Empire in Fife

The calzones no longer holds up anymore. I used to drive up to an hour just to get a calzone from empire. The new owners have changed the recipe. Firstly, the chili sauce is now a cheap rubbish sweet and sour sauce, and they also no longer add the side salad. The chips cheese n curry sauce used to be good. I'm also assuming they've gone for cheaper ingredients for that too. The garlic pizza bread is literally just a bit of bread with little to none garlic butter sauce on it. Empire used to stand out from all the other takeaways, but its a shame to see the new owners no longer care about the quality of their food, but are far more interested in profits.

I had to argue tooth and nail to get a refund, I ordered off their online app. I waited until 10 minutes after its due time, and called to ask where my order was, and was informed they don't deliver after 11:30. There is no information pertaining to this on there app. I demanded a refund and was told I'll get it tomorrow. Probably in the hop I trusted in that and they just rip me off. I went up to the outlet and demanded an immediate cash refund, I was refused this initially, but got their flyer waved in my face saying it says on their flyer they don't deliver after certain time, that's great to know, but as I tried to explain to the staff for the third time at least, I ordered through their app which did not state a cut off time and allowed me to place a delivered order. I got my refund after being patronised by the staff. Tbh I was just trying this place out on whim as they used to run dervish. Dervish had very greasy pizzas and questionable kebab meat. So I'd imagine "new" empire will be equally atrocious, but as I will never be back I'll never know. Incidentally since taking over that business they are still using the food hygiene award from the previous owners, and according to the food standards website, have had no recent form of inspection. Probably glad I didn't get the food now tbh. Dervish failed and so will this!

Wonderful staff and the most takeaway takeaway in st Andrews I'd happily recommend it to anyone who likes prices that aren't scalping you due to the student population, though they aren't truthful on their pizza sizes with the 16's looking to be a couple inches smaller than advertised All in all a pretty solid takeaway that gives off a old school vibe.

Waited 1 hr 30 minutes and did not receive my order, after enquiring he said you no pay? What a joke. He got 1 star be cause I couldn't give less. They do the best calzone pizza in town though so it's no awe bad. X

My go to place for donor meat and chips. The best in town.

Go to after a night out in St Andrews. Their donner kebab is something special.

Chips were good. The cheese burger had some onions and a square of processed cheese...was ok. Owner was friendly enough. This was a cash only shop no chip'n pin.

I had my favourite lamb shish kebab again tonight and it was fab as usual. The lamb is so tender .

just got 2 pizzas one spicy chicken and 1 Dona kebab and both of them where disgusting tasted like glou or some sort of plastic waset going to have anything as last time I got chicken pecoras and the grease from the chiper was bad and tasted like chips but thought it was just me as had bit to drink but this time am sober and tasted rank if it wasent to late at night I would be going up to demand my money back please don't eat from here people

Bought a pizza didn't open it till I got home to discover it was covered in pasta and hardly any cheese it was rank I won't be back

Great wee takeaway. Frequent visitors as we are on holiday here all the time. Recommend kebabs, pizzas and burgers. All great food. Personal fav is turkish burger, its Fully loaded...

Honestly, their Doner Kebab is the best I have tried in my entire life. I can't just get enough of it. I tried their chicken kebab and pizza and they are also very good. Fully recommended!!

Chicken kebab was ok but the accompanying salad was old and rotting. The food and hygiene standards people ought to investigate this place. Not recommended.

Chicken kebab very good. Big lumps of tender chicken. Chicken pakora good too. Salad braw and crispy.
