impeccable service, good wine advice with tasting offered before purchase, we had schnitzels that were perfectly cooked, relaxed atmosphere and nice surroundings. Very good value too. Will be back (again!)

This is a lovely little tapas & wine bar on Fleet street. My first time visiting but came with others who had been before. Unfortunately two of the wines we had chosen were unavailable which was a little disappointing but the alternatives that we had were still great. The tapas was very delicious and the waiter let us just order as and when we needed more which was ideal. Probably a little overpriced but tapas usually is so can't really complain if you choose that cuisine. Overall a very pleasant experience and would return.

I have a new favourite wine bar! The food was delicious, the wine wonderful and possibly the most charming and interesting staff a wine bar has ever had. And I’m not being hyperbolic. We had a really lovely evening with some delicious white wine (a Chablis and then a Maçon) and some excellent tapas. The patatas bravas were very good though the spinach and goats cheese empanadas with a honey and pine nut dressing were beyond belief amazing. I may have run out of superlatives!

Clientele seems to vary as to time and day but for a non Londoner and not working in the immediate area it was difficult to avoid imagining a link with Horace Rumpole and asking for a bottle of Chateau Thames Embankment. But we resisted. The wine list is well selected and fairly priced. The place is not awash with black jackets and striped trousers. It is a relaxed well appointed space and comfortable for anyone to drink and lunch. Affable.

As the title says... It's usually good, the food is pretty good, the wine list is brilliant. However the last time I visited with a family member things weren't so great, well, at first all was well. Then we ordered a couple of glasses of a nice 1985 vintage port; this is where it went askew... There was more sediment than port in the glass, yeah, sure you expect a bit - but if it has been decanted properly then there should be very little... and when we brought it up the waitress said something along the lines of 'you shouldn't have ordered vintage port then'.... NOT great when you're paying £25 for a glass of port. It's disappointing because usually El Vinos is pretty damn good.

Great atmosphere and the meze platter was great value. My wife and I went in as I had past El Vino a number of times on previous visits to London and always wanted to try it. I wasn't disappointed with the wine selection and prices (even in central London), the tapas selection was great with daily specials available also. The decor is like stepping back in time but the service is right up to date. Well worth a visit

London proper is hard on small businesses, so finding one like this is one, deserves supporting. We walked in late and tried the tapas menu. Sara, the manager, started by guiding us through some unfamiliar wines to match our dinner. Both dinner and wine recommendations were excellent, if unfamiliar. We then moved to a delicious cheese plate. Finally we also enjoyed desert (creama Catalina), coffee and some port offerings to finish the evening. All I can say is we will be back on our next trip through London. That and, thank you Sara.

I was around the city with a friend at the week end and we were looking for a place where we could have a wine, something small to eat with good atmosphere. We found this little bar and thought we’d try it. We got there and had a very warm welcome from the staff. We decided to go for 4/5tapas. We were taking ages to pick the wine so a very nice lady (we then learnt her name was Sara) came to the table and after checking with us our taste and the food we ordered she suggested to try the Primitivo wine. We went for a bottle of that and we were so glad we had such suggestion by someone who actually knows what she is doing (we would have picked just by looking at their names not knowing much). I will definitely return, it was not only a place to go for a drink, the overall time spent in there was an authentic experience.

Loved the atmosphere in here even on a Monday night. The wine list is extensive and they even have a free glass to us as our choice wasn’t chilled as it should have been. They put a bottle on ice for us and have a complimentary glass, very nice gesture. Tapas was excellent, patatas bravas is always and a measure and it was crunchy and sauce was excellent. Broad beans and Chorizo and Lamb Meatballs also worthy of mention, along with Padron Peppers which had lovely seasoning. £27 for 5 plates which in London is great and enough for 2 to share. Wine, food and service all great, well done El Vino.

This is one of the only places in London that isn't really loud. When they don't play really loud music. And you can hear yourself speaking. A lot of highbrow legal people come here. It's got a classy vibe. But I wouldn't call it pretentious. Everybody is on the downlow, under the radar. Nobody is advertising their status. I like the way that it has been set out. I also like that it's not completely packed. I think a lot of people don't come here because they don't really want the wine. But to me it just looks like a regular pub with a restaurant section at the back. I'm sure they do have a fairly interesting selection of wines but I'm not bothered about that. What I like is that the pub area and the restaurant area are never packed out when I go there, which means that there is's room to sit and I can have a conversation without having to shout. I hate a lot of the other pubs in the area because they get really really jammed full of shouting young men and you get jostled around and it's unpleasant. But this places much easier on the nerves.

Qué ambiente! El lugar fue establecido en 1879 y nada, ni siquiera el Champagne saboreando los clientes parece haber cambiado desde entonces. La comida estaba bien, nada más.
