Eleanore in Edinburgh, City of

You are in for a real treat! This is a menu that packs a flavour punch & yet at £34 is the best value for money. (On par with Fhior for flavour, yet is more than half the price) Each mouthful delights, hard to pick a favourite dish so let the pictures do the talking. What I will say is I loved it so much I immediately booked to come back again and bring the hubby. Second time I opted for the vegetarian menu which was a light balanced and still flavourful. Watching the team work was a privilege, to the standards of The Manoir, each looking after the other to ensure customers have the best experience.

A group of 4 ladies of a certain age enjoyed a truly superb dinner. Wonderful cheery staff served us, explaining the dishes as they brought course after fabulous course. The ambiance was further improved by a great music selection which encouraged some not very good behaviour, though fortunately the table of 4 youngsters next to us didn't appear to mind!

A first visit to Eleanore, it was recommended by a colleague that had been a chef, his recommendation was spot on. We visited at lunchtime, every dish was perfectly presented and tasted divine. I had the wine pairing and the wines matched the food perfectly. I had the oysters to start, we both had the cheese course, both complimented the set menu perfectly. Leith walk has changed a lot, this restaurant will bring us back to an area that we don’t normally visit, next time for dinner, although lunch was excellent, it will be a tough choice which to come for. Almost forgot the service, faultless, informed and attentive but not overly so.

Day spent in Edinburgh after a cruise .. wandered around holyrood house and a two hour experience at Elenores restaurant.. what a find ... set menu at £38 no choice and from start to finish delicious .. we added on a couple of fresh oysters each and shared a local cheese plate .. the balance of flavours and skill here is one you should seek out .. we wanted to go back for dinner but sadly the plane departs at 7pm 😢 ..

Het eten was echt heel lekker en ook de bediening was prima. Maar toch een ster minder vanwege de afsluiting. Wij betalen contant en er werd doodleuk verteld dat ze geen wisselgeld hebben. Bij een rekening van bijna 195 pond incl ruim 21 pond “service charge” (fooi) voor twee personen verwacht ik toch wel wisselgeld. Achteraf hadden wij het toch gepast. Maar dat voelt natuurlijk niet prettig.
