Eglinton Hotel in Coleraine

The interior downstairs is beautiful with a lovely bar, the barmaid was pleasant however we where pestered by a drunk man wearing a long black coat with a tattoo on his hand, he came over to where we were sitting and asked us what where we doing here he got rude and came out with unpleasant comments he then offered to shake hands with us we went along with it just to try and get rid of him he squeezed our hands in purpose to get a reaction from us, we just got up and left, this parasite is bad for business a truly horrible experience.

As soon as I entered I was delighted to see the superb interior the staff were so friendly and guided me very well to the room where i was gobsmacked by the quality of the Television, the coffee machine and beds etc. I had assumed it was a five star hotel because of the sheer quality of the whole experience as soon I had entered until I left. I would recommend to everyone and I'm going back next weekend for a big lads weekend. LADS! LADS! LADS!

Renovation in process central location. 1 of the few old hotels left standing. Should be a interesting project.

Viaje familiar con anciana madre fuimos aquí para el almuerzo buffet, que era bastante agradable, después nos dirigimos a las chicas. Subió las escaleras muy empinadas y exprimido a través de los inodoros extremadamente pequeñas de las mujeres. Con horror uno de los aseos estaba bloqueada y inundada por el borde con excrementos! El otro wc restante no estaba limpia no significa que había agua por todo el piso, pero como mi madre estaba desesperado que tenía que usar. Experiencia horrible. No puedo quejarme de el personal, ya que considera que nunca sería volver. Ellos no en la nómina. Pésimo normas de sanidad e higiene.

Llegamos tarde por el asador pero decidimos tener algo de todos modos, la opción era muy limitado, pero la señorita me explico esto fue porque el hotel tiene sólo tenía nuevos propietarios y revisar cosas como el menú. Mi señora y yo tuvimos la cena de carne asada, absolutamente deliciosos y por 7.50 libras cómo se puede equivocar. Nos pareció que el personal amable y atento servicio fue rápido. Nos vemos el próximo domingo la gente, continúen el excelente trabajo.

They do a carvary at 7.50 per adult and it is very good the food is all fresh not frozen the servers are very nice and chatty the portion sizes are decent and the kids menu at 4.50 is also very good the only point I would bring up is the girl who came to take our drinks orders had the personality of a brick but bar that it was very nice and we will be back :-)

Ci abbiamo cenato due volte. Era l'unico ristorante dove non era necessario attendere per ore in fila. Il locale è datato e si nota. Ad ogni modo, vi si mangia discretamente senza spendere cifre esagerate.

i recently popped into the eglington for the afternoon carvery this is possibly the worst restaurant i have ever entered the staff and service was ok but the food , it upsets my stomach even now to think of it Bear Grylls would struggle to eat here my advice is if you get bored with the ghost train at Barrys and you want to do something really scary then head to the Eglinton for lunch....

Called in here for evening meal while staying in Portrush. Was a Sat evening and we were very surprised that the place was empty. 1 person drinking at bar. We ordered drinks and asked for menu. Barman very friendly, and couldn't do enough for us. Food arrived quickly and was very hot and fresh. Great portion sizes also. Couple of people arrived at bar while we were eating and put music on. Was a bit loud while your trying to enjoy a meal. I went to bar to order more drinks and a dessert, but barman had disappeared and after a wait, we changed our mind. I ended up paying for our meal at reception. After we had left we realized that the first round of drinks that my husband paid up front for, had been added to the final bill, so we had been charged twice. I returned and spoke with the barman about this. He checked the till reel to confirm and issued a refund. Food was lovely but very strange the place was empty. Its a hotel too and even though it was very wet and windy there was good few people in town.

The restaurant was very slow with their service ,the food was average nothing too fancy want you would except from a Sunday lunch .

Food not great and when you eventually do get it it is unedible. Very expensive and you could make better at home just dont go here

This place is a complete dive!!! We went in last Sunday for the roast meal and I asked the receptionist what the hygiene rating was.....she looked at me puzzled then said 'I don't know I only started here today. Maybe they can tell you in the bar or restaurant!' So I goes into bar no one could tell me in there and by this stage my hubby had paid so we went into restaurant. While in there I asked another member of dopey staff and actually got the same response as receptionist!!!! Now onto there rating it's a 3, but I think they were extremely lucky to get that. The food was terrible and I got a funny look when I asked if they had just plain chicken gravy not beef. The lady serving said yeah that one beside it so I took this at her word until I was nearly finished my meal and I watched her pour the same gravy into both sections!!! She went beetroot red when she realised I'd saw her but by this stage I was already feeling unwell. I went into bathroom which smelt so bad I vomited only to be then met by a drunken Pervy old man trying to use the ladies toilet!!! Trust me do not go to this place and if you do after reading this.....good luck!!!!

Not even worth a 1 star rating! Went in for the carvery. Noone greeted us on the way in and weren't told what to do. Found our own way to a table and noone came near us to offer us a drink or even a "hello". Stood and waited for several minutes to be served food then when we made our way back to the table we still hadn't been offered a drink. After finally getting a drink we had our food and before we could even finish our dinner we were asked to pay for our drinks, which was 2 large cokes and cost £8.40!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We then had to ask for a desert menu and eventually after waiting around again on someone taking our desert order, which we had already paid for in advance, we got up and left. We will NOT be back!

We recently ate here after a lovely day spent at the beach and at Barrys. The food although edible was all frozen- I had a chicken kiev which was tiny and my husband had the fish which were both straight out of the freezer into the deep fat fryer with bit of wilted salad on the side and frozen chips. There was only 1 waitress and our food sat on the hot plate a good 10 minutes before being served to us- we had full view of the kitchen from where we were sitting. The place was not hospitable at all and had a musty old smell about it. I complained about the food when paying our bill but no apologies or explanations were given. Will definetly not return here again- the chip shop across the road would have served fresher and better food!

We went in on a sat afternoon for a joint family dinner. It will be the last time. The girl was very pleasant and took the order. We ordered the usual chips, chicken burgers etc. We asked for a baby seat for our 1.5year old. The girl came back 30 mins later with a baby seat that the top didnt fit the base. We asked for another one but she said it was the only one they had. Nearly another 30 mins later she came back with the food. Disgusting food which we waited nearly an hour for. Pretty much Iceland food heated up. Then we got the bill. 16quid for 4 large sprites. 45quid for 4 adults and a baby. Totally gutted I decided to go there...Avoid avoid avoid

EUUUGH! dirty food, dirty service and felt like the other customers were plotting my demise. would avoid at all costs!

On saturday my husband & I were @ the Air Show in Portrush. We decided to call in to have a meal before we caught a train home. Our two meals were atrocious, bland & tasteless. the meat had a strange texture, the vegitables must have been simmering in water all day. There wasn't an appetising aroma in the restaurant. Toilets left a lot to be desired. We could here other diners voicing concerns. It is obvious that the Eglinton Hotel only gets the unsuspecting day trippers in for meals. I doubt the the locals from Portrush would frequent it. Also we could see the the staff make coffee out of a jar. The staff were very pleasent but would need to pay more attention to diners needs & wishes.
