A lovely Sunday lunch with the family today, great food and friendly service. Recommended.

Sunday 24th March 2024 We popped in for Sunday lunch today and it was lovely. I had the 3 meat roast which was really nice. There is also a full menu available. The staff were friendly and attentive and the food was great value and couldn’t be faulted. Highly recommended, will definitely be going again :) Thanks girls!

Lively and well decorated restaurant in the centre of Lymm village. A good menu with plenty of Choices. Good friendly staff and efficient service. Not a cheap place to eat and I would suggest that the drinks are overpriced by a fair margin.

The roast dinner was brilliant but the cauliflower cheese was the star of the show. Excellent service which was friendly and genuine

Great Family restaurant with lovely staff and very good chefs. Food has always been top tier every visit. The restaurant could offer some GF options or replacements as well as GF Beer which is why this doesn’t get 5/5

We contacted Garry to enquire about catering for our party on NYE and he couldn’t have been more helpful and efficient. He suggested various canapés followed by a chicken Balti curry (or lamb hotpot) and freshly made pizzas for the teenagers (including gluten free options). Garry arrived early on NYE to set up all of the canapés on wooden serving boards and get the Balti ready to just reheat. The selection was fabulous - gorgeous Yorkshire puddings (made that morning) with beef and horseradish, mustard and honey sausages, brusetta, salmon blinis, olives and more. The chicken Balti was absolutely gorgeous!! Everyone LOVED the food and there were many compliments! Also Garry supplied plates, serviettes snd cutlery - amazing!! I would 100% recommend the excellent and top quality catering provided by Garry from Eighteen The Cross for a home event - next time we’ll have the set up bar Garry!!!! Thank you so much it made the evening perfect and we will be back!!

Wow - this was such a good night. It’s really hard these days to find good attentive service and delicious food which is well priced.The staff here are absolutely fantastic - a really slick team. Great menu, lovely atmosphere just FANTASTIC!

Had first visit last night as part of a table for 4, none of us shall be returning. Firstly, I never thought that any establishment could beat Egos in Stockton Heath for poor acoustics , wrong , this place gave us an almighty headache. Possibly a combination of the fact that everyone in Lymm SHOUTS and the time of year however , we could not engage in any form of conversation whatsoever. One particular table seated in touching distance of us Insisted on yelling constantly blissfully unaware that they were irking everyone despite the occasional and obvious glares. This however is not the reason for the negative review. The vegetarian food options were slim to none. Other than a fast food style plant burger, left a choice of 2 pasta dishes . When the mushroom truffle pasta arrived it was a child size portion, exactly 7 pasta parcels with no sauce or extras , literally tiny when compared to other meals being served however the same price if not more expensive. When mentioned to the server we were informed that they were outsourced to a local Italian chef and handmade. Really ? It’s Pasta. Again , it was pointed out that the portion was so small that the party member had finished and everyone else were still only a fraction of their way through their choices, each meal was so disproportionate. No resolution offered other than giving the usual narrative , will let chef know. Lastly, check your bill carefully. We were charged a double and requested a single Gin . The manager did however take that off the bill when pointed out. Will stick to Elmas across the road next time.

Garry and the team hosted our wedding reception a couple of months ago and the restaurant, food, service and ambiance was everything we hoped it would be. Before the wedding we designed our menu to suit our guests needs and were able to offer our guests a choice of meals that covered all the bases. The restaurant itself was beautifully decorated with our flowers and tea-lights. On the afternoon / evening, everything ran smoothly and they couldn't have accommodated us more. For reference, we had a party of 42 and the size worked really well for us - with enough room to dance in the evening. Thanks so much.

First time eating here. A really great Sunday roast, one of the best I've had in a long time. Good atmosphere, friendly staff although service was a little slow at times as it was very busy, but not a problem. Will definitely return.

Garry hosted and catered for my 40th Birthday party at my house, and it was amazing! This service was perfect for a large party of approximately 60 guests. Garry made the whole process so easy beforehand and I found it easy to choose the perfect combination of drinks and food. His service on the night was excellent! Guests were welcomed warmly with a drink on arrival and a fully stocked bar was set up in the garden, under a marquee. The drinks selection was fantastic and included high quality wines and beer on draught. Food included cold deli boards (as served in The Wine Kitchen) and the most delicious hot food, including beef bourguignon and chicken madras. The sticky sausages were a particular highlight! I would highly recommend this service from Garry and Eighteen the Cross as it gave the whole night a ‘proper’ party feel, and added a touch of luxury. Thank you so much!

The food here is great and staff are very friendly, but my favourite part about it are the events. Really loved the jazz night my husband and I attended and had probably the best burrata I’ve ever had outside of Italy. Only suggestion would be some bread or something to go with it as the tomatoes are tasty my preference is always to have a crunchy bite with smoother cheeses.

Sunday evening family meal. Perfect service accompanying excellent food and good drinks selection. Highly recommended for any occasion

Amazing Sunday Roast, definitely one of the best we've had out. We don't normally go for Sunday Roast out because we normally enjoy it at home. I have to say the Sunday Roast here is very good. Enthusiastic staff providing good service and delicious food! We'll be back again soon..

More than lived up to a recommendation for a Sunday Lunch . Don’t be put off by the small untidy entrance , if new to the location , enthusiastic welcome , has a great buzz and atmosphere with open rear kitchen and the bar being in the middle of the unit , compliments the wonderful hot food . Very busy , need to book .

Visited on a Friday evening, managed to get a table without a booking, which was lucky a very busy. Staff very welcoming, helpful and friendly. We had a burger and steak frites, both really nice and tasty. Would fully recommend a visit if in Lymm, but would suggest booking to avoid disappointment

Managed to get a walk in table on Saturday night , we had cocktails , starters and steaks for our mains and everything was perfect . Will definitely be back soon.

This simple small restaurant delivered fabulous cocktails a great wine list then surpassed themselves with the simple ingredients menu . Burrrata cheese with cherry tomatoes drizzled in a lovely oil and seasoning was a sublime starter. I normally wouldn’t order a ravioli dish for a night out out but their truffle and mushroom ravioli was a pure delight. Finally completed with a Afogato desert. All wrapped in great service with staff that smiled and you felt they were enjoying themselves. Next time we are visiting our friends I definitely want to return.

As a lone diner, I was made to feel so welcome, as if I was family! Thank you to Gary, Kate and the team for making what I thought could be difficult fully enjoyable! Had a really good meal for Mother's Day. The staff were friendly and the food was great. Other restaurants in Lymm can serve quite bland food, but eighteen doesn't and I will definitely be going back.

Just collected our take out Sunday lunch. Absolutely excellent can’t recommend enough. beautiful fresh veg, well adequate potion size, good quality meat. highly recommend. 5 star ⭐️ will definitely use again.

We had flat bread and honey chorizo for starters. Very pleasant. Rib eye steak with parmesan chips and green beans in garlic. Lovely meal. The roast dinner on a Sunday looked really good too. Staff made sure we had everything we needed. The draught lager is excellent and the wines are always good

We have both eaten in and also had a number of takeaway meals from 18 The Cross during the various phases of lockdown. It’s just a great place, with amazing food, friendly and passionate staff. Would really recommend.

Had a great meal here as usual on Christmas Eve. Gary was his usual attentive self and him and the rest of the team were great hosts. We had a mix of starters including prawn, sticky chicken (awesome), scallops and chorizo bites. Was followed by mains which included the recommended lamb wellington, steak frites and fish and chips. The homemade tiramisu was delightful and topped off a great evening.Will see you guys again when you reopen. Take care and stay safe in the meantime.Lee.

We’ve been to 18 The Cross twice now and are working our way through the menu. The food is varied and very fresh and extremely flavoursome. Gary and all the staff are also very attentive and efficient. You will not be disappointed!

After an amazing walk along the canal we ventured in to the town, one look in the window and at the menu we new this was a lovely space. Measures in place so felt so at ease. Once inside given the beat options and as a Sunday the four special options for lunch offered, we had the beef.... wow so tasty. Thank you for amazing food, amazing wine and amazing staff. Somewhere we are looking forward to visiting again

Three of us dined here for Sunday lunch. Myself, my wife and thirteen year old son. We had read the reviews and thought this would be ideal for lunch on a Sunday. On arrival we were seated quickly and politely. Drinks were served quickly and food order we taken quickly also. Fabulous table service fantastic food presentation, however, the quality of food for the price was really not as good as we thought it could of been. The pork lunch was not carved it did look and taste like to pork chops without the bone. The carrots unfortunately we're under done and hard as were the parsnips, sorry parsnip. There was full menu to choose from and I must say we will be going back for possibly brunch, lunch andb evening dinner no doubt as I think this must have positive reviews for a reason. Sunday lunch we will be dining elsewhere as we have had a lot better elsewhere. Excellent customer service and presentation but quality a let down.

Absolutely amazing food! There was 3 of us all together all got different things plus sides and cocktails and every single thing was fantastic! We have not stopped talking about how good the food was will definitely be back and 100% reccomend. Staff where all really lovely too 10/10

Fantastic meal last night at Eighteen. The king prawn starter is always very tasty and was spot on plus a special of goats cheese arancini which was good. Husband and I both chose the brill which was on as a special. It came with a hollandaise sauce, spinach and crispy potatoes, it was delicious! There was also a swordfish special which sounded nice too. Great to see fresh fish specials on the menu. Fantastic friendly, efficient service as usual. Thanks to the whole team for a lovely evening.

Me and my partner have booked a table last minute, very lucky! The best starter (king prawns) the best mains and food with drinks if we say so ourselves considering we’re a little bit of - food snobs. Staff are amazing. By far the best place to visit. Going back for Sunday lunch tomorrow!

A lovely relaxed, Sunday Afternoon. Our first visit here and a great time had by us all. Halloumi and cheesy flatbread to share for starters that were really good. Roast chicken, pasta, fish & chips and a bacon cheeseburger followed that was all excellent. The service was great, friendly, relaxed and informative and the venue get really clean and safe. We’ll definitely be back.

Great re-opening visit. A very warm welcome as usual and procedures in place to ensure safety but to also ensure a lovely relaxed experience. Great service throughout and the food was even better than before! Smaller menu for the moment and take-away also available but some weekly specials ensuring options for a wide choice. For starters we both had the delicious yummy king prawns followed by pasta ragu and steak and chips. All really tasty and very good quality, plus truffle chips to die for! Can also highly recommend the burgers and chilli chicken bites which we had as take-away the week before. Meaty juicy tasty burgers, yum! Thanks again to making it a lovely visit and will be returning ASAP! Lucky to have such a great place in Lymm. Thanks team

Absolutely delicious main course - truffle ravioli. Full of flavour and beautifully served. Starters were to die for, Halloumi fries and garlic flat bread yum yum!

I was hesitant about going out the first day restrictions were relaxed but with a graduation to celebrate and a wonderful village to support we chose Eighteen the Cross for our first night out . The safety measures in place were very reassuring with alternate tables out of use , no cutlery or condiments on the table , staff explained all procedures . Working with a reduced menu there was still plenty of choice and the quality of food and service was outstanding as always . Support out local businesses and stay safe - book a table at eighteen and you won’t be disappointed

Best place to eat in Lymm. Been here twice this week for my birthday. There is a great 2 or 3 course menu mid week and a great evening menu too. Had a fabulous meal last night. Beautiful food and gorgeous wine and cocktails! The staff are brilliant and were accommodating finding a quieter table for us as my dad is hard of hearing. My favourite place to eat! Thanks so much! Visited with family for Sunday lunch. The roast dinner was really delicious. Kids meals also great and amazing value, they finished everything (which rarely happens) . Nothing too much trouble for staff. Will be back. !!

I found the service from the manager terrible when I visited this restaurant. After ordering our food, we waited over 40 minutes, the manger then came over and asked us to repeat what we had ordered, he had clearly lost the order but didn’t just admit that there had been a mistake and apologise. I said no problem, but it would be nice to have another drink whilst we waited, and he very sharply said no and laughed in a very uncomfortable way, meaning he was not willing to compensate us for our long wait. It was very awkward and no apology given. He then walked away and returned a few minutes later to ask what we wanted to drink then. Well by then the damage was done. We visited quite a while ago and sometimes I think about trying again as there are only a few restaurants in Lymm, but his attitude and customer service was really awful so we always go elsewhere.*response to owner* ... not sure if you are aware that customers are unfortunately unable to reply to your response on google, but the visit was really not a special occasion so I forget the exact time but as I said it was a while ago, nonetheless it was not enjoyable, but thank you for the invite back and the promise to deliver better service next time.

They had vegan options! Wish there was more though. What I did have was okay (pizza) but it wasn’t the best I’ve had. Nevertheless, would go again :)

Nice food. Portions not massive. The large plate had 5 ravioli on it! Wine of a good quality.

A visit to 18 the cross tonight proved a very average experience, nothing you would complain about really but no great shakes. Could do better !

We have been meaning to try this place for a while. It's nice and cosy inside with an open kitchen. The kids menu was good, my daughters fish and chips was a good size and she liked her brownie with icecream. I just opted for a pizza and didn't bother with the set menu. The pizza was good but the tomato sauce on top lacked any depth of flavour, it just tasted sweet and bland. My husband had a lovely lentil and cauliflower salad followed by fish and chips. He liked his meal but said there was too much batter on the fish. The service was excellent and I can see why this place is popular.

Gary sorted out a table for 14 to celebrate the birthdays of two of the girls. They had fun with a mocktail making session followed by a choice of main course and dessert. It was a lovely grown up way to celebrate their birthdays and the best mocktail won a pizza voucher. We were on hand next door if required but left them to enjoy and have some fun! Easiest birthday party ever for us - thank you.

Went with family for a special birthday occasion. The service was good, although a little slow but very friendly. The fish and chips were excellent. I had the Braised Beef Bourguignon which was beautifully cooked, really soft but had absolutely no taste of wine which was a real shame. The chunky chips were gorgeous.

The best place to eat in Lymm! Sunday roasts are excellent.
