Went for the Sunday carvery. It was awful. The meat was very dry, soggy, tasteless vegetables, and the yorkshire puds were made with some strange mix that made them dark yellow and rubbery. Never again! The staff were very efficient and attentive. The pub was extremely noisy, and people let their kids run around in and out the outside door, which they didn't know how to close. Very annoying!

Although living only a few miles away, we had never been to the Miller. It is hidden away in Wellingborough, I think you have to know about it to make a visit. We had a spur of the moment mid week lunch. It was quiet, only a few tables in use, but we had a table by the window, lovely decor and carpets, & spotlessly clean. We ordered drinks - only one real ale on tap - and were served straight away. Very attentive staff. The menu had the usual pub fayre, with summer salads & burgers also on offer. I had the chicken & chirozo pasta, and my husband had the steak & ale pie. Both were nicely served and presented; they were delicious with two clean plates afterwards. Maybe a better vegetable than peas with the pie could have been on offer. We had no room for dessert so didn't look at the menu. Ladies toilets were okay, in need of a refurb which could well be on the cards as everywhere else looks to be recently updated. I'm sure we'll make a return visit with friends at some point.

Don’t bother… Arrived to an almost empty restaurant. On the side was a list of tables they had booked. 6 bookings across the evening but when we asked for a table of 6 we were told they had no spaces ?? And we would have to wait for 1.5 hours The restaurant was completely empty and we could see from the list that 2/4 booking in that night had already been and gone and that the next table due was in 3 hours ?? We got a drink and sat outside. It is not as the pictures say it is. Broken benches overgrown. Staff were not very helpful we wondered around the restaurant after getting a few drinks walking past several members of staff looking for the exit to the garden. Staff watched us try locked doors and not one pointed us in the right direction.. after 40 mins outside not one person has arrived to fill those 70 plus tables tables.. I'm pretty sure the owners would be disappointed to find staff are turning customers away on quiet Saturdays.

Great pup type eatery to come to and has a children's menu. The service was friendly but the food did take a while however it tasted fresh so I was happy with that. Reasonable prices good food and a chilled atmosphere. I also like the location and noted an outside area that kids could play or anyone could eat. Also ample parking. If in the area I will go again.

came here with my family, recommended to everyone, been coming here for years especially in the summer. ordered a steak (£25) medium rare and it came out well done. Waitress bought it back out and told us it is medium rare. Didn't even offer to cook a new one the chef just said 'just give him the money back can't be bothered to argue' disgusting attitude from the chef will not be returning. Go somewhere else for a steak. Sat in the garden and can hear them moaning about us complaining.

Worst carvery ever. Went large but only 1 Yorkshire, no pigs in blankets. Almost Easter but no lamb. Queuing system is a joke, you wait for meat then stand in front of everyone in queue for potatoes, parsnips & golf ball hard stuffing balls. Beef tough as boots. Gravy as thin as my ale. Carrots in water so when you spoon them from counter they drip all over Mash. No idea what red liquid brocoli was in. Not even asked how meal was. Male member of staff that appears to do nothing apart from say he'll get waitress. Please avoid this place.

Unfortunately I have to say The Miller has gone downhill. We went on Mothers Day, expecting it to be busy, but after our visit I know why there were empty tables. Staff weren’t looking very happy, the young brunette girl who served us was quite rude actually! Carvery wasn’t very hot, not a massive selection of veg and beef was overcooked, although the roast potatoes were nice! Had to send 2 desserts back due to coming out incorrectly, but the apple crumble was nice. When issues were raised to the waiters they just brushed it off with attitude. Sorry to say we won’t be returning.

In winter it is very cold in back room, especially if there are few people sitting in it. It is difficult to book a table at the front where it is warm, tried a request twice but both times had to sit in the cold with my coat on. Best to visit in summer when it's warm. Friendly and well priced. The parsnips are heavenly. Pork crackling is great. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Lovely selection of wines. Choice of small, medium or large plate so can suit all appetites. Would be great to see lamb on the carvery more often.

On Friday 20th October I visited The Miller with a friend for food and drink and I have to say I was very disappointed with my meal. I felt the need to share my feedback. Before leaving this review I did email The Miller directly with my disappointment and it wasn’t even acknowledged so now I’m leaving one here. I ordered Ham, egg & chips from the menu with a side of onion rings and a few minutes later I was advised there was no ham left and I was offered gammon to which I accepted with no issues. When the meal arrived it came with a jacket potato! I said that the meal should come with chips and the gentleman questioned whether I ordered jacket potato. According to the menu that wasn’t an option it was Ham, egg & chips. The young girl who took our order then appeared with our sides and the gentleman advised her that I should have chips to which she apologised and said she would get that sorted. Some 4-5 minutes later someone came back to tell me my chips were on the way so I started to slowly eat what I had as it was going cold and the eggs were going hard. Nearly another 10 minutes later the chips arrived. My response at this point was that they were not really any good to me now as my dinner was nearly finished. To top that off, they were undercooked and virtually grey. When the man came to clear my table he asked did you not like/want the chips to which my response was that they were too late and I had nearly eaten the rest of my dinner when they arrived, they were also so hot that I would never have been able to eat them with the rest of my food anyway. What disappointed me the most was that there was no apology or any offer given to myself and my friend for the inconvenience caused. In theory I had half a meal (gammon & egg), a jacket potato that wasn’t even shown as an option on the menu as it was ”ham, egg & chips, no apology and no discount off my bill or a goodwill gesture. And to top it off the plates were cleared away from the table but the bowl of chips were left there until after we had paid and walked away despite us saying they were too late. I did not wish to create a fuss at the table because others were there eating their meals. I will say however that the bar was lovely and the man that served us there was lovely, polite and attentive.

So I had booked The Millers for a wake to celebrate the life of my late partner. She was a popular lady and with the buffet lunch that was ordered and the 100+ guests, I would have imagined that The Millers income for a random Wednesday afternoon was somewhat higher than normal. At first everything was okay, the food was acceptable and they said they could accommodate our numbers and this was true - just about. But then came the time when my 15 year old niece enquired with the bar staff about whether or not they had any gluten free crisps that my 7 year old daughter would be able to eat. She then received a packet of crisps being tossed at her across the bar and was very curtly instructed that she would have to ask the parent about that. I was curious about this excessively rude reply and approached the member of staff myself and I also received a similarly dismissive response; 'I cant read the ingredients, can you ?'. When being challenged about this style of response I was informed 'I am the owner and manager of The Millers, so if you have anything to say, then you can say it to me'. Well, I was saying it to her. A friend attempted to intervene on my behalf and explain that this was my wake and that perhaps and different way of handling the problem would be better. This caused 'The owner and manager' to seemingly loose all interest in us and the problem and walk away. That is my experience, I will leave others to draw their own conclusions. However as a direct comment to 'The owner and manager', if you are indeed the owner and manager, could I perhaps suggest that you consult UK law and the standards advised by the Food Standards Agency, which both clearly state and mandate that the onus on providing allergen information is yours, not your customers. Just to make your life a little easier I have included a couple of helpful links, should you wish to manage your establishment better. As an aside, I will be contacting the FSA and suggesting to them that you have little or no idea what allergens are, that you have no idea of your legal responsibility to provide allergen information on packaged and unpackaged food and that they perhaps might like to look at your allergen checklist and documented information you are required to supply customers on request. I had to remove the specific links to the guidance and applicable laws as they were falling foul of TripAdvisor's self promotion security. So you will need to do a little of the work yourself. Guidance ... Allergen guidance for food businesses on the Food Standards Agency website. The actual law ... Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011 of the European Parliament and of the Council, you can find this through a number of legislative or UK government websites. Thanks

We're fairly regular visitors here, but we had such a good meal recently, I thought I ought to share our experience. 2 adults, 2 teens, Friday evening meal. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere, great food and drinks at superb value. 1 teen did the standard carvery and really enjoyed a generous plate of food. The other teen had a burger which disappeared in short order! My partner and I both had rump steak, medium cooked. 1 x 8oz & 1 x 16oz. Both cracking pieces of meat, cooked to perfection and with no gristle or fat. End result, 4 x empty plates! Drinks were also fine and particularly good value. The waitress was extremely rude and very unhelpful, we were there to celebrate a family members birthday who is gluten intolerant we asked the waitress in question what was gluten free she replied that the nut roast was gluten free which we proceeded to order, I couldn’t recall seeing the gluten free sign on the online menu which made me query this again with another waiter he told us this was not at all gluten free! The waitress in question looked very uninterested and said we could have a plate of vegetables instead. At this we got up and walked out, gluten free is a medical requirement for some people and has to be taken seriously clearly this waitress and establishment have no knowledge and clearly just do not care!!

Lots of spaces to park although it seems to still get full. A garden out the back with a few children's play items. It gets very busy so it's better to book. You can do this online.. Come through the front door and wait to be seated. The waitress will then take your order, and if its carvery you get called up to the counter. Service was quite slow and we found ourselves waiting for ages before being called despite booking. You then have to queue at the carvery area which was quite packed as you're stood in the Isle. Food was OK, although the mash tasted like it has been blended 3 tines, and the potatoes had nearly completely hit the deck. The food was very soft and squidgy which goes along with their primary target audience which appears to be the older generation. It's a great place if you have hours to kill, sitting in a small room with quite a few pensioners. A quick Sunday lunch it isn't..... !

A plate came out about five minutes later with another pot of sauce, they had just taken the sauce off it and gave her the same steak back which we think had been washed the get the sauce off and according to the manager he had put the steak under the grill to burn the sauce off, which then left the steak over cooked!!!! We had no apology, the manger very abruptly stated that it was Friday and what was he meant to do about it???? My daughter sent the food back and had to sit and watch the rest of us finish our meals. We all ordered steaks each having different sauce. I ordered mine first and pesificly asked for them to check that the sauce that I wanted was gluten free which the server said it was. When the meals came out 2 of us were given the wrong sauce after one of the steaks was brought out with the wrong sides (which between us we switched) back to the sauce situation it wasn't until I poured the sauce onto the steak and taken a mouthful that I realised that it was the wrong sauce. We spoke to the servers and was told that it's ok I can still eat it. But it wasn't what I ordered and also I don't like what was in that sauce so wouldn't have ordered it in a million years. We asked for it to be sorted and within 5 minutes it was brought back out I realised that it was the original steak and questioned the fact with the server who confirmed that it was the original steak that I was given. So obviously the steak mushroom and tomato had been washed and brought back out so asked to speak to the manager who was very rude and said that he had not washed it but put it back on the grill and burnt off the sauce (so obviously would have then tasted like burnt sauce and wouldn't have been what I had ordered in the first place) rudely asked what I wanted him to do with the plate of food as it's a Friday night?when I said that I didn't want it he snatched it off the table and stormed off without any form of apology or offer of an alternative . He was extremely rude and quite aggressive in his mannerisms and he upset myself to the point that I could feel my PTSD getting triggered which I just about managed to control. So I sat there watching my family eat

White roll. No option for granary. £12.95. Total let down. Needs some mixed salad and coleslaw to bolster it. Others went for pub grub. Steak. Fish and chips. Gammon. Sausage and mash. All fine. Mediterranean vegetable tart was a much better salad option. Single zero beer. Service was attentive but the varied menu and selection choice resulted in a 40 min wait for food. Nice outside space to eat. Plenty of parking. Lots of seating inside. Table was sticky. Glasses kept sticking to table. Good for a large group and decent pub grub at fair price. Went for the Sunday roast. The service staff were very pleasant! The medium size roast came with 2 meats and unlimited sides. The meats were tasty, but the slices were pretty thin. I expected a thicker slice for the cost. Stayed for dessert which was delicious. Overall, a nice experience.

Surprisingly spacious pub with seating across a range of rooms including a conservatory and some garden seating. Not in the best location but this is hidden through it being situated in a dip which also cuts out some of the traffic noise from the A45. Good range of beers and tasty food

Service was brilliant and staff were lovely. Unfortunately the carvery was a bit of a let down. The vegetables were a little watery, like the gravy and the roast potato's were barely roasted. I have eaten here and enjoyed the food before many times so can only assume the kitchen was having an off day. I'd happily return again for other food and to give the carvery a second shot.

I visited the restaurant last night with my partner for the first time . I was told I couldn’t see the wine list as not one and no drinks list either . I asked what wine she had and she give me the different types of wine then I asked what make was it as didn’t wanna end up with echo falls rubbish to which she didn’t know , so I do think she needs more experience with drinks . However the food came out very quickly which was abit of a worry , however all the course was amazing both me and my partner was very impressed . A credit to the chefs u have . I will be going back just for the food as think it’s the best in Wellingborough .

I feel I needed to write this review because of the un fair review that has previously been left. We visited The Miller the same day and I actually told the waitress she had handled the situation very well. Firstly our food was very nice and cooked perfectly. Both of the waitresss that looked after us, and many others I need to mention because they were very busy, looked after us very very well. The girls were very smiley and polite and both very hard working. I could not believe the terrible comments maybe there is just no pleasing some people. We won't hesitate to go back to The Miller. It was a great lunch, great service, and great atmosphere apart from the 'grumpy table'. Hospitality has had a terrible time over the last few years that is why I am writing this review because The Miller is a lovely place to go and th girls that work there are lovely too!!!

Don't bother! Buck your ideas up & get your staffing sorted. Want should have been a lovely family meal turned into a very disappointing one! Will be a long time before we step into your premises again. Piece of advice get your website updated!!

I’m pretty sure the Gammon steaks had been through the tanning process, you could have made a pair of shoes out of them, they were that tough. My son had a bare hamburger not even tomato sauce just a burger in a bun and a handful of stale chips (pretty sure they had be reheated from the day before) no beans or veggies. The waitress seemed to take exception at my 90 year old nana asking if the ham in the ham, egg and chips could be substituted due to them not having any ham left. Mandy looked at my nana (again 90 year old elderly woman) like she had just defecated on the table in front of her. She then marched off to complain (we heard the conversation) to her much more harder working colleague about the audacity of someone asking her an entirely valid question. Mandy then proceeded to spend the entire time looking like she was chewing on a wasps nest. No amount of pleasantries or please and thank you’s would elicit a polite response or even simple server curtesy. We gave up on desserts because she liked to take her own sweet time while her very pleasant colleague was running around obviously doing the lions share of the work. If only I had read the reviews on here, it could have saved us. One to avoid.

Called in for a pint or two after attending a cremation at the Crematorium opposite. A quiet time in the pub's day possibly, so not many people in and not really much of an atmosphere. Would maybe visit at a more busy time?

Nice looking place and quiet with fast service. For a starter we had squid in bread crumbs with halloumi sticks. And for the main we had chili concarne and I had gammon steak. Only disadvantage of this place is the location out of town.

Well cooked meat in the carvery today and vegetables up to the same standard as usual. I had the ice cream sundae for dessert. It is weird to say the ice cream was too cold... the perfect temp for ice cream is -5 it just seems like it came out of a normal freezer at -20. Not a complaint as my freezer is that temp too but I like to let it melt a bit before I eat it

Phenomenal food and brilliant service. Great to see such passionate chefs at work and talking you through the dishes. Also the best cooked scallops I’ve ever eaten, and the miso sticky toffee pudding
