many chances over the years!

I buy from Faircross Fish Bar a few times a month as the quality of their food is brilliant. The fish is never "dry" but cooked to perfection and "large" should be substituted with "HUGE"! Their donor kebabs are generous in size and tasty. Thank you Faircross Fish Bar.

This is the second time I've ordered from Faircross Fish Bar and, once again, the food was delicious, well cooked and regarding the the large portion of chips really was large and there was plenty to go around. The pies, sausage roll and saveloys were cooked to perfection. Thank you Faircross.

The fish was moist and succulent and the batter was not all crunchy. The portions were large and they weren't large - they were HUGE! The same with the Doner Kebabs. The chips were excellent and the small portion was more than plenty. The saveloys were large and the minced beef and onion pie was cooked through. Excellent food. Everyone was more than pleased.
