EL&N London - Wardour Street in City of London, Westminster

Ordered a focaccia with mozzarella and tomato, worst I have ever eaten, far too bready, no taste, only one tomato, also ordered a lemon meringue tart, again, worst I have ever had, no flavour, boxed up upside down so completely squashed, and cost a whopping £7.50, won’t be going here again

Went here on the off, amazing food and nice friendly staff. Place was very clean and welcoming, good food and good price.

I went with my husband for cake knowing they offer gluten free options which are hard to find. The manager seated us and asked if we had any allergies I told her of my gluten allergy. She reassured me all her staff were trained to deal with allergies and said she would inform my waiter. When he came over I told him again and we discussed which desserts I could have, even discussing how sad I was as I would have loved the cheesecake which had gluten in it. I got half way through my cake when the manager came out with cakes for the table next to me and when she said “gluten free fruit cake” I could see it was not what I had been served. The table next to me looked confused and said they hadn’t ordered that… At his point both of us realised they had given me the wrong cake. The damage was done and although we didn’t pay for the cakes I spent three days wiped out in bed and another week recovering from the effects. My bank holiday weekend was ruined. Please don’t tell your customers you can deal with allergies and offer gluten free options unless you can ensure you and your staff take it seriously enough to serve the right cake. I complained to head office in writing from my sickbed on the day it happened Saturday 5th May 2024. I heard nothing from my email so three days later sent the email via DM on instagram. Still nothing. I chased again by email still nothing. Free cake and no response to my written complaint. Clearly your customers welfare does not concern you. Really disappointed, you’re just lucky I don’t need an epipen or an ambulance - just a bed, a week off work & an expensive Uber home…

I’d been having a rough day (my cat died last week), and I’m wandering around looking for a quiet place to get a coffee and cake before work to cheer myself up. I stumbled upon EL&N and went in alone. I just wanted to thank the lady who was serving my table, Sarah, who was really welcoming, chatty and put some light back into my day. And yes, the food was amazing and the vibes are so cute. I’ll definitely recommend and come back 💖 Also the chai latte and brownie was a dream!

So I went to EL&N last week in Wardour Street for a pre birthday treat, and it wasn’t what I expected! I went there and I loved the decor, but it’s the food that was the problem, and when the waitress came, I asked if they was any Pain Au Chocolate, and she said there wasn’t or even for a Plain Croissant, not that either and finally I asked about the Cinnamon Bun, and there wasn’t that either, no fries or even no pasta! However, when I checked the EL&N Wardour Street website, I showed her, and said those images was from a different branch, I’ve never heard of the waiters or waitresses in EL&N say that before when I go to order at Hans Crescent, Brompton Road or even Belgravia, so I thought it was a bit odd! Instead, she said the only croissants available were the rounded or cubed ones, and I didn’t like the look of any of them! I ended up trying the Rounded Croissant with Nutella, and I wasn’t a fan tbh! The amount of Nutella that was in the Croissant was too much, and it wasn’t to my liking at all, to be fair, the hype wasn’t all that and I wouldn’t come back again.

On a toutes adoré passer un moment entre filles chez El&n. En plus de manger dans un décor total girly, tout ce que l’on a commandé était excellent. Salé ou sucré les assiettes étaient toutes bien présentées et servies par un personnel très sympathique.

Très bon brunch, surprenant comparé aux brunchs 100% Bristish, on a du mal à terminer tant il est copieux ! On reviendra pour l'épisode sucré qui donne très envie 😋

We came across EL&N on a day out in London. Looks soo good from outside. I really didn’t know what to order as it all looked so good. We ordered a filled square croissant and a coffee cake. Both were good and a decent size. It was ok but wouldn’t be in a rush to go back

Per entrare, data la grande affluenza di persone che vengono attratte dalle bellissime vetrine, bisogna aspettare in fila finché non si libera un posto. L'interno è ampio e arredato con numerosi videogiochi vintage ai quali è possibile giocare a pagamento, lo ho preso un croissant cubico con crema Oreo che ho trovato buonissimo. I prezzi sono nella media e l'atmosfera è molto divertente.

Such a shame the food doesn’t meet the decor. Pancakes sadly not made fresh but packet bought and not the American ‘fluffy stack’ of pancakes described. Milk for the tea was slightly off so had to ask for another fresh one. The salmon croissant was not hot and pastry not flaky. Hash browns not crispy. Very sub-standard food unfortunately. Friendly staff but Very disappointing . Overall, if you want nice photos for Insta then please visit, if you want decent brunch/breakfast don’t bother!
