The welcome was more than simply friendly, we felt special! The first thing that struck me was how clean everything was, you could of eaten off the floor. Though we only had cups of tea and didn't try the inviting menu, I feel confident that you would get the best quality and value meal. If you are in Holyhead, please call in and be assured of a great welcome and service.

We had breakfast here almost every day during our stay in Holyhead, and the food is great and yet very affordable. The best thing about the cafe, though, are the staff, who always greeted us with a smile!

Empire Café is where you can find all the locals. Classic menu with decent food and good portions. Per chi è straniere, vale la pena come esperienza locale.

Recently visited and although it was your average greasy spoon caffe with cheap menu options choices were limited and it was a case of you get what you pay for food wise. The burgers were however delicious but wasn’t ruined by toasting the bun maybe in future give the option to customer? Customer service was however great with staff going out their way to help you! Clean, cheap and pleasant perfect for a quick cheap dinner/breakfast

Not bad, but very poor quality bacon and deep fried sausages ! Not properly fried fresh. Disappointing. Average greasy spoon cafe but ok.

We'd stopped by here in between getting off a boat from Dublin and getting a train and hour and half later. We had our order taken by a pleasant but overworked lady. After waiting, and waiting and seeing everyone who'd came in after us get served, I had to request that our order was put into takeaway boxes in order to make the train. Even this took longer than it should. It transpired that we made our train with minutes to spare after rushing back through the town. Half our portion had spilt out of the box by the time we could eat. It may be a nice place if you've plenty of time to wait!

We stayed in Holyhead for the night and had to catch a ferry to Ireland in the morning. Our B&B had no breakfast available however the Empire Cafe was close by and recommended to us. Good decision. The place was almost full of locals but we got a table and were served promptly. Good food, good service, friendly staff and close to our hotel. What more do you need>

Did not see Holyhead at its best as weather was cold and grey so looked for somewhere to have lunch before returning to our holiday cottage and its woodburning stove. Empire Cafe was open - many places were not! Staff were very welcoming and we soon had a hot mug of tea in front of us followed by a freshly made sandwich - just what we wanted! Breakfasts looked very interesting and good but had already eaten in the morning and had plans to eat out in the evening too so dare not try them! Really good price for lunch as well so that added to the experience. Left Holyhead with a more positive view of the place thanks to the Empire!

I've been going to this place now since just before Christmas last and it's a really decent place to go for a morning or afternoon fry up. £5 gets you two bacon, egg, beans, black pudding, mushrooms, tomato, fried bread, two sausages and two prices of toast which is good value for money. Plus a mug of tea is only 90p. This place isn't a fancy place but if your after a decent good fry up you can't go wrong with the Empire Caffi.

Brilliant food and reasonable price. But staff and customer service needs improving. I visit this cafe very often with friends and family, worth the price for the quality.

I especially love their milky coffee. Good British scram feed. I only eat small portions, but they serve the small amount I want and charge me accordingly. It's usually full - a good recommendation in it's self.

We had to come back, a breakfast and casserole this time. Bang on splendid and good value food plus plenty of the chat too. It is a splendid Caff so it is. We had a meal last night that was 4 times the price of the Empire repast and nowhere near as good. Spot on ladies and keep serving the nut free meals.

Returned after a few months, but little change for the better. Glass of water from the tap (is that legal?) - and toast 7 minutes before rest of food. I have a problem with polypropylene chairs - they're not just uncomfortable, because a shade too low for dining height, but also they just don't 'go' with the (slightly oval) pine tables - which are STICKY because the wood has not been treated properly. Complete new set of tables and chairs required!

Overpriced for the size of the portions. Long wait while breakfast is cooked, and yet the toast is brought almost immediately. Result: hot breakfast with cold toast. When I asked for the 2 together I got grumpy compliance. Yet another establishment that finds it difficult to provide sparkling mineral water, and a bit 'hit and miss' vis-a-vis the well (i.e. expertly) fried egg.

We needed filling up having had a token toast breakfast several hours earlier . Piled plates arrived, orange juice, mugs of hot tea and a mound of toast. Let me be plain. This establishment does the job like no other. Good bacon, decent bangers, proper fried bread, nice black pud and everything hot, freshly cooked and perfectly done. Now that would be enough to draw praise and approbation, but there's more. These fine ladies do not run a cafe but an institution. Here you will find the true spirit of Holyhead, Great banter, a bright atmosphere, wholesome tasty food, friendly people with time to chat and if you have the time to dwell awhile, they will surely make you smile. We left rather stuffed, so took a stroll along the breakwater to ease the tightness of our waistbands. Its a couple of miles all the way to the end and back. To little avail. Now we are home dinner is out of the question I'm afraid, we may well have a light breakfast tomorrow but nothing before then.Go to the Empire Cafe, go on, do it........... It is certainly one of the best. A classic real down to earth honest to goodness genuine home from home mothers kitchen.

was in Holyhead for a training day and forgot my sandwiches, so off I went mooching. The first place I came across was this little gem. Not a lot to look at from the outside and the inside reminded me of the cafe in Last of the Summer Wine. I was greeted like a long term customer and ordered myself the £5 breakfast (I hadnt eaten that morning!!) It was HUGE and included blackpudding and fried bread - that's like the Holy Grail of the cooked breakfast world. It was such a great place I accidentally forgot my lunch the next day and went back for the fish fingers and mash.

After walking through Holyhead I went back to here. The place is spotless and has local pics on the wall. It is a very local place which shows it is good. Staff are great, friendly, child friendly, clean and fast. I had a breakfast yesterday. One of the best I ever had and cheap. If u need a meal then it's great on the pocket and good food. Great coffee I will go again.

First it is open to non-members. We were able to request the components of our breakfasts. Basically my wife prefers bacon, and I prefer sausages. Everything came freshly prepared, well cooked, and thoroughly enjoyable. A nice touch was my wife’s coffee had space for the milk, as requested; whereas I requested black, and it had been topped up with hot water. Everyone was friendly and helpful. It was very quiet, we were the only ones. However our experience was exploratory to find a place we could recommend for a breakfast to forthcoming visitors to Trearddur Bay. It filled the bill.

We enjoyed some fresh paninis at the cafe and the coffee was brilliant. The best part was the cookie pie that we give 10/10, the sweet treats were on another level. Fabulous quality and really friendly staff🧁The perfect pit stop after a coastal walk.

Terrible food and service, Paid £20 for two breakfast to takeaway at van on pentreath stretch, and didn't get everything that should of been in breakfast box and sent message to let them know whats missing and was told ( we had run out of mushrooms that's why they wasn't in the box... ) and I said I understand that places can run out but should tell people before paying and leaving with what thought should be everything, and she opened message and ignored me so I left it to following day for reply but nothing and still spoke with such attitude and saying having mushrooms missing from breakfast etc doesn't warrant refund enjoy your day as if to end of conversation. no apology and not letting me know beforehand could have changed things. but she doesn't care just wants money. Definitely not worth paying £20 for two sloppy breakfast and raw cheap sausages, will be going eles were everywhere else you get alot more for money and don't get spoken to like that and can actually have proper coffee and not in folding cardboard lids that burnt myself while drinking but she didn't care for either.
