AVOID - food is terrible please don't waste your money, Curry was watery absolutely no flavour, Just don't bother!

Not really sure how this place has so many stars. The beef curry was nice but average. The ribs was all bone, we struggled to find any meat on them. The chicken balls was overcooked, dry and tastless. Over all not very impressed.

Consistently great - I was surprised to see some of the reviews as we get takeaway from here a lot and it’s always good.

Ordered 4 items - very difficult to mess up but apparently, that doesn’t mean impossible. Got a portion of sesame prawn toast, a portion of sweet & sour chicken balls (12 pieces), a mixed meat chow mein and a portion of special fried rice. Ordered it in person (take-away) and also quoted the menu numbers corresponding to each dish, so as I stated previously - hard to mess it up!!! What we got instead was a total failure to justify spending almost £25 in there (which by the way approx. 2 months ago, used to total at £20 - so clearly Evergreen have no issue increasing prices and decreasing their quality of service in exchange). We got a duck chow mein, instead of a mixed meat one. We also got cold (almost frozen in the centre) s&s chicken balls which were a total of 10, as opposed to the 12 stated as the portion size as well. On top of the other issues, we were also provided with a very stale/not recently made portion of sesame prawn toast. Overall, probably the worst oriental/cantonese take-away me and my colleagues have had (with regards to the food state/quality).

After getting a Chinese from here on NYE, I spent the next day with sickness & diarrhea, will never eat from here again

Delicious food! Very generous portions and great customer service. Ordered the chicken and beef chow mein, and the roast pork chow mein, both very nice. Will definitely order from this great place again. :)

Use it once in a while and never disappointed. Prompt service and always tastes good.

Came in here for a takeaway kung po chicken. For nine pounds I got cheap, rubbery tasteless meat, watered down own-brand supermarket sauce, bland vegetables and boring rice. Portions not big. This was billed as a kung-po and so should have had some kick, but none forthcoming. Dull as it comes. Won't be coming back.

This is a really decent place. Reasonably priced, quick service and always very tasty. Well recommended.

Horrible food, terrible service, don’t bother going, worst Chinese takeaway I’ve ever visited, special fried rice consisted of cubed ham & the smallest prawns I’ve ever seen, up to you if you go but I’d go elsewhere, if I could give them a 0 rating I would.

Evergreen is just round the corner from my father-in-laws in Coventry, so very convenient when we're visiting from London. We've always had very good take-away meals and good service from them. I particularly like the Chinese curry. I would recommend!

Tasteless. My Singapore chow mein had no chicken unusual. Replaced by cheap ham cubes. Mix starter not great either. Sorry. 😒

Regular Chinese for years. Tried others but always come back. Tastes 'clean', not just a mush of food. Not massive portions but would rather have quality over quantity.

As far as I'm concerned this is the best Chinese takeaway in Coventry. I've probably tried around 10 other Chinese takeaways in the last few years, and this beats the lot. Rice is not dry, chicken is succulent, king prawns are juicy, and sweet and sour chicken balls are actually full of chicken as opposed to mostly just batter. Open plan kitchen so you can see the chefs at work, plus my daughter gets a lollipop so all good!

Would not recommend, absolutely horrible. Only flavour you can taste is cinnamon. Wouldn’t go again.

Had a take away from here last night, wasn't very flavoured. Wasn't bad but not great. Plus point was the quick phone call to pick up time. 10 minutes.

I popped into Evergreen on my way home tonight. I was the last person to be served as it was 10:58pm when I got in there. On ordering my favourite meal of Singapore fried rice and chips I’m served in pretty quick time (maybe understandable as they are closing up). As I walk out the door the shutter closes behind me immediately. As I walk back to the house I have a quick chip. Totally uncooked. Maybe a bad one from the bag I think. In getting home however I’m faced with an entire bag of uncooked soggy chips, and what can only be described as salty rice with fake meat. I’ve paid £7.10 for this. The ‘Singapore fried rice’ I’ve been sold is nothing more than barely fried rice with slices of raw pepper and processed cubes of some sort of meat. It could’ve been tofu for all I know. To top it off it is so salty I nearly gag on the first mouthful. To say i’m disappointed after that ‘meal’ would be an understatement. I know takeaway food is meant to be bad for you, but that was downright dangerous. My advice is if you’ve got time, walk/drive about half a mile to the best Chinese in town - Allesley House. Never had a bad meal there.

I've made the mistake of eating from here twice (both after a couple of pints in the Maudsley). The Singapore rice is not spicy, still has powder in it where they haven't mixed/cooked it enough and also has Spam in it?!?! The curry sauce tastes like the stuff you get in a chip shop. Prices are fine

Had a good takeaway from here. Food fresh and cooked well. Lemon chicken passable. Staff not the friendliest when I collected, but can't have everything. Price decent too.

Ordered a takeaway tonight from Evergreen as it was recommended. All we had was BBQ spare ribs, a chicken dish and chips. The BBQ spare ribs were the worst I have ever, ever eaten. The fact I had a go I my partner because I thought he had ordered the wrong ribs. He went back & they said you have to order a extra sauce if you want them like that !!! What...safe to say I will not go there again. Shocked to think they believe them to be BBQ spare ribs. The little sauce that came back with the second lot was NOT BBQ sauce - horrid yuk.

Seriously, the best chinese takeaway in coventry. I live longford and if i'm in mood for chinese will drive across town to collect. always friendly. I always get set meals, fed four people with set meal for three people (and they were greedy barstools) If you try here and are disappointed then you probably need to see a doctor as nothing makes you happy.

I used to buy just a bag of veggie mini spring rolls on my way past all the time! They are to die for! Cheap and clean too! Typical Chinese take away thats never let me down!

Ordered a chinese and thought the food was flavourless and expensive. We spent nearly £20 and didn't get any free prawn crackers which I thought was mean. Much prefer yuyi dragon.
