Visited here on a Friday evening with friends. Wasn't overly busy. The food and service was very good all the staff were very friendly. Would definitely recommend going and will be going again.

Met up with family and friends at El Patio recently for lunch. Always happy to be welcomed By Carlos the owner who makes you feel comfortable to ask about the food or wine. Staff are friendly and helpful .

All staff were very attentive, helpful and friendly. Good atmosphere, lots of birthdays that everyone joined in with. Tbh thought the food was nice but nothing special but obviously didn't get to try everything on the menu. Will definitely be going back though.

I’ve tried paella in Spain so I thought I should compare it to El patios Spanish dishes and I can now say it was much better and I enjoyed it very much. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, Jc was a name that stood out he was so nice and welcoming to me and my family. Definitely will be returning.

Great tasty food, good service & wonderful company. Food was fresh & hot. Tapas portions were generous. Our wine glasses were discretely replenished so they were never empty. Nice music in the background but not too loud so people can still have a normal conversation. Nice, relaxed vibe. Thank you 😊

Popped in for lunch yesterday with some friends and left highly impressed. I had not been to El Patio before, so chose some classic tapas from the menu: tortilla, gambas al ajillo and albondigas. All three were excellent. One of my companions had the paella valenciana and said it was superb - I will definitely have that next time. The wine list is well chosen and fairly priced; we had a beer and then a bottle of Albariño, which was exquisite. Service from Carlos was first class. You can see he takes real pride in the restaurant and it shows. Highly recommended.

As Spaniards, the food was underwhelming. Service was great but the food was frozen and reheated.

Where can I start, the welcoming so warm and attentive, the attention and service super. Now the food was so good that I would like that others came and enjoy it as much as we have.

We really wanted to enjoy dinner here and opted to come here for a special family birthday… it took over an hour and a half to get any food, we had to chase several times and some items were wrong, and so basic like the vegetable rice was frozen veg!? The male waiter hardly spoke to us/avoided us. Sadly we won’t be coming back. The female waitresses were so friendly. Music great.

I had an incredible experience at El Patio Spanish Tapas Restaurant tonight! The staff made us feel truly special, and meeting them added a personal touch to our evening. The food was out of this world, especially the chicken – the best I've tasted in years, reminiscent of my time in Spain. My mum and I had a fantastic night out, and her enjoyment added to the memorable atmosphere. Fantastic disbaled access! Highly recommend! Harry Wales

Delicious food, perfectly cooked to my taste

A double fronted shop with tables laid out in rows. Big soulless windows cover most of the frontage A bit like an old style school canteen. Tiles around most walls giving it hard , cold look. Bottles and glass ware for decoration - give a dated 70’s look. Staff are very welcoming and give good advice from the extensive menu. The service is on the slow side. They serve the normal range of tapas that have been around in the U.K. for many years ( totally unlike the ones served in Spain ) , three paella’s and Skewers. The paella’s are poorly cooked ( no crusting of the rice, no use of thick iron paella pans and no saffron used with the rice). I had the Surf and turf Skewer for £22:50 made with large chunks of sirloin, though it was well trimmed, it would have been better to have had half the quantity but of fillet steak - less cooking needed and therefore more taste ) The pork dishes ( Ramos) are particularly good. None of the specialities that we like in similar restaurants in Croydon like Skate in black butter and Oysters were on the menu. And now my particular gripe ; last night Thursday 23rd November at the end of the evening with excellent entertainment and a full house all customers bar half a d were offered a complementary limoncello. Mistake not offering to everyone? - no it was a deliberate decision conveyed by the male owner to the waiter. By the way they charge “ an optional mandatory 10% service charge ! “

2nd time we have been here, came originally for our anniversary, this time was a just because. Food is absolutely amazing I feel like I'm actually in Spain. Limoncello Is a definite to get when you come here. Great atmosphere inside, not always too busy, best to book though, lovely Spanish music. Staff are so friendly and accommodating.

Fantastic family owned restaurant, with a warm atmosphere and incredible food. The food here is authentic and I really can’t recommend this restaurant more highly. If you like the Spanish cuisine you must come here - the service is superb and very welcoming!

If you like authentic Spanish tapas then you will really enjoy the food here. The staff were attentive and kind. We ate relatively early so there was no one else there so the atmosphere was not there but I could quite see when it was busy there would be one there. I highly recommend this restaurant.

This is by far the best takeaway that I have ever ordered from Selsdon! The food was piping hot and fantastic quality - it was as if I was actually in the restaurant! It arrived promptly from a really friendly driver - I cannot praise enough!

Lovely food at a reasonable price. Parking is usually available, and free, in the surrounding roads if you don't mind a minute or two's walk.

Had the wild bore skewer was really tasty friends had beef skewer and one had prawns everyone said they really enjoyed their food

Went tonight for the 1st time, I've only lived in selsdon for a short while. I googled restaurants in selsdon today, as it was my partner's birthday. Came across El Patio with fantastic reviews so I thought I would go down and give it a go. Glad I did, didn't have a booking just turned up and took my chances and as soon as we walked in we was given a table,( LUCKY US TWO) as it was 630pm they had a spare table, happy days. Can't fault this restaurant, happy staff, fantastic food with great atmosphere 10 out of 10 keep up the great work. Can't wait to return and have another fantastic night. It was a busy evening. They had lost my booking but fitted us in. 5 of the 6 tapas dishes were fantastic but one (huevos a la flamenca) had some ingredients that looked and tasted as if they were out of a packet and not very good. The atmosphere was good, even though it was busy, music was appropriate and not loud. Overall a good meal and enjoyable. Would go again.

I’ve known Carlos for nearly 15 years and followed him from Tapas to Tapas in and around the local area. When he took the plunge to start up El Patio it was the best decision he could have made! The best atmosphere, the best team and the food in my opinion is some of the best tapas in the world! Go try it you won’t be disappointed 👍🏻👌

The restaurant is really nice, the food is good but the staff didn't rise up to it's level. The music was too loud and even though the restaurant wasn't too busy it was a a loud rumour because everyone was speaking loud. They were understaffed and you could see from their attitude. Our plates were cleaned from the table after more than 30 minutes even if all three waiters passed several times by our table and saw we finished. We were there for a nice dinner but instead we payed a big bill and we left disappointed...I would recommend the restaurant for the food but personally, I wouldn't go there again.

Popped in for a Tapa last night, party of 4, had a brilliant night. Reminds me of the old "El Patio" in George Street. But I must say much better, I wonder if the owner/staff actually worked there previously. The food was great, our thanks to the chef, great atmosphere. Would highly recommend

Visited it by chance ..... turned out to be a lucky one. Good choice of food which was beautifully cooked, ample portions. Staff were all delightful, friendly aand knowledgable. Will visit again when in area and recommend to friends and family.
