El Camino in Glasgow City

It’s a shame this place is closing because it’s a decent place for food and drinks. I’ve been twice and both times it’s been really quiet. Drinks are cheap but great, and the tacos have been excellent but the rest of the food is a bit disappointing at times - the dirty sweet potato fries were mushy and the avocado didn’t look the freshest, but I cannot exaggerate how good the steak tacos are. Huge portions of good food with great music, plenty of space and an interesting feel.

Went for the sunday roast and it was lovely, the reviews made me skeptical but it was top notch & so was the service.

Service was terrible, no napkins, cutlery or drinks menus on the table. Birria tacos were burnt and bland.

Not usually one to complain but I’ve never had service so bad in my life than we had here. When we first walked in there was no staff at all to show us where to go, on top of that there was staff walking by us that could clearly see us waiting along with other people behind us waiting to be sat down. Once we were sat down it was 30 mins before someone came to take our order and after that it was another 1 hour and 20 minute wait for the food. Birria tacos tasted like a burnt dry beef toastie, disappointed as when birria is done properly they are the best tacos you’ll have in your life. Feel like a Karen writing this but I’ll defo not be back here

Arrived at time of booking quite confused as No one was at the front door to welcome/acknowledge us (staff all walked by us numerous times without even a hello). So we ended up walking up towards the kitchen to ask where we were supposed to ‘check in’ Once seated we ordered food and drinks, food came within 10 minutes which all was lovely although we had no cutlery provided then we had to ask 4 members of staff when the drinks were coming in which all said I’ll go get them now for you - none did come back with the drinks. We never received the drinks at all so went the full meal without one. No one came over at any point to ask if everything was ok, if we needed anything else etc or to take the plates away. Once the bill arrived the 2 drinks were on the bill (which we never received and were £18 for 2 drinks) which we asked they remove it. Once the server returned with the second bill she never said sorry about what happened or even spoke to us at all. No check in at all, very poor customer service. I understand staff are busy but there should be minimum care for their customers especially for the price of the food/drink too. Shocking management and service

I tried BBQ chicken wings and cheesy nachos here and i really loved it. It's decent place to hangout and chill with your friends.

Booked for Saturday night (18th March 6.30pm) dinner and drinks for table of 8. Food and drinks were nice, probably the only positive of the entire night. Took at least 25 minutes for a menu to be brought over and then another 20 minutes before our drinks order was taken. After around 30 minutes, 2 members of the table had to go to the bar to collect these drinks as we could see them sitting melting. After ordering our food, we were told there would be a 40 minute wait for food, which we were happy to wait for. However, the food did not arrive until well after the 40 minutes. When it did arrive, two of the orders were incorrect and one of the members of the table were told by the waiter that they were wrong and did order the food which was wrongly prepared. For the other order, it took 40 minutes to make the waiter aware the item was incorrect and by this time, it was too late to solve it. When the bill came, the waiter did apologise and explained they were short staffed. However, this does not excuse his attitude towards us and the poor service we received. Very disappointed with this service as El Jefes in the west end has such a great reputation and this was a huge let down. Will not be back.

Food was fine, atmosphere and service not so much. If you’re looking for a dingy club that sells tacos rather than a nice restaurant to have dinner in, then it’s perfect. Table was wobbly, there was no cutlery / napkins brought with food, empty sauce bottles on the table, had to ask if drinks came with dinner as we didn’t receive them until after our food was served which was about 20-25 mins, despite ordering them upon arrival. There was also visible agitation between the cooking and serving staff from the open kitchen which made things a little uncomfortable. The food was nice enough, but very expensive for what it was, worked out about £5 per taco / half of a quesadilla. The staff were very nice when we asked for anything and understandably seemed a bit stressed.

Take the best sunday roast you've ever had and times it by 40. Incredible.

Booked ahead for the Sunday roast, but didn't realise for the beef you have to pre-order that. We were really disappointed. Had the lamb shank instead, which was just okay. Yorkshire puds were more like poppadoms--very thin and hard. Didn't even eat them. Now on to the good things. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was cool. The sides to the roast were delicious, specifically the corn, cabbage, and onions. However, I was going to rate 3 stars but the Mexican Mac n Cheese bumped it up to 4 easily!!! That mac n cheese stole the show!! We want to come back to try the normal menu. Probably won't bother going back for the Sunday roast.

Just had the pleasure of coming here for a meal and a few drinks. Great service, friendly staff and really good food. Highly recommend.

Really disappointed. Booked in on a Sunday hoping to try the roast dinner , once we arrived we were told we couldn't have it as they were only taking pre-orders. No where on the website or when I was booking stated this.

£1 pound tacos - Monday to Wednesday £4 pound drinks that pack a bunch Staff was very friendly and helpful. Great playlist and will definitely be back.

Booked a table for dinner. Took 10mins to get us seated and the table wasn't even cleaned. Took our drinks order and brought us food menus. We waited 35 minutes, no drinks arrived and no one came to take a food order. On top of all that the 6 nations was being blasted at an unholy volume. We left and went to Franco Manca instead. Would give 0 stars if possible.

Was ok but a wee bit expensive.

Really enjoyed the mexican sunday roast from here with the chateaubriand. The extras and sides were all spot on too! The sombrero shaprled yorkie was a bit of an unnecessary novelty but overall the meal was very tasty! And their drink ls menu was good if you like margaritas (or espresso martinis)

The black bean burrito - and proper nachos! Nice!
