My rating is very low because I left with the desire to try the empanadas on the website that closes at 8 and at 7:05 it was already closed and the staff told me that they couldn't extend my time.

Absolutely loved the food here! We got the black bean and cheese empanada, and the chipotle pulled pork. Both were freshly made, with a nicely browned, slightly crunchy, yet pillowy crust. The chipotle pork was juicy, perfectly seasoned and well balanced. The beans and cheese were yummy. We also got the tequenos (dough-wrapped mozzarella sticks), again, lovely texture. Would recommend getting the spicy, Colombian salsa. Great food, great value. Will definitely be back here soon!

Update: recently renovated and looking nice and smart inside, but WHAT has happened to the menu??! All the Arepas which were so brilliant (below) have now gone, and the menu is about a third of the size. Really really disappointing and now nowhere near the variety and great dishes as before. A few people came in to order when I was there and walked out when they read the new menu. Please consider getting these back! 🙏 Maybe the best takeaway on Leith Walk - beautiful pulled beef, creamy avocado, amazing empanadas. Just perfect and completely consistent every time. Love it 🚀

TEMPORARILY CLOSED We ate here last year and it’s very delicious, but apparently they are temporarily closed which isn’t mentioned anywhere. We were in Scotland again and took a tram ride, just to stand before a closed restaurant.

Mouthwatering empanadas, that taste just like Mami Mila’s (brother in-laws mom from Bogotá) I am visiting from Hawaii and I passed by the restaurant as I got off the tram and was so happy to see Arepa’s and Empanada’s!! I ordered a beef empanada, chicken empanada, and a beef and mozzarella arepa and 🤤🫠 They were so good they took me back to my time as an exchange student in Venezuela in 1994 where I had my first arepas and empanadas. These are the real deal. I’ll be back many times before I leave Edinburgh. Also, the people who own and run the restaurant are so lovely!

Its was my second time being in this place and it was as good as the first. Purchased 2 empanadas and they were outstanding . I am only in the city for a short time but i will be back to get a few more pulled chicken empanadas before i leave. Recommended highly 😀😀

Very tasty food. However, it did take a while for our arepa to be prepared. We weren't in a hurry and the guy was very friendly, but the time would be annoying if we were, especially when it is a takeaway. I understand the desire to make a fresh arepa. However, there must be a way to pre-prepare the dough somehow. Presumably this would also help with the profitability of the place, too. Good options for vegetarians and I believe they can also do vegan options.

Very delicious food, which stills your hunger. The service person (I guess the owner) was very friendly and treated us, his guests, like kings. I would recommend everyone to come here! Only issue was, that the temperature inside was kinda hot, but thats no problem

Foods really good, the staff are great. Only downside is if you have any fave items on the menu you better hope it's in stock as everything I liked best was not available ( pabellon empanadas and tequenos ). Besides that one of the best food spots in leith.

First time here and it's the first time I've ever tried Latin food. I got a Beef Pabbelon empanada, I didn't know what to expect but it was honestly amazing. I wish I had got 2 because I wolfed it down. I'll be back to try some more from the menu that's for sure. Oh and the Colombian Aji salsa was superb.

Fabulous comforting food! I’m a vegetarian and really love their available options. Empanadas (cheese, lentil and black bean) are all yummy and veggie friendly. Homemade sauces and salsas are out of this world. Has quickly become my favourite local takeaway. Unique compared to other places around and such a wee gem!

My friends recommended this Latin American dishes for takeaways located in leith walk. Empanadas are so warm and flavorful I think it’s the great snack/meal to warm up the day. Reina pepiada served cold filling which I enjoy but personally still prefer warm meal in Edinburgh’s chilly and windy day. Pabellón criollo is my star which can be shared for 2 rice and plantain with beef combined with the Colombian Ali (spicy salsa) is so delicious. Recommended to try once you visit leith neighborhood.

Food is always amazing, this is one of my favourite places to eat. Highlights for me are the tequeños and the lentil empanada but we also often order an arepa, cachapa or empanadas, all of them are delicious!

Absolutely wonderful portion sizes and great taste. The cachapa can feed 2 people if you have a moderate appetite. Or one if you’re very hungry. I highly recommend ordering the yuca fries. The sauces they make are absolutely amazing and authentic. It can be difficult to get authentic Latino food in Edinburgh and this is a spot you just can’t miss. If you’re feeling desert, make sure to get a tres leches cake as well.

I can't go on enough about the Arepa Pabellion, it was awesome - the perfect thing to finish a long day off with. Pulled beef, black beans, plantain and cheese all stuffed into a patty pouch, truly delicious.

I always try to find Venezuelan restaurants when I travel to remind me of home. I’m so happy I found this restaurant. Everything was delicious and it was the first time I had empanadas that reminded me of my childhood!

Listen, this place is INCREDIBLE. If I could eat here everyday, I would. I always get empanadas here and they are honestly so good that sometimes I gasp out loud. They have other options too which I’ve not yet tried because the empanadas are SO good. I usually get the Colombian style (which are smaller) and the Pabellon and HOLY cow. I usually grab a mixture to take home for dinner and I’ve never been disappointed. I think they have delivery options but it mostly take away. The staff are always so nice to me when I’m in there and last night we got a free dessert to try Alfajore and OMG so so so good. One of the ladies was telling us how to make it and I def want to try (or, I’ll just go back to get more 😇 ). Really really great quality and authentically beautiful food. I can’t recommend this place enough.

Go here now! Delicious food just waiting to make your acquaintance. Yes the roads are terrible and parking can be a nightmare, but park around the corner...walk 5 minutes to an amusement park for your tastebuds. 1st, the tres leches is sweet and moist, you can tell it was made with love. 2nd, the colimbian aji hot (2 chili pepper spicy) salsa is very flavorful and has a good kick. The empanadas are delicious and makes you think about home, we had the traditional Colombian beef and potato...so good. The pabellón cachapa was deliciously made and had so many flavor profiles. The areas are massive and impressive, the flavor knocks your socks off. Staff are very friendly and service is very quick. Sadly no room to eat, must take away.

Looks like the food is good, went to Edinburgh with the family, two birthdays, we were quite a group bit unfortunately kept calling, they never picked the phone, we reached the place, it looked closed, we walked because we wanted to eat sometime nice, latino food, the guys who came out was a bit rude when we asked for Plantain which was advertised on the Website @Google and @TripAdvisor, he just said they don't do it, we said we saw it on the pictures, he replied he also saw the virgin in a picture... so very funny... also there there a take away ONLY!!!

Three of us got a different arepa each (essentially hot, filled cornmeal rolls) which were pretty awesome, a lot of food for the price and hearty ingredients so great for a quick bite before a night out. The yucca fries were also pretty cool, like a sweeter potato and the sauce that came with them was great. Definitely should've gotten a salsa to share.

Such good food! I had an Arepa Pabellón and a mini empanada from here and both were absolutely amazing. I've also had their yuca fries from here before and they are also top notch 👌. Amazing place to get your arepas (cornmeal sandwiches) my favourite, pulled beef with avocado (if eating at home, with generous amounts of Cholula sauce) Cachapa is great too, with that bit of sweetness that contrasts so well with the rest of filings (but is so big I cannot eat it all). I would like to try their breakfasts one day too. Great place and good quality meats. The staff is really friendly and want you to enjoy their food.

I absolutely love the chicken empanadas in here, they’re the best I’ve had. It was my first time trying alfajores as well, and I was obsessed with the texture. You can see the kitchen from the front of the house, which I always appreciate, and the staff were really friendly. I’ve been here twice, once a delivery, and once a takeaway.

So good! Hits the spot like a deliciously dirty burger but is lighter and more deliciousl. Had the chicken exquisite which was great and a beef cachapa which was also great and enormous - nice sweetcorn pancake and tons of beef in it, nice bit of spice

One of the best street food I have ever taste anywhere and not knly in Edinburgh. The beef, amazing. The chicken, amazing. The traditional bread, one of a kind. The people working friendly, chatty and like the food the make they are amazing as well. Definitely a must try in Edinburgh. Keep up the great job. Well done guys.

This place is an absolute hidden gem in Edinburgh - Was stuck for choice for dinner and was boring of the classic Mexican so decided to try here. Empanadas absolutely fantastic! The pancake dish with the fried plantain was great also. The condensed milk cake was probably the best dessert I’ve had for a very long time.
