Faanoos - Chiswick in Hounslow

This place is absolutely incredible. The interior is cosy and warm and the service pretty rapid. But let's talk about the food. Everything feels sooo fresh. The salad , the rice, the chicken with crispy skin and the meat is so moist. They also make fresh bread in their oven. There is a super cheap lunch menu I'd really recommend. Possibly the best lunch option in the area

I recently visited Persian Room and was initially impressed by the charming decor and inviting ambiance. The interior design is tasteful, with an elegant blend of traditional Persian elements and modern touches that create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Coupled with the decent prices, I had high hopes for an enjoyable dining experience. However, the quality of the food left much to be desired. I ordered the Koobideh and the Joojeh (As the mixed plate for 2), expecting a flavorful and satisfying meal. Unfortunately, the minced meat in the Koobideh was undercooked and pink in the inside, which was not only disappointing but concerning from a food safety perspective. The Joojeh was also not up to standard and was also pink in the inside, it also was lacking the tenderness and seasoning one would expect from a dish that is a staple in Persian cuisine. To their credit, the staff replaced the undercooked Koobideh promptly. However, the second attempt was overcooked, with the meat burned on the outside, making it dry and tough. This inconsistency in the cooking raises serious concerns about the kitchen's capabilities. It seems that the cooks and possibly the equipment need a thorough reevaluation to meet the standards of a proper dining experience. It’s important to note that Persian Room is not a new establishment; it is the same restaurant that was previously known as Fanoos in Chiswick, with the same management. Unfortunately, it appears that the quality of the food has remained unchanged, which is disappointing given the name change and potential for a fresh start. In conclusion, I will not be returning to Persian Room and cannot recommend it to others. There are better options nearby that offer a more consistent and enjoyable dining experience. It's unfortunate that the issues with the food overshadow the restaurant's otherwise pleasant ambiance.

Great food, great service. Then why 4 stars? ... New name, and it's now just too expensive for what it is. One makhsoos and the bill comes to £22. Lovely but it'll have to be a treat to go there now, not a regular go to restaurant.

You can always count on a nice meal here. The chicken is always grilled to perfection and the minced lamb is nice with a crispy edge to it. The humus has to be one of the best around always fresh and tasty. I discovered their vegetarian stew dish wish is flavourful, not too spicy and different than their normal menu. Funny side note - this is not a traditional Persian dish (I asked) 😁 but boy is it good.

I'm not a fan of Iranian food. But this place matches the taste of Maulana and other Iranian restaurants I've eaten at. The prices are reasonable and you can find free parking after 7pm on the single yellow line further down from the restaurant towards the town hall. The service was decent and polite. The food was fresh and tasted as you'd expect from a decent Iranian restaurant. Not my favourite type of food but I can understand the good reviews. The atmosphere reminds me of a dimly lit pub.

Absolutely great. Love going for dinner with friends. The service is always as great as the food. Also there is some nice events on every once in a while.

For some reason the post code brings the driver to another road nearby. Is there anyway it can be fixed?

We were a group of friends who came to this restaurant and the service and food were not good at all. They did not treat us respectfully, and they charged separately for each person if we had taken a SET MENU from them, and no restaurant charges again for a set menu.. I personally do not recommend this restaurant.

My favourite restaurant in London. Meat is always soft and delicious.

Food was commendable but havent come across such a racist behaviour in London till date. Passing racist comments based on the nationality of the customer is not accepted. It is your basic duty to be respectful to your client irrespective of where they belong. Grow up!!

Dropped in early Friday evening. It was quiet. Shared bread and dips a starter - delicious! The house white wine was rather good. We each had chicken kebab with various extras. We all agreed the chicken was excellent and the accompanying rice and other additions were fine. It was reasonably priced too and we enjoyed it. The service was "interesting" in that whilst we didn't have to wait any length of time, the 2 staff members who were taking orders and serving the food were so disinterested and really gave off a vibe of not wanting to be there and not being involved with us. However, the food saved the outing!

Tasty Persian cuisine. Friendly and courteous staff. Fast turnaround timed. Recommended kebabs and stews.

I have tried this restaurant for take away foods and food is good but not the best Persian food in London. The portion sizes are also good and enough. The atmosphere is fantastic. I will definitely visit again but Koonideh isn’t the best in my option. Barg and Jooneh are good.

Great place, family run for many years & long May they continue, the selection & authenticity of the food is terrific, as is the welcoming service.

Been coming to Faanoos with my family for years, it's hands down our favourite intimate dinner spot with the best Persian food we've ever had. The staff is lovely, food portions are generous and the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. Highly recommend their chullu kebab and the okra curry dish. Ask for pomegranate currents to add to your rice or bread for a burst of flavour!

I had some wraps/sandwiches ordered for my wedding from Fanoos last night. There was not a single guest who was not impressed with the quality of the food. I would like to give my special thanks to the chef, Jafar and Farhad with organising it for us.

Absolutely lovely place with delicious food and great service. Freshly baked bread with all those delicious starters, heaven for me. We tried lots of different dishes and every single one was amazing including service. The restaurant is quite small so can be very busy.

i rarely award 5 stars to a food establishment - if i didn't in this case, i would be a liar. portion sizes were ideal and very VERY reasonable prices (personally, i was shocked to find this in london). enjoyed mast o khiyar and a 1 person mixed grill (joojeh+koobideh) and oh my goodness THE RICE?? delicious. the fresh bread was superb; the restaurant has a lovely atmosphere with a bread tandoor's smell permeating the air. so scrum. the vibes were immaculate, i imagine tehran to feel like this. already thinking of who i'm bringing with me next time!!

I ordered the Falafel plate. Overall food was good but could have been better with some sauce for the dish. It was a bit dryish. Decent experience.

My go to restaurant during the week or weekends… very convenient for Chiswick Business Park employees and people lives in Chiswick and Brentford… never disappointed me Food is delicious and stuff are very nice 👍 Only one concern I have is their bathroom needs to be renovated and improved… I wish they do it soon 🤝

Fanoos is a bit of a Chiswick institution, lots of older families from our local area go regularly, and for good reason - food is always good, service always polite, and the flatbread is always (hopefully always) cooked then and there, at the front of the restaurant in a hand fired oven, lending the whole place a lovely aroma.

Quaint little place with really reasonable pricing and extremely large portions. The wrap comes in a naan so is huge! Very generous with the chicken inside. Unfortunately no pics but lovely Iranian / Persian foods. 10/10

I’m not sure why they bake freash bread in their oven then take it to the kitchen to go cold and hard before bringing it to the table? The food was just OK, not great for me; the K1 beer (brewed without sugar) virtually flavourless. My colleagues enjoyed the experience more than I did. Waiter very happy and friendly but got our order wrong on a couple of occasions

Very nice food, good interior, friendly staff and good prices. There is a little room for improvement I would say with quality of utensils and service, but overall, very good and highly recommended.

Delicious food, friendly service and great venue!! Turned up here without a reservation with our 3 year old child, they gave us a previously reserved table, we’re very attentive and the food that came out was incredible! Full of flavour and a generous portion that left me feeling satisfied when I left! Can’t wait to go back next time we are in town and order something else off the menu!

Part of our order was missing, bread was uncooked, salad was full of onions in a way that when we took onions out of it, not much of the salad was left. Rice was dry. Overall as an Iranian who knows Iranian food very well, wasn’t so great food! Sorry, but wouldn’t recommend

This used to be one of our favourite restaurants in Chiswick. The chicken was very very salty. The bread was hard and over cooked. The lamb kebab tasted like it had been precooked and re-heated. It was very dry. Fies were crispy and over cooked. A 10% service charge is now added to the bill. Tipping used to be optional.

The food portion compared to last time is appalling and I honestly don’t know wether it’s because I called and asked for a simple change in my order but this is not good instead of giving me 2 skewers of beef they cut one in half and gave me that.

Words can't describe how tasty the food we had was. We ordered the 2 people mix grill and every piece just oozed flavour. Loved the bread cooked in the special oven. Highly recommend the baklava!

I've been eating Persian food for years, but this restaurant raised the bar substantially. The atmosphere is simple yet charming, the food is authentic and really fine, service is excellent. Simply cannot recommend enough. It's been two days and still thinking of the food and going back with my friends again. We've tried 4 different dishes one better than the other but their kobidah with freshly baked bread is heavenly.

I have been to Faanoos a couple of times and always leave satisfied. The warm air that hits you as you walk in the door past the tandoor style oven puts a great big smile on my face. Being extra hungry today, I had the mixed grill kebab sandwich with chips and hummus. Meat was cooked really well, hummus was lovely and rounded off with the tandoor style bread which sits as the large edible bowl to work with. Great for a lunch time quick meal or a lounging dinner.

Good food. Good atmosphere. Good service. What more can I say?
