After reading some pretty good reviews we thought we’d give it a try. Honestly, below average at best. Absolutely nothing Mediterranean about this restaurant and the staff are amateur at best. Next time go to harvester and pay 30% less. To be fair, they did have Julio Iglesias on repeat in the toilet and they did have some Spanish tomatoes on the menu

Food was ok (my friend’s steak was a bit overcooked, though). Beers were mentioned in the menu as a pint, but it was a large bottle (not a draft). We can see the kitchen from our table and we all agreed that we concerned a bit about hygiene. A little overpriced from what we got in our opinion.

Very small portion and Tesco quality. Poor service and insufficient communication.

Great evening and can't wait to go back. Service a little muddled and bit of a hike to the toilets. No dark chocolate sauce for profiteroles on an early sat night... come on guys. Can do better. But rest of service great and good food. Cheers

It's was absolutely beautiful. My son took me here for mother's day and it exceeded my expectations. The food is delicious and the staff are friendly and helpful.

Absolutely stunning food. Very pretty place. Waiters were outstanding. Myself and my husband had a lovely chat with one of them and I'm gutted I didn't catch his name. Best customer service I've had in a long time and the meal was honestly one of the best I've ever had. Totally recommend 20/10 ❤️ will 100 % be making a return.

Nice venue once you get inside. Arrived for dinner and was given the wrong menus (lunch time) and when trying to ask the waitress for the right ones she had no idea what I was saying and had to get someone else. I also asked her what beers were available and was told poretti so I ordered one. I was then given a moretti and she said she didn't say poretti, so I changed it for an Estrella instead. After that someone else took our food orders. For the rest of the night the service was noticeably lacking, no check if all was okay after food was delivered, non-attentive for drinks. Shame. Credit where it's due though, the food was very nice with only the pasta dish a bit lacking. Recommend the meat ball starter and the lamb shank. Probably won't return though.

Hands down, an absolute gem of a restaurant. We visited Swansea on a weekend trip to a local music gig. Lovely relaxed service, good value for money. They have a very talented team in the kitchen, dishes are very well executed and very flavourful. Excellent wine selection and a great drinks menu. Nice theatrical touch with the dry ice and 'smoke' at the table as mains were delivered.

Can't comment on the food as the phone is always disconnected when I'm trying to get a table booked..........anyone else have this issue??

Went there with my partner and had the Valentine’s set menu and ordered the lamb shank and duck. All three courses were delicious, filling, and reasonably priced. The atmosphere was great, and the chicken starter was especially amazing! Unfortunately, I can’t give 5 stars due to the service. While the staff were very friendly, there were a couple of mistakes, including billing us incorrectly twice and bringing the wrong desserts. This may have been due to a slight language barrier with our waitress. Overall, it was a very positive experience with fantastic food, and we’d love to come back—hopefully, the service will be smoother next time!

Me and my husband love going to El Fuego! We have been here a few times together and have taken a few friends over the past couple of years, and can honestly say we've never had a bad meal here. We absolutely love it and will definitely be back again. Tonight we visited to celebrate Valentine's day, the atmosphere was very romantic and the food beautiful as always, thank you!

The customer service is high standard

We took my wife's mother here for dinner and she loved it. Which is good because we loved it too! I had the fish cakes to start followed by the slow cooked lamb. Both dishes were absolutely delicious 😋. The lamb simply melted in the mouth. Lovely ambience with the service attentive but not intrusive. If we lived in Swansea, we would be regulars here.

Conveniently located, large restaurant. We were there midweek so it was quiet. Sardines were nice. Paella was a disappointment.

Tonight I had the delighted experience to be taken here by family, I was visiting. It's the first visit but when I visit Swansea, there is no doubt in my mind I will return. I ate the best steak that I have eaten in the last twelve months. The meals we ordered were all excellent, the service faultless. This is a place to come if you want to enjoy a real good evening.

Lovely little restaurant , super helpful and attentive , friendly staff. Very reasonable prices , generous portions (I couldn't finish mine ) and the food was amazing . Highly recommend and would definitely come again . The set meal menu is incredible value for money.

It's our first time in Swansea and we feel very lucky to have found this lovely restaurant. The staff are friendly and attentive and the food we ordered from the Tapas menu was very tasty. Definitely worth a visit.

Great cozy place for multiple events. There's a rooftop for the summer and service was great throughout. Quick service to top it all off!

A place where I will definitely come back. We had set dinner and it was just amazing. The mussels with tomato sauce are the perfect starter, just ask for bread to “rebañarlo” in the sauce. Very tasty!! Then I had slow cooked beef ribs. Oh my goodness, great flavour and portions are generous. One of the things I like the most apart from the politeness of the waiters is that they do not rush you to leave and attend thr next table. Thank you very much We will see you soon

most underrated restaurant in Swansea. Very friendly and professional staff and service. Finely cooked mussels with amazing sauce 👍 had neck of lamb , delicately cooked of meat as well . Only comment was the lamb sauce was bit bit too salty.

Not what it says on the tin. Food medioca, quite a few dishes with the same sauce which was far too salty. Not very attentive service. Won’t be returning :(

Went here to celebrate a few birthdays, a group booking of 40 people. What a great experience we had!! We pre-ordered and when we arrived it was very organised. All food was boiling hot when served, good portions, plates cleared quickly. Couldn't fault them.

Good quality food with generous portion sizes. Set menu is good value for money. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Definitely recommend.

El Fuego clearly missing some fire.. unfortunately I felt more like I went to a pub diner than actual Spanish restaurant from the start, even booking a table there was a challenge as the staff all barely spoke English, we was greeted in a polite manner however the restaurant honestly was so loud it felt like we was in a weatherspoons we ordered the Tomahawk Steak which was good however we ordered medium rear but received rear and after asking they did get it there on second attempt I ordered Gnocchi with chicken in creamy sauce and the sauce was nice but chicken was over cooked and outer layer tasted like hard cardboard unfortunately. Oysters were very nice however but overall not great and definetly wouldt recommend this place to anyone. Slug and lettuce few minutes away you rather go there! p.s potato's no flavour at all so if you decide to go make sure not to get potato's!!

Very quiet when we visited, food was ok nothing special.

I ordered their beef medallions with a side of chips, as well as a chocolate cake for dessert. At first, the beef medallions were amazing, the sauce was rich, and the beef was cooked perfectly. However, I found that not all the beef was cooked the same, as some was more well done, even though I had asked for medium well, causing inconsistency. The chips were a great side to pair with, and they were cooked and portioned perfectly. The cake did not disappoint either; however, it was quite filling and thus hard to finish. Overall, for the price, the food was a little disappointing, and I would most likely not come here again.

They took my partners food while he was still eating, we ordered a drink and it didn't come so had to ask again.... been here quite a few times, but our first poor experience.

😡😡 This is a first review for me, for somewhere I've never visited... Decided to go to this restaurant on the Saturday 6th January. Sent a request for a table on the 4th no response. Tried to call number not recognised? Actually visited on the 6th in person at advertised opening time 1pm. Looked very closed. No signage to advise of a closure due to holidays. No message on answerphone. Nothing on website. All Xmas decorations outside still in place. But restaurant seems deserted. If you can leave customers wondering when they can visit. You really don't deserve them. You've never seen me and now you never will. Good luck 🤞 your going to need it....😡 to survive this industry... 8th January now still not answering phone. Maybe closed forever who knows?

Service great....food delicious...highly recommend

It was busy when I ate here which may have affected the quality or consistency of my food. The waiters were under pressure because of how busy it was but they were still accommodating and served us with bright faces which is respectable! I ordered the beef medallions with baby potatoes which were a +£2.50 supplement (because of the beef). The sauce was delicious but the level the medallions were cooked were inconsistent. I asked for medium well and one medallion was perfect but the other two were well done. It was slightly disappointing. What was more disappointing was seeing only 4 baby potatoes on my plate. Comparing the amount of ‘potato’ with my friends who got fries, they had more potato than me. Baby potatoes may cost slightly more than others but I think they should have at least matched the amount of potato given for every potato side. With the amount of food on this big plate, it doesn’t look like much at all. It would have been more presentable if the plate was smaller to match the amount of food. The dessert was nice but personally the cake got a little too much once I was nearing finishing it. Personally, I think decreasing the size of the cake a little bit and adding a bit more cream would make the dessert more enjoyable. The price overall was £26.50 (including the +£2.50 beef supplement). I think it is an okay price but it is unlikely that I will come here to eat again.

Taste of the food was pretty good. Couldn’t bring myself to eat the mashed potatoes though after watching the cook use his ungloved fingers to wipe the potatoes off of the spoon on to my plate….twice. Food marked down due to hygiene server was kind but we waited 20 min to get water and we were the only ones there.

Nice place and service. However there are few mussels in my order are truly bad and taste smelly. The drink and desserts are good as usual.

Excellent food, I eat everywhere and it's the best food I have had in a while! The only criticism, is that they seated another couple right next to us when the restaurant was empty.

Food was amazing, staff were very accommodating and nothing was any trouble. We will be returning in the near future to sample more of the delicious menu

Fabulous meal last night (5/8/2023). First visit to this lovely restaurant my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed. I had calamari to start followed by seafood paella and sautéed potatoes. My husband had the meatballs in tomato sauce followed by the slow cooked beef rib with crushed potatoes. I had no room for dessert but my husband had a cheesecake. Came tonight for our wedding anniversary meal. Bit gutted if I'm honest. An hour between each course. Had to keep asking for drinks. One waiter apologized for the slow service and offered free drinks which we ended up paying for. Ordered from the set menu. Ordered desserts at the very start with the starters and mains. We didn't get our desserts. Food was lovely but the service was so slow and unattended.i am a former restaurant manager and I'm always looking for holes in places I go. Unfortunately I didn't have to look far here. It was very unromantic for an anniversary meal,very very loud to the point we couldn't hear eachother speak. Unfortunately due to the slow service (which I can't really blame SOME of the staff) we will not be returning.

I had the pleasure of visiting EL Fuego and I was blown away by the quality of the food and exceptional service. The restaurants ambiance was also delightful, with traditional decor that transported you to Spain.

Expectations were high based on reviews, but it was pretty average. Food was OK, had to chase the team to get Service and more drinks etc. I would not rush to go back but would not avoid either it if friends wanted to go.
