El Contador in Derby

Amazing Mexican food hidden in a U.K. pub! Really authentic and the brisket tacos were simply incredible! Highly recommended. Only wish they had a bit more choice like some burritos or enchiladas.

El Contador were hired to cater for a family party. The food was amazing and service was efficent and friendly. El Contador even thought ahead to cater for children by having some less spicy options available, which the kids loved. I adored the beef tacos and the halumi. Absolutely first rate.

By far the best Mexican food I have tasted. The halloumi was last to die for as were the potatoes! To be honest everything was 10/10! Private hire for a family party - highly recommended.. can’t wait to try again!

Pitched up at the Shiny Tap in Little Eaton providing Mexican Street Food to help with the downing of a few pints. Service from the staff ran like a well oiled machine, excellent tasty food at a very reasonable price, well done.

2 brisket tacos, fresh hot! loads of meat and very tasty. Just a shame im not about in the day normally when they are open. I think ill have to make another visit soon and try out other parts of the menu. Oh yeah, and the price? Well compared to other food of this type its a lot more realistic, its certainly not cheap but its high quality with lots of product on it and is very tasty. Oh and the service is good to, not the usual staff who dont really want to be there but have to because they need money.

Service with a smile and tasty filling all day long. I had my first jackfruit burrito bowl and it wont be my last!! Great to find Gluten free on the go!

I have just been to El Contador for a quick lunchtime snack..... wow... that was no snack, the portion of Nachos was amazing with layers of Nachos, Pork, cheese and salad. Amazing flavours and the owners are lovely. Thank you so much for a fantastic lunch, I just had to put a review on straight away for you.

Popped in for a quick bite..if you want fresh home cooked and filling food this is the place for you! Thought nachos would be light but wow the portions are so generous . Everything is made fresh, the guacamole the salsa even the jalapenos are boiled and pickled by them. Amazing experience!!! Thankyou

Have walked past here so many times, but haven’t had chance to try anything. After a longer trip to town than anticipated we walked past El Contador at Lunch and feeling very hungry we stopped on our way home. I had chicken molé tacos and my Husband had the beef brisket bowl, our little boy who was with us, can be a picky eater so he said he didn’t want anything, but the lady in there kindly popped some chicken and rice in a little bowl for him to try at no extra charge, which was so lovely and he actually really enjoyed it! Food was amazing and you could tell how fresh everything was, definitely give this a try if you’ve ever wandered past, but not ordered! Will definitely be back again 😊

Been passed a few times and today thought I’d give it a try for my lunch. Very pleasant staff and very tasty food. Highly recommend.

I had a great jackfruit burrito bowl which is a nice, fresh and healthier lunch option than other places in Derby city centre. The man serving me was lovely and said he makes his own vegan aioli which he put on for me

Have tried the Nachos and Tacos up to now and they were delicious. Glad I was told about this place, I now have somewhere for food at lunchtime that offers Gluten Free. I'll spread the word. Nachos were delicious. :-)

Had a burrito bowl with jackfruit. So tasty! Great value for money! Will be returning to try other things.

Really tasty, filling and great value for money! Have tried the Tacos and Nachos and even experimented with Jack Fruit. the spicy sauce is also fantastic for anyone that likes hot sauce like me :-) Definitely recommend.
