Now I do not claime to know anything about Ethiopian food, so thought the best way was to try some. What I had was a good mixture of flavours on one plate. Hot, a little spicy, and different textures. Like a lot of stalls, this one also had queues for the food. So be prepared to wait a bit.

Well spiced, a bit of kick to it and the portions for a medium is really filling. I had the medium beef with 2 and a bit of sides as there wasn’t enough of the one I wanted.

I am a fan of African cuisines and have enjoyed Ethiopian food always. Somehow this hugely crowded food stall in Borough lacked quality of any sort. Located right in center of Borough Market along with other take-away options, this place attracts large queues mostly. I visited for an early lunch, my turn came after 10 minutes in the queue. The pricing of food here is really adequate, but most Borough is like that. I took Beef (Sega tibs) with 2 vegetable options which is just priced at 6.95£. The server was very plain but I don't complain about that because standing all day and serving queues isn't easy. I took the lentil and beans for my 2 vege options. You can either select their Injera bread which is Ethiopian flatbread or rice. As I was not in mood to mess my hands, I chose white rice with my order. I took my order to enjoy in seating area at Borough. Ethiopian cuisine is famous for use of Berbere in its meat dishes, which is spicy tangy chilli powder and gives Ethiopian stews and tibs its kick. Disappointingly, I failed to observe any kind of taste in my meat or veges, even rice was an undercooked fluffy mess and totally unpalatable. The texture of the food was alright and was obviously cooked by someone who understood the cuisine, but the seasoning and spices was totally lacking which made the dish totally bland, sort of something made in a hurry or just to put stuff on the plate. I cannot recommend this place because what was served to me wasn't Ethiopian food, it was an uninspired concoction of ingredients which didn't taste anything at all together or solo.

Never thought Ethiopian food could be done as street food. But this place does it! Great food. The “wats” and the sides were all great. Vegetarian friendly. Highly recommend it if you are in Borough Market.

Borough market is well known for excellent street food. There is such a huge selection, how do you decide which one to go for?. Well let me help you. Ethiopean Flavours wins best of all with fantastic taste and value for money. An easy to understand menu with clear pricing always helps but the treat is in the food. You have a choice of a chicken or beef curry/stew or a combo of both. This then comes with a lovely doughy type bread called Ingera bread and/or steamed rice. Dishes are then served with a selection of vegetables, including a lentil dish, great beans, spinach, etc.. We had the convo that allowed us a good portion of chicken and beef and 2 veg plus rice and bread. Absolutely delicious.

Had lunch in borough market at a fantastic stall. I had to wait in a Line of ‘20 people & it was good. Ethiopian food cooked to a high standard as you wait. Veggie food in available. I had the chicken and beef combo with sliced beans & carrots with dhal rice and pancakes base Fantastic. Hot fresh and full of flavour. The market was packed and this stall was busy. £8.50 all in for a good lunch meal’ I walked passed this stall about one hour later and counted 25 people in the line buying this food. The guys we’re working there socks off’ to make sure you lifted happy with your food order. Well done great food.

Delicious food and great value! Love that you can also choose two vegetable side dishes too. The inerja bread was really interesting to try. I'll definitely be back!

Absolutely hands down some of the tastiest food you’re likely to eat in Borough. Among the burgers and oysters (yawn) Thai and falafels (double yawn) is the chance to eat something you don’t find everywhere. Flavour and variety (the mixed combo and choice of 2 veggie sides is king) as well as HUGE portions for not a lot of money in this tourist hotspot makes this stall a regular option not just one you try once. Sharpen your elbows and get in the queue.

This place is great! Really great food for a great price. We always get one meat, one vegetable (the only menu choices) and they're always made to perfection.
