Just had a beautiful meal in the restaurant. The service was excellent and the food gorgeous, highly recommend and will definitely be back.

Just had a wonderful meal with wife for our anniversary staff are so nice and attentive. Great local business let’s support it. I had corma and wife had biriani. Taste was delicious and so relaxing atmosphere. 5 star from us.

Just been here tonight with my family for my birthday and we were all very impressed with the whole evening there. The food and service was excellent from start to finish definitely will be back and we have already booked for my daughters birthday ☺️

we opted for the set menu for 2. the lamb was gorgeous and plenty of chicken Korma left over for the following day lunch too

Food was tasteless and watery. One of the dishes was meant to be Madras but it was as spicy as a lettuce leaf. Will not be going back and would not recommend.

Very poor food tonight. Cold and jalfrezi was very bland, korma very watery. Disappointed as we have had some lovely meals before. The standard has dropped. Portions were also smaller than usual.

Horrendous experience with take away order tonight . They delivered 3 rice 3 nann and one curry ! Missing 2 curries . Rang to explain and got told I had orders wrongly which I hadn’t !! They sent veg rice instead of veg masala’s . I have ordered take away curry from here since this restaurant opened and never had a problem . Nothing prepared me for the rudeness of the girl on the phone . Who hung up on me after Saying if I wanted curry I now had to pay again! I have spent hundreds of pounds on curry’s from here over the years and will never ever order from here again!!

Love the food here. Food comes out pretty quickly also. Staff are friendly.. Only thing that let's this amazing place down is its location. That's up a flight of stairs and completely inaccessible for those with disabilities!

This is a lovely place to enjoy a meal with friends. There are several smaller tables and larger areas to allow for bigger parties.

Great food and service, it was very quiet but that wasn't an issue for us.

We are new in this area so thought to go locally for a meal. Arrived on Saturday night a round 8pm for 5 minutes no one bothered to welcome us, we were just standing in the middle of the restaurant, anyways, I had to ask someone was in the bar for table for 2 with baby in the car seat that he actually could see. Then we been advised they are fully booked but then managed to get us a 2 chair table which we needed to put our baby on floor. We were fine with it as we didn’t book in advance fair enough but as soon as we sat on our table realised that in this moment there were two 4 chairs table empty Then we thought maybe they are booked for more than 2, but later two people came and sat on 4 chairs table. The could swap and give that to us for sake of my baby, i was even fine if they could just give us a spare chair to put my baby. They had lots of spare at the back of the restaurant that was clearly visible and completely empty. We just paid for the drinks that we didn’t even touch and walked out. They were even not bothered to ask us why leaving and to apologise. We felt very disrespectful and discriminated, because we are not white. They are racist. We do deserve to be treated and served the same the others. Will never go again and not recommend to anyone.

An awful meal. They were offering a big discount for cash payment but must have recovered it by using cheaper ingredients and smaller servings. They were very busy because of the offer and I waited 30 minutes before going to collect and a further 45 minutes in the restaurant.

I've eaten in here a few times. I'm always happy with the food, service and ambience. It's just a shame that there is no disabled access now that the main town car park has been closed. I recommend the owners relocate to a downstairs venue, possibly one that is bigger, accommodates more guests and has parking.

We used the special offer they currently have available, attending is difficult for those with physical difficulties (an issue caused by the town centre and not the restaurant). The food as always is the best Indian on the town, we arrived around 35 minutes after ordering and waited no more than 10 more minutes to receive our food which was so hot my passenger couldnt keep it on their lap.

Portions in the cartons were barely half full. In a chicken, lamb and prawn curry there was only 2 pieces of chicken and 2 pieces of lamb- NO prawns. It might be due to the fact that we had 20% off for loyalty, therefore they gave us 20% less food. Up to all the tricks these days. Naan Breads were also smaller than usual and burnt. Simply won’t use again

Disappointing takeaway. Chicken very tough, chewy and dry. Hariali very garlicky, naan bread tasteless. Such a shame. This would have been our local if it had been any good

As Ayecliffe is small place and I wasn't expecting much but it was tasty. They accommodated my request although it wasn't on the menu. Staff very nice and on hand. Only qualm was the desserts are limited and only Indian dessert was kulfi. I'd certainly come back

Ordered from here last night, sorry to say it was mostly sauce than chicken in the masala, very small pieces of chicken, nan bread was tiny, used to be quite large in previous orders, very disappointed, won't be ordering from here again, not worth the money

Ordered curry with usual accompaniments for tea yesterday and was told the usual it will be delivered in about 40 minutes. 10 minutes later the delivery guy arrived!!!? I’d rang about 5.15pm and he said as there weren’t any other orders in they’d cooked it straight away. Wow! It was hot, fresh and tasted gorgeous. We ate the lot and were stuffed full. Definitely be using Elachi again 👌

I'm sorry to say this but this was the worst Indian meal I've ever had. Supposed to be chicken tikka masala but it was just sweet with no layers of flavour at all. The chicken tikka tasted as though it had been cooked without any spices and was not charrred at all. The whole thing was tasteless.

Would never order again it was £55.10 and a total waste of money only a quarter of the order arrived half hour later the rest of the order arrived looked like the delivery driver has stood on the bag customer service is disgraceful and very rude staff they have now lost our custom .

Ordered via Just Eat, meal arrived very quickly but was absolutely disgusting, resembled day before chicken warmed up in a tasteless sauce with disgusting texture, totally dissatisfied

Ordered from here 1 month ago and my wife told me she had food poison , I ignored her advice and my daughter has woke up with sickness and diarrhea this morning since 4am . The food is good I'm not denying that but clearly the food is not cooked correctly and will never order from here again . VERY VERY DISPAOINTING .

Really disappointed at meals ordered tonight. Apart from the fact it was cold when it turned up, both meals were tasteless, bulked out with veg and very little meat. We ordered chicken korai and lamb tikka rogan josh. They had very little flavour and both sauces tasted exactly the same and nothing like what they should have. Sorry but won’t recommend. Only saving grace was rice and naan were ok

Food was better than service which needs looking into the waitresses really need proper training as to how to serve people very dissapointing not happy when they start scrapping food from one plate to another at the table not very proffesional just remove plates even if they have to make a couple of trips

Absolutely amazing, all the food was delicious...had the jalfrezi and the flavour was amazing...naan was lovely and fresh and light..great service, will definitely be going back.

I've loved this restaurant for years - but I've not been here since I have been a vegan (about a year) - the menu says just explain what your dietary requirements are and we'll accommodate. They certainly did; superb, friendly and knowledgeable waiting staff and flexible chefs made tonight so delicious and so special. Amazing. I wasn't sure how my vegan Elachi experience would be - but it's been wonderful. Thoroughly recommended to omnivores, herbivores and carnivores.

This place isnt good at all. The service is good but apart from that its not good the food was like eating perfume full of onions aswell. The drinks are over priced and it made me sick soon as i left the restaurant soon as i left the door it came up. AVOID

Just had my meal and all I can say is absolutely brilliant 10 out of 10 never let me down always top quality Indian food. I have followed the owner from restaurant to restaurant as he has moved from his original in Spennymoor in the 1980's always presents great quality food thanks. 👍

Since moving to the area we needed a new Indian takeaway Elachi food is the best in the area, we finally got to eat in the restaurant and the food is amazing like their takeaway, great hard working polite staff and great service 👍 can't wait to eat in again.

Myself and better half went for a meal last night lucky enough to get a table during the meal deal. Could not have been more impressed. Service was great really pleasant and helpful staff. The food was plentiful and really high quality in fact couldnt eat it all. Will definetly go again even after the meal deal it would be good value. Highly recommend

If you are from the Newton Aycliffe area, this place is probably what you want: lots of food with little or no flavour. Had this opened in any other town it would have not survived it's first month ...

1st takeaway was amazing, 2nd 1 was cold when rang to complain within 15m minutes of getting order was told it was hot when we packed it and we only live 2 minutes away from them

Plastic dishes for thali night, will not be going back.

Vegetable Jalfrezi was not as it should have been. Very little onion, tomato or peppers. Disappointed.

Took my wife for a buffet at elachi Restaurant last night(Thursday 31st October)but it wasnt on,but the web site says it is. Disappointed. Web site needs to be updated ASAP

I ordered a meal for one for delivery in Aycliffe and was told within the hour. or I could happily have collected it. After 1 hr 30 mins I contacted the restaurant to ask when it would be delivered. I was told they are very busy and it would be delivered soon. finally delivered after 1 hr 50 mins. Be warned.

Food tasted good but the service was terrible. We had pre booked for a large group, they weren't prepared and despite being the only people in the restaurant it was 2 hours before we got our mains

Waitress was very ignorant and rude, took the order incorrectly this was corrected by the waitor who was marvellous food was good but chicken was a little chewy. I do not recommend you have the young lady waiting tables again there was an attitude from her from start to finish. However I do praise the gentleman that was also front if house he was very polite rectified the mistakes and very chatty!

Best indian in town. Just wish the buffet was open more often.

We ordered a meal from them on the 5-9-18 and it was chicken malayon and it was very waterery and not creamy at all contacted the restaurant to be told by the so called manager that it was supposed to be that way .i can assure every body that its not please look the dish up on the internet . We have used this place many times before and the last 3 meals have been shocking .think they have a different chef as the last 4 months its give us bad meals .1st over done nan bread and 2nd black popadoms and now this .it lacks effective responsive manager when it comes to complaints and they try to fob there way out if it .manager could do with listerning to customers as it is loosing the owners customers as we now will never spend our hard earned cash in there again .poor standards to say the least . They seem to be cutting corners on the quality it once was

A year ago this was a 5 star establishment but now the food is cold, tasteless and can tell they use cheaper ingredients. Never wasting my money here again.

A friendly place where adults and children can go and have a great bite to eat. We went on a Thursday when the buffet was on, and it was great. A decent selection of food was on offer, along with I will creams for desert.

Really tasty and very well-priced food, with fast and friendly service. We ate from the menu rather than the buffet. Well worth a visit, despite the slightly strange location and somewhat scruffy decor.
