Enish Nigerian Restaurant and Lounge Ilford in Redbridge

I recently took my mum to Enish ilford for Mother's Day, and it was an absolutely delightful experience! From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel special with their warm hospitality. The ambiance was perfect for the occasion, creating a lovely atmosphere for us to enjoy our time together. The menu offered a fantastic selection of dishes, and my mum was thrilled with her choice. The food was not only delicious but beautifully presented, making it even more enjoyable. The highlight of the meal was definitely the dessert my mum couldn't stop raving about it. We had a wonderful time, and I highly recommend Enish ilford for anyone looking to celebrate a special occasion. It's a place where you can create beautiful memories with your loved ones.

The staffs are sooooooo rude,very unprofessional and not helpful, food came after 1.5hours of us ordering, very bad experience. Won't be coming back here. Im so disappointed with the whole service and staff. The plantain that came with the fish had sooo much oil in it, very unhealthy.

Top marks for the food - both in quality and quantity. Although it was a little bit of wait to get served, the hot and steamy food compensated for that. Enjoyed the meal with the family on mothers Day. The restaurant was busy but staff handled customers well, wete polite and offered useful advice. Can't fault anything here. The restaurant is on the Ilford High road. Parking is available behind the restaurant, free for 2 hours. Highly recommended and I will visit again

OMG!!! this restaurant is underrated. My friend recommended it to me last week and I didn’t pay any mind to it but on faithful evening after I closed from work I decided to visit their Ilford branch and I promise your the food is to die for. Don’t get me started on the service. Their runner’s name is Bruno and he was so polite and always had a smile on his face which made me feel welcomed. I tipped him £20 and honestly I think he deserves more.

Planned a surprise birthday dinner for my hubby at Enish Ilford. Everything was perfect except that there were no cleaners on ground to clean my baby's mess. I think that should be looked in to rather than tissue papers. Anyways, My hubby's friends loved the place. They loved the food, The ambience was perfect. We didnt want to leave but we had kids so we had to leave at 9:30pm as is the restaurants policy. It was really a great night. Special thanks to the staff, Damilare, he was quite helpful.

Had an amazing experience at Enish in ilford The food was delicious, especially the Jollof rice and Suya. The staff were friendly and attentive, making the whole dining experience perfect. Highly recommend

I had a great time at Enish last month in September that I was there. It was a pleasant atmosphere with their sumptuous dishes and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Cool place to unwind the weekend away with good vibes and a lovely place to visit.

I had a takeaway for the 1st time trying it I was disappointed with a powdery pounded yam also jollof rice tasted burnt egusi with chicken the chicken was hard.. so disappointed

I was invited for a friend party over the weekend and it’s my first time trying Nigeria food and I most say that I love it , the staff are so friendly and service is 10/10 , the manager Dami is so professional as well , over all will come back and recommend this place

FOOD IS below average AND OVERPRICED. Charging for takeaway containers when stew and ewedu was £35 is craaaaaaazyyyyyyyyy. The suya was also cold. 🙄 Do better Enish.

I'm not a fan of Enish food, this is the second time I've eaten there both times for birthdays, and both times I was disappointed in the food so was my family. The service at the Ilford branch was much better than Lewisham branch, the servers were polite in Ilford. The atmosphere at the Ilford branch was nice, DJ was good. Would I go to Enish willingly again no, unless someone chooses to go there for a Birthday, but I will eat before I go.

I had jellof rice and beef it was lite and tasty,the stew that came with the beef was so sweet that I have to order for an extra stew it taste really good from the one I use to have before I really enjoy the jellof rice will be stopping by always to have these tasty jellof rice

My egusi soup tastes and smells burnt it is chocking with a bad after taste.

Wowwww let me start with the amazing quick service 10/10 staff was lovely and attentive. Me and my beat friend came here for dinner we ordered the chicken wings (hot) assorted meat and abula with pounded yam OMG the flavours 😩 I would give enish in Ilford 1000000/1000000 thank you for the best experience ❤️

Food is always hit and miss. Today I received burnt beef stew and bland friend rice that was just bloody awful. The plantain was lush though!

When we arrived I was really excited about the atmosphere, I had heard so many good things about Enish, unfortunately the food didn't really live up to my expectations. We had Egusi with garri, Egusi with bitter leaf with pounded yam, suya beef, chicken wings. The Egusi was full of palm oil and the chicken wings was just one chicken wing for 10 pounds. It was a shame, there are better Enish, it just wasn't the day for Ilford today.

Enish Ilford i believe you can do better, because the food wasn’t it at all, the more reason I decided to try out Enish Ilford was because my friends and I ate at Enish Lewisham and the food and services I’ll give a 10/10. But Ilford’s food was not it at all, the Abula was just a write off, my friend and I was disappointed. Now I have Diarrhea thanks to Enish Ilford, Ahhh Never Again, Pls improve thanks

Please do not waste your money or time. The food is disgusting, the stew is made from canned tomatoes and very tasteless. They also charge for every piece of meat in the food. You get a bill that's totally different from what you expect. Avoid at all cost

Imagine calling a whole week before to book a table and being told your booking isn’t there. Well that is what happened. I was made to look like an idiot standing in the front section arguing with a security guard and an owner being told they can’t sit 6 people as they have a large booking. What’s seems like is that they have cancelled my booking to accommodate them. Being lied to that I would need to pay a deposit which has never been the case in the past. We finally sat down even though I was told they didn’t want to ruin my night, however this was already done when I was embarrassed at the front. I’ve been to enish many times in the past and I’m very disappointed with how this was dealt with. And honestly I’m not sure if I will return. And will be telling friends and family to avoid.

Food was okay. Prices are ridiculously high. Service was terrible. Don't take a booking and then cancel it for a bigger booking. Music was too loud and aggressive air conditioning, so was sitting in the cold. Packed together, so no room. So many people in such a small place. Honestly just avoid the Ilford branch. You'll thank me later. Would never go again!!

Ambience was good. Great music too. The entrance was not the tidiest and there was no one to usher us in. The hand sanitizer was looking dodgy so we had to use ours. Food was good but rather expensive. Not sure I will visit again but only cause the meal prices are expensive ------ 2 years later, I have visited again. Nothing has changed from my previous review. This time, I ordered shakabula cocktail and what the waitress brought was nothing compared to the version I had at their Lewisham branch. Even the presentation was not great. No consistency between the restaurants.

Waited for two hours for fish. Bad service. Food not so good. Not recommended. Try somewhere else. It’s just a name, nothing exciting her. The worst restaurant I have been to so far in London.

I was at the restaurant today 25th October 2023 at around 15:20hrs. From where I sat, I heard and saw how Margaret a member of your staff dealt with customers in an exceptional and professional manner. I'm super impressed at her handling of the matter and the amicable manner at which she resolved it. I saw an unhappy customer smile and the customer and her friends said they will be visiting Enish again. Margaret is an outstanding member of staff that should be recognised for her professionalism, patience and disposition. It is customer service at its peak. What I saw today was so moving that I simply had to leave a review. Keep up the amazing training you give her staff members when it comes to customer service and satisfaction.👍

Been twice in the last month , music just a bit too loud whilst eating . Very hard to chat with the family . Ilford staff on point service 👏🏽👏🏽

Honestly I wish I could leave 0 stars. I ordered food from here, last night at around 10:30. I ordered grilled fish and jellof rice, pepper soup, peppered goat meat with rice and plantain and a few extras. 30 minutes after eating my fish and jollof I vomited everything up… I have been vomiting since. It’s now been 2 hours since I ate some of the food (I didn’t even eat all of it) and I have been vomiting constantly and the pain I am feeling in my stomach and the Diarrhoea is unbearable. I am now looking at heading to the hospital as I am vomiting up water and cannot keep anything down. I spent £80 with email for this? NEVER again. And as soon as I wake up in the morning I will be making a report with my hospital notes to the Redbridge food standards team. The food was either undercooked, cross contaminated or stale either way this place needs investigating.

I love Enish I’m a big fan, their food taste really good. However, the last couple of times when I’ve ordered they’ve missed items in my order or have given me the wrong order. They do refund if they’ve missed items or have given you the wrong order but it deters me from ordering online.

I made a telephone order for grilled goat meat. When i went to collect the food i was shocked at what I received for £10 wasnt even what i ordered. THREE big bone with little to no meat on them. Taste old like its been cooked days ago no flavour or spice. I went back for some spice she covered the whole thing in red sauce i tasted no pepper or spice. I regret going here and if you are not Nigerian dont go there they are not honest people. Im pissed to say the least. Waste of my money.

Went with a friend of mine who is a regular and we had a nice and simple experience. Our server Niyi was polite, prompt and efficient. The food came at a good time, was not too long a wait given we all ordered Abula (Amala, Ewedu, Gbegiri with assorted meat). The meat and shaki was soft, tasty and nice. The brukoto not as seasoned but you enjoy it with the soup. I like that they have a call button on the table number holder when ready to order or in need of something and a bill button too. Creative and doesn't make you stress in trying to get the attention of any server. The cutlery however when brought was a bit dusty and needed to be cleaned before use. As for parking, there are free spaces behind the building but there is also a parking lot behind where lidl is for anyone that might need it. All in all, I was satisfied and I would definitely be visiting again.

First Enish I’ve been to that I didn’t enjoy. Firstly the music is SOOO loud, gets louder every 20 minutes. Secondly they had no beef or lamb suya, the rice was not that flavourful and the plantain wasn’t nice. Enish is one of my favourite restaurants but this branch is not the one!

I ordered ayamase and assorted stew. 2 containers The food that arrived was barely half the container(which was a small one) with only 2 pieces beef and tripe, then topped with a layer of oil. For food that you charge £17 for a container, i expected better quality and more food like i experienced when I visited the resturant. Delivery is no value for money. Very disappointed and never ordering from you again.

Very nice Nigerian restaurant, first time visiting, the no frills menu does not do justice to the food served. The grilled Tilapia with plantain was amazing ,bit was absolutely humongous,pretty sure it weighed over 800 grams but it was well marinated throughout. Chapman drink for the kids was really good, they all liked it, pepper soup was yum all in all everything ordered was tasty. Servings are big and possibly could be shared.

This place is the epitome of a DISAPPOINTMENT! They might have a global presence, but could never be the type of restaurant that could obtain any sort of critical acclaim due to their inability to do what any restaurant should be doing as standard. My friend and i went to dinner at the Ilford branch and were shown to our seats by a security guard when we arrived. Once seated, not one single member of staff came to greet us, ask us what we wanted eat or drink, or even whether we'd been attended to. They were ALL on their phones. Every single one of them, as you can see in the images. We sat (too) patiently for almost an hour before walking out. The security guard begged us to stay as he saw us leave. Why would we pay for such appalling service?! Mr & Mrs Medupin, please start focusing on the quality of your food, service and customer experience, as opposed to the quantity of restaurants you own. The people paying their hard earned money to put your business on the map deserve waaaaaaay better!

My biggest problem with Nigerian returants is how long they take to serve your food. But that was not the case here. Food was amazing, service amazing, atmosphere amazing... Swift and amazing service.

I was here yesterday for a friend's birthday 🎂 🥳 🎉. It's beautiful to behold from entering into the restaurant, and inside is stunning. The service was fantastic, too. The food was okay. But my favourite was the platter, Suya. The lady D that srved out table was great.

When you need african dishes. This is the place to be. Nigerian dishes are served here the way you want it.

The customer service is very poor, the atmosphere is horrible, it was too dark in there. The toilets where dirty. The food was cold and over priced; 3 wings for £10!!! And charged us for plastic takeaway boxes.

ENISH ILFORD: AVOID! I would give it a NO star if that was available but let’s leave it at 1-star at least for our server who was polite! Food was horrible! The asun was fried meat in watery gravy. The suya, was not suya-ing and like a pinch of meat. The presentation for the fish was POOR plus fish arrived within 3 minutes of being seated which meant they were already cooked and probably warmed. Fish was definitely NOT fresh. Some came out without the tails and the peppers for garnish looked like the were pulled from the freezer. At least make a good presentation! The edikaikong I could throw up. HORRIBLE! For that price I would rather not have 2-3 tablespoons of spinach as a substitute waterleaf and Ugwu with just one beef. I mean I could go on but…

Loved it here! Vibes were great and everything was timely, the staff was hospitable and shoutout to Debbie who was our waitress. Portions leave you well fed and not too pricy. Would come again!

1st time at this place, and it was fantastic from the pleasant welcomeing staff from the door men to the waiters n waitress and very attentive I had eaten African food be4 but my friend never eaten African food be4 and he was highly impressed even the other customers was friendly and nice . My friend order fish it cam with a nice spicy tomato sauce and plantain he loved it to the sun n back lol an he had white rum double, i had beef stew and jollof rice the meat was soft and tasty an the tomato stew sauce was spicy but not to hot but lovely and I had a beer when I mean finger licking it was very very nice and the presentation was amazing also I was so impressed they had a hand was bastion to wash your hands before n after u eat fantastic. From other African cuisine I've tasted this was my favourite n I will surly go back again and spend the word around about this place for sure its a 10/10 for flavours, ambiance, staff, music, decor ok price is high but worth every penny to me its a must go to experience..... Our experience was good. Staff were friendly and helpful and professional. The food was good and arrived promptly. The DJ was fine and added a little bit of atmosphere. Decor needs some attention as does some of the facilities.

Went on a bustling saturday night for a friends birthday. We were looked after by Okeh who was an excellent hostess and attentive even though it was busy. The food came out quite promptly (with the exception of an order of Pounded Yam and Efo which took about 25 minutes) and overall was tasty. The lights came off and it turnt into lounge vibes around 10pm and the DJ came on around 10.30/11pm. He was spinning tunes and everyone was up and dancing until we left around midnight. Overall a good night out, it was less busy than i anticipated for a Saturday night but it was still a vibe.

Use to be very rude over the phone but they have improved a bit, because I just ordered today, after I stopped going there for two years, and was surprised when the lady picked and said hello. I had to look at the phone to see if I dialled the right number But not surprised as even the manager use to look confused and never says hello However. In regards to the food, it’s definitely not worth the price and food not up to standard I use to love their ogbono soup but in tasting it today June’23, it has taken a dive, maybe they have a different cook now. They can definitely do far better for the obscene amount they charge Even the amount you get for the overinflated price is very mediocre. If it is expensive but tasteful, then one would understand and overlook the cost. They fall short in both Quality and Quantity in my opinion but the ambiance of the place is not bad

Really loved Enish Ilford. The setting was great, the ambience fantastic and the food was wow! The staff were also brilliant, from the security man at the door to those who attended our table. But be warned - the food is not cheap! I hope to go back at some point but not soon. The reason I did not score 5 stars was the music. It started off well but as the night went on they kept putting up the volume, to the point that we could no longer have a conversation at our table. We just couldn't hear ourselves anymore over the sound of the music. That was a real downer.

The food here isn't fresh, isn't spicy and just ain't all that. We had pounded yam with various stews (the abula was so basic). The grilled fish wasn't fresh, I could actually see the holes on the stew on top of the fish showing tray they reheated it in the microwave. God knows when the fish was cooked, but the edges were quite hard too! They also only had overripe plantain, and didn't have any hard plantain which isn't ideal for grilled fish with fried stew. I came here before and remember the amala being reheated so I intentionally didn't order that, even the waiter advised that it won't be fresh when ordering again today (I had pounded yam instead) They could also be better at bringing food for one table out together. One of our guests waiting about 30 mins for her food while others on other tables were getting theirs ahead of her The asun and suya also wasn't spicy, at all lol Long story short, we won't be coming again cus we like great food and this ain't it

Second visit - a takeout order of edikang ikong was THE worst edikang ikong ever. Looked nothing like the dish. Enormous amount of pepper made it inedible. Normally vibrant green and soft ugu leaves were instead a dull green wilted mush - looked and tasted like ordinary supermarket spinach. Totally disappointing. One of THE best edikang ikong I have eaten outside of Nigeria. Food service was fast. Staff were lovely. Decor …. interesting ☺️ Really loved the food and restaurant.

Oke and Ade attended to me. Fantastic duo. For the volume of the meal served, I was thinking my bill was gonna be insane, but surprisingly, it was so so so reasonable. Giving 5 Stars!

Very disappointed with the Isiewu I ordered as take away last week. You would think that the food was meant for a dog. The Isiewu contained very big bones and nothing else. I have never wasted £30 as I did at Enish. I am so disappointed and will not return. I will also not recommend Enish Ilford in future. Total disaster. Absolute disgrace.
