Recently stayed here to attend our friends wedding. The bar staff were not welcoming at all which started our stay off with a very uncomfortable vibe. The rooms are very dated and absolutely not what you would expect for a hotel that prides itself on being high end and accommodating. The overall feel of the Elfordleigh was that we weren't made to feel welcome, there was only one member of staff that I would praise and that is the lady who was running the floor for breakfast as she was fantastic! A lick of paint and new staff and they'd be halfway there.

I attended my friend's wedding evening. The venue was beautifully presented by the bride's company. Service at the bar was hit and miss but very expensive. The venue was uncomfortable due to the heat.

I hope to never come here again. Here with the hen do package; the lady basically told us not to reserve any seats as we were a group and other people in the pool need them! So we were just supposed to leave all our belongings on the FEW hangers they have- and leave our phones available for grabs? And have no place to sit as once we came in all the others rushed to take a seat. The staff are rude, the “spa” is mainly just a pool full of people screaming and breaking whatever rules they have left of the pool area, there’s nowhere to relax, went to complain and the staff basically said “this is a three star hotel what did you expect”, waste of money and time, the pool and windows are dirty and theres zero decorum anywhere, if you value your money and you’re looking for a relaxing time, go anywhere but here.

Wonderful hotel with really friendly staff. The rooms are really large. There seems to be a refurb going on as one of our parties rooms was of a much newer standard than another. Both very nice though. Breakfast was nice here - a little limited in items for a cooked breakfast but good choice across cooked and continental

My first time and last. Never going again. Chloe is rude, I would suggest her to find a job at Area 51 to find inner peace.

I am writing this review to express my concerns regarding a recent experience I had at the spa. During my visit, I encountered behavior that made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. Chloe would be suited far better as a snake milker then to be a manager at this Spa. Worst place and experience. Never going again. If I could rate 0 stars I would. Racist people in this spa, people give you dirty looks for looking a certain ethnicity. I believe that every customer deserves to be treated with respect and professionalism, regardless of their background or ethnicity. Unfortunately, the interactions I had with Chloe during my time at the spa left me feeling disrespected and unwelcome. It is important for businesses to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all customers. I believe that addressing issues of discrimination and racism is crucial in ensuring that everyone feels valued and respected. “As long as there is racial privilege, racism will never end.”

Absolutely wonderful experience at this hotel for a friend’s birthday celebration. Room was comfortable and clean, food good, spa very nice and staff excellent, especially Martina the reception manger, who went above and beyond when our taxi didn’t turn up to take us to the train station. Can’t thank you enough, Martina, and we will definitely be back, maybe for the murder mystery evening!

Fantastic first time experience. Where do I start, we stayed for two nights this weekend with our two young children 3 & 5 in the family room, both children with allergies and one on antibiotics. The staff were fantastic! They were caring and supportive and just absolutely brilliant helping us as much as possible. Nothing was too much. Holding the antibiotics in a safe fridge space throughout the stay and checking and catering to their allergies. My partner and I were both were able to have a treatment in the spa and the pools were lovely and warm for the children to enjoy swimming each day. We regularly take our children on little weekend trips away and the Elfordleigh has by far been our best experience for hotel stay by far. We are already looking forward to booking again later in the year. The food was fantastic and delicious, especially the English breakfast. We have already recommended to family and friends and would say not to hesitate in booking up. 5 star family service in a beautiful hotel.

Such friendly staff, we received a warm welcome. The rooms were large and had everything one needed. The interior was not modern, but that did not bother us at all. Sufficient parking in a beautiful and quiet area. The hotel had many signs of wear, but was very clean and this also applies to the rooms. The location is close to the nature reserve and 15 minutes from Plymouth. We will definitely be back👌👌 Keep up the good work

A Lovely hotel! The service was outstanding! staff were friendly and happy to help. The receptionist was really welcoming and couldn’t do enough for us! The location of this hotel is perfect, on the edge of Dartmoor but just a stone throws away from the city, So quiet and peaceful. Lovely grounds to walk around with stunning views. Our room was spacious, clean and warm. Huge sized rooms that contain everything you'd need during your stay which included a detailed welcome pack. We had a huge bed which was very comfortable! Only thing I would say was our shower was abit small. For such a big bathroom the shower could be updated. We ate in the Churchill’s restaurant, it had a good selection on the menu and fair prices! We had the two courses for £33 the food was amazing! Good quality and full of flavour! Good size portions. We went for the braised short rib, it literally fell off the bone! And then Nutella cheesecake for dessert! The waitress couldn’t do enough for us! Really attentive Breakfast was good, A help yourself buffet basis, all served hot and fresh, a good selection of hot and cold food! One thing I didn’t like was there was no where to put the lids from the hot plates. You’ve got a plate in one hand and the lid in the other. Felt like if I put it on the other hot plates it would have fallen off. We had the use of all the facilities during our stay, a good size swimming pool, hot tub , steam room ,sauna and a gym ,all were well maintained and clean. Would happily stay again.

Google maps stop about 100yrd from Elfordleigh Hotel entrance coming from Plympton. The car park is a little small, but parking for disabled is right outside the main entrance with ramp access to the reception area. Lift to all floors and a lift to the spa area as well. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Food for 3 courses is around £52 and meals are very well cooked, with good flavour and portion size. The drinks menu has a wide selection as well. There is a bar / Brasserie, which is also very well managed. Our room was very large and laid out very neatly. Idea for families as there is a swimming, sauna, massages, gym, and golf course, which is also used by the general public. Good walks and not far from Plympton Town centre.

Had Sunday lunch which was nice but definitely not the best I’ve had. Beef was tender and potatoes nice and crispy but the meal wasn't hot just warm. Staff were friendly but didn’t like having to leave my bank card behind the bar unfortunately people do at times try and leave without paying but cards can also be misused and cloned. Would not go again.

The pub is shut and apparently has been for several months. The local community has plans to buy it and reopen it. But this, apparently, is long term.

The location is brilliant unfortunately the food was not good I don’t like writing a poor review but the food we had was very unsatisfactory chicken breast was very tough as was the veg which was barely cooked. To blame the chef is unacceptable because a chef couldn’t have been involved in the cooking process. I did hear that it was an “agency chef” however on the 1st sign of a problem the agency should have been contacted and the owners should have made other arrangements. To carry on charging for unacceptable food is a sign of bad management. It takes a long time to get a good reputation and a few moments to destroy it. Always strive for a good name. Pick yourself up dust yourself down and change your priorities
