Faanoos - Chiswick in Hounslow

One of my go to places when it comes to Persian food. Delicious food.

We gave it a ride and it became very normal. If it's close to you, try it. Far away, don't be mean 😅

We were a group of friends who came to this restaurant and the service and food were not good at all. They did not treat us respectfully, and they charged separately for each person if we had taken a SET MENU from them, and no restaurant charges again for a set menu.. I personally do not recommend this restaurant.

My favourite restaurant in London. Meat is always soft and delicious.

Food was commendable but havent come across such a racist behaviour in London till date. Passing racist comments based on the nationality of the customer is not accepted. It is your basic duty to be respectful to your client irrespective of where they belong. Grow up!!

Tasty Persian cuisine. Friendly and courteous staff. Fast turnaround timed. Recommended kebabs and stews.

A selection of meat dishes and starters. Recommended booking as can get very busy.

I have tried this restaurant for take away foods and food is good but not the best Persian food in London. The portion sizes are also good and enough. The atmosphere is fantastic. I will definitely visit again but Koonideh isn’t the best in my option. Barg and Jooneh are good.

Great place, family run for many years & long May they continue, the selection & authenticity of the food is terrific, as is the welcoming service.

Been coming to Faanoos with my family for years, it's hands down our favourite intimate dinner spot with the best Persian food we've ever had. The staff is lovely, food portions are generous and the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. Highly recommend their chullu kebab and the okra curry dish. Ask for pomegranate currents to add to your rice or bread for a burst of flavour!

I had some wraps/sandwiches ordered for my wedding from Fanoos last night. There was not a single guest who was not impressed with the quality of the food. I would like to give my special thanks to the chef, Jafar and Farhad with organising it for us.

Love this place. The food is amazing. 3rd visit. I'm in Sunbury but would be happy to order and pick, its soo good. X

i rarely award 5 stars to a food establishment - if i didn't in this case, i would be a liar. portion sizes were ideal and very VERY reasonable prices (personally, i was shocked to find this in london). enjoyed mast o khiyar and a 1 person mixed grill (joojeh+koobideh) and oh my goodness THE RICE?? delicious. the fresh bread was superb; the restaurant has a lovely atmosphere with a bread tandoor's smell permeating the air. so scrum. the vibes were immaculate, i imagine tehran to feel like this. already thinking of who i'm bringing with me next time!!

Absolutely lovely place with delicious food and great service. Freshly baked bread with all those delicious starters, heaven for me. We tried lots of different dishes and every single one was amazing including service. The restaurant is quite small so can be very busy.

I ordered the Falafel plate. Overall food was good but could have been better with some sauce for the dish. It was a bit dryish. Decent experience.

Ate here last week while visiting the area. I was recommended this place and I can see why. The food was very good and at a great price. Service was also good. Wish this restaurant was local to me!! If you're in the area, give them a go!

Outstanding food! Very fresh and delicious, loved the minced lamb as well as grilled chicken pieces and freshly made naan. Definitely recommend!

My go to restaurant during the week or weekends… very convenient for Chiswick Business Park employees and people lives in Chiswick and Brentford… never disappointed me Food is delicious and stuff are very nice 👍 Only one concern I have is their bathroom needs to be renovated and improved… I wish they do it soon 🤝

Great little restaurant! Came here on our lunch break with some work colleagues. Their Persian cuisine was excellent, and big portion sizes. Good prices too. Very quaint atmospheric place, with great service. Will definitely be returning!

Fanoos is a bit of a Chiswick institution, lots of older families from our local area go regularly, and for good reason - food is always good, service always polite, and the flatbread is always (hopefully always) cooked then and there, at the front of the restaurant in a hand fired oven, lending the whole place a lovely aroma.

Quaint little place with really reasonable pricing and extremely large portions. The wrap comes in a naan so is huge! Very generous with the chicken inside. Unfortunately no pics but lovely Iranian / Persian foods. 10/10

I’m not sure why they bake freash bread in their oven then take it to the kitchen to go cold and hard before bringing it to the table? The food was just OK, not great for me; the K1 beer (brewed without sugar) virtually flavourless. My colleagues enjoyed the experience more than I did. Waiter very happy and friendly but got our order wrong on a couple of occasions

Good vibes & good food & good service. First time trying Persian food and it was SO good. Very healthy, mildly spiced(I assume more local interpretation) and fresh. Recommend their lamb fillet and Doogh!

Very nice food, good interior, friendly staff and good prices. There is a little room for improvement I would say with quality of utensils and service, but overall, very good and highly recommended.

Delicious food, friendly service and great venue!! Turned up here without a reservation with our 3 year old child, they gave us a previously reserved table, we’re very attentive and the food that came out was incredible! Full of flavour and a generous portion that left me feeling satisfied when I left! Can’t wait to go back next time we are in town and order something else off the menu!

The service was excellent, as well as the food I really enjoyed my time. A solid 5 star.

Part of our order was missing, bread was uncooked, salad was full of onions in a way that when we took onions out of it, not much of the salad was left. Rice was dry. Overall as an Iranian who knows Iranian food very well, wasn’t so great food! Sorry, but wouldn’t recommend

Lovely food. However makes you lethargic Took an extra £2 off my card over menu price for no reason so I’ll therefore never come again. I got takeaway too so there’s no excuse. I’m a student who studies a few doors down

This used to be one of our favourite restaurants in Chiswick. The chicken was very very salty. The bread was hard and over cooked. The lamb kebab tasted like it had been precooked and re-heated. It was very dry. Fies were crispy and over cooked. A 10% service charge is now added to the bill. Tipping used to be optional.

Visited with family, we absolutely loved the place. Food was superb, beautiful ambience.

Simply great. And has been so for the past 10 years. They make their own bread in a traditional oven and is amazing. Highly recommended!

Words can't describe how tasty the food we had was. We ordered the 2 people mix grill and every piece just oozed flavour. Loved the bread cooked in the special oven. Highly recommend the baklava!

I've been eating Persian food for years, but this restaurant raised the bar substantially. The atmosphere is simple yet charming, the food is authentic and really fine, service is excellent. Simply cannot recommend enough. It's been two days and still thinking of the food and going back with my friends again. We've tried 4 different dishes one better than the other but their kobidah with freshly baked bread is heavenly.

I have been to Faanoos a couple of times and always leave satisfied. The warm air that hits you as you walk in the door past the tandoor style oven puts a great big smile on my face. Being extra hungry today, I had the mixed grill kebab sandwich with chips and hummus. Meat was cooked really well, hummus was lovely and rounded off with the tandoor style bread which sits as the large edible bowl to work with. Great for a lunch time quick meal or a lounging dinner.

The aubergine starter is amazing. I could eat it by the bucketload. The grilled meats are delicious and the bread's straight from the tandoor. Lovely pickles and sour raisins too. Yum

Visited this restaurant on Saturday night just gone, with 13 people, celebrating a gender reveal. Booking was for 8pm and we as a large group were seated downstairs in the restaurant. Firstly the downstairs was uninviting, our table was crammed into a small area just in front of an unused bar and back door which we soon found out was part of the kitchen. The floors and stairs were very slippery, not ideal for anyone, but especially two pregnant women. We were the only ones seated downstairs and there were spare tables further away from the kitchen area and bar but they chose to seat us here. There was at one point a lot of noise coming from behind the door (sounded like an abattoir) which we later found out was part of the kitchen as eventually a waiter came down to take some drink orders and he decided to open this door wide. There was an eye-wateringly strong stench of bleach coming from this room, and we could see a very large colander of pre-made rice sitting on top of a dirty fridge in the back corner or the room. Anyway, service was pretty poor downstairs in this restaurant, we barely saw a waiter, only to take our drinks order and then rushed food order and then finally one more round of drinks. So we only had two rounds of drinks for the whole 2.5hrs we were there, you would think they would want to take more orders to make more money on the drink, but no we didn't see them until we waved at the CCTV camera in the corner of the room to get their attention. 50% of our table ordered the Mezze starter and Mixed grill for 2 for mains, the waiter came down with two very small pots of chilli sauce and two very small pots of mayonnaise and placed them either end of the table - this was to share between 13 people, because when we asked for more, the waiter huffilly said, its very busy upstairs, I will refill them for you and then brought a bottle down and squirted some in each bowl! The starters came with cold flat bread and cold tasteless dips, definitely would not recommend that dish! The mixed grill for two was better but still on the cold side, we were given a plate full of meat, which to its credit was very tasty, with a small piece of chopped salad and two cremated tomatoes either end of the plate and each of us was given a main plate full of rice with a small pat of butter. Once our mains were finished they hastilly took our dessert and hot drinks order, and the hostess asked for the gender reveal cakes that she had brought to be fetched out, which they did. As soon as the waiter put the cakes on the table and before our hot drinks or dessert had appeared, he produced the bill - without us asking! We said we would like our drinks and dessert before we paid for it and he disappeared, coming back 5 minutes later with the drinks etc. No sooner had we eaten our cupcakes and revealed the gender of the baby (a boy by the way), the waiter took the payment and a manager came down and said can we go now!! We were flabbergasted, it was 10.20pm on a Saturday night and the management said they were closing and could we leave - now! We have never in all our years of going to restaurants been told to leave and before the stated closing time on their web site! Safe to say the service charge was not paid and we will not be returning to this restaurant again.

Forgot item with delivery order and refused to redeliver, instead said I have to come and collect missing item. Also one tiny piece of feta in a £6 feta salad. Not good at all!

Delicious, especially on a hot summer day

We have dined in lots of times here & the food is very good but we decided to get a takeaway last night for a family group & est at home, despite going in to place the order in person we struggled to make ourselves understood what we wanted to order. We went over the menu 3 times with them when we got home there was wrong items & 3 missing items despite being charged for them! There was no point in calling them to complain as all of the staff posses very little English. They need 1 front of house staff member with a good command of English to take telephone & face to face orders as there is a massive communication problem in this restaurant. Ok if you are eating in as you can point at the menu to show what you want to order & if they get it wrong ( which they frequently do) it can be rectified whilst you are there. Its such a shame as the communication here lets the restaurant down big time.

Service was very poor. Ordered starters and a main course. After 30 minutes the main course arrived before the starters. Food was not fresh and tasted like it had been microwaved.

Friendly service but unfortunately the food/ meat quality is very low. Not recommended! I am not surprised as the restaurants try to keep the prices low so they do not lose customers!

I had a takeout and it was really juicy and good. Kofte cooked beautifully and lovely grilled vegetables in their own baked bread. I keep coming back.

This is a local legend, been here for years and years and with good reason. It's an excellent restaurant with lovely attentive staff and very reasonable prices for really fresh and tasty food

Not the best choice. The food was ok, and prices as well but not something to be crazy about. The falafel though were awful, cold, very dry inside, not the usual ones. We didn’t enjoy the waiter’s behaviour as he was rude to us when it came to the bill. Won’t be going again.

Lamb kofta is the best I ever had. The bread is great too. Amazing value for money.

Nice good tasty Persian food with beverage alcohol, non alcohol and fresh fruits juice available.

Great place this, nice varied menu and some decent sharer options options as well. Worth getting a mixed grill so you can have a bit of everything. Bread is phenomenal also and done fresh in the clay oven, has to be done with some hummus as a starter. Staff all make you feel at home.
