Ember in Wellingborough

Superb cocktail bar (no 13) followed by Ember for food! Honestly Michelin star quality without the price tag, loved every minute. And I got told I look like Carl Froch (I’ll take it 😂)

Heard a lot of great things about this place and it didn’t disappoint. If you’re adventurous then this is definitely the place for you. The food combination was unusual but clever and creatively thought out! It’s on the expensive side but definitely worth the experience! Would recommend

The food was amazing. We did the tasting menu which was such a great experience, tasting so many great courses and getting to interact with the chefs. Who knew you could make a bit lettuce taste so good. They also were happy to make changes to the menu to accommodate our needs. Especially helpful for my gluten free wife.

My partner and I went to Ember yesterday for our anniversary. We had the 7 course tasting menu and it was superb. We were blown away by the tuna and scallops as both of which we would never order but this restaurant has made us love them. Fantastic environment, very dedicated staff and brilliant food. What a wonderful evening. Will definitely be back!

Phenomenal food and brilliant service. Great to see such passionate chefs at work and talking you through the dishes. Also the best cooked scallops I’ve ever eaten, and the miso sticky toffee pudding were both major highlights!

This was my first time at Ember and I didn't know what to expect...but, I can't fault any part of my evening whatsoever. The service was attentive & professional, the food was exquisite, the atmosphere was so enjoyable and I cannot wait to take everyone I know here for an incredible evening.

Food was amazing as always the restaurant was relaxed with a lovely atmosphere and staff took time to make sure we had explanations about the food . We love coming to Ember and it’s now our go to for family celebrations. There’s so much skill in what they do I would recommend them to anyone we are so lucky to have somewhere like Ember to go to

Been here a few times and can't fault the food but I was a bit put out by the service. Firstly we were a bit early and shown to the cocktail lounge to wait. Naturally we thought that we would have a drink, only to discover that we couldn't then take this back to the restaurant so had to hastily gulp down some wine, not very helpful. OK the restaurant is good and the food excellent but finding that I had been charged £18 for a glass of Chardonnay, was this house wine? It's only £12 at your other restaurant, the 4 Pears????. Not very happy!

I was very lucky to be taken here for my birthday, and it did not disappoint. We had a truly excellent meal and the staff were very friendly.

Visited Saturday 12.30 pm for normal dining. Not busy until 1.30pm. Visited almost two years ago. It’s still brilliant. The ambience is perfect. Spot on decor and the sound and smell of the wood burning barbecue is lovely. The food is excellent. Sensibly priced. We over ordered. Order less then ask for another dish if you need it. For two I’d recommend one from the snack two of either meat or fish and two vegetables. The peppers are superb. Pork perfect. Monk fish devine. Chicken was also lovely. Potato dish could serve three easily. Possibly four. Three large whole carrots. The cabbage dish was a tad too spiced for me. Good selection of drinks. Bottles are priced fairly. Cocktails delicious. Two of the same for one but not to share? My mocktail was excellent. Attentive staff. DJ in the corner. Excellent food. Wonderful place. We will return soon with friends.

Visited with some friends last night. We chose the set menu. I loved all the little dishes which were presented beautifully and explained by the staff. The staff and ambience was really lovely and well appreciated. Look forward to coming back and trying some off the tapas menu.

Given the general culinary wasteland that is Wellingborough this is an unbelievable gem. Fusion tapas, an incredibly creative and original menu with a lot of choice. And all wood fired. Service is friendly and quick, and there’s a good ambience with a great soundtrack. And given all that, it is very reasonably priced

My family and I visited for lunch and we were blown away. The staff were friendly and attentive. Every single item we ate was exquisite with mouth watering flavours. The drinks were delicious. We can’t wait to come back and visit again.

Had pre drinks at No 13, which whilst pleasant enough felt a bit like a holding pen for the restaurant. Could do with losing a few chairs and a bit more imagination in the lighting and decor. Not sure why pre-booking is necessary as Friday night 7pm it was pretty dead. Ordered a craft beer which was poured into what looked like a wine glass so I was left with a beer can on the table to pour myself. Bit amateur. To the meal. Menu felt a bit smaller than usual. Duck was very good, as was beef albeit the portion on the latter was extremely small for the price. Love the carrot dish but again we were handed a ridiculously small portion; we ordered another and it was 4 times the size but under-done. Pork belly was very good but again there is real inconsistency on portion sizes from visit to visit (sometimes too big as well). Service was attentive. The waitresses are generally quite young so whilst they are very polite, some lack the confidence to engage in conversation. Could perhaps benefit from a more experienced front of house being present.After 9.30 there was a ‘packing up’ vibe going on and the waitress was keen to try and send us back off to no 13 to finish the evening. Overall a very pleasant evening. I do really hope that they are able to continue to keep high standards of both service and food Going forward as I still think they are one of the best offerings in the area.

Amazing from start to finish!😍 We went for the chefs testing menu and it was an amazing variety of different dishes with so many flavours and twists! Our personal favourite was the scallops which were out of this world! The atmosphere and service were second to none! We were checked on throughout the night to make sure we were enjoying the evening and I couldn’t fault a single moment of our experience. We will be 100% returning to try our Bar No.13 soon! Me and my partner came on a Saturday evening for his birthday. The staff made us feel so welcome and special even giving us a candle in our sticky toffee which was also one of the best things we’ve ever eaten!! I also recommend to anybody to try the focaccia bread there that was my favourite! Will be returning soon

What a treat, NYE was fantastic. Different foods that wouldn’t normally try, was very impressed. Looking forward to returning with my husband for the normal menu.

Cozy intimate restaurant with open plan kitchen, lovely to see your meal being prepared by people who obviously care about what they do.

The venue tries to portray itself as a leading establishment but the standard of service and the quality of the food falls short of expectations. Essentially they want to good, but in reality are only average and ultimately it flatters to deceive.

Been wanting to try this place for a while but thought it was very average and over priced for what it was. Beef tacos were bland and fell apart and the flat iron steak was very basic. Scallops were the only thing I’d reccomend. Wasn’t a fan of the counter seating either.

Very overrated. Definitely not worth the money charged. No side dishes on offer, steak piece very tough and almost in-edible. Couldn’t recommend or return.

From start to finish the meal and experience was wonderful. A great place run by humans, the passion and dedication shines through. Great food and drink and a lovely buzz about the place.
